San Diego plane crash kills rock musician, influential music exec
Dave Shapiro, a music executive in the heavy metal and hard rock scene, and drummer Daniel Williams were among those killed in a San Diego plane crash.Six people, including Shapiro and Williams, were on board the plane when it crashed into a neighborhood of U.S. Navy-owned housing in San Diego early Thursday morning. There are not believed to be any survivors.Williams, former drummer for metal band The Devil Wears Prada, posted on his Instagram on Wednesday afternoon that he was boarding the plane with Shapiro. The band has posted a tribute to Williams on their Instagram page.JET OWNED BY MTLEY CRE'S VINCE NEIL INVOLVED IN FATAL PLANE CRASH AT SCOTTSDALE AIRPORT IN ARIZONA"No words. We owe you everything. Love you forever," the band wrote.Shapiro had a pilots license and was listed as the owner of the plane that crashed, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. He was among the six people killed in the crash, along with two employees, the music agency Sound Talent Group confirmed Thursday."We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues and friends. Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by todays tragedy," the music agency he co-founded, Sound Talent Group, wrote in a statement.Shapiro co-founded Sound Talent Group in 2018 alongside Tim Borror and Matt Andersen. The agency represented a diverse roster of artists, including Pierce The Veil, Parkway Drive, Sum 41 and Vanessa Carlton.Shapiro was a strong advocate for independent musicians and a co-founder of the National Independent Talent Organization. He was included in Billboard's 2012 "30 Under 30" list that recognized rising stars in entertainment. Industry veterans say Shapiro paved the way for the formation of other independent agencies and helped many alternative bands find audiences in the mainstream.Tributes poured in from across the music industry, with many praising Shapiro's dedication to artists and his genuine character.Sum 41 singer Deryck Whibley credited Shapiro with helping build the rock band back up during a "low point" in their career."His opinion mattered so much to me," Whibley said. "He was that guy I would go to for advice on things."Nate Blasdell, former lead guitarist for the band I Set My Friends on Fire, said he was "absolutely heartbroken.""Dave was the first booking agent I ever worked with and he was a major part of my music career in my late teen years," he said in a post on X.DC PLANE CRASH VICTIM AND KANSAS CITY CHIEFS SUPERFAN PLANNED RETURN HOME FOR FAMILY SUPER BOWL PARTY"He was truly the best in the game and one of the most respected people in the industry."In addition to his work in the music industry, Shapiro was a passionate aviator. He owned Velocity Aviation, a flight school offering lessons in San Diego and Homer, Alaska. The small aircraft crashed in a large San Diego military neighborhood Thursday morning. Eight people in the neighborhood were injured, but none died. The aircraft, a Cessna 550 Citation business jet, crashed around 3:45 a.m. in the Murphy Canyon neighborhood, igniting multiple homes and cars in flames. The flight originated at Teterboro, New Jersey. After making a stop in Wichita, Kansas, it appeared to have been inbound to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERHomes were engulfed in flames, and jet fuel rolled down the streets, as half a dozen vehicles ignited while residents in the neighborhood of U.S. Navy-owned housing were shaken awake just before 4 a.m. by the thunderous crash and subsequent explosions. Out their windows, they saw a wall of fire."I cant quite put words to describe what the scene looks like, but with the jet fuel going down the street, and everything on fire all at once, it was pretty horrific to see," San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl said, according to The Associated Press. No one in the neighborhood died, but eight were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation and injuries that were not life-threatening, including a person who was hurt climbing out a window, police officer Anthony Carrasco said.Fox News Digital's Michael Dorgan, Alexandra Koch and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Sen Mike Lee accuses Chicago mayor who called Trump a 'monster' of 'bragging about' violating the law
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson called President Donald Trump a "monster," and U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, has accused the mayor of "bragging about" violating the law.Johnson accused the president of "animus towards women, people of color, [and] working people.""We have always known who he has been," he declared. "This is not a surprise. He's a monster, period. We have the most diverse administration in the history of Chicago, and he is threatened by that."Fox News Digital reached out to the White House for comment but did not receive a response by the time of publication.DOJ LAUNCHES INVESTIGATION INTO BLUE STATE CITY OVER ALLEGED RACE-BASED HIRINGThe mayor's fiery comments come in the context of the Justice Department launching a probe into whether Chicago is engaging in race-based discrimination."Our investigation is based on information suggesting that you have made hiring decisions solely on the basis of race," a letter signed by Assistant Attorney General, Civil Rights Division, Harmeet Dhillon declares. The letter points to comments the mayor made while speaking to Dr. Byron T. Brazier, pastor of the Apostolic Church of God.During the exchange, Johnson pointed to various roles occupied by Black individuals and said, "when you ask, how do we ensure that our people get a chance to grow their business, having people in my administration that will look out for the interest of everyone, and everyone means you have to look out for the interests of Black folks that's how we ensure long-term sustainable growth "POLICE RAID DC SHOOTING SUSPECT ELIAS RODRIGUEZ'S CHICAGO APARTMENTDhillon's message to the mayor notes that "we have not reached any conclusions about the subject matter of the investigation.""Chicagos mayor is about to find out," Sen. Mike Lee declared in a post on X. "Racial discrimination is illegal.""Theres no such thing as benevolently racist hiring policies," Lee said in another post. "Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is breaking the law And bragging about it Then calling Trump a monster because his administration wont tolerate that," Lee wrote, adding, "Hes about to find out."GIANNO CALDWELL SEEKS JUSTICE FOR BROTHER KILLED IN BLUE CITY ENAMORED WITH CRIMINALS RIGHTS': ALDERMANThe mayor's press office also did not respond to Fox News Digital's comment request by the time of publication.

Kyle Larson aims to complete historic Indy 500-NASCAR double not achieved since 2001
"The double" has not been completed since 2001, despite several valiant attempts since then, but Kyle Larson is looking to add his name in the history books. The Indy 500 is set to begin at 12:45 p.m. ET at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, five hours and 15 minutes before the green flag will come out in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the Coca-Cola 600.The flight between the two tracks is roughly an hour and a half, but Larson wants to brave it out.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"The main why is I love to race. I like to challenge myself, you kind of learn new cars and all that. And I like to compete in the biggest races in the world. So to do two of those in the same day, its pretty cool," Larson said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital."For me, I want to do it while Im in my prime. Im only 32, feel like Im at the top of our sport, I felt like the timing is right for that. I dont know how long my NASCAR career will last I think itll be really fun to do a road course race, just to experience that sort of feel of cars that have a lot of power and sliding around, no power-steering, the physicality of it. And also, getting to race with guys in their territory and see what they grew up doing, and just seeing the caliber and level they race at, because it would be different than what us NASCAR guys see and feel on a road course."HOW A BOND BETWEEN FATHER AND SON BLOOMED A TWO-TIME INDY 500 CHAMPIONFive drivers, including Larson, have attempted the feat, and some have been able to run both races. However, Tony Stewart, who finished sixth at Indy and third in the Coke 600 in 2001, remains the only driver to accomplish all 1,100 miles. The last person to run both races is Kurt Busch, who finished the Indy 500 in sixth in 2014, but engine failure in Charlotte cost him the completion of that race.Larson attempted the double last year, but rain delayed the Indy 500, and that same storm prevented him from competing in Charlotte later on in the day, despite making it to the track."I had fun last year, it helped prepare me for this year. There's still a lot of good that came from last year even though I didn't get to run both. Hopefully the weather stays good, as it looks like it should, we can have everything on time, and do a good job in the races too and run up front."For beginners, Larson has one main goal: "Finish all the laps.""But then, you look at where the bars at," he continued, mentioning Stewart's accomplishment. "Youre like I want to beat that. If you can win one of the two, thatd be great. But it is hard to win a NASCAR race, which I do every week," Larson said."Winning the Indy 500 would be tougher, but it can definitely be done at the same time. The fastest car, best driver, doesnt technically always win the race. If you just execute the details the best you can and dont make any mistakes, you can have an opportunity to win at the end. If we can just do a good job, the results can take care of itself and we can have a great day."It would be nearly impossible to win both, but Larson knows which one he would rather have."Ive won the 600, I would take the Indy 500," he said. "But if I can win one of the two, it would be amazing."Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

DAVID MARCUS: Time to ban pro-Palestine (Hamas) groups on campus, just like KKK
College is a place where differing viewpoints and ideas should flourish and clash, but institutions have long had a responsibility to avoid formal recognition of hate groups such as the KKK or the Nazi Party. Today, in the wake of growing pro-Palestinian terror, groups supporting that terror should be added to this list.In recent years, since the American campus protests in support of Hamas terror attack on October 7, 2023, some colleges like Columbia University have canceled recognition of some pro-Palestine groups such as Students for Justice in Palestine, but its not enough.LAWSUIT ALLEGES ANTI-ISRAEL GROUP LEADERS ARE HAMAS FOOT SOLDIERS IN NEW YORK CITYAfter 31-year-old Elias Rodriguez allegedly murderedSarah Milgrimand Yaron Lischinsky two Israeli Embassy staffers on Wednesday night in Washington he can be seen on video yelling, "free free Palestine" in exactly the 60s style, sing-song cadence that echoes across our campuses. On those campuses we also hear a call to "globalize the intifada," precisely the call answered by Rodriguez. The intifada, after all, is an invitation to murder civilians in the name of Islam. Why would any American university allow itself to be associated with that? These schools may argue that it is possible to be a pro-Palestinian group on campus without advocating for violence, that only fights for fairness, but that is not what "from the river to the sea means," it means the destruction of Israel and the killing of Jews. How much daylight is there between a movement that would presumably eradicate all Jews in the Levant in the name of Palestinian birthrights and one that would kill minorities in the name of racial purity? The pro-Palestinian movement has many similarities to the banned KKK, both groups cast themselves as ethnic victims, both embrace terror tactics, both wear masks and symbols of violence from the white hood to the green Hamas headband, and obviously both hate Jews, but claim they only hate "what Jews have done," or something.Neither group has any place on any college campus. We dont need starry-eyed freshmen (mostly girls) walking into a college organization fair, seeing a Palestinian flag and keffiyeh and saying, "I want to help the oppressed people," with absolutely no context.Speaking of that ubiquitous Palestinian flag, while it dates back to older pan Arab fights against the Ottoman Empire, in the 1960s it was adopted by the Palestinian Liberation Organization, a prototypical modern terrorist group. In the 60 years since, this flag has always represented a leadership and government, if you can call it that, of the Palestinians who have been terrorists the entire time, every single person in charge. The Palestinian flag was banned in Israel until 1993 when the Oslo Accords brought hope that peace could soon be found, but Palestinian leaders and their Iranian puppet masters have cruelly mocked that hope for decades.Colleges should support free speech, but if they can - and rightfully do - ban Nazi flags or the black flag of Isis, then why shouldnt the Palestinian flag also be banned? We want to believe that there is some peace-loving pro-Palestinian movement out there that abhors terrorism and just wants a reasonable solution, but there isnt. They dont chant demanding Hamas release the hostages and accept a two-state solution, they chant for the destruction of Israel. It is very similar to Black Lives Matter, a phrase which, on the one hand, seemed anodyne and obvious but which also represented hardcore Marxist ideology behind the placid mask of civil rights. And behind demands to protect Palestinian children is almost always the willingness to kill Jews. For all the talk of the online manosphere radicalizing right-wing men, the flurry of political violence of late from the DC murders, to Trump assassination attempts, to arson at Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiros mansion, have been coming from the far left.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONA progressive ideology that apologizes for, and even embraces, violence has taken hold at our prestigious universities, and at its core, loudest of all, are the pro-Palestinian groups, often backed by foreign money. How many more antisemitic assassinations in our nation must there be before we take this problem seriously, before we address the poison being fed to our college kids?We no longer have to accept the twisted rules of wokeness and privilege, we no longer have to lie to ourselves and say that the Palestinian cause has been righteous just because they are supposedly the oppressed group. The pro-Palestinian movement must be judged on its own actions, not on some sliding moral scale that takes into account skin color or privilege points. There must be a line drawn at terrorism. It is not too late to save our countys colleges, and a great start would be to remove the cancer of anti-Israel, anti America, and pro-terror groups from every quad and library in the land.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM DAVID MARCUS

Netanyahu accuses the UK, France and Canada of 'enabling Hamas'
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not hold back in his criticism of U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. The Israeli leaders condemnation comes after the U.K., France and Canada issued a joint statement demanding that Israel end its military campaign in Gaza.In a video statement released on Thursday, Netanyahu said Hamas does not want a Palestinian state; rather, the terror group wants the destruction of the state of Israel. He questioned how this "simple truth evades the leaders of France, Britain, Canada and others." Netanyahu went on to accuse the U.K., France and Canada of giving Hamas "the ultimate prize" in their insistence on the establishment of a Palestinian state.ISRAEL FIRES BACK AT UK OVER SUSPENDED TRADE TALKS, REJECTS EXTERNAL PRESSURE"Well, for 18 years we had a de facto Palestinian state. Its called Gaza. And what did we get? Peace? No. We got the most savage slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust," Netanyahu said in the video statement.Hamas issued a statement thanking the U.K., France and Canada for "rejecting the policy of siege and starvation pursued by the occupation government against our people in the Gaza Strip, and the Zionist plans aimed at genocide and displacement," according to the Jerusalem Post. The terror organization also urged Arab and Islamic countries, the European Union and others "to take urgent action and adopt firm positions and concrete measures to halt the barbaric Zionist aggression," among other things.ISRAELI AMBASSADOR LASHES OUT AT UN OFFICIAL, CONDEMNS UK, FRANCE, CANADA STATEMENT ON AID"I say to President Macron, Prime Minister Carney and Prime Minister Starmer: When mass murderers, rapists, baby killers and kidnappers thank you, you're on the wrong side of justice," Netanyahu said in a video statement on Thursday. "You're on the wrong side of humanity and you're on the wrong side of history."Netanyahu went on to say that while Starmer, Macron and Carney may think they are "advancing peace," theyre actually "emboldening Hamas to continue fighting forever."In response to a Fox News Digital request for comment on Netanyahus statement, Starmers office pointed to the prime ministers post on X condemning the murders of two Israeli Embassy staffers in Washington, D.C.TWO ISRAELI DIPLOMATS SHOT, KILLED DURING EVENT AT CAPITAL JEWISH MUSEUM IN WASHINGTON, DC"I thoroughly condemn the antisemitic attack outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington DC. Antisemitism is an evil we must stamp out wherever it appears. My thoughts are with their colleagues, family and loved ones, and, as always, I stand in solidarity with the Jewish community."Netanyahu also spoke about the murdered embassy employees, saying the two "werent the victims of a random crime. The terrorist who cruelly gunned them down did so for one reason and one reason alone he wanted to kill Jews."Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim were murdered on Wednesday night outside an event at D.C.s Capital Jewish Museum. The two met at the embassy, fell in love, and were supposed to travel to Israel next week, where Lischinsky planned to propose.Prime Minister Mark Carney's office did not immediately respond to a Fox News request for comment. Fox News Digital is attempting to make contact with President Emmanuel Macron's office.

SCOOP: House GOP memo highlights Republican wins in Trump's 'big, beautiful bill'
FIRST ON FOX: An internal House GOP memo sent to Republican lawmakers and obtained by Fox News Digital highlights the party's key accomplishments included in President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill."House Republicans passed all 1,118 pages of Trump's "one big, beautiful bill" on Thursday morning, after working through hourslong committee meetings, huddles in the speaker's office and even a last-minute push from the president. Finally, late Wednesday night, House leadership found consensus among key factions of the Republican caucus. The late-night "manager's amendment" appeased lingering Republican holdouts, including fiscal hawks who wanted more reform on Medicaid and former President Joe Biden's green energy subsidies, and blue state Republicans seeking to raise the cap on the state and local tax (SALT) deduction. The bill is a sweeping multitrillion-dollar piece of legislation that advances Trump's agenda on taxes, immigration, energy, defense and the national debt. It aims to slash the federal government's spending trajectory by cutting roughly $1.5 trillion in government spending. The U.S. government is over $36 trillion in debt and has spent $1.05 trillion more than it has collected in the 2025 fiscal year, according to the Treasury Department. The bill raises the debt ceiling by $4 trillion.MIKE JOHNSON, DONALD TRUMP GET BIG, 'BEAUTIFUL WIN AS BUDGET PASSES HOUSEThe internal House Republican memo shared with Fox News Digital summarizes Republicans' key legislative accomplishments.According to the memo, the bill reduces the deficit by $238 billion through the Agriculture Committee, securing $294 billion through Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefit reform. It reinvests $56 billion in SNAP benefit savings into rural America.HOUSE GOP LEADERSHIP TAKES VICTORY LAP AFTER PASSING TRUMP'S 'ONE BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL'Republicans say the SNAP reform restores its integrity by requiring states to pay a larger share for its benefits and incentivizing more state efficiency. It requires congressional approval for states to increase enrollment eligibility and creates SNAP work requirements for able-bodied adults who do not have young dependents. The Armed Services Committee increased defense spending by nearly $143 billion with improvements to service members' quality of life, healthcare and family support. There are billions of dollars allocated to building the military's arsenal, advancing technology and infrastructure and expanding military readiness. The bill allocates $34 billion for shipbuilding, $5 billion for border security enforcement, $400 million for the Department of Defense and $25 billion for Trump's Golden Dome, which is a layered missile defense shield. It reduces the deficit by $349.1 billion through the Education and Workforce Committee, which made a series of reforms to streamline student loan payment options, support students and save taxpayer money.Specifically, the bill caps the total amount of federal student aid a student can receive annually to the median cost of the college, which is $50,000 for undergrad, $100,000 for graduate students and $150,000 for professional graduate programs. There is also a "lifetime limit" of $200,000.The Education and Workforce Committee consolidated student loans into two plans a fixed mortgage-style plan or a repayment assistance plan.It also establishes a performance-based PROMISE grant program, prevents future attempts at the loan forgiveness program championed by the Biden administration and reforms Pell Grant programs. The Energy and Commerce Committee, which had a lengthy overnight budget markup last week, includes a series of Medicaid reforms, which Democrats have railed against as conservatives pushed for more cuts. The bill establishes work requirements for able-bodied adults without dependents, requires state cost-sharing for adults above the poverty line, eliminates illegal immigrants from enrolling and reduces state funding for states who prioritize coverage for illegal immigrants. The Financial Services Committee in the "big, beautiful bill" includes reforms to save taxpayer money and reduce federal bureaucracy. Meanwhile, the Homeland Security Committee increases spending by a little over $79 billion to expand border security, and the Judiciary Committee increases spending by about $7 billion to stop illegal immigration. The Energy and Commerce Committee also delivered on one of Trump's key campaign promises to unleash American energy by supporting domestic energy production and eliminating Biden-era green energy projects, including eliminating electric vehicle mandates.DEMOCRATS PREDICT PASSING TRUMP'S 'BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL' WILL COST MANY REPUBLICANS THEIR SEATSThe Natural Resources Committee reduces the deficit by $18 billion to deliver Trump's energy agenda. The bill reinstates quarterly onshore oil and gas lease sales, requires geothermal lease sales and mandates at least 30 lease sales in the newly-renamed Gulf of America over the next 15 years and six in the Cook Inlet in south-central Alaska. It returns oil and natural gas royalty rates to before Biden's Inflation Reduction Act, resumes leases on energy production in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, resumes coal leasing on federal lands, increases timber sales and long-term contracts on federal lands and walks back funds allocated by the Biden administration for climate change. The bill includes amendments by the Oversight Committee that will reduce the deficit by $12 billion by eliminating retirement annuity payments for new federal retirees that are eligible to retire before age 62, allows new federal employee hires the option to elect to serve "at will" in exchange for higher take-home pay, requires a comprehensive audit of employee dependents currently enrolled in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program plans.TRUMP'S 'BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL' PASSES KEY HOUSE HURDLE AFTER GOP REBEL MUTINYFinally, the Ways and Means Committee makes the 2017 tax cuts permanent, which prevents a 22% tax hike, and delivers Trump's campaign promises, including no taxes on tips, overtime pay or car loan interests. It also provides additional tax relief for seniors. The bill increases the university endowment tax and subjects the largest endowments to the corporate tax rate.As touted in the House GOP memo, the bill also prevents taxpayer benefits from going to illegal immigrants by requiring a Social Security number for individuals claiming tax credits and deductions, ends illegal immigrant eligibility for Obamacare premium tax credits and Medicare, and applies new remittance payment fees for illegal immigrants. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed in the U.S. House of Representatives 215 to 214. All Democrats and just two Republicans, Reps. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., and Warren Davidson, R-Ohio, voted against it. House Freedom Caucus Chair Andy Harris, R-Md., voted "present."Now, the Senate is tasked with passing their own version of the bill before it lands on Trump's desk. Republican leadership is eyeing a July 4 deadline, but sparks are likely to fly in the Senate before Trump can claim a legislative victory.

Justice Department officials are considering additional charges against Elias Rodriguez, the Chicago man accused of killing two Israeli Embassy staffers on Wednesday evening in Washington, D.C., Fox News has learned.Hate crimes and terrorism charges are among those being considered, according to sources briefed on the matter. The charges could be filed as early as today.Rodriguez, 31, has already been charged with the murder of foreign officials, a federal capital offense, along with multiple firearm-related counts and two counts of first-degree murder. If convicted of either of the first two counts, he could face the death penalty. Under D.C. law, a conviction for first-degree murder carries a minimum sentence of 30 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life behind bars.GUNMAN KILLS ISRAELI EMBASSY COUPLE IN WASHINGTON, FOLLOWING DECADES OF EMBASSY-TARGETED ATTACKSRodriguez waived his right to a detention hearing and will be held without bond while he awaits trial. He was ordered back to court on June 18 for a preliminary hearing. The shooting Wednesday night happened during an event hosted by the American Jewish Committee, which brought together Jewish professionals and members of the diplomatic community.According to the affidavit, one of the victims, Yaron Lischinsky, 31, was an Israeli citizen who had been granted "official guest" status by the U.S. State Department. The other victim, Sarah Milgrim, 26, was also employed by the Israeli Embassy. The young couple was set to be engaged.Surveillance footage, according to the affidavit, showed a suspect, who was wearing a blue jacket with a hood, a large dark-colored backpack and blue pants, approaching the couple from behind as they were about to enter a crosswalk.Investigators say Rodriguez drew a 9 mm handgun and opened fire without provocation.POLICE RAID DC SHOOTING SUSPECT ELIAS RODRIGUEZ'S CHICAGO APARTMENTAfter the victims collapsed, he moved closer and continued firing, the affidavit said. Milgrim tried to crawl away, but Rodriguez continued shooting at her.Investigators say Rodriguez paused to reload and then fired at her again before fleeing toward the museums entrance. Authorities recovered 21 shell casings, an empty handgun and a discarded magazine at the scene.A preliminary autopsy found that Milgrim suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken from the scene by the District of Columbia's Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DCFEMS) to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia. She was pronounced dead at 9:35 p.m. Wednesday. Autopsy results are pending.Lischinsky was pronounced dead by DCFEMS at 9:14 p.m. Wednesday. His autopsy results are pending.Katie Kalisher, who was at the museum Wednesday night, told "FOX & Friends" on Thursday that she had an interaction with Rodriguez prior to his arrest. She said Rodriguez who looked distressed and was covered in rain came into the facility after 10 to 15 gunshots were heard outside and asked for somebody to call the police."Im like, so, do you like this museum? And hes like, kind of playing dumb with me. Hes like, oh, what kind of museum is this? And Im like its a Jewish museum. He asks Do you think that is why they did it? in reference to gunshots we had heard. And I was like, yeah maybe, I dont know but I dont think so, I hope not," Kalisher said. "And that is when he reaches into his bag and pulls out a kaffiyeh and says to me, I did it. I did this for Gaza. And then he starts shouting Free, Free Palestine! and the police show up and arrest him."

Whether it's powering your phones autocorrect or helping someone create a new recipe with a few words, artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere right now. But if you're still nodding along when someone mentions "neural networks" or "generative AI," you're not alone.Today I am breaking down five buzzy AI terms that you've probably seen in headlines, group chats or app updates, minus the tech talk. Understanding these basics will help you talk AI with confidence, even if youre not a programmer.Stay tuned for morein this series as we dive deeper into privacy-related tech terms and other essential concepts, answering the top questions we get from readers like you.JOIN THE FREE CYBERGUY REPORT: GET MY EXPERT TECH TIPS, CRITICAL SECURITY ALERTS AND EXCLUSIVE DEALS, PLUS INSTANT ACCESS TO MYFREE ULTIMATE SCAM SURVIVAL GUIDE WHEN YOU SIGN UP!The big umbrella termArtificial Intelligence is a broad term for computer systems that can do tasks normally requiring human intelligence. That includes understanding language, recognizing images, making decisions and even learning from experience.Youre using AI when:Think of AI as the category; everything else on this list is a branch of it. Its the foundation for all the smart tools we use today, from voice assistants to facial recognition. As AI continues to evolve, it has the power to make everyday tasks easier, faster and more personalized. But as it becomes more embedded in our lives, understanding the basics is key to using it wisely and protecting your digital autonomy.AI TECHNOLOGY HELPS REUNITE LOST DOGS WITH THEIR OWNERSHow AI learns patternsMachine Learning is a type of AI that learns from data instead of being explicitly programmed. It improves over time by finding patterns and making predictions. For example:You like action movies. You watch a few. Over time, the algorithm learns your preferences and recommends similar titles, even if you didnt say anything directly.Common uses of ML:ML is how AI "gets smarter" by itself, and it's a big part of how tech becomes more helpful and intuitive. From catching suspicious charges on your credit card to curating your favorite music, machine learning can make life more seamless and even safer. But as with any technology, its important to stay aware of how your data is being used and whos doing the learning. The more we understand how it works, the better we can decide how and when to trust it.5 MOBILE PRIVACY TERMS YOU NEED TO KNOW TO PROTECT YOURSELFThe tech that mimics your brainNeural Networks are a special kind of machine learning designed to mimic how the human brain works, at least loosely. They're made up of layers of "neurons" that process data and make decisions.Theyre particularly good at recognizing complex patterns, like identifying faces in photos or translating languages.Use cases include:If AI is the brain, neural networks are the brain cells doing the work. Neural networks are the part of AI that actually processes information. Theyre designed to mimic how human brains work, taking in data, learning patterns and making decisions. So, when AI recognizes a face, writes a sentence or makes a suggestion, its neural networks making that happen behind the scenes.AI SYSTEM RESTORES SPEECH FOR PARALYZED PATIENTS USING OWN VOICEJoin the FREE "CyberGuy Report" for more tips like this.FOX NEWS AI NEWSLETTER: THE SCHOOL WHERE AI RUNS THE CLASSROOMAI that creates, not just predictsGenerative AI doesnt just analyze data, it creates new stuff: text, images, videos, code, music, even voices. Its trained on huge amounts of content and learns how to generate something new that mimics the original.Youve seen it in action if youve used:Its like giving a machine a vibe and watching it invent something that fits. Generative AI is creative, fast and sometimes uncannily realistic, which is what makes it both exciting and a little unsettling.Think you can tell the difference?Be sure toplay my game to guess which photo is AI and which one is real. Its harder than you think and a good reminder that as these tools get more advanced, staying alert and informed is more important than ever.WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?FIND THE FAKE: KITTENSThe magic words that make AI workAprompt is the input you give to an AI system, usually a question, command or description. Its how you talk to tools like ChatGPT or image generators. The better your prompt, the better the result.Examples:Prompts are to AI what questions are to Google, but with more creativity and conversation. Unlike a search engine that simply points you to existing content, AI can generate entirely new ideas, images and text based on what you ask. Its more than a search box; its a creative tool. Whether youre drafting a story, designing a logo or planning a vacation, learning how to prompt effectively lets you tap into AIs full potential as a collaborator, not just an information source.DON'T MISS OUT ON THESE MEMORIAL DAY BEST DEALS & DISCOUNTSYou dont need a computer science degree to understand AI, just a few solid definitions.
