WWW.FOXNEWS.COMNew Jersey Democratic candidate for governor faces net worth questions as viral clip resurfacesThe bulk of social media criticism Republicans have lobbed at Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-N.J., since she faced off against Jack Ciattarelli on Sunday stems from comments she made months ago on a May 21 episode of "The Breakfast Club."When radio host Charlamagne tha God asked Sherrill if she made $7 million in stock trades, the Democratic nominee said, "I haven't. I don't believe I did, but I would have to go and see what that was alluding to"According to a report by The Washington Free Beacon, Sherrill could have earned $7 million since she took office in 2019. The report revealed that Sherrill's reported assets jumped from the $733,209 to $4,321,000 range in 2019 to between $4,840,076 and $13,975,000 in 2024.Fox News Digital has not independently verified The Washington Free Beacon report.During the first gubernatorial debate ahead of New Jersey's November election, Ciattarelli took aim at Sherrill for what he described as profiting from her time in elected office.TRUMP NOT ON BALLOT, BUT PRESIDENT FRONT AND CENTER IN 2025 ELECTIONSCharlamagne tha God repeatedly pressed Sherrill during their interview in May, citing the $7 million figure, which The Washington Free Beacon approximated by averaging the two ranges.UNLIKELY ALLIES: TRUMP, PELOSI AND THE PUSH TO BAN CONGRESSIONAL STOCK TRADING"One of the worst answers imaginable to that question," conservative commentator Steve Guest said in response to the clip that has since gone viral. After repeatedly dodging the question, Sherrill said, "I think we made money from my husband's job. He gets paid in stocks. They're automatically sold. So, I think we made money there. We don't make any individual money stock trading."She emphasized that she doesn't sell individual stocks, explaining, "I want people to know that I'm not somehow gaining information and enriching myself because of my work in Congress."The Republican Governors Association clipped and posted the video earlier this summer, and it gained more traction on social media after Sunday's debate."There's another big difference between her public service and my public service," Ciattarelli said Sunday. "It actually cost me money. The time I put in and took away from my company. In the seven years that she's been in Congress, he's tripled their net worth."Ciattarelli said Sherrill was "just another politician getting rich while you get squeezed," following a Fox News interview. But Sherrill pushed back on the debate stage, arguing that she doesn't trade individual stocks.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"There have been articles written about how transparent and ethical I've been going above and beyond the requirements in Congress, and I continue to do that," Sherrill said.Sherrill's campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.0 Comments 0 Shares 8 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMEuropean leader praises Trump's 'peace through strength' for keeping country safe from conflictPresident Donald Trumps message of "peace through strength" is already being felt in Europe, Kosovos president said Tuesday, calling the commander-in-chief a key force in keeping the peace between the small nation and neighboring Serbia."The president [Trump] has always been a leader that speaks with clarity and strength and conviction, so, as he takes the stage at the United Nations today, we expect a strong message of peace through strength that has delivered in our part of Europe, because that's the only message that autocrats and crazy leaders around the world who want to kill and cause suffering understand," Kosovan President Vjosa Osmani said Tuesday on "Fox & Friends."The European leader, who described her country as a devoted U.S. ally, credited Trump with being "very successful" in preventing escalations and wars in the region, namely between her country and its northern neighbor, Serbia.TRUMP EXERTED 'MAXIMUM PRESSURE' ON IRAN AND ISRAEL TO 'DELIVER PEACE': LEAVITTIn June, Trump touted success with brokering peace agreements between a series of conflicting nations, including Kosovo and Serbia.Osmani explained that the region has seen a number of "flare-ups" in the past couple of years, crediting help from NATO allies and the Trump administration for keeping things at bay."In September 2023, there was an act of aggression by Serbia against the Republic of Kosovo. We managed to thwart that with the support of our NATO allies. Nevertheless, there is a constant threat coming from Serbia," she explained.FROM TALK TO TACTICS: TRUMP PIVOTS ON RUSSIA STRATEGY TO END WAR"This past May, there was another attempted flare-up, if I may call it so, and this administration has been doing a wonderful job to prevent these [flare-ups] from escalating."Kosovo and Serbia have long been at odds, with tensions simmering since Kosovo declared independence in 2008. Serbia does not recognize Kosovo as an independent state, however.Osmani said "prevention and deterrence" have been "key" to the region, and generations that have seen war after war have finally culminated in a new group that sees peace."We're a country where every single generation before our kids had to go through a war," she said. "Our kids now can go to bed without the sound of firearms and the fear that we had to grow up as children of war because of American leadership."Because of that, Osmani says she counts on Trump's "peace through strength" formula to continue.0 Comments 0 Shares 6 Views 0 Reviews
