WWW.FOXNEWS.COMSavory oatmeal bowls stir up a new breakfast craze with eggs, cheese and spiceBreakfast lovers are scrambling to try a new twist on a classic morning favorite. While nourishing bowls of warm oatmeal have long been topped with berries, nuts, raisins, cinnamon and other sweet toppings, more people are now reaching for eggs, cheese, veggies and spices instead. The rise of savory oats is giving the classic grain a bold, protein-packed makeover.Breakfast trends in 2026 are expected to focus on convenience, global flavors and healthy ingredients, with many moving away from super-sweet morning meals, Better Homes and Gardens magazine recently reported. Oats provide a filling, fiber-rich base, while savory additions add complexity and balance.GEN Z IS DITCHING BOXED CEREALS AT BREAKFAST: 'COULDN'T PAY ME TO EAT THEM'"Oats are a good base because theyre a complex carbohydrate," Yvette Hill, a registered dietitian nutritionist in Colorado, told Fox News Digital. "This means youre getting a good source of fiber that can help you feel satisfied longer in the earlier part of the day."Savory oats can also be a healthy swap for sweet oats because they can impact blood sugar less," Hill added.Savory oats don't have to compromise convenience, Hill said. "To overnight oats, you can add protein from dinner the night before or have hard-boiled eggs available in the fridge."Americans are beginning to embrace other cultures' breakfast traditions beyond the usual sweet, carb-heavy options, thanks to social media, she said. One company leading the trend is Gamsa Foods, a New York City-based food manufacturer that debuted its Korean-inspired savory oatmeal at the 2025 Summer Fancy Food Show. Gamsa's Sesame Garlic Savory flavor blends oats, quinoa, rice and seasonings like sesame, garlic and tamari a gluten free soy sauce for a quick and easy breakfast.Gamsa's co-founder, Sarah Hwang, told the magazine that the savory oatmeal reminds her of childhood favorites, like eggs with Spam, and juk, a slow-cooked Korean rice porridge. "Its cozy, familiar, and nourishing," Hwang said. She also suggests topping oatmeal with sesame oil, kimchi or chili crisp.THIS BREAKFAST MISTAKE MAKES PEOPLE REACH FOR SUGARY SNACKS IN THE AFTERNOONDr. Annie Fenn, the founder of the Brain Health Kitchen, told Real Simple magazine that she swaps maple syrup for a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil over her oats.Olive oil not only complements savory toppings, Fenn said, but adds healthy fats that boost fullness, support heart health and even benefit the brain."Its monounsaturated fats and antioxidant-rich polyphenols help calm inflammation, lower LDL cholesterol, improve circulation and even reduce blood pressure," she said, adding that it could even help sharpen thinking skills and lower the risk of Alzheimers.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTERHealth experts love savory oats for the chance to load them up with extra protein, like eggs, shredded chicken and tofu."I also draw inspiration from avocado toast with a layer of sliced avocado; lots of seeds [such as] pumpkin, chia, sesame; sea salt; and a generous glug of EVOO," Fenn said. For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyleShe sometimes adds cooked mushrooms and Parmesan cheese: "Its like having polenta for breakfast so good!"The trend is causing a stir on TikTok, too. Users have posted savory oat bowls made with bone broth, garlic, bok choy, tomatoes, sunny-side-up eggs and salsa. They say it's the perfect solution for those who "cant stand sweet breakfasts.""Dont hate on savory oatmeal until you try!" one TikToker said.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 32 Visualizações 0 Anterior

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMFBI raid of John Bolton's home reportedly linked to classified documents probeFBI agents raided the Bethesda, Md., home of former national security adviser John Bolton on Friday morning, marking a new tension point in his difficult relationship with President Donald Trump. Agents also raided Boltons D.C. office. The reason behind the raids was reportedly linked to a probe of allegations that Bolton sent classified documents to his family from a private email server while working at the White House, according to the New York Post. The Post cited a Trump administration official who said FBI Director Kash Patel ordered the raid. The outlet also reported that yet-to-be-unsealed search warrants reference a controversy over his memoir to establish a pattern of behavior. However, a senior U.S. official told the Post the probe was a "clean break" from the investigation regarding Boltons book.THE HISTORY OF HOW TRUMP AND BOLTON'S RELATIONSHIP FELL TO TATTERSShortly after the raid began, Patel wrote on X that "no one is above the law [FBI] agents on a mission."FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino shared the post and wrote, "Public corruption will not be tolerated."Bolton, who served in Trumps first administration, has not been arrested or taken into custody. Trump revoked his security clearance and Secret Service detail in January 2025.Trump was asked about the raid on Friday and said he did not know about it ahead of time, claiming he saw it on television. The president then made clear his disdain for his former national security adviser."Im not a fan of John Bolton. Hes a real lowlife," Trump told reporters. He went on to call Bolton "not a smart guy" and said "he could be very unpatriotic."TRUMPBOLTON FEUD BACK IN FOCUS AFTER FBI RAID: 'NEVER HAD A CLUE WHAT A DOPE!'The president also said Bolton was "a very quiet person except on television if he can say something bad about Trump."Vice President JD Vance told "Meet the Press" on Friday that "were in the very early stages of an ongoing investigation into John Bolton." Trump was later indicted on 37 felony counts, which expanded to 40 before the case was dropped in July 2024.During Trumps first administration, a probe into classified documents was launched but later shut down by the Biden administration. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMNational Guard roll out in 19 states not linked to Trumps crime crackdown, WH saysThe White House says National Guard activations in 19 states are unrelated to President Donald Trumps push to expand Washington, D.C.s federal crime crackdown to other cities.Up to 1,700 National Guardsmen are set to mobilize in 19 states in the coming weeks to assist the Department of Homeland Security with the administrations nationwide crackdown on illegal immigration. That operation was initially announced last month and is not linked to potential federal intervention in crime-plagued cities, a White House official told Fox News.TRUMP JOINS POLICE AND MILITARY FORCES IN WASHINGTON STREETS"This isnt new nor is it tied to the Presidents efforts to address violent crime in DC," the official said late Friday."DoD announced last month that National Guard troops would assist DHS with clerical support and other logistical tasks for processing illegal aliens at ICE facilities. It is separate from the federal interagency crime crackdown."Trump activated the National Guard in Washington, D.C., earlier this month as part of an effort to slash violent crime in the nations capital.Touting the operations success at least 465 arrests have been made Trump has signaled he intends to broaden the D.C. mission to other cities. "Were going to make it safe, and were going to then go on to other places," he told federal agents and Guard troops Thursday at a D.C. patrol center. On Friday, Trump added, "I think Chicago will be our next. And then well help with New York."The White House has now clarified the operations are separate."The National Guard mobilizing to assist ICE processing with clerical and logistical tasks in several states is not the same as the Presidents actions to stop crime in DC," the official said. The deployment of 1,700 National Guardsmen was first announced on July 25 in a Pentagon press release. Their roles include collecting personal data, fingerprinting, DNA swabbing and photographing detainees so ICE agents can focus on enforcement.TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ASSIGNS MILITARY ATTORNEYS TO PROSECUTE DC CRIMES AMID FEDERAL CRACKDOWNUnder the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, the use of federal armed forces for civilian law enforcement is generally prohibited. But the National Guard will operate under Title 32 Section 502F authority, which does not apply to Posse Comitatus. At the request of DHS, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in July approved hundreds of additional forces for ICE support and switched existing approvals from Title 10 to Title 32 status."We understood ICEs needs at that time to be more administrative in nature as planning continued, working with our partners, it became clear more that ICE needed something different," a U.S. defense official told Fox News.Meanwhile, 2,279 National Guard soldiers and airmen from Washington, D.C., and six states are already mobilized in the capital, having completed training, according to a Joint Task Force spokesperson. The spokesperson described the figures as an "estimate" but said they are the most accurate available.Under direct presidential authority, Guard members have been posted to monuments, checkpoints and traffic stops across all eight wards, with a mission of deterring crime and maintaining a visible security presence. At Hegseths authorization, those Guard members can now carry weapons if needed. But unlike the states, where Guard forces fall under governors command, in D.C. they operate under direct presidential authority.National Guard forces are carrying out presence patrols across Washington, D.C., including at Metro stations, Union Station, the National Mall and alongside U.S. Park Police.Officials have also linked the D.C. operation to beautification efforts ahead of next years 250th Independence Day celebration.Trump has hinted the Guard may remain in the city for an extended period and that the mission could expand to other parts of the country.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 15 Visualizações 0 Anterior

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMNotorious Scorecard Killer linked to decades-old murder nearly 45 years laterInvestigators have linked yet another murder to a notorious California serial killer nearly 45 years after a mans body was found along an Oregon highway. The body of 30-year-old Larry Eugene Parks was identified by Oregon State Police earlier this year, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.Randy Kraft, the infamous "Scorecard Killer," is the lone suspect authorities are investigating for the 1980 murder, according to Oregon State Police spokesperson Kyle Kennedy.INSIDE THE DEADLY 'SUBURBAN NIGHTMARE' THAT SHATTERED A CONNECTICUT FAMILY'S WORLD"OSP does not have another suspect outside of Kraft," Kennedy said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "We are awaiting testing results of evidence to confirm."On July 18, 1980, police received a report of a body along I-5 south of Portland, sparking a homicide investigation as authorities unsuccessfully attempted to identify the individual. The case ultimately ran cold, until authorities identified Parks nearly 45 years later. Before his death, Parks was a Vietnam veteran and had fallen out of communication with his family in 1979 one year before his body was discovered. He was last seen in Pensacola, Florida, according to police.NEW PERSON OF INTEREST EMERGES IN DOCUMENTARY ON DECADES-OLD DISAPPEARANCE OF IOWA NEWS ANCHORPeter Valentin, chair of the Forensic Science Department at the University of New Haven and a former Connecticut State Police detective, cited the need for investigators to confirm a victims death is the work of a serial killer when looking into these types of cases."Once you believe the death that you have is the work of a serial killer, your investigative efforts stop," Valentin said. "So if you wrongly attribute that death to the serial killer and that's not it at all, there's a killer out there going undetected, unprosecuted because you're not doing any more work, because you think that their killer has been brought to justice."For years, the search for Krafts additional victims has remained ongoing.FATHERS PURSUIT FOR MISSING DAUGHTER HEATS UP WITH NEW EVIDENCE IN CASE THATS NO LONGER COLDLast year, an investigator with the Orange County Sheriffs Department contacted the Oregon State Police Cold Case Unit in an attempt to identify the previously-unknown remains.Using forensic investigative genetic genealogy, authorities were able to develop a genetic profile from a blood sample taken from the remains, police said. Parks identity was ultimately confirmed after possible family members provided DNA profiles to be used in comparison solving a decades-long mystery of what happened to Parks."Forensic genetic genealogy has been a boon to law enforcement and such a help because it allows us to make identifications in previously unidentified human remains cases," Valentin told Fox News Digital. "So essentially, what it's doing is identifying potential family members in the country. By then going to those potential family members and getting a full nuclear DNA profile, then you can make a comparison between your unknown remains and the potential family members, and make a decision as to whether or not this person is their family member."DETECTIVES TRUE CRIME PODCAST HELPS DIG UP BREAKTHROUGH IN CASE THAT HAUNTED FAMILY: DREW AUDIBLE GASPOn May 14, 1983, Kraft was pulled over after California Highway Patrol Officers observed him driving erratically on the 5 Freeway in Mission Viejo, located roughly 50 miles south of Los Angeles, according to the Orange County Sheriffs Department.Following a failed sobriety test, Kraft was handcuffed by police, who then noticed a motionless man in the front seat of the vehicle."Hows my friend?" Kraft asked the officers, who assumed the man was sleeping.PARENTS BELIEVE DAUGHTER WHO VANISHED FROM CRUISE SHIP 27 YEARS AGO IS STILL ALIVEUpon trying to wake the man, identified as 25-year-old Terry Lee Gambrel, who had hitched a ride with Kraft while on his way to a party, authorities discovered he was actually deceased, leading to the ultimate arrest and prosecution of Kraft.Investigators believe Kraft is responsible for the killings of over 60 men between 1971 and 1983 throughout California, Michigan and Oregon, earning the name "Scorecard Killer" because of his catalog of victims names recorded on a white sheet of paper. In 2023, another previously unidentified victim of Krafts was named by also utilizing genetic genealogy, according to the Orange County Sheriffs Office.20 YEARS AFTER NATALEE HOLLOWAY VANISHED, SUSPECTS CONFESSION STILL LEAVES QUESTIONS: PI"In other types of cold cases, what you're doing is relying on the memories of people that you interviewed before," Valentin said. "Now, if you're talking about a case from the early 1970s, that simply isn't viable your witnesses aren't even alive in many situations and so you're simply stuck with the investigative record that you already have, and so your ability to get something new from that is much more limited.""So this really is a new pathway to getting information that doesn't rely on the people associated with the original investigation, whether they be the investigators or the witnesses."The remains of a young man were discovered by two people off-roading in Laguna Hills on Sept. 14, 1974, with investigators initially ruling the mans death to be accidental due to alcohol and diazepam intoxication.GET REAL-TIME UPDATES AT THE FOX NEWS TRUE CRIME HUBThroughout the years, similarities between the unidentified mans death and Krafts other victims led authorities to believe Kraft may have been involved.Valentin pointed to the need to use forensic technology to tie multiple victims to the same perpetrator during the investigative process."When you think that cases are linked together, what you can then do is essentially pull the evidence," Valentin said. "It gives you a higher likelihood of finding something forensically relevant when you now can pull from five or six different cases, as opposed to the one case that you have that belongs to this one offender."FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON XThe man was ultimately identified as 17-year-old Michael Ray Schlicht of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, utilizing a DNA sample from his mother.Despite maintaining his innocence, Kraft was convicted in 1989 of torturing and killing 16 men throughout California in a case that horrified the nation. During the trial, prosecutors revealed Kraft, a former computer programmer, was a fetishist and would often keep trophies of his dismembered victims in his freezer. according to The Associated Press.Kraft, now 80, was sentenced to death and remains incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison."It's wonderful that we're looking at cases that, in the past, we would have said that that case was unsolved and it would never be solved, because the killer here is now 80 years old and in many situations that killer might have died already," Valentin said."So when your killer is dead and your victim clearly is no longer living, and there's nobody to prosecute and then there's nothing to investigate. The idea that this case really was reinvigorated because somebody offered to do genetic genealogy and see if they could identify who the victim was, and that's what started this over that's what brought new life into this investigation."The Associated Press contributed to this report.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 31 Visualizações 0 Anterior

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMConservative activist slams Cracker Barrel; company left reeling after logo redesignAnti-woke crusader Robby Starbuck released a devastating video takedown of Cracker Barrel's leadership, making the case that the restaurant's logo and decor change are the culmination of a years-long campaign to cater to the far Left and abandon the values of its middle-America customer base.Starbuck, who has brought major companies including John Deere, Target, and Harley-Davidson to heel by exposing their woke policies, described Cracker Barrels logo makeover as going from "old American nostalgia" to something "cold, dead, lifeless and modern" in a 15-minute video. He said that, while the Cracker Barrel brand is often associated with American tradition, the company is "infested with left-wing activists who are more interested in safe spaces, pronouns and virtue signaling than they are in their customers."In his video, Starbuck highlights Cracker Barrels support for LGBTQ+ organizations and events, such as Nashville Pride, River City Pride and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).CRACKER BARREL CEO SERVES UP LEFTOVER CORPORATE BRANDING TO UNHAPPY CUSTOMERSHe also noted that the company displayed rocking chairs with rainbow colors and LGBTQ+ insignia. The company even went so far as to place one in its Tennessee corporate office. Rocking chairs are practically synonymous with Cracker Barrel, with the restaurants long porches lined with them at locations nationwide."The fact that it's located there is important to this story because what's happened here is a microcosm of the parasitic operating procedure of left-wing activists," Starbuck said. "They don't just wanna force their soulless, godless, hedonistic vision of the future onto blue hellscapes that their party controls."No, it's much more important to them that they shove it down into your towns, into your kids' schools and into your way of life. So, sticking a pro-trans rocking chair into their headquarters in a predominantly conservative town is exactly the type of thing they revel in doing."Starbuck then pointed to the companys involvement with HRC and participation in the Out and Equal Workplace Summit. For the Out and Equal conference, Cracker Barrel made rocking chairs in every color of the rainbow, representing the LGBTQ+ flag. Out and Equal even gave Cracker Barrel an award for having 2018s top LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group (ERG).CRACKER BARREL DISMISSES CRITICS AS 'VOCAL MINORITY' WHILE RIVAL RESTAURANT ADDS TO BACKLASHThe restaurant chain previously participated in HRCs Corporate Equality Index, which measures "corporate policies, practices, and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer employees," according to the organizations website. A companys score on the index is determined by how inclusive HRC judged it to be toward LGBTQ+ employees.Cracker Barrel told Fox News Digital on Friday that it "has not participated in the Human Rights Campaign Index or had any affiliation with HRC in several years."Two Cracker Barrel employees are called out by name in Starbucks video, Steve Smotherman and Rachel CampBell.Smotherman was the head of management training and development at Cracker Barrel for 15 years, Starbuck asserted, showing a screenshot that appeared to be from LinkedIn. Smotherman, who eventually left Cracker Barrel for Out and Equal, serves on HRC's Business Advisory Council in Washington, D.C.DEMOCRATIC PARTY, GAVIN NEWSOM JOIN ONLINE ROASTING OF NEW CRACKER BARREL LOGOStarbuck describes Smotherman as "the archetype activist employee that fueled the rise of DEI in corporate America." He also slammed CampBell, a manager of training and development at Cracker Barrel, for publicly expressing excitement over the companys rainbow pride rocking chairs."And its important to note all of this because these types of employees play a critical role in turning companies away from the values of their customers and moving the companies toward wokeness," Starbuck said.CRACKER BARREL EXECUTIVE INSISTS RESTAURANT REMODELS ARE 'WHAT THE GUESTS ASKED FOR'Gilbert Dvila, a member of Cracker Barrels board of directors, was also referenced in Starbucks video. Dvila, who joined Cracker Barrels board in 2020, has worked at several major companies, including Disney, Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble. Hes also the co-CEO of DMI Consulting, which looks to "infuse cultural relevance and creativity into every solution." Starbuck asserted that Dvila, and others like him are responsible for the "woke advertising push" seen over the last few years. In the end, Starbuck emphasizes that the controversy around Cracker Barrels logo change is about more than the removal of a man in his chair leaning on a barrel."It's very, very important to understand that the Cracker Barrel story is not about a logo. It's not at all about a logo, it is about a country, it is our heritage, and it is a culture. It's about a power structure built to tell us that we are somehow backwards, embarrassing or bigoted," Starbuck said."A conservative can't give their money to Cracker Barrel. A Christian cannot give their money to Cracker Barrel, and so we won't," he added. As Starbuck sees it, the Cracker Barrel debacle is a win-win for conservatives, saying that the company will either have to double down and lose customers or revert back to its 1977 logo to retain its customer base.Fox News Digitals Brian Flood and Nikolas Lanum contributed to this report.Cracker Barrel did not respond Fox News Digital's request for comment in time for publication.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 30 Visualizações 0 Anterior

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMExperts say date and pumpkin seed snack hack could help improve sleep, ease stressMany Americans are lacking an essential nutrient that could help reduce stress, improve sleep and ease anxiety and depression but experts say a few simple tricks can help boost it.Studies have found that nearly 50% of Americans are deficient in magnesium, which can contribute to fatigue, muscle cramps, weakened bones, poor blood sugar control, and increased risks of conditions such as heart disease and diabetes."Signs of low magnesium can include restless sleep, muscle cramps, twitching, anxiety, fatigue, or constipation," said Leah Kaylor, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist and sleep expert in Arlington, Virginia.YOUR DAILY SANDWICH COULD BE MAKING YOU SAD AND ANXIOUS, HEALTH EXPERTS WARNFor people with deficiencies, eating magnesium-rich foods or magnesium supplementation can help, Kaylor told Fox News Digital.Magnesium supplements, which help support melatonin production, have skyrocketed in popularity in recent years, according to reports, surpassing even fish oil and probiotics. But the mineral can also be found in foods such as leafy greens, nuts, seeds, beans, fish and dark chocolate.According to nutritionists, magnesium can be boosted through several simple and delicious snacks.EATING THESE COMMON FOODS BEFORE BED COULD TRIGGER SWEET DREAMS OR NIGHT TERRORSNew York City-based registered dietitian nutritionist Maddie Pasquariello recently told Real Simple magazine that she recommends a pitted Medjool date with a tablespoon of pumpkin seed butter before bedtime.Pumpkin seeds provide a rich source of magnesium up to 120 milligrams per 2 tablespoons, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture along with fiber, protein and iron, Pasquariello said.DO YOU NEED A MAGNESIUM SUPPLEMENT? Kaylor also suggested tahini, or plain, roasted pumpkin seeds.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTERBut magnesium is not a cure-all, Pasquariello cautioned."Magnesium-rich snacks before bed wont necessarily address underlying sleep issues, since it may not be magnesium intake thats to blame in the first place," Pasquariello shares."All of that being said, for most people, theres no downside to consuming a magnesium-rich snack or drink before bedtime and seeing how it makes you feel," she added. For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyleDr. Mark Kovacs, PhD, a sports scientist and longevity expert in Atlanta, Georgia, agreed that magnesium isn't a "magic bullet.""But for many people its the missing link in their nighttime routine," Kovacs told Fox News Digital."Whether through food, teas, or supplements, adding magnesium consistently can help the body relax and improve overall sleep quality," he added. He recommends herbal teas like chamomile or rooibos. For those taking the supplement route, he suggests magnesium glycinate or citrate, which are better absorbed and gentle on the stomach.Magnesium works best alongside good sleep habits, Kovacs added, such as a cool room, a regular bedtime schedule and limiting blue light which can come from screens before sleep.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 12 Visualizações 0 Anterior

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMRubio's major immigration move praised by conservative experts: 'Long overdue'Secretary of State Marco Rubio's announcement this week halting work visas for foreign commercial truck drivers drew praise from conservatives in the wake of a deadly accident in Florida."Effective immediately, we are pausing all issuance of worker visas for commercial truck drivers," Rubio announced on X on Thursday. "The increasing number of foreign drivers operating large tractor-trailer trucks on U.S. roads is endangering American lives and undercutting the livelihoods of American truckers."The move follows a deadly crash in Florida in which an illegal immigrant from India allegedly struck and killed three people while driving a truck. Questions still loom about how he obtained a commercial drivers license, as federal investigators say the suspect, Harjinder Singh, failed English proficiency and road sign tests.OVER 55 MILLION VISA HOLDERS SUBJECTED TO CONTINUOUS VETTING AMID TRUMP ADMIN CRACKDOWNJessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, stated the move is "long overdue" and that commercial truck drivers should not be brought in from other nations in the first place.CLICK HERE FOR MORE IMMIGRATION COVERAGE"There are legitimate questions about how qualified these foreign truck drivers are, following the horrible episode in Florida, where a non-English-speaking illegal alien who never should have been given any kind of driver's license caused the death of three people as he botched an illegal U-turn in the middle of a divided highway," Vaughan said.Americans can't depend on trucking companies and state regulators to make sure foreign truck drivers are competent and safe, she added. The director of the Heritage Foundations Border Security and Immigration Center, Lora Ries, said its "about road safety and immigration integrity."RUBIO PAUSES WORKER VISAS FOR TRUCK DRIVERS AFTER DEADLY FLORIDA CRASH INVOLVING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT KILLS 3"DHS and the State Department should also analyze all current commercial truck drivers using a visa or an employment authorization document as the basis to obtain a commercial drivers license and revoke such immigration benefits where appropriate.
