Brett Favre suggests Netflix documentary targets him for Trump support
Brett Favre appears to believe Netflix is out to get him due to his support of President Donald Trump. The streaming service released its documentary on the Hall of Famer titled "Untold: The Fall of Favre."The documentary highlights the scandals of Favre allegedly sending inappropriate messages to a woman while playing for the New York Jets, and his alleged involvement in the Mississippi State welfare scandal.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMUpon the docs release, Favre reposted two X posts that ripped Netflix."Netflix is going after @BrettFavre for being an outspoken Trump supporter. We stand with Brett Favre," the Hodge twins wrote. And wrote @SteveLovesAmmo, "Havent you ever noticed that these "scandals" seem to pop up (or again) every single time a famous individual vocally supports President Trump? Brett has been under constant attack from the mainstream media and also now today, Netflix Tonight, a new documentary premiers tonight on Netflix attempting to tarnish his name."We all know that if he wasnt a Conservative, this would not be happening right now. Was this a hit documentary because Donald Trump won the 2024 election? That has yet to be determined. With that being said, I support .@BrettFavre! One of the greats!"While speaking at a Trump rally in October just before the election, Favre said it would be "insane" to vote for Kamala Harris.FORMER NFL STAR RYAN CLARK APOLOGIZES FOR DRAGGING ROBERT GRIFFIN III'S WIFE INTO ANGEL REESE DEBATE"Weve already had President Trump once weve already seen Kamala in action. We can compare, and we know which is better," Favre said at the rally. "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. . . . It would be insane to give Kamala four more years in office. So its time to bench Kamala and put in the star quarterback.""USA is a great country. But we all know this: Kamala broke it. Trump will fix it," Favre added. "I have lived the American dream, but I want to make sure that future generations get to, as well. So remember this: Lets make American great again."Favre has long supported Trump, saying last year that the country was in a "better place" when he was president. He endorsed Trump in 2020 because of his stance on freedom of speech, gun rights and support for the military and police after a summer of racial unrest after the death of George Floyd.Fox News' Ryan Gaydos contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Why God and the Bible were right about your work schedule all along
Most units of time are based on nature. A day is one rotation of the Earth. A month is the moons orbit. A year is the Earths path around the sun.But a week? Theres no natural explanation for it. (See the video at the top of this article.)Thats why ancient cultures defined the week in vastly different ways: four days in West Africa, 10 in Egypt, 15 in China.THE SECRETS OF A MEANINGFUL AND LIFELONG GRANDPARENT-GRANDCHILD BONDIn the 1930s, the Soviets tried to eliminate the seven-day week entirely first replacing it with a four-day week, then a five, "to facilitate the struggle to eliminate religion."They were at least right about the source. The seven-day week comes straight from the Bible. In Exodus, God commands: "Six days you shall work, and on the seventh you shall rest."That short verse carries deep insight. First, it applies to everyone. Second, it treats work not as a necessity, but as a value. The Torah doesnt say "work must be done," but that you shall work. The work itself matters regardless of the outcome. This work doesnt need to be paid. Volunteering and child-rearing certainly count as long as the activity is demanding, consistent and productive. The second insight can be seen in the life of Joseph, the only person in the Bible called a "success" twice. This happened once as a slave, and once as a prisoner and all the time with God by his side, whom he constantly cited (even as he, unlike his father Jacob and grandfather Abraham, never spoke with God).Still, work must stop. The seventh day, Shabbat, is not just a break. Its a weekly reset, a day to gather, reflect and reconnect. The Jewish tradition calls it "a taste of Heaven on Earth."Modern culture, though, swings between extremes. For most of the 20th century, work was considered an unfortunate financial necessity to be escaped. We see this in popular music, such as "Heigh Ho," "9 to 5" and "Taking Care of Business" all songs about how work is meaningless drudgery.7 STEPS TO BETTER MENTORING FOR LIFE AND CAREER: MANY POSITIVE BENEFITSPopular commercials in the 1980s and '90s portrayed the ideal life as one of leisure: playing polo, loading fancy dogs into a car and diving off a yacht into the ocean. Then, around the year 2000, everything flipped. Suddenly, busyness became the new badge of honor.A new locution entered the lexicon that people are "crazy busy."This strange expression became so commonplace that it became the quintessential humblebrag. It even took on a shortened version for those who were too busy to say the whole four syllables that ones schedule is "crazy."Neither extreme works. The leisure advocates need to understand what modern studies show time and again: Happiness at work is key to happiness in life. This is partially because we spend much of our time at work, and it is hard to enjoy life if we dislike how we spend most of our work hours.Contemporary research has shown that we can enjoy and find meaning in any job as long as we frame it correctly. This is called "job crafting."A Wharton study found that hospital custodians who "job craft" and viewed their work as part of "healing patients" were more fulfilled and more successful than those who saw it as menial labor. The biblical Joseph would have been proud. But thats not the whole story.Numerous studies have found that there is a productivity ceiling. The first research on this topic was done by the British Ministry of Munitions, which established a committee in 1915 to assess the work that resulted in equipping the soldiers in the Great War. They concluded that the British war effort required giving workers a Sabbath so that the workers would produce more. The report, in part, said that "the evidence is conclusive that Sunday labor, by depriving the worker of his weekly rest, offers him no sufficient opportunity for recovering from fatigue Seven days labor only produces six days output and reductions in Sunday work have not involved any appreciable loss of output."For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyleA century later, John Pencavel, a professor at Stanford, analyzed the data using modern tools. He determined that production correlated with work hours for the first 49 hours a week. The rate of production slowed for the hours 50 to 55.However, there was no increase in output from hours 56 to 70.The Economist, in reviewing Pencavels work, concluded, "That extra 14 hours was a waste of time."And so, we now have the number of what we have termed the "productivity ceiling": It's 55 hours a week. And heres the amazing and maybe divine math.A Sabbath observer can work 10 hours a day for five days a week.He can really only work half a day on the sixth, as he needs to prepare for Shabbat leaving him with a 55-hour work week.So God was right. The good life isnt all leisure or all work. Its six days of meaningful work, followed by a seventh day of sacred rest.Mark Gerson's new book is "God Was Right: How Modern Social Science Proves the Torah Is True," published by BenBella Books and distributed by Simon & Schuster (June 2025). Trump talks with Putin, spars with South African leader, threatens EU tariff hike in 18th week in office
President Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war in Ukraine, hosted the president of South Africa at the White House and threatened more stringent tariffs against the European Union this week.During South African President Cyril Ramaphosas Oval Office visit on Wednesday, Trump got into a testy exchange with the South African leader about the treatment of White farmers there. Specifically, Trump aired a video that showed white crosses that Trump said were approximately 1,000 burial sites of White Afrikaner South African farmers.Trump has repeatedly asserted these farmers are being killed and pushed off of their land.TRUMP TO MEET LEADER OF OUT OF CONTROL' SOUTH AFRICA AT WHITE HOUSETrump told Ramaphosa at the White House that the burial sites by the side of the road are visited by those who want to "pay respects to their family member who was killed.""Now this is very bad. These are burial sites right here. Burial sites over a thousand of White farmers. And those cars are lined up to pay love on a Sunday morning. Each one of those white things you see is a cross. And there is approximately a thousand of them," Trump said. "They're all White farmers. The family of White farmers. And those cars aren't driving, they are stopped there to pay respects to their family member who was killed. And it's a terrible sight. I've never seen anything like it. On both sides of the road, you have crosses. Those people are all killed.""Have they told you where that is, Mr. President?" Ramaphosa said. "I'd like to know where that is. Because this I've never seen.""I mean, its in South Africa, thats where," Trump said."We need to find out," Ramaphosa said. The White House defended showing the clip and said that the video was "substantiated," following reports that emerged after the encounter that said the crosses were from a memorial demonstration following the murder of a White farming couple, not actual burial sites.Heres what also happened this week:Trump and Putin spoke over the phone on Monday to advance peace negotiations ending the war between Moscow and Kyiv. The call occurred just days after Russia and Ukraine met in Turkey to conduct their first peace talks since 2022.After the call, Trump said both countries would move toward a ceasefire and push discussions to end the war. But, Trump indicated that the U.S. would let Moscow and Kyiv take the lead on negotiations after his call with Putin."The conditions for that will be negotiated between the two parties, as it can only be, because they know the details of a negotiation that nobody else would be aware of," Trump said in a Monday post on Truth Social.TRUMP SAYS HE COULD WALK AWAY FROM RUSSIA-UKRAINE TALKS, CITES TREMENDOUS HATRED ON BOTH SIDESAdditionally, Trump has continued to distance the U.S. from the conflict this week, describing the conflict as a "European situation.""Big egos involved, but I think something's going to happen," Trump told reporters on Monday. "And if it doesn't, I'll just back away and they'll have to keep going. This was a European situation. It should have remained a European situation."Trump expressed similar sentiments on Wednesday when Ramaphosa visited and stated: "It's not our people, it's not our soldiers it's Ukraine and it's Russia."The White House condemned the fatal attack against two Israeli Embassy employees in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, labeling that incident an act of antisemitism.A gunman opened fire and killed Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim as they were leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum. The two were planning to get engaged next week in Jerusalem, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said at a press briefing.Authorities arrested a pro-Palestinian man identified as 31-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago in connection with the attack, according to officials. In response, Trump and other leaders of his administration said attacks like these must stop and said that those responsible will face justice.WHITE HOUSE DECRIES EVILS OF ANTISEMITISM, VOWS JUSTICE AFTER FATAL SHOOTING OF ISRAELI EMBASSY STAFFERS"These horrible D.C. killings, based obviously on antisemitism, must end, NOW!" Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. "Hatred and Radicalism have no place in the USA. Condolences to the families of the victims. So sad that such things as this can happen! God Bless You ALL!"Leavitt later told reporters shed spoken with Attorney General Pam Bondi and that those who conducted the attack would face prosecution."The evil of antisemitism must be eradicated from our society," Leavitt told reporters on Thursday. "I spoke to the attorney general this morning. The Department of Justice will be prosecuting the perpetrator responsible for this to the fullest extent of the law. Hatred has no place in the United States of America under President Donald Trump."Trump threatened to slap a 50% tariff on imports from the European Union on Friday amid ongoing trade negotiations and after locking down a trade deal with the U.K.The deal with the U.K. is the first historic trade negotiation signed following Liberation Day, when Trump announced widespread tariffs for multiple countries on April 2 at a range of rates. The administration later adjusted its initial proposal and announced on April 9 it would immediately impose a 145% tariff on Chinese goods, while reducing reciprocal tariffs on other countries and the EU to a baseline of 10% for 90 days.TRUMP SIGNALS CHINA VERY MUCH INTERESTED IN SECURING TRADE DEAL AHEAD OF SWITZERLAND NEGOTIATIONS"Their powerful Trade Barriers, Vat Taxes, ridiculous Corporate Penalties, Non-Monetary Trade Barriers, Monetary Manipulations, unfair and unjustified lawsuits against Americans Companies, and more, have led to a Trade Deficit with the U.S. of more than $250,000,000 a year, a number which is totally unacceptable," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Friday about the EU."Therefore, I am recommending a straight 50% Tariff on the European Union, starting on June 1, 2025," he said.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPTreasury Secretary Scott Bessent later said in an interview with Fox News he hoped the warning would "light a fire under the EU" and signaled Trumps threats stemmed from frustration negotiating with European countries on trade deals."EU proposals have not been of the same quality that weve seen from our other important trading partners," Bessent said.Fox News Digital's Greg Norman contributed to this report.

Trump vows 'we will not have men in women's sports' during West Point commencement speech
President Donald Trump reiterated that girls and women "will not" compete against transgender athletes during his commencement speech at West Point Saturday.Trump signed an executive order Feb. 5 that prohibits biological boys and men from competing in girls and women's sports. While speaking to 1,002 graduates, Trump revisited the topic.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"We will not have men in women's sports, if that's OK," he said. "I mean, I wouldn't want to have to tackle, as an example, (quarterback) Bryson (Daily) as a man. But I don't think a lot of women want to tackle him. I don't think so. How crazy is it? Men playing in women's sports. How crazy is it? So ridiculous. So demeaning. So demeaning to women. And it's over. That's over. We ended it."Several states have defied Trump's order, resulting in federal Title IX investigations. The Department of Agriculture also temporarily ended federal funding to the state of Maine, but the funding was restored by a federal judge.Maine Gov. Janet Mills and Trump got into a highly-publicized spat shortly after the order was signed.Earlier this month, a school district in Washington, a blue state, voted to keep trans athletes out of girls sports. The ruling defies a policy by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), enacted in 2007, that allows transgender students to participate based on their gender identity. In May, a trans athlete competed in a girls cross-country championship in the state and won.BRETT FAVRE SUGGESTS NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY TARGETS HIM FOR TRUMP SUPPORTTrump delivered a similar notion while speaking to graduates at the University of Alabama earlier this month.A New York Times/Ipsos survey found the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, don't think transgender athletes should be permitted to compete in women's sports.Of the 2,128 people who participated, 79% said biological males who identify as women should not be allowed to participate in women's sports. Bodycam footage shows chaotic moments leading up to fatal officer-involved shooting
Officials released bodycam footage showing the chaotic moments leading up to a deadly officer-involved shooting in Fairfax, Virginia, in April. In a press release accompanying the footage, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) called the incident an "attempted murder."On April 23, an officer pulled over 36-year-old Jamal Wali for speeding. Wali also had an expired safety inspection sticker. When he was pulled over, Wali slammed on the brakes, something the officer who initially approached Walis vehicle noted.Wali then informed the officer he was armed and asked why he was being pulled over. From there, the situation took a chaotic turn as a clearly distressed Wali began shouting, cursing, refusing to give his name and saying he had no drivers license or registration for the vehicle.CALIFORNIA OFFICER'S GUN STOLEN BY HALF-NAKED SUSPECT WHO WAS LATER SHOT DEAD BY ANOTHER OFFICER: BODYCAMAs the officer tried to deescalate the situation, Wali launched into profanity-laced complaints about how he had been treated in the country and said he came to the U.S. after serving as a translator for American forces in Afghanistan."I should have served with f---ing Taliban," Wali yelled at the officer.Wali eventually took out a GoPro-like camera and began recording the traffic stop. Police later obtained this footage and included it in the bodycam video released to the public Friday. Two other FCPD officers arrived to assist the officer who initiated the traffic stop, with one standing on the drivers side and the other on the passengers side. Wali eventually reached for his weapon and fired at the two officers on the drivers side. According to FCPD Chief Kevin Davis, one bullet went through arms of both officers before hitting a parked car across the street, shattering its rear window.Wali was shot and taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.BODYCAM FOOTAGE SHOWS MOMENT FLORIDA OFFICERS' ATTEMPT TO RESTRAIN SUSPECT GOES HORRIBLY WRONG"Its always regrettable when a life is lost. It is regrettable that Mr. Wali is no longer with us," Davis said at a news conference announcing the release of the footage. He confirmed that Wali was married with four children as he had claimed during his tense interaction with the officer. The chief said "the impact on those children is unimaginable, and theyll carry that with them the rest of their lives, so we take that very seriously."Davis credited the officer on the passengers side with saving the lives of the other responding officers."We also realize in this particular scenario that were very fortunate that we didnt have two police funerals because it was just by or thanks to, rather some strategic thinking, actions by our police officer who you see on the passengers side of the car. His actions, his deployment of that deadly force, saved the lives of the two officers that were on the drivers side of the car. Theres no doubt about that," Davis told reporters.FCPD said in a press release that Officer Ian Lachapelle, who fired his gun, was placed on restricted duty status as the investigation of the incident continues.
