Boston Red Sox fans are apparently taking their frustrations out on social media after the Rafael Devers trade.Shortly after the Sox completed a three-game sweep of their arch-rival New York Yankees, they sent Devers, who homered on Sunday over the Green Monster, to the San Francisco Giants.The writing had been on the wall for some time after the Sox signed third baseman Alex Bregman, and eventually, Devers refused to play first base. The idea behind the changes to the provider rate taxes was to help pay for Trumps mammoth bill in part and discourage the remaining states from opting into Medicaid expansion.Sen. College baseball nearly saw a miracle at Messiah University this year.The Messiah Falcons made a run all the way to the Division III World Series championship game on June 5 in one of the most historic seasons in program history.But for coach Phillip Shallenberger and his team, the goal wasn't even to get there. Messiah pitcher Daniel Knight told Fox News Digital.About halfway through this season, after a 1-6 start, the team underwent a priority shift. No longer did they show up to the clubhouse every day with a main goal to win. Now, they were simply serving Christ."We used to sit in the video room, and we would show the other pitcher and show what the other team does and really focus on what they were doing," Shallenberger said. "And then at about that point we started shifting toward just diving into the Word a little bit more. Like, How does God want us to lead?"It was a bit more on the devotionals and bit less on the scouts. And that was actually about the time we started to play a lot better."Shallenberger even made his players carry 250-pound crosses as a team workout."We do that right in the middle of our conference season in between games," Shallenberger said.But one time, Knight did the cross-carrying workout just before a game on April 17 against Eastern. He threw eight and a third shutout innings with nine strikeouts in that game.It marked a shocking turnaround for Knight, who got off to a poor start to the season with a 9.26 ERA."It was kind of a wake-up call for me is that you know what the most important thing we can do is glorify God and always having that at our forefront if that means sacrificing being at our best physically and the more reason to rely on the Lord and his strength those are the choices that started to be made after that point," Knight said.ARCHAEOLOGISTS UNCOVER EARLIEST KNOWN EVIDENCE OF CHRISTIANITY NORTH OF THE ALPS: 'UNUSUAL FOR THIS TIME'Knight said the change came on a morning when he was reading scripture and heard God tell him, Its not about you.'"When I was focused on myself, I was becoming depressed. From there, they became one of the hottest teams in Divison III, winning 16 of their next 19.Along the way, Shallenberger and his players started adding scripture to their play-call wristbands, where they used to place pitches and signs."It would say, Whatever, bunt defense, or whatever we wanted. But [Shallenberger] also added some sayings, like one was like, Surrender your hands' or Jesus over everything," said infielder Drew Hurst."So I know for me, there would be multiple times where either I would make an error or strike out to end an inning and then run on the field and maybe be a little bit p---ed off at myself. Its the Finals, man," Haliburton added. "Ive worked my whole life to be here. And I want to be out there to compete, help my teammates any way I can."It goes without saying how vital Haliburtons presence in the Pacers starting five is, especially when it comes to crunch time in the fourth quarter. An Illinois grand jury has filed an indictment against an Illinois high school teacher on 52 additional charges relating to the alleged sexual assault and abuse of a student in 2023.Video released in April showed 30-year-old Christina Formella getting pulled over during a traffic stop and being taken into custody after being charged with various sex crimes for having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student in 2023.Formella had been accused of sexually assaulting the boy in a classroom during a tutoring session before class began at Downers Grove South High School in December 2023. The victims mother discovered the alleged assault when looking through her sons text message thread on his cellphone and then contacted police, prosecutors said.During Formella's first court appearance March 17, she was charged with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of criminal sexual assault.HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING FORMER TEEN STUDENT AT HER HOMEOn Tuesday, DuPage County States Attorney Robert Berlin announced that Formella had been indicted on 52 additional counts involving previously unknown sexual abuse and assault of the student.The grand jury indicted Formella on 20 counts of sexual assault, 20 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, six counts of indecent solicitation of a child and six counts of grooming, all felony charges.Berlins office said in a news release March 15 the victim, who was 15 at the time of the alleged assault, went to the Downers Grove Police Department with his parents to report inappropriate sexual contact allegedly committed by the boys tutor and soccer coach, who was later identified as Formella.MARRIED OHIO SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR, 43, LEARNS SENTENCE FOR SEX WITH TEEN STUDENT IN OFFICEThe Downers Grove Police Department and DuPage County Childrens Advocacy Center opened an investigation, which led to the initial charges.A further investigation that involved interviews with the victim in which he alleged additional sexual abuse by Formella, determined the sexual abuse began in January 2023 and continued through August or September 2024.During that time period, Berlins office said, Formella allegedly sent the boy multiple text messages that were "grooming in nature." The investigation also found the victim and Formella allegedly engaged in sexual acts about 50 times, both at the school and at Formellas home. The allegations claim the two engaged in sex acts at least 45 times at the school.ALABAMA KINDERGARTEN TEACHER, 49, ACCUSED OF ENTICING TEEN INTO BATHROOM FOR SEXUAL ENCOUNTER"The new allegations against Ms. Formella, including the allegations of grooming and that the abuse lasted nearly two years, are beyond disturbing," Berlin said. "I thank the victim in this case for having the courage to come forward during what I imagine is an extremely difficult time for him."I also thank the DuPage County Childrens Center, particularly Investigator George Fencl, as well as Assistant States Attorneys Jaclyn McAndrew and Michael Fisher for their work not only in this case but for their continued efforts protecting our children."Formella appeared in court Tuesday morning for a status hearing, where the state filed a second petition to deny her pretrial release, though Judge Mia McPherson denied the request.Her next appearance is scheduled for Aug. 4.Bodycam footage of Formellas arrest showed her appearing confused when police asked her to exit the vehicle during a traffic stop.They then arrested her and placed her in the back of a police vehicle, where she asked questions about her detention.Formella could be heard sobbing in the back seat of a police vehicle and asked for her husband, her childhood sweetheart whom she married last year, according to reports."I feel like Im gonna throw up," she said in the March 16 video, continuing to cry in the back seat.Formella, who was also a soccer coach, began tutoring the alleged victim after he broke his collarbone, and they began messaging each other on a school platform, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
