Diddy's ex's testimony could provide powerful corroboration to allegations in sex crimes trial: expert

Sean "Diddy" Combs' ex-girlfriend took the stand Monday and testified for the third day in the rapper's federal trial for sex crimes. His ex, who testified under the pseudonym "Jane," told prosecutors that there were times she felt coerced into hotel nights with Diddy and that the Bad Boy Records founder still pays for both her legal fees and rent.Jane recalled alleged instances of abuse while dating Diddy on and off for three years and up until the week before he was arrested in New York City on federal charges. Jennifer Beidel, a former assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York who now practices at Dykema, told Fox News Digital that Jane's testimony may be "powerful" to the jury.DIDDY FILES FOR MISTRIAL OVER ALLEGED FALSE TESTIMONY IN FEDERAL COURT ABOUT 2016 BALCONY INCIDENT"Jane Doe commented on the consistency between her experience and that of Cassie Ventura after she read Venturas civil lawsuit," Beidel said. "If the jury also finds the two womens experiences similar, Jane Does testimony becomes powerful corroboration of Venturas testimony. Adding in the voice memos could lend even more credence to the two womens accounts, as those voice memos are evidence of Mr. Combs views at the time in his own words."Jane told the court that Diddy asked her about coercion after he allegedly forced her to take drugs before having sex with a male escort. She testified about Diddy's alleged violent behavior and said he once put her in a chokehold after kicking and punching her. The jury was shown video evidence of Jane's injuries, which included a bruised eye and welts on her forehead.Texts shown in federal court on Monday between Diddy and Jane revealed that she felt manipulated and wanted monetary income. The rapper allegedly texted Jane back, "F--- you." Jane allegedly told Diddy, "You're the only opportunist ... you had three years of fun with my body ... you were a full time job and consumed my life." The "Last Night" rapper allegedly texted back that he was blocking Jane's number and also calling the police."You conned me into sucking d--- for you," Jane allegedly texted. After several texts, she wrote, "I'm going to kill myself.""Early in the trial, the prosecutors introduced extensive evidence to support their theory that Combs used violence and threats of violence to coerce Ventura into engaging in sexual activity," former federal prosecutor Mark Chutkow told Fox News Digital. "However, the prosecutions evidence of Jane Does alleged coercion centers more on emotional manipulation than violence. That could prove to be a weakness for the prosecution case because Janes evidence was introduced later in the trial, closer to when the jurors will deliberate."Mark Chuktow, who now practices at Dykema, added, "As a result, it might dilute the impact of Venturas earlier testimony because Janes evidence is less clear-cut regarding whether Combs coerced her to engage in sexual activity. To counter this, the prosecutors might put more weight in closing arguments on the evidence that Combs blackmailed both women into complying with his sexual demands through threats of destroying their reputations and careers by publicly exposing the video recordings of their participation in the freak-offs."Blackmail like this might resonate more with the jury than Combs emotional manipulation of Jane when deciding whether or not the victims consented to the sexual activity."BILLY BUSH SAYS DIDDY'S ALLEGED BALCONY INCIDENT ECHOES SICK BEHAVIOR IN HIT TV SHOWLIKE WHAT YOURE READING? However, they are unlikely to be shocked by Janes testimony given what everyone else has said thus far."This trial is a lengthy process for jurors, and recordings and videos of the testimonies typically fare better than readings."Jane also testified to being with Diddy when she saw the video of the rapper assaulting Cassie Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in 2016. Why Trumps constant attacks and his sniping with Elon Musk helps him and keeps the media scrambling
    www.foxnews.com
Donald Trump is relishing all this, flaming every target in sight or trying to put out fires in Los Angeles as a president who loves being at war.Elon Musk, clearly missing the spotlight, is using X as a weapon, calling for his former pal's impeachment but deleting his tweet tying Trump to Jeffrey Epstein in what might be viewed as an apology.Gavin Newsom is all fired up, daring Trump's border czar to arrest him and accusing the president of inflaming the situation by dispatching the National Guard over his objections.TRUMP BORDER CZAR RESPONDS TO NEWSOM'S 'ARREST ME' CHALLENGE AS CALIFORNIA RIOTS OVER ICE RAIDSThe media are eagerly drinking from the Trump fire hose in the greatest, most entertaining breakup since Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were denouncing each other. But several journalists were injured covering the violent L.A. protests, even as they reported that the vast majority of demonstrators are peaceful. And for me, it meant a crazy hour of television. We made lots of last-minute changes on "Media Buzz," but the biggest one involved ABC correspondent and anchor Terry Moran. I was tapping out the script on my phone during commercial breaks. For reasons I'll never be able to fathom, Moran posted a scathing attack on White House domestic policy chief Stephen Miller, calling him a "world-class hater." He also put Trump in the same category.LIBERALS, ANTI-TRUMP FIGURES BASH ABC FOR SUSPENDING TERRY MORAN OVER SOCIAL MEDIA RANTOn Maria Bartiromo's show, which airs before mine, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said Moran should be suspended or fired. Shortly after we went off the air, ABC suspended Moran, saying he had violated company standards. Ill never fathom why he blew up his career. You can't overcover a public meltdown like this Trump now saying Musk had "worn thin" and he'd asked him to leave but journalists have a high-minded justification for the low-rent sniping. The president's entire agenda is wrapped up in the not-so-beautiful bill, including border funding, tax cuts, food stamps and trimming the Medicaid rolls. The measure passed the House by a single vote because a number of hard-line Republicans agree with Musk that it's a "disgusting abomination" which, at a minimum, would boost the deficit by $2.4 billion over 10 years. But Trump is like a movie studio mogul who simultaneously moves from one sound stage to the next. And that is a challenge to journalists who race to keep upbut also boosts ratings as he constantly taking questions from the reporters and producers he also denigrates. Its a love-hate relationship, but lately, mostly hate.BOLD MOVE TO KEEP AMERICANS SAFE FROM TERRORISTS IS BASIS FOR US TRAVEL BAN FOR SOME AFRICAN NATIONSTrump issued a travel ban on 12 countries, mostly in the Middle East and Africa. Big story.Trump brought Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the U.S., after saying it couldnt be done, and the mistakenly deported Salvadoran will face charges of human trafficking of illegal migrants months after the Supreme Court ordered his return.Trump is battling elite law firms, many of which are caving and agreeing to provide up to $125 million in free services rather than lose access to classified material that would cause an exodus of clients. Big story.Trump backed off on criticizing Vladimir Putin after that incredible Ukrainian drone strike decimated a third of the Russian fleet, thousands of miles away. Now he says he may walk away from a war in which Putin has no conceivable interest in peace. Big story.ZELENSKYY DISMISSES TRUMP'S CLAIM THAT RUSSIA WANTS PEACE, SAYS HE KNOWS PUTIN 'MUCH BETTER'Trump issued a wave of controversial pardons, especially one for a man who committed fraud by stealing from his employees, which came after his mother, a big-time GOP donor, paid $1 million to get face time with the president at a Mar-a-Lago fundraising dinner. Now he avoids a jail term and having to make over $4 million in restitution to his victims. Big story.Trump is freezing funds for Harvard and investigating the Harvard Law Review. Big stories.SUBSCRIBE TO HOWIE'S MEDIA BUZZMETER PODCAST, A RIFF ON THE DAY'S HOTTEST STORIESTrump has ordered an investigation of Joe Biden and the undisputed coverup of his mental decline, arguing that his actions could be overturned if top aides were making the decisions. Huge story. But the coverage has been muted, in part because the press doesnt take it seriously and Democrats dont want to fuel any story that involves more visibility for Biden. This nonstop gusher may deflect criticism that Trump is profiting from the presidency by selling meme coins and other items that once would have prompted an uproar.By the time you read this, the president may have made news on several other controversial subjects. Its a strategy that helps him and, in many ways, the media that are always scrambling to keep up.

Newt Gingrich believes Biden's use of autopen could become 'biggest scandal in American history'
    www.foxnews.com
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich predicted that the Biden cognitive cover-up could become the "biggest scandal in American history," telling "My View" host Lara Trump that having unknown forces exercising presidential powers behind the scenes would dwarf even the Watergate scandal that doomed Richard Nixon."The reason is, sometime, I'd think it's probably in 2023 Joe Biden was no longer there, and that means that other people were exercising the power of the presidency without any constitutional limitations, and I really think the key is not to look at Biden, but to look the various Obama people who had infiltrated that system" Gingrich said."The one I find the most interesting is that on one day after the election, he commuted 2,400 people. Now you know he didn't have a clue. Somebody was running the autopen. Somebody was giving them instructions and somebody was making deals somewhere. That's just a tiny example of how bad it was."JAKE TAPPER DECLARES BIDEN WHITE HOUSE LIED ABOUT 'CHEAP FAKES' AFTER CNN PEDDLED NARRATIVE IN 2024Gingrich said the key is to discover the identities of the various people who may have abused power. At the backdrop of the ordeal, he said, was the decay of the president and the use of his identity as a front for the decisions that may have happened at the hands of some members of his administration behind the scenes, which he proceeded to call "elder abuse."President Donald Trump has cast doubt on the viability of Biden's pardons, insisting that they are void since the former president may not have known what he was signing with the automated device. He called on Attorney General Pam Bondi to lead an investigation into whether certain individuals working for the former president conspired to deceive the public about his mental state while also exercising his presidential responsibilities by using an autopen.SHIELDING BIDEN: JOURNALISTS SHED LIGHT ON THE MEDIA'S COVER-UP OF A WEAKENED PRESIDENTBiden released a statement following the probe's announcement, blasting the investigation as a "distraction.""Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency. I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didnt is ridiculous and false," Biden said."This is nothing more than a distraction by Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans who are working to push disastrous legislation that would cut essential programs like Medicaid and raise costs on American families, all to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations."Members of the mainstream media have also scrutinized the former administration for failing to be transparent about Biden's decline, though many were reluctant to report on the topic throughout his administration.CNN's Jake Tapper, who once rebuked Lara Trump for raising concerns about Biden's cognitive abilities in 2020, has since admitted to insufficiently reporting on the ordeal and went on to co-author a damning book about the decline called "Original Sin."The CNN anchor went on to apologize to Trump.Fox News' Greg Wehner, Madeline Coggins and Diana Stancy contributed to this report.

  • Moscow Idaho King Road Murders Kohberger 16
How Bryan Kohberger's notoriously mum defense attorney is using the media to her advantage
    www.foxnews.com
Bryan Kohberger's lead defense attorney Anne Taylor may be avoiding news cameras, but she has shown she is able to use widespread attention to the case to her advantage in her courtroom maneuvering.Even before Magistrate Judge Megan Marshall issued the first gag order in the case, Taylor declined to comment when contacted by Fox News Digital. Since then, she has declined to respond to additional requests for comment."It is unusual for defense counsel to avoid trying to grab the spotlight and possibly influence public opinion via press conferences, but theres more than one way to skin a cat," said Royal Oakes, a Los Angeles-based litigator and media analyst.BRYAN KOHBERGER CASE LEAK COULD LEAD TO EXCLUDED EVIDENCE, IDAHO ATTORNEY WARNSIn Kohberger's case, convincing evidence has already been made public including the allegation that police found his DNA on a Ka-Bar knife sheath under 21-year-old Madison Mogen, one of the four victims, and surveillance video of a suspected vehicle coming and going at the crime scene."You've got the car circling the victim's house," Oakes told Fox News Digital. "You've got the DNA. You've got the cell phone records. The strategy instead is to go kind of a technical route and question the science of the DNA and also to argue autism by the criminal defendant. That's a key factor, and that's not the kind of thing you necessarily go public with."Taylor used unflattering depictions of her client to have news cameras thrown out of the courtroom and to secure a change of venue, which moved Kohberger's upcoming trial out of Latah County, where the students were killed, to Boise.IDAHO JUDGE DENIES BRYAN KOHBERGER DEFENSE MOTION TO SUPPRESS KEY EVIDENCEDefense filings have highlighted widespread news coverage, as well as social media discussions involving thousands of web sleuths and true crime followers.More recently, Taylor is arguing that two major media projects a "Dateline" episode and a forthcoming book from bestselling crime author James Patterson and crime reporter Vicky Ward should justify another postponement of her client's trial in the deaths of four University of Idaho students. In particular, she claims the May 9 "Dateline" episode contains damning material that could put Kohberger's right to a fair trial at risk.JUDGE SAYS GAG ORDER 'LIKELY' VIOLATED IN BRYAN KOHBERGER'S IDAHO MURDER CASE"The program includes details and materials, including video footage, cellphone records, and photographs of documents, that are not publicly available through official channels," she wrote in a motion to continue filed on May 20. "The show repeatedly emphasizes the non-public nature of this information, stating it was obtained from unnamed sources who are close to the investigation, and that the materials were obtained exclusively by 'Dateline.'"SIGN UP TO GET THE TRUE CRIME NEWSLETTERSome of it will be inadmissible at trial, she added.Furthermore, she asserted that "the leaked materials appear carefully curated to promote a narrative of guilt.""The defense strategy of delay and moving the trial is working beautifully," Oakes said. "She was able to change the venue. She gets some postponements, and now she wants further postponement."If she gets it, there are two key factors that would benefit the defense, he added.FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON X"No. 1, give her time to come up with something to overcome this amazingly strong physical evidence against him, and also maybe diminish the public anger," he said. "As the months and the years go by, people will forget how horrific the crime was, and maybe give her a better chance to get a good result at trial.""They are trying to keep it out of the court of public opinion," said David Gelman, a Philadelphia-area defense attorney and former prosecutor who is following the case. "How do you do that? Stay away from media."GET REAL-TIME UPDATES DIRECTLY ON THE TRUE CRIME HUBHowever, that is tough in a case where many updates receive international attention.Kohberger is accused of killing Mogen, two roommates and another friend in a 4 a.m. home-invasion stabbing spree. There is no publicly known motive, but a concerning detail is that he was studying for a Ph.D. in criminology at the time of the murders. The other victims were Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20.Jack Lu, a retired Massachusetts judge and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Massachusetts Lowell School of Criminology and Justice studies, said Taylor could consider trying to "humanize" her client but anything else could be dangerous for the defense."That case sends a chill down the spine of every professor in a school of criminology in the United States," he told Fox News Digital.

Among other things, Jarrett has identified four possible Viking harbors along the coast of Norway.Jarrett's research suggests that Vikings ventured farther from Scandinavia than previously thought and used decentralized port networks during their journeys, according to a press release published by Lund University."In his latest study, he has found evidence of a decentralized network of ports, located on islands and peninsulas, which probably played a central role in trade and travel in the Viking era," the statement added.Due to the type of boats Vikings used, Jarrett said that they likely used small, easily accessible harbors quite often.HAUNTING SLAVE SHIPS FOUND OFF COAST OF NATIONAL PARK 300 YEARS LATER: 'VERY CONVINCING'"With this type of boat, it has to be easy to get in and out of the harbor in all possible wind conditions. There must be several routes in and out."The archaeologist also noted that, while Viking historians know where trade journeys generally started and ended, knowledge about the more informal stops is scant.Jarrett said his research is focused on "what happened on the journeys between these major trading centers.""My hypothesis is that this decentralized network of ports, located on small islands and peninsulas, was central to making trade efficient during the Viking Age," he explained. He also ran into a few challenges during his three-year journey. In one instance, while 15 miles out to sea, the boat's mast spar broke and sent the mainsail toppling down."We had to lash two oars together to hold the sail, and hope that it would hold," the student recalled. "We made it back to the harbor safely, but then we had to spend several days repairing the boat before we could sail again.""On another trip, a minke whale suddenly surfaced and flapped its huge tail fin just meters from the boat."For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyleUnderwater currents and downslope winds also made it difficult for him to navigate near land. Jarrett needed to develop "mental maps" to figure out where to go, as the Vikings did.But he was also pleasantly surprised by other aspects of the journey. Jarrett found that the primitive boats are stable, even without a deep keel, the release indicated. The archaeologist also learned how important relationships were during these voyages, where Vikings had to rely on one another to sail and survive.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTER"You need a boat that can withstand all kinds of weather conditions," he said. "But if you don't have a crew that can cooperate and put up with each other for long periods, these journeys would probably be impossible.""The cold in [Norway's] Lofoten Islands was a challenge," Jarrett said. "Our hands really suffered. At that point, I realized just how crucial it is to have a good crew."The Viking Era lasted from roughly 800 A.D. to 1050 A.D.Remnants of the period are still being found across Europe.Last year, two curious metal detectorists found a 1,000-year-old Viking "wallet."More recently, Swedish archaeologists announced the discovery of an "unusual" Viking-era coffin in April.

Nick Chubb signs 1-year deal with Texans as former Browns star looks to revamp career: report
    www.foxnews.com
Nick Chubb has a new home in the NFL.The former Cleveland Browns star has signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans, worth up to $5 million, per NFL Network. The deal has a reported base salary of $2.5 million.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMChubb was expected to sign with Houston, but the deal was pending a Monday physical, which clearly went well. The Browns and Chubb were having discussions about a possible reunion before the 2025 NFL Draft, but NFL Network reported that both sides were unable to find common ground on a deal.In turn, Chubb was looking for his next opportunity elsewhere, and he got it with one of the best offenses in the NFL.He will be teaming up with Joe Mixon, the do-it-all running back who had 1,325 scrimmage yards and 1,016 yards rushing with 12 total touchdowns over 14 games in his first season with Houston. He earned himself a trip to the Pro Bowl as a result.NFL teams have liked the dual running back threat, especially with David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs wreaking havoc on the Detroit Lions. As a result, teams have invested in duos that could do the same for their own offense, and head coach DeMeco Ryans is certainly going to like his backfield if they can stay healthy.Chubb was once an elite NFL running back, breaking out in his second season with the Browns for 1,494 yards on the ground for his first Pro Bowl nod. He had become the workhorse running back Cleveland hoped he would be as a second-round pick in 2018 out of Georgia, earning himself four straight Pro Bowls from 2019-22.However, Chubbs career would be derailed a bit by a gruesome knee injury during "Monday Night Football" on the road in Week 2 of the 2023 season. Facing the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chubb suffered a brutal hit where his knee clearly went in the wrong direction. He was forced out for the remainder of the season.BROWN'S NICK CHUBB SAYS RETURN TO PRACTICE FELT LIKE A DREAM AFTER LONG RECOVERY FROM GRUESOME KNEE INJURYChubb had a long recovery, which led to him missing the first six games of the Browns 2204 campaign. He would get back out on an NFL field in Week 7, and he rushed for 332 yards on 102 attempts in eight games. It was not the type of production the Browns were used to from Chubb, which is why they were hesitant to bring him back. When the NFL Draft came along, they took Ohio States Quinshon Judkins and Tennessees Dylan Sampson to add to their depth chart that already had Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr.Thus, Chubbs time with the Browns came to an end.Perhaps Chubb can summon his old self in a Texans uniform this season with a team primed for another playoff run. MAGA country voters sound alarm over ridiculous national debt amid debate over Trump-backed bill
    www.foxnews.com
Voters in red areas of the country are ringing alarm bells over the countrys national debt just as President Donald Trump wants Congress to pass a bill experts say will add trillions to it over the next few years.Fox News Digital spoke to voters in Trump voting districts throughout the United States to gauge how they feel about the U.S. national debt. Most of them said that it was a significant cause for concern, and some even called out the president they support for adding to it."Weneed toaddress thenational debt, and Ithought thatTrump wasdoing thatwhen hebrought in[Elon] Musk. Don't getme wrong,I'm aTrump supporter. ButI thinkhis spending's gottena littlebit outof control," Art, in Lapeer, Michigan, told Fox.TRUMP PUSHES 'BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL' AS SOLUTION TO FOUR YEARS OF BIDEN FAILURES: 'LARGEST TAX CUT, EVER'The national debt currently sits at $36.2 trillion and counting, according to Fox Business' National Debt Tracker. A new spending bill dubbed the "big, beautiful bill" by Trump has reinvigorated concern over how much higher the debt, with its implications for economic growth and future spending, can get.The sweeping tax cuts and spending package, passed by the GOP-controlled House in May, addresses many of the presidents legislative priorities on cutting taxes, boosting border security, American energy, defense, and rolling back some of former President Joe Bidens environmental regulations and tax credits. However, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has projected the legislation would add $2.4 trillion to the national debt, prompting criticism from even Trump allies like Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla.Former Department of Government Efficiency head Elon Musk even publicly feuded with the president over the bill last week, in a spat that played out on social media.ELON MUSK WARNS EXCESSIVE SPENDING WILL PLUNGE US 'INTO DEBT SLAVERY'Ahead of the upcoming Senate vote on passing the bill, Fox News Digital asked voters in Republican voting precincts about the national debt, and many responded they had serious reservations.A woman in Staten Island, New York, who asked to remain anonymous, told Fox, "Its too big. And were leaving it for the future, for our children, and were leaving all that debt on them to pay for. I dont think thats right.""We cant keep spending ourselves into the ground and leaving that burden for our children and grandchildren," Franceen in Boca Raton, Florida, declared.Chris from Cypress, Texas said, "I mean, I'm inheriting it, my kids are inheriting it, and we've got to cut it off, or we're going to default."Front Royal, Virginia, resident Frank told Fox that the debt has been a "longstanding problem.""Its probably going to be there even after Im gone, but yeah, of course, any country has a problem with their debt. Of course, its a problem," he said.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREJoe in Lapeer said, "Yes, I think it is an issue. So, at this time, I think its going to level out over time. It can't keep going the way it was going, put it that way. You know, that's my opinion."A man from Staten Island, who asked to remain anonymous, acknowledged the problem but expressed hope that Trump will try to right the ship."I think it's always a problem," he said. "I think the other party was just made everything upside down and now Trump's trying to fix it. So, it's going to take a few years, but I think we're on the right track.""It is a huge problem," Chad in Cypress, Texas, declared. "You know, weve got to the point right now I think we're $34, $36 trillion in debt. And it's like running up a credit card, you know, sooner or later the bill has to be paid and there's no reason for America to be in debt."However, another gentleman from Staten Island, who also asked to remain anonymous, told Fox he wasnt too concerned."I have no idea what the debt is. I could care less what the national debt is, as long as Trump makes this country a little better. National debt has been in existence for hundreds of years, right?" he said.

Prince Harry remains stuck in the past while Meghan Markle builds Hollywood empire: experts
    www.foxnews.com
Prince Harry spends his time looking back on the past, while Meghan Markle is more focused on their future in California. That's according to an insider who recently claimed to People magazine that the Duchess of Sussex "wishes her husband could feel less burdened by the past and more present in the life theyve built together." Still, the mother of two "stands firmly" by the Duke of Sussexs side as he still faces "a painful rift" with his family.Fox News Digital reached out to Archewell, which handles the offices of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, for comment.PRINCE HARRY'S OBSESSION WITH BEING A SPARE IS DESTROYING HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH ROYAL FAMILY: EXPERTS"Harrys continued dwelling on the past is rooted in his unresolved personal grievances and an out-of-touch desire for public accountability," British royals expert Hilary Fordwich claimed to Fox News Digital."His every public move further damages any chance of reconciliation," she claimed. "The senior royals now view that as totally out of the question. The royal familys lack of trust in Meghan Markle is rooted in the perception that she catalyzed the current rift, regardless of Harry being more vocal."The source told People that Harry has one foot in the past while Meghan "is very business about it.""Theyre aware of everything going on in England, but theyre being left out of the details theres clearly no trust," the source, close to the couple, told the outlet.Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told Fox News Digital its easy to see why theres no reconciliation in sight despite Harrys public pleas."The royals quite rightly dont trust either of them," he explained. "There are innumerable examples as to why they should not. As a couple, I think they have a close partnership. Harry is a product of his background and will inevitably have deep links to the past. They should have a dynamic future as they are members of the most high-profile royal family in the world. However, it is the mistakes they keep making that make this highly unlikely."CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERFordwich pointed out that as Meghan continues to build her business empire in California, the royals are still wary of what the couple may say next in an attempt to win the public over."Meghan Markle focusing on her business and future has proven to be provocative and certainly a barrier to rebuilding any trust with the senior royals," said Fordwich.Harry and Meghan stepped back as senior royals in 2020, citing the unbearable intrusions of the British press and a lack of support from the palace. That same year, they moved to California.Since the couples royal exit, they have aired their grievances and made blistering allegations against the royal family.Harrys explosive 2023 memoir, "Spare," was stuffed with private details and embarrassing revelations.Harrys rift with his family burst into the open once more with a raw interview he gave to the BBC in May after losing a court case over his security. In a lengthy and at times emotional conversation, Harry expressed his desire for reconciliation. He admitted that his father, who is battling an undisclosed form of cancer, wont speak to him.Harrys pals previously told People magazine that King Charles, 76, wont respond to Harrys phone calls and letters. Royal experts also claimed to Fox News Digital that Harrys older brother, William, whois heir to the British throne, refuses to speak with him.LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSPeople magazine noted that the rift between father and son is "five years deep and remains one of the most painful fractures in Charles reign.""King Charles has cancer and will likely never get to know Harrys children," Kinsey Schofield, host of the To Di For Daily podcast, told Fox News Digital. "People will look beyond [Meghan's] fruit spread and see this for what it is selfishness.""Harry had plenty of problems before Meghan entered the picture, but Meghan magnified them, and the world has noticed that Meghan doesnt speak to her family either," Schofield claimed.MEGHAN MARKLE WILL NEVER WIN OVER UK PUBLIC AGAIN, AUTHOR CLAIMS"I dont believe Meghan is staying out of it because every time there is a royal milestone, like Trooping the Colour on Saturday, the Sussexes have to try to do something to outshine them," she said. "[For example], Meghans upcoming appearance at an L.A. gala is on the same day as Trooping the Colour, the kings birthday parade. Meghan might compete with the royals, but she is certainly not on their radar."Since their royal exit, the couple have attempted to carve out meaningful roles for themselves across the pond. According to Forbes, Harry was rumored to have received a $20 million advance for "Spare."Their most lucrative deal, the outlet noted, was the five-year, $100 million contract they signed with Netflix in 2020. Meghans 2021 childrens picture book, "The Bench," reportedly resulted in an advance of up to $618,000.Before the couple parted ways with Spotify in 2023, they reportedly signed a podcasting deal that was worth between $15 to $18 million. Some reports indicated that it could have been as much as $25 million, the outlet shared. Most recently, Meghan launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, in February, followed by her Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan," in March. She also released new episodes of her podcast on Lemonada, "Confessions of a Female Founder."While Harry may appear to be doing all the talking these days, Meghan is determined to make her mark as a Hollywood influencer, experts claimed."Meghan was a working royal for maybe 17 months and insists on using a royal title in a country that doesnt have royalty," Schofield claimed. "The whole first portion of the Oprah interview [from 2021] is just Meghan. Meghan is the instigator."Doug Eldridge, a branding expert and founder of Achilles PR, told Fox News Digital that Meghan has made the family business her business."At this point, when it comes to the drama within the royal family, you could argue that Meghan has made it her business," he explained."They tried to monetize familial infighting, across a variety of platforms from long-form Oprah sit-downs, to Harry's tell-all book, to the numerous podcasts and media appearances they've done; each time, trying to take the 'victim high-ground' in the ongoing optics war for public sympathy and support.""That was a short-sighted position," he said. "She ultimately turned many of those would-be consumers into vocal critics, who are often brutal in their social media-based rejection and rebuke. She gained eyeballs but at the expense of dollars."Sources told People magazine that many believe Charles should make the first move in reconnecting with Harry. However, there is hesitation. Prince William is said to have no desire to extend an olive branch while Queen Camilla keeps her distance.PRINCE HARRY REGRETS ROYAL EXIT BUT MEGHAN MARKLE COULDNT WAIT TO GET AWAY: EXPERT"The underlying issue is trust," royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith told the outlet. "The king and William dont trust Harry and Meghan with any kind of confidential conversation."Eldridge said that all the Sussexes can do is stay in their lane and focus on their business. But it will take time until they can be trusted by the royal family despite the couple being ready for peace talks, he warned."This is like another Hollywood reboot of a story we've already seen," he said. "Meghan has not only read the script but repeatedly chosen to reprise her role in this story time and time again. It's tough to envision a 'reimagining' of this screenplay, other than her finally declining 'the role' altogether. In the end, that might be her best move.""If Meghan is serious about building and expanding her lifestyle empire, she would be wise to heed an old saying, You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks," said Eldridge. "Stay on the path and keep it moving."
