WWW.FOXNEWS.COMHarris tells 'The View' she 'didnt have enough time to win 2024 presidential raceFormer Vice President Kamala Harris told ABCs "The View" on Tuesday that she lost the 2024 presidential election because she didnt have enough time to campaign. In an interview on the ABC talk show, Harris promoted her new book, "107 Days," which recounts her truncated presidential campaign. She told the co-hosts what she believed to be the biggest reason for her loss to President Donald Trump."There are many factors I think that played into the outcome of that election, but I think probably one of the biggest in my mind is, we just didnt have enough time," she said.KAMALA HARRIS AIDE URGED 'THE VIEW' HOSTS TO ASK AGAIN AFTER VP FLUBBED QUESTION ON DIFFERENCES WITH BIDENCo-host Ana Navarro prompted Harris answer, saying she believed the former vice president had the election locked up until Trump secured the victory."I felt so good going into Election Day, and then I read in the book that you did too. I went into Election Day thinking you were going to win.""So did you," the co-host added. Harris replied, "Yeah. I did."KAMALA HARRIS BREAKS SILENCE ON BIDEN DROPOUT, ADMITS SHE HAS REGRETS ABOUT HER HANDLING OF SITUATION"So I mean, it was a very tight race but, ultimately, if you have to pin it down to one thing, what was the primary reason, do you think, that you lost?" Navarro continued.Harris chalked it up to the shortness of her campaign because she had to step in for former President Joe Biden less than four months before Election Day. Biden abandoned his re-election campaign in July 2024 following his dismal debate performance against Trump in June.Harris told the co-hosts it was an unprecedented situation in which to run a presidential campaign."And, you know, I mean, one of the reasons I wrote the book is this is unprecedented. Think about this, that there is a race for President of the United States. The current sitting president is running for re-election. Three-and-a-half months from the election, he decides not to run."The sitting vice president then takes the mantle, running against a former President of the United States who had been running for ten years with 107 days until the election."CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREShe added the 2024 election was "the closest presidential race in the 21st century, in terms of the outcome."However, the 2000 election between George W. Bush and Al Gore was closer than Trump and Harris race, both in the Electoral College and popular vote.Trump won the Electoral College by 86 votes in 2024 and held a 1.6% margin over Harris in the popular vote. By comparison, Bush beat Gore by five electoral votes while winning the popular vote by just 0.5%.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 35 Views 0 Anteprima

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMKeith Olbermann apologizes for threatening post against Scott Jennings after FBI referralFormer ESPN and MSNBC contributor Keith Olbermann posted an apology Tuesday after deleting a controversial social media post Monday directed at CNN conservative commentator Scott Jennings.Olbermann's original posts were screenshotted by Townhall columnist Dustin Grage, showing Olbermann writing, "Youre next motherf---er," and "But keep mugging for the camera," at Jennings nearly two weeks after Charlie Kirk was assassinated at an event on the campus of Utah Valley University.Jennings later shared screenshots of Olbermann's posts, tagging FBI Director Kash Patel.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMOlbermann's apology post came Tuesday, suggesting his message was "misinterpreted.""I apologize without reservation to [Scott Jennings]. Yesterday I wrote and immediately deleted 2 responses to him about Kimmel because they could be misinterpreted as a threat to anything besides his career. I immediately replaced them with ones specifying what I actually meant," Olbermann wrote."I oppose and condemn political violence, and the threat of it. All times are the wrong time to leave even an inadvertent impression of it but this time is especially wrong. I should've acknowledged the deletion and apologized yesterday. I'm sorry I delayed."Olbermann has faced tremendous backlash in recent days for his controversial posts about Kirk and Jimmy Kimmel. He slighted the late conservative influencer last week after it was announced that several TV affiliates, including those owned by Sinclair, would preempt Kimmels show.CHIEFS CEO'S WIFE SLAMS CRITICS CELEBRATING CHARLIE KIRK'S ASSASSINATION"Burn in hell, Sinclair," Olbermann wrote on X. "Alongside Charlie Kirk."He maintained that nothing that Kimmel said in his comments about Kirk was untrue.Last week, Kimmel accused conservatives of reaching "new lows" in trying to pin a left-wing ideology on 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson, even though prosecutors reaffirmed those ties in his indictment."We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said.Kimmels comments came one day after both FBI officials and Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said that Robinsonheld a "leftist ideology"and was increasingly radicalized in recent years. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMMystery of babies abandoned at park in 1989 solved after mother ID'd as woman found murdered in desertAfter more than three decades, investigators identified a woman found stabbed to death in the Arizona desert in 1989, and located her two infant daughters who vanished at the time of her death.Marina Ramos, of Bakersfield, California, was found naked with multiple stab wounds on Dec. 12, 1989 in Mohave County, Arizona, about 50 miles south of Las Vegas. While detectives determined she was killed at the scene, they were unable to identify her because Ramos' DNA did not yield any matches. In February 2022, the Mohave County Sheriffs Office Special Investigations Unit resubmitted fingerprints from the case file to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, and the FBI matched the prints to "Maria Ortiz," an alias used by Ramos, who had been arrested for shoplifting in Bakersfield in 1989.PARENTS OF 7-MONTH-OLD BOY MISSING FOR NEARLY 2 WEEKS ARE CHARGED WITH MURDERFamily members later confirmed Ramos disappeared that same year and was last seen with her daughters Elizabeth, then 14 months old, and Jasmin, then 2 months old.For more than two years, the sheriff's office put out press releases, posted on social media, reviewed broadcast television reports, and tested Ramos' family members' DNA to find out what happened to the two girls.NOTORIOUS SCORECARD KILLER LINKED TO DECADES-OLD MURDER NEARLY 45 YEARS LATERIn August, investigators found the two daughters through a DNA match and learned they were abandoned in a park restroom in Oxnard, California, in December 1989 just two days after their mothers body was found in Arizona.According to police reports, a passerby heard children crying in the womens restroom and found the girls lying on the wet floor without any adults nearby. The girls were placed in foster care and "stayed there for a significant amount of time" before being adopted by a family in Ventura County, where they were raised together, according to authorities.CALIFORNIA PARENTS ARRESTED, CHARGED WITH MURDER OF MISSING 7-MONTH-OLD SON AFTER MOTHER'S STORY FALLS APART"While we are excited to announce that one part of this 36-year-old mystery has been solved, the search for the suspects involved in the homicide of Marina Ramos continues," sheriff's office officials wrote in a statement.A witness in the area told officers she saw a Hispanic woman and two Hispanic men with the two girls at the park. The woman was carrying the younger child in a yellow blanket, and one of the men was carrying the older child, according to the witness. They were seen driving a black mini pickup.Anyone with information about the investigation is asked to contact the sheriff's office.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 14 Views 0 Anteprima

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMWeight loss could be just a pill away, study of new medication suggestsAn oral weight loss pill has performed well in clinical trials, positioning it as a potential alternative to injectable GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy. The Eli Lilly drug, called orforglipron, demonstrated "meaningful weight loss" and cardiometabolic improvements, according to a press release. The phase 3 ATTAIN-1 trial, which was published in the New England Journal of Medicine, evaluated the safety and efficacy of the drug in adults who have a weight-related medical problem and do not have diabetes.WEIGHT LOSS DRUGS COULD ADD YEARS TO AMERICANS' LIVES, RESEARCHERS PROJECTThe participants underwent 72 weeks of treatment with three different doses (6 mg, 12 mg and 36 mg). After the trial period, results showed that orforglipron met the "primary endpoint of superior body weight reduction" compared to a placebo. Those who took the highest dose lost an average of 27.3 pounds. Nearly 60% of these participants lost 10% of their body weight, while 39.6% lost at least 15%.Of the 1,127 participants who had pre-diabetes at the start of the study, up to 91% achieved nearly normal blood sugar levels compared to the 42% taking a placebo, the researchers found.Orforglipron showed "clinically meaningful improvements" in cardiovascular risk factors associated with obesity, like non-HDL cholesterol, systolic blood pressure and triglycerides.POPULAR WEIGHT-LOSS MEDICATION COULD RELIEVE PAINFUL ARTHRITIS SYMPTOMS, DOCTORS REPORTThe highest dose also reduced a marker for inflammation, called high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, by 47.7%.The study found the drugs safety profile to be consistent with the existing GLP-1 medications. The most common side effects were gastrointestinal, including nausea, constipation, diarrhea and vomiting, at mild to moderate severity.Sean Wharton, M.D., director at Wharton Medical Clinic and the lead study author in Canada, wrote in a statement that obesity is a "complex, global health challenge" requiring treatment options that are "effective and easy to integrate into everyday life."'NEXT OZEMPIC' AIMS TO DELIVER 30% WEIGHT LOSS WITH FEWER SIDE EFFECTS"In this phase 3 study, orforglipron demonstrated strong efficacy results and safety consistent with the GLP-1 class, reinforcing its potential as a first-line treatment in primary care," he said in the press release."Orforglipron could help reduce known markers of cardiovascular risk associated with obesity and support meaningful improvements in public health."Lilly announced it is moving forward with plans to get approval for orforglipron as an obesity drug. The company expects it could get the green light as early as 2026. In the same year, it also plans to apply for approval to use the drug for type 2 diabetes treatment.Reuters reported that this pill could be "fast-tracked" under a one- to two-month review process launched by the Food and Drug Administration, according to Wall Street analysts."Analysts speculate that the drug, orforglipron, is a viable candidate given the growing cost burden of expensive injectable weight-loss drugs and the fact that Lilly is expanding its U.S. manufacturing issues the Trump administration has prioritized," Reuters wrote.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTERIn an interview with Fox News Digital, Sue Decotiis, M.D., medical weight loss doctor in New York City, called this drug a "positive addition to the armamentarium" thats cheaper to produce and less expensive for the consumer.Decotiis noted, however, that the weight loss results are "not as impressive" as the results from injectables like Ozempic and Mounjaro."However, compliance with orforglipron may be better, as it is an oral medication and not an injectable," she said. One concern with this new drug, according to Decotiis, is that it is not a peptide, which has a high safety factor and is "easy for the body to metabolize and adjust to."For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/health"There could be unknown long-term consequences that we have yet to know about," she added. "I believe there will be more oral weight loss drugs in the pipeline and hope they will be in the peptide category."Fox News Digital reached out to Eli Lilly for comment.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 30 Views 0 Anteprima

Scott Wiener on Tuesday for calling to break up Sinclair Broadcast Group because it's keeping late-night host Jimmy Kimmel off its ABC stations.Carr pointed to Wiener as an example of Democratic lawmakers accusing opponents of stifling free speech while engaging in it themselves."And there it is. On Kimmel, the Democrats are engaged in nothing more than Projection and Distortion," the Trump appointee posted on X in response to Wieners post.FCC CHAIR BRENDAN CARR DEFENDS ABC AFFILIATES PULLING JIMMY KIMMEL SHOW AFTER MONOLOGUE ABOUT CHARLIE KIRKThe progressive state lawmakers post attacked Sinclair in response to news that the media conglomerate would continue to refuse to broadcast "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" throughout the country for his comments falsely suggesting that Charlie Kirks alleged assassin is a MAGA supporter.Sinclair which operates dozens of ABC affiliates made the announcement after Disney reinstated Kimmels show this Tuesday after suspending it for several days following his Kirk comments."Beginning Tuesday night, Sinclair will be preempting Jimmy Kimmel Live! across our ABC affiliate stations and replacing it with news programming. Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the shows potential return," the company posted on X on Monday.Nexstar Media Group, which owns 32 ABC affiliate stations, also announced on Tuesday that it will continue preempting "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"Kimmels suspension sparked outrage among liberals, who called it government censorship. Many pointed to the FCC chairs podcast interview where he suggested the commission could take action if Disney didn't. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, was among the voices on the right who were critical of the FCC, comparing it to a mob shakedown.HOWARD STERN BLASTS ABC OVER KIMMEL SUSPENSION, SAYS HE CANCELED DISNEY+ SUBSCRIPTIONWhen Sinclair refused to return Kimmel to its airwaves, Wiener appeared to threaten the company with government action."Cant wait to break Sinclair up. He added Democrats distort the issue by blaming Trump rather than Disney for Kimmels suspension."Projection because Democrats are the ones that spent years illegally weaponizing government to silence dissent. And it is Democrats that will do it all again as they are openly telling you today," he wrote."Distortion because Democrats want to blame anything other than Disney and their local TV stations for Kimmels suspension.
