WWW.FOXNEWS.COMConservative star Brett Cooper recalls being pelted with 'Communist Manifesto' at UCLA partyOnce a child actor, and now a conservative media star, Brett Cooper has taken the internet by storm with her commentary on a variety of political and cultural issues to millions of followers and subscribers across her social media platforms.Fox News Digital sat down with Cooper, host of "The Brett Cooper Show," ahead of her live show in Atlanta, Georgia, to discuss her media career and new podcast. Cooper has since signed as a Fox News media contributor.Cooper attended UCLA and felt like the political climate of the school and the city of Los Angeles didn't represent her.BRETT COOPER: PEOPLE HAVE A VOICE NOW IN A WAY THEY NEVER HAVE"I went to UCLA, I just kind of decided that really wasn't the path for me, at least being an actor wasn't, and so I got really interested in production and being on the other side of Hollywood, and that sort of led me down a path of making videos."When Cooper started making videos, she gained the attention of conservative media."I got in contact with some conservative organizations like PragerU," Cooper said.As Cooper was making videos for PragerU, she received attention from the Daily Wire to start a show, and then her career "took off from there."In January, Cooper launched "The Brett Cooper Show.""My family was always super vocal and open about politics and values and philosophy," Cooper said. "We were a big debate-over-the-dinner-table family, but I didn't really follow politics, and we didn't discuss news and current events in that way."While attending UCLA, Cooper found herself having to analyze her political views."Going to UCLA, I was confronted with people who were very much involved in that world and cared very deeply," Cooper said. "So it forced me to kind of reconcile with the values that I had been raised with. So I think that was probably a turning point where I just had to be confronted with that and figure out, you know, do I actually believe in the things that I was raised with."Cooper was initially hesitant about making politics a big part of who she is."I definitely didn't make it the forefront of my personality, especially because I knew that so many of my friends were on the left, I never really wanted to cause any problems, but over time they figured out kind of what I believe," she said. However, the political differences at her school were very evident to Cooper."My favorite story is that I was hit in the head with a Communist Manifesto at a party because they were like, you should read this, and they like chucked it at me."In 2020, Cooper posted a video on Instagram where she spoke out about the COVID lockdowns in Los Angeles."I make a video, and I was literally so terrified that I turned off my phone and I like chucked it across the room. Um, because I was just so terrified to publicly, you know, put myself out there in that way."JOY BEHAR MOCKED FOR RIDICULOUS CLAIM TRUMP DOESN'T LIKE STRONG WOMENNow, Cooper hopes that she can help others by providing unique perspectives and starting conversations."I'm not asking you to change your mind, but if I help you understand something in a different light or see a different perspective that just makes you think about something in new way, that's great. And if I can foster that in this community with my audience, my comment section, then I think I'm doing something right."Cooper will provide cultural, social, and political commentary across all Fox News Media platforms.Cooper launched her podcast"The Brett Cooper Show"in January and has amassed over 9 million followers across her social media platforms. The Gen Z conservative is known for "her grounded perspective, sharp wit and distinctive takes," Fox News Media said when announcing her new role.In January, Cooper appeared on"Jesse Watters Primetime" to discuss the changing media landscape."I watched the media landscape change and young people are just hungry for independent voices who are authentic and honest with their audiences. They dont want to hear from traditional pundits 24/7," Cooper said.Cooper is a graduate of UCLA and is based in Tennessee, where she lives with her husband.Fox News' Brian Flood contributed to this report.0 Comments 0 Shares 2 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTop Democrats, media demand Zohran Mamdani condemn 'globalize the intifada' phraseSeveral Democrats and members of the press have called on New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani to denounce the "globalize the intifada" phrase, which is interpreted as a call for violence against Jewish people.Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., said during an interview with WNYC radio host Brian Lehrer on Thursday that the phrase is received by the public as a call to "slaughter the Jews," and that Mamdani needed to understand how the word is received by the Jewish community."Meet the Press" host Kristen Welker asked Mamdani to condemn the controversial phrase three times on Sunday during an interview, but Mamdani refused. Earlier this month, he also declined to condemn the expression during an interview with The Bulwark's Tim Miller."Brian, I didn't hear your exchange with him, but if I was speaking to him directly, I would simply say that is not how the words are received," Gillibrand told Lehrer. "It doesn't matter what meaning you have in your brain. It is not how the word is received. When you use a word like intifadato many Jewish Americans and Jewish New Yorkers, that means you are permissive of violence against Jews."SANDERS ENDORSES SOCIALIST MAMDANI IN MOVE TO BLOCK CUOMO IN NYC MAYORAL RACEGillibrand called on Mamdani to denounce the phrase and said she had a conversation with the Democratic candidate for mayor of New York City about protecting all citizens.During Mamdani's interview withWelker, he insisted that the role of mayor was not to police words and told Welker that he didn't use the phrase. While the democratic socialist candidate said he planned to protect all New Yorkers, he refused to condemn the phrase and brought up President Donald Trump."My concern is, to start to walk down the line of language and making clear what language I believe is permissible or impermissible, takes me into a place similar to that of the president, who is looking to do those very kinds of things, putting people in jail for writing an op-ed, putting them in jail for protesting," Mamdani said. "Ultimately, it is not language that I use. It is language, I understand there are concerns about, and what I will do is showcase my vision for the city through my words and my actions."WASHINGTON POST BASHES SOCIALIST ZOHRAN MAMDANI AS POTENTIAL DISASTER FOR NEW YORK CITYRep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., said during ABC's "This Week" on Sunday that the mayoral candidate would have to clarify this position on the phrase."Globalizing the intifada, by way of example, is not an acceptable phrase," Jeffries said. "Hes going to have to clarify his position on that as he moves forward."He added, "With respect to the Jewish communities that I represent, I think our nominee is going to have to convince folks that he is prepared to aggressively address the rise in antisemitism in the city of New York, which has been an unacceptable development."NYC MAYORAL CANDIDATE ZOHRAN MAMDANI DEFENDS BDS SUPPORT AMID ISRAEL CONTROVERSYRep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., said Monday on CNN that the phrase was deeply offensive and every elected official should condemn it."I mean, every elected official has an obligation to condemn hatred, whether its antisemitism or Islamophobia. You know, the second Intifada refers to a wave of terror attacks, suicide bombings and slashings and stabbings that left more than a thousand Israelis and Jews dead. And so, when one uses the word intifada, it causes profound pain and trauma to the Jewish community. It is deeply offensive. Every elected official, without exception, should condemn it," Torres said.Donny Deutsch, who is Jewish, said Monday during MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that he was "outraged" Mamdani wouldn't condemn the phrase.NEW YORK REPUBLICANS WARN OF 'DISASTER' IF 'DANGEROUS' ZOHRAN MAMDANI WINS MAYORAL RACE"Im outraged that we have a candidate for mayor of New York, Mr. Mamdani, that cannot walk back or cannot condemn the words globalize the intifada and his nuance of, well, it means different things for different people.' Well, let me tell you what it means to a Jew it means violence," Deutsch said. "If any other group came forward and said you know these words are offense to us, it means violence, it frightens us,' I think there would be a response, but for some reason, if Jewish people find it offensive, it's not offensive."During the same conversation on MSNBC, Rev. Al Shaprton said Mamdani needed to be clear on his position."Hes running for mayor of New York. You need to take off the table, Do you support international intifada? Period. Not go around it. I understand you dont want to be forced into something, but I dont think thats what he stands for from what he said to us. And he should say that outright," Sharpton said.MSNBC host Chris Hayes told the New York Times' Ezra Klein that Mamdani's answer about the phrase during the conversation on The Bulwark's podcast wasn't a good response.ANTI-ISRAEL PROTESTERS LIGHT FLARES BY NYC EXHIBIT FOR OCT. 7 MUSIC FESTIVAL VICTIMS: LONG LIVE THE INTIFADA"And the headline that comes out from it and to be clear I dont think it was a great answer is: refuses to condemn globalizing the intifada," Hayes said, while praising Mamdani's overall media strategy. "And so I thought to myself, now were seeing the cost. Weve seen the benefit. Hes been everywhere. But going everywhere means you might have a news cycle where you say something like that."Mamdani's campaign did not immediately return a request for comment.Mamdani's primary victory in the liberal city has been criticized by Republicans, although Rep. Riley Moore, R-W.V., said Sunday his win was a "gift" to the Republican Party.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"Hes talking about government-run grocery stores, free transportation, jacking up tax prices. If you live in West Palm Beach, Florida, your property value is about to skyrocket, likely," Moore said during CNN's "State of the Union." "To me, this is a gift to the Republican Party because this guy is going to be a lightning rod that theyre going to have to distance themselves from, in the upcoming election cycle."Fox News' Gabriel Hays contributed to this report.0 Comments 0 Shares 3 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMSEN ALEX PADILLA: JD Vance and Trump personify political theater. And we're watching their biggest act yetLast month, Vice President JD Vance visited Los Angeles. No, not to better coordinate with local law enforcement frustrated after the dangerous lack of communication coming from the Trump administration as they keep Marines and National Guardsmen in Los Angeles.Instead, the vice president came to escalate a crisis of President Trumps own making and to disparage Californias elected officials. How else would you describe the vice presidents conduct, when three days after Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass lifted the curfew downtown and protests were dissipating, he staged a press conference to attack state and local leaders, falsely claiming they had "decided to go to war against" law enforcement.SENATOR ALEX PADILLA SLAMS JD VANCE AFTER VP CALLED HIM 'JOSE' DURING A PRESS CONFERENCEThats a far cry from lowering the political temperature. But for this administration, its standard operating procedure.Yet, one thing the vice president said did surprise me. It came when one of his handpicked reporters lobbed yet another softball question, asking for his comment on the string of Democratic lawmakers myself included that the Trump administration has handcuffed for speaking out."Well, I was hoping Jose Padilla would be here to ask a question, but unfortunately I guess he decided not to show up because there wasnt the theater," he said, smirking. "Thats what this is: its pure political theater."Political theater. Huh.The vice president, my former colleague and the current president of the U.S.Senate intentionally chose to call me "Jose" instead of "Alex." He knows my name. But sadly, his behavior in June is indicative of a larger trend from this administration. In 2025, there is no one who personifies political theater better than JD Vance and Donald Trump. In fact, were in the middle of their biggest act yet as they use service members and federal law enforcement in Los Angeles as props to justify their latest power grab.None of this is new.JD VANCE RAILS AGAINST NEWSOM, LA MAYOR FOR DECLARING OPEN SEASON ON FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENTTime and time again, when the Trump administration finds itself in hot water, it returns to the same tired playbook: pick a fight to distract people. Scapegoat immigrants. Threaten the use of force. Do whatever you can to create a spectacle and change the news cycle. And as it turns out, just a few short weeks ago, things were going terribly wrong for Donald Trump. He was facing failures on nearly every front: failing to bring prices down or to secure a wave of trade deals despite his trade advisers promise to secure "90 deals in 90 days." Failing to quickly pass his "Big, Beautiful Bill" as allies and adversaries alike began to warn of the trillions of dollars it would add to the federal deficit. And perhaps most embarrassing of all, he was facing a messy public break-up with Elon Musk.So no, it was no coincidence that at the lowest point of his presidency yet, Donald Trump turned to his break-glass-in-case-of-emergency option, federalizing and deploying 4,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles along with hundreds of Marines. The Trump administration wants this spectacle. They want to distract from their failures, while giving them an excuse to push the boundaries of Trumps power.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONBut this isnt just about how the Trump administration treats blue states or immigrants. Its about how they treat our military, too. Anyone who applauds President Trumps militarization of Los Angeles is also applauding a politician tearing away our service members from critical missions any time the president begins to feel some political pressure. And applauding putting every Guardsman and Marine in an impossible position. No one enlists to become a political prop. But to Americans watching from home who still think this doesnt concern them because theyre not a Californian, not an immigrant, not a Democrat, or not from a military family: think hard about what comes next. The Trump administration has argued the president alone can deploy the military to put down protests over the wishes of the governor. Of the mayor. Even of local law enforcement. While you might not care to speak up today, imagine if a Democratic president returns to office and chooses to deploy our military to your state. It doesnt matter that the overwhelming majority of protestors remain peaceful one bad actor who chooses to exploit a protest to cause chaos, and the president could militarize your community, too.In the end, this doesnt come down to Republican versus Democrat, or Trump and Vance versus Los Angeles. It comes down to the basic question: do you believe that in America, an attack on anyones rights is an attack on everyones rights?Or, if youre like J.D. Vance, are you just here for the show?0 Comments 0 Shares 3 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMParalyzed man speaks and sings with AI brain-computer interfaceWhen someone loses the ability to speak because of a neurological condition like ALS, the impact goes far beyond words. It touches every part of daily life, from sharing a joke with family to simply asking for help. Now, thanks to a team at the University of California, Davis, there's a new brain-computer interface (BCI) system that's opening up real-time, natural conversation for people who can't speak. This technology isn't just about converting thoughts into text. Instead, it translates the brain signals that would normally control the muscles used for speech, allowing users to "talk" and even "sing" through a computer, almost instantly.Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy ReportGet my best tech tips, urgent security alerts, and exclusive deals delivered straight to your inbox. Plus, youll get instant access to my Ultimate Scam Survival Guide - free when you join myCYBERGUY.COM/NEWSLETTER.The heart of this system is four microelectrode arrays, surgically implanted in the part of the brain responsible for producing speech. These tiny devices pick up the neural activity that happens when someone tries to speak. The signals are then fed into an AI-powered decoding model, which converts them into audible speech in just ten milliseconds. That's so fast, it feels as natural as a regular conversation. What's especially remarkable is that the system can recreate the user's own voice, thanks to a voice cloning algorithm trained on recordings made before the onset of ALS. This means the person's digital voice sounds like them, not a generic computer voice. The system even recognizes when the user is trying to sing and can change the pitch to match simple melodies. It can also pick up on vocal nuances, like asking a question, emphasizing a word, or making interjections such as "aah," "ooh," or "hmm." All of this adds up to a much more expressive and human-sounding conversation than previous technologies could offer. The process starts with the participant attempting to speak sentences shown on a screen. As they try to form each word, the electrodes capture the firing patterns of hundreds of neurons. The AI learns to map these patterns to specific sounds, reconstructing speech in real-time. This approach allows for subtle control over speech rhythm and tone, giving the user the ability to interrupt, emphasize, or ask questions just as anyone else would. One of the most striking outcomes from the UC Davis study was that listeners could understand nearly 60 percent of the synthesized words, compared to just four percent without the BCI. The system also handled new, made-up words that weren't part of its training data, showing its flexibility and adaptability.Being able to communicate in real-time, with one's own voice and personality, is a game-changer for people living with paralysis. The UC Davis team points out that this technology allows users to be more included in conversations. They can interrupt, respond quickly, and express themselves with nuance. This is a big shift from earlier systems that only translated brain signals into text, which often led to slow, stilted exchanges that felt more like texting than talking. As David Brandman, the neurosurgeon involved in the study, put it, our voice is a core part of our identity. Losing it is devastating, but this kind of technology offers real hope for restoring that essential part of who we are. While these early results are promising, the researchers are quick to point out that the technology is still in its early stages. So far, it's only been tested with one participant, so more studies are needed to see how well it works for others, including people with different causes of speech loss, like stroke. The BrainGate2 clinical trial at UC Davis Health is continuing to enroll participants to further refine and test the system.Restoring natural, expressive speech to people who have lost their voices is one of the most meaningful advances in brain-computer interface technology. This new system from UC Davis shows that it's possible to bring real-time, personal conversation back into the lives of those affected by paralysis. While there's still work to be done, the progress so far is giving people a chance to reconnect with their loved ones and the world around them in a way that truly feels like their own.As brain-computer interfaces become more advanced, where should we draw the line between enhancing lives and altering the essence of human interaction? WWW.FOXNEWS.COMImane Khelif fires off punchy message after Olympic boss vows to 'ensure fairness' in women's categoryControversial gold medalist Imane Khelif fired off a terse message on Monday as the new Olympics chief called for "protecting" the female category to "ensure fairness."Khelif, who faced questions about whether the fighter was eligible to compete in the womens category during the 2024 Paris Olympics, fired off a quote commonly attributed to Winston Churchill after new International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry took her stance on protecting women.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts," Khelif captioned a post on the boxers Instagram Stories.Coventry said Thursday that she had "overwhelming support" to make moves to protect the womens category in the Olympics amid transgender athlete controversies that have plagued girls and womens sports in the United States, Britain and Australia."We understand that there'll be differences depending on the sport but it was very clear from the members that we have to protect the female category, first and foremost to ensure fairness," Coventry said."But we need to do that with a scientific approach and the inclusion of the international federations who have already done a lot of work in this area."FORMER US OLYMPIC COACH OPENS UP ON SUING USA FENCING BOARD AMID TRANS ATHLETE POLICY DISAGREEMENTSThe new president added that there is "unanimous" support for coming to an agreement about how to amend the policy and suggested the IOC may take inspiration from the World Athletics policy, which restricts biological males from competing in women's sports if those males have gone through male puberty."It was very clear from the membership the discussion around this has to be done with medical and scientific research at the core, so we are looking at the facts and the nuances and the inclusion of the international federations that have done so much of this work having a seat at table and sharing with us because every sport is different," she said."But it was pretty much unanimously felt that the IOC should take a leading role in bringing everyone together to try and find a broad consensus."However, Coventry also said any changes likely wouldn't result in retroactively changing the results of past competitions that featured athletes with gender-eligibility questions. The 2024 Paris Olympics featured two boxers winning gold in the women's competition, despite previously failing gender-eligibility tests for international competitions.Khelifs medals would likely be safe even in the face of a medical test published in 3 Wire Sports in June that reignited the gender controversy around the boxer.Fox News Jackson Thompson contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Comments 0 Shares 2 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMChicago abortion clinic opens offering controversial third-trimester abortionsAn abortion clinic in Chicago is now offering controversial third trimester abortion services to pregnant women.Abortion provider Hope Clinic, in Granite City, opened a second location in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood on June 2, advertising that it now offers "all-trimester" abortions."Hope Clinic is now open in Chicago, IL, expanding our care through all trimesters! (And OMG we couldnt be more excited)," the clinic posted on Instagram. "Everyone deserves access to abortion care, whenever they need it. Because deciding and acting on whats best for you shouldnt be on anyone elses timeline."The clinic explains on its website that it offers surgical abortion procedures to women up to 34 weeks into their pregnancy.According to a report by The Chicago Tribune, the clinic is "the only standalone clinic in the Midwest to offer often-controversial terminations in the third trimester and among only a handful that do so nationwide."BRITISH PARLIAMENT TAKES FIRST STEP TOWARD DECRIMINALIZING LATE-TERM ABORTIONSUnder Illinois law, women can get an abortion for any reason up to the point of fetal viability, around 24 weeks.Abortions are allowed later in pregnancy if the mother's health or well-being, "including, but not limited to, physical, emotional, psychological, and familial health and age," is considered threatened by the pregnancy, according to the state's Reproductive Health Act.The clinic's website explained in a social media post some of the reasons why women might want to get "later abortions."Some women "don't know" they are pregnant until further along, while others "learn new information," such as a fetal anomaly diagnosis. Some women aren't able to "access care" earlier in their pregnancy, according to the post. Lastly, it says, some women "just don't want to be pregnant.""You get to change your mind and make decisions that are right for you. And they dont have to be on anyone elses timeline," the clinic's post reads.SWING STATE JUDGE STRIKES DOWN 24-HOUR ABORTION WAITING PERIOD AS UNCONSTITUTIONALDr. Erin King, Hope Clinic chief medical officer, told the Tribune that they would be following the law while ensuring as many people can access abortion as possible."I want people to know that we are absolutely following the law, but that we make a really careful determination," she said. "And we want to provide access to as many people as we can within the law."At 34 weeks, a baby can weigh around 5 lbs and the pregnancy is considered "near-term." Over 90% of babies born after 28 weeks, the beginning of the third trimester, typically survive outside the womb, according to one 2022 study.According to a 2023 Gallup poll, majorities of Americans oppose legal abortion in the second (55%) and third (70%) trimesters.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREA local pro-life activist told the Tribune that he appreciated the clinic's transparency but believed that most people would consider abortions at this stage "brutality.""Almost everyone recognizes the brutality of an abortion that late in pregnancy," Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Chicago-based Pro-Life Action League, told the paper. "I think its a common ground area we have with a lot of people. As alarming as it is for someone like me who cares about fetal life, life in the womb, and who cares about the fate of women who participate in the demise of their child, on another level I appreciate the honesty and openness. Because it allows us to have a frank conversation about what late-term abortion really is."Anne O'Connor, VP of Legal Affairs at pro-life organization The National Institute of Family and Life Advocates, told Fox News Digital that babies in the third trimester are "fully formed, unique human beings" and called abortions at this stage "especially gruesome and unnecessary.""This is a shameful situation and ironic that it is happening at a place called Hope.' There is no hope in that ghastly chamber - just despair and destruction," she told Fox News Digital. "The sad thing is that it is legal because the United States is one of the few countries in the world that does not put any limits on late term abortions. We are joined by the likes of China, Vietnam and South Korea in destroying human beings in this horrific and appalling manner. The network of pregnancy centers in the U.S. is enormous and ready to help these women who feel abortion is their best option."Hope Clinic defended their services in a comment to Fox News Digital:"Hope Clinic provides compassionate abortion care throughout pregnancy, in full accordance with Illinois law. We need to ensure that people who experience health complications during pregnancy have access to a full range of treatment options. With abortion bans around the country forcing more people to delay their care and travel longer distances, expanding access to later abortion care is even more important. All people deserve access to high-quality health care throughout pregnancy without arbitrary restrictions, and we are committed to providing this care so our patients can make the best decisions for themselves and their families."0 Comments 0 Shares 2 Views 0 Reviews
