Bears legend Brian Urlacher shares stance on trans athletes in girls' sports as issue rocks Illinois
Former Chicago Bears star linebacker Brian Urlacher made his stance known on the issue of transgender athletes in women's and girls' sports as the debate creates a divide in the state where he made his reputation Illinois.Urlacher shared his opinion on the issue during an interview on the "Global View" podcast on May 9 and questioned why it is even a debate in some circles."Why is it even a debate? A woman is a woman and a man is a man you're born with what you're born with," Urlacher said.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMUrlacher even referenced an ongoing controversy in Minnesota, where a transgender pitcher is currently dominating the girls' softball season. The trans athlete reportedly won 14 straight games heading into the playoffs and earned first-team All-State honors rocked the state in recent weeks."It's just different because we are men, there are certain things we do better than women, and it's just, number one, it's not fair, and if I had a daughter who had to be forced to play against a man I would not be okay with it and I would raise hell about it," Urlacher said."I just don't get it, it's a common sense thing, I just don't see how you can push this and make someone thing they're a different sex."EX-VIKINGS PLAYER RIPS MINNESOTA AG AS STATE SUES TRUMP TO KEEP TRANS ATHLETES IN GIRLS' SPORTSThe Pro Football Hall of Famer praised President Donald Trump for signing the "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports" executive order at the White House on Feb. 5.Illinois has become a hotbed of controversy over the issue of trans athlete inclusion in recent days after a biological male competed in a seventh-grade track meet against biological females at the Naper Prairie Conference Meet. The incident resulted in a Naperville 203 Community School District Board meeting descending into a heated debate over the issue on Monday.Awake Illinois has filed a civil rights complaint against the district, with the Education Departments Office for Civil Rights alleging a violation of Title IX.They called on federal funds to be withheld from the district, which it says receives between $8 million and $9 million in federal grants annually. The complaint is part of a broader effort by Awake Illinois, which previously filed similar Title IX complaints against other districts and the Illinois State Board of Education.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Biden aide intimidated reporter investigating former president's mental decline with 'tacit threat:' Book
Former President Joe Bidens deputy chief of staff allegedly used aggressive tactics with a reporter trying to cover his mental and physical decline, according to a new book."Original Sin," by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, reported that "weeks" before the explosive Wall Street Journal story detailing concern about Biden's decline came out in June, Steve Ricchetti, former White House deputy chief of staff, strongly denied claims that the president was slipping to another journalist."[A] reporter with a different national news outlet had been hearing from White House aides that behind the scenes the president was having serious and disturbing moments, forgetting names and facts, sometimes seeming seriously confused at meetings," the book read.CBS NEWS REPORTER SAYS WSJ'S 'COURAGEOUS' 2024 REPORT ON BIDEN'S DECLINE SHOULD HAVE WON THE PULITZER"The reporter reached out to members of the White House press office, which not only aggressivelyand angrilydisputed her reporting but also took the unusual step of having Steve Ricchetti call her," the book said. "He talked to her off the record, so she couldn't use any of what he said or even attribute it to a White House source. But he told her that everything the others were saying was false, and that he was at the meetings as a counselor to the president."According to Tapper and Thompson, the Biden White House was going all out trying to control the perception of his health."The message from the White House was clear, this reporter believed: If she went forward with the story from anonymous aides, the White House would aggressively dispute it, on the record, and portray her as a liar," the book reads. "The tacit threat worked."The White House also reportedly asked Democrats interviewed by the Wall Street Journal for the report on Biden's mental acuity to call the outlet back and push back on "false" accounts, with one congressman reportedly defending the president's sharpness, while admitting to a reporter he was told to call back.Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm and other members of the cabinet bashed the Wall Street Journal article, telling Fox News Digital, "The article was BS.""The president is utterly on his game," she added. "He is the wisest, most knowledgeable person in the room.He asks the toughest questions and has the keenest insights on the complex questions brought to him.He is sharp, thoughtful and wise."WALL STREET JOURNAL CALLS OUT TAPPER FOR SNEERING AT PAPER'S STORY ABOUT BIDEN'S DECLINEOther outlets felt the wrath of the Biden administration when trying to report the story that was obvious to the rest of the country. The Biden White House let the New York Times know it was "extremely upset" about its coverage of Biden's age, according to the papers publisher, A.G. Sulzberger in February 2024."I think the Biden team made it really hard to ask questions about his health they shamed you, said you didnt like him, etc.," former CNN journalist Chris Cillizza admitted to Fox News Digital, noting that many reporters, including himself, "Let that be that."EX-CNN JOURNALIST SPEAKS OUT ON BIDEN COVER-UP, SAYS WHITE HOUSE AIDES MADE IT DIFFICULT ON PRESSThompson told the White House Correspondents' Dinner in April, "President Biden's decline and its cover-up by the people around him is a reminder that every White House, regardless of party, is capable of deception."Fox News Digital reached out to a spokesperson for Biden for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.

Knicks, Pacers to rekindle epic rivalry that featured some of NBA's most iconic moments
The Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks will play Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals on Wednesday night in Madison Square Garden, where they will add another chapter to their storied playoff history. The Knicks and Pacers clashed in the playoffs six times from 1993-2000, with those series littered with heated moments between players and fans alike.Below are some of the most iconic moments from the clashes between the bitter rivals over the years.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe Knicks were up to 2-0 over the Pacers in the first round of the NBA playoffs in 1993 when tempers flared in the third quarter. Knicks star guard John Starks, after scoring, was trash-talking towards Reggie Miller. The trash-talk culminated with Starks headbutting Miller. Starks was promptly ejected from the game. The Pacers won that Game 3, but the Knicks won the ensuing Game 4 and the series. However, the groundwork for the bitterness between the teams was laid with the headbutt. In 1994, the two teams met again, this time in the Eastern Conference finals. The Knicks were looking to take a commanding 3-2 lead in Game 5 and were up 70-58 in the third quarter. However, Miller dominated the fourth quarter, wheres he scored 25 of his 39 points. Throughout the fourth quarter, Miller was going back and forth with Knicks superfan Spike Lee.Miller taunted Lee by making a now-infamous choke gesture. The Pacers won that Game 5 behind Millers strong performance but lost the next two games, and the Knicks won the series in seven games and went to the NBA Finals.SHAQUILLE O'NEAL WEIGHS IN ON NBA DRAFT LOTTERY AMID CONTROVERSIAL RESULTSFor the third straight year, the Pacers and Knicks faced off in the playoffs in 1995, this time in the Eastern Conference semifinals.Miller, who had been at the heart of the rivalry, authored one of the most incredulous comebacks in NBA playoff history. The Knicks were up 105-99 with16 seconds left in the fourth quarter of Game 1 when Miller turned the game on its head by scoring eight points in nine seconds. The Pacers star drilled a 3-pointer with about 16 seconds left, then hit another 3-pointer after he stole the Knicks' inbound pass. After the Knicks missed a pair of free throws and a put-back attempt, Miller grabbed the rebound and was subsequently fouled.Miller went to the free throw line, buried two free throws, and gave the Pacers a 107-105 lead. The 1995 series, like the 1994 matchup, went the full seven games, but the Pacers prevailed this time and moved on to the Eastern Conference finals. The two teams met in the 1998 Eastern Conference semifinals, but the Pacers were heavy favorites due to Knicks star Patrick Ewings wrist injury. The Pacers dispatched the Knicks in five games. However, in the 1999 Eastern Conference finals, the two teams met again, and the Knicks were not as overmatched as they were the prior season. The Knicks won the series in six games, with Johnson delivering one of the most iconic shots in franchise history in Game 3.The Pacers held a 91-88 lead with six seconds left in the game when Johnson nailed a 3-pointer and was also fouled by Antonio Davis. Johnson hit the free throw to give the Knicks a 92-91 lead, and that score would hold as the Knicks snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat. The Pacers and Knicks played again in the Eastern Conference finals in 2000, and the Pacers outlasted the Knicks in six games, getting revenge for 1999.The next time the two teams met in the playoffs was 2013 in the Eastern Conference semifinals, with new stars involved to reignite the rivalry. The Paul George-led Pacers took down the Carmelo Anthony-led Knicks in six games. The two teams wouldnt see each other in the playoffs again until last season in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Pacers dispatched a Knicks team that was decimated by injury in Game 7 with a historic shooting performance. The Pacers shot an astounding 67.1% from the field in that Game 7, good for an NBA playoff record, in their 130-109 victory. The Pacers hold a 5-3 series record over the Knicks in the playoffs and hold a 26-22 playoff record against the Knicks.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Its the greatest feeling," McDonough said.Neal and wife Ruv have been married more than two decades. It was awesome."However, filming the kissing scene took a humorous turn when their daughter, London, was on set during her parents' take.WATCH: NEAL MCDONOUGH SHARES HOW SYLVESTER STALLONE SUPPORTED HIS FILM THE LAST RODEO"Our daughter London was there, and she was like, Dad, can you stop? Because I'm famous for one, maybe two takes eight or nine takes through. I'm like, Jon, I need one more. I didnt get that right. And there we are, mackin again. And theres London, Oh dad, you're grossing me out."McDonough explained that he got to show "my love for my wife," knowing the moment was going to be showcased on an 80-foot screen."Watching me love the thing that I love more than anything on this planet for me, it was the crowning achievement of everything I've done in my life."Ups and downs, the hard times I went through because of choices I've made, now are all in the rearview mirror. And I couldn't be happier because all of it was directed by one of my greatest friends, my mentor, my big brother, John Avnet, and I wouldn't be here without you."While "The Last Rodeo" focused on themes of faith, family and redemption in the high-adrenaline world of bull riding, director Avnet shared with Fox News Digital how he tied all the subjects together in his latest project and what it was like working alongside his longtime friend, McDonough.WATCH: THE LAST RODEO DIRECTOR COMPARES NEAL MCDONOUGH TO CLINT EASTWOOD"I really believed in Neil as an actor, and I believed he was a leading man in the model of Clint Eastwood, you know, or John Wayne or Gary Cooper, Jimmy Stewart," Avnet said."He has an ability to express so much by doing seemingly so little, but, in this case, he was emotionally there. Here's Neil, no longer a kid. And I think, 'Wow, he's got it. He's got that Western star appeal.'"CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERFox News Digital additionally spoke with McDonough and his wife at a Professional Bull Riders event in Arlington, Texas, where "The Last Rodeo" star shared what his intense training consisted of. For me, it was mostly mechanical bulls for months and months and months. And that beats the snot out of you. And it was hard, but I just didn't want anything to not look 100% authentic."In "The Last Rodeo," McDonough portrays a retired rodeo legend who risked it all to save his sick grandson. As he faced his own painful past and the fears of his family, McDonough's character entered a high-stakes bull riding competition as the oldest contestant ever.Along the way, he reconciles old wounds with his estranged daughter and proves that true courage is found in the fight for family."The Last Rodeo" will be released in theaters May 23.Fox News Digital's Larry Fink contributed to this report.

Trump-Harvard feud sparks debate among students about discrimination in admissions
President Donald Trumps probe into Harvard Universitys admissions policies has sparked intense debate among the schools faculty and students, with some highlighting the elite school's faults."I think this university has gone through a lot of conflict with the student body. I think that a lot of these concerns are warranted, but I suspect the political nature of some of these investigations and attention," said Kem, a public policy major who did not disclose his year and last name. The Department of Educations Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism released a statement on May 13, announcing a cut in $450 million in grants from the university, citing that the university has "repeatedly failed to confront the pervasive race discrimination and antisemitic harassment plaguing its campus," in the wake of the Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attack against Israel and ensuing Gaza War.Furthermore, the Trump administration has frozen $2.2 billion in funding to the university and threatened to revoke itstax-exempt status due to the Ivy League school's alleged failure to address antisemitism on campus. Harvard hit back with a lawsuit last month over the funding freeze, saying it was unlawful.HARVARD SUES TRUMP ADMINISTRATION OVER 'UNLAWFUL' MULTIBILLION-DOLLAR BUDGET CUTSA native of Thailand, Kem said that he has not heard his classmates or faculty members complain about being discriminated against. He added that he heard "talk" of Harvards nonprofit status being revoked."I wouldn't be surprised if these kinds of actions are considered," he said.Fox News Digital spoke with Harvey Mansfield, a retired professor of over 60 years, at his farm estate in Ipswich, Massachusetts, a rural town outside of Boston."Harvard has found out what it means to lean one way and especially to the left. That was a great mistake, and I am glad to see it being corrected and brought to an end," Mansfield said.Mansfield went on to say, "I agree with the critics, I think it is a manner of discrimination. We shouldn't judge people by their race or by sex. I think that's wrong, and it's wrong according to the Supreme Court decision. Recently, it really has had a great effect on Harvard and other universities."Mansfield, 93, taught political science and political philosophy at Harvard. The author of the book "Dead White Males" first attended Harvard at age 17.He added the university and Trump are on the right track. However, Mansfield believes that Trumps demands for Harvard are too "invasive" and the demands the commander-in-chief is putting on Harvard could not be met by the university."I think it's headed towards adding more conservatives; changing the viewpoint of our general attitude towards Harvard. Harvard has a massive imbalance in favor of the left, and it needs to correct that and that's not going to be easy," the former academic said. Some Harvard students suggested that the school should do better at admitting students from beyond an upper-class background. For instance, senior Aidan Fitzsimmons said that the school seems to admit applicants from similar backgrounds."It does kind of feel like 70% of the kids here come from the same kinds of high schools, the same kind of zip codes. Same top 15, 20% of the U.S. in common. It is kind of shocking to me how a rich kid from a D.C. suburb or a (San Francisco) SF suburb or a New York suburb and an LA suburb or a Boston suburbyou know, a lot of them feel a lot more similar to one another," Fitzsimmons said.Leo Koerner, a junior and history major and president of the university's College Republicans, said Harvards "elitism" is part of the fabric of the university."The question is whether, if Harvard wants to take seriously its commitment to intellectual diversity. If they want to do that, then yeah, they have to start letting in people from the heartland of America," he said. "The question is, how are they going to recruit those people, how are you going to get them here? That's a bigger question. But I don't think you're going to take the elitism out of Harvard.""If the Trump DOJ wants to come after Harvard, I'm sure they would be able to find something," third-year law student Andrew Hayes said.HARVARD UPDATES LAWSUIT AFTER TRUMP CANCELS ADDITIONAL $450M IN FUNDINGHayes told Fox News Digital that Harvard University and Harvard Law School, in particular, have been debating over the highly selective schools admissions policies."I know a lot of the controversy has been centered at the college, but here at the law school as well," he said."I know there's been a lot of controversy over whether the law review in particular and some of the law school admissions and some of the administration here at the law school have been in compliance. Especially where federal grants are involved or anything like that. I know there's been a lot of discussion on campus about what the law review and about what the administration have been doing in terms of admissions, and whether there's subtle or not so subtle racial discrimination going on," he continued.Hayes also reacted to a report from the New York Times that Trump is using the Department of Justice to investigate whether Harvards admissions policies comply with a Supreme Court ruling that ended affirmative action.Hayes cited the student activist group Students for Fair Admissions (SFFA) case against Harvard that resulted in the Suprme Court ruling, rejecting the use of race as a factor in college admissions.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"I mean, obviously the school needs to be... a lot more careful after the SFFA," he said. "I think it's a very near review of equity that people in the admissions office and in the administration of the school here have. I think there probably are a lot of discriminatory practices that are getting swept under the rug for now and so, I don't know if they'll come from journalists or come from a prosecution or lawsuit or whatever, but I think there's probably a lot to see once you look under the hood."

Suicide car bomber attacks school bus in Pakistan, killing at least 5 people
A suicide car bomber struck a school bus in Pakistan on Wednesday, killing five people, including at least three children, and wounding 38 others, according to officials. This is just the latest attack in Balochistan province, which has seen a long-running insurgency, with an array of separatist groups carrying out attacks, including the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army, or BLA, which has been designated as a terror group by the U.S. in 2019.A local deputy commissioner, Yasir Iqbal, said the attack on Wednesday happened on the outskirts of the city of Khuduzar as the bus was taking children to their military-run school in the area.Troops quickly arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area as ambulances rushed the victims to hospitals.TRUMP VOWS TO INCREASE TRADE WITH INDIA PAKISTAN AFTER PRAISING CEASEFIRE AGREEMENT: 'A JOB WELL DONE!'No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but ethnic Baloch separatists, who frequently target security forces and civilians in the region, are likely to be blamed.Pakistans Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack and expressed deep sorrow following the childrens deaths. Both countries rule part of Kashmir but claim full control. The escalation prompted fears of a broader war, and the BLA during this time appealed to India for support, although India has not commented on the appeal. The Associated Press contributed to this report.
