The history of how Trump and Bolton's relationship fell to tatters
Former National Security Advisor John Bolton, who served under President Donald Trump's first administration, was the subject of FBI raids at his home and office Friday morning as federal authorities searched for classified documents. The raids follow a storied history between Trump and Bolton that has devolved into the pair trading repeated political blows on the public stage.News broke early Friday morning that FBI agents flocked around Bolton's Maryland home and were seen carrying out boxes, which was followed hours later by the FBI raiding Bolton's Washington, D.C., office."I'm not a fan of John Bolton," Trump told reporters on Friday morning after the raids began, adding he saw the reports but was not aware of details on the raid ahead of time. "He's a real sort of a lowlife."JOHN BOLTON BLASTED BY TRUMP ALLY ROGER STONE, WHO FACED BIDEN FBI RAID: 'KARMA IS A B----'"Hes a very quiet person, except on television, if he can say something bad about Trump," Trump added. "He's not a smart guy, but he could be a very unpatriotic guy. Were going to find out."The remarks echo years of past comments the pair have shared in public forums airing their dissatisfactions with one another, most notably after Trump tapped Bolton to serve as his national security advisor in 2018.Fox News Digital took a look back at the pair's relationship since Trump's mad dash to fill his first administration in 2017, through his ouster of Bolton as the national security advisor and the ongoing clashes the pair have shared since.TRUMPBOLTON FEUD BACK IN FOCUS AFTER FBI RAID: 'NEVER HAD A CLUE WHAT A DOPE!'"I like (Bolton)," Trump said in 2015 while appearing on "Meet the Press" just weeks after announcing his candidacy for the White House. "I think hes, you know, a tough cookie, knows what hes talking about."Bolton was first speculated as a likely pick to serve as Trump's secretary of state in December 2016, when Trump was preparing for his first inauguration after his upset victory over Hillary Clinton in the election that year. Pundits touted Bolton as an experienced foreign policy hawk who could bolster Trump's diplomatic agenda, and conservative outlets such as the National Review's editorial board implored the Trump transition team to choose Bolton, identifying him as a "hard-headed realist whose focus is always the national interest."JAMES COMER PRAISES KASH PATEL FOR 'HOLDING DEEP STATE ACCOUNTABLE' AS FBI RAIDS JOHN BOLTON'S HOMETrump, however, ultimately tapped Rex Tillerson to serve as secretary of state.Bolton showered Trump with praise of his own ahead of his confirmation as national security advisor in 2018, calling the president "a terrific guy" who "knows a lot" when the administration kicked off in 2017.The warm relationship got cozier when Trump announced in 2018 on X that he called on Bolton to serve as his national security advisor"I am pleased to announce that, effective 4/9/18, @AmbJohnBolton will be my new National Security Advisor. I am very thankful for the service of General H.R. McMaster who has done an outstanding job & will always remain my friend. There will be an official contact handover on 4/9.""I didnt really expect that announcement this afternoon," Bolton said on Fox News shortly after the announcement. "But its obviously a great honor and always an honor to serve our country."The pair found common ground on issues such as withdrawing the U.S. from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, otherwise known as the Iran nuclear deal, which was an Obama-era agreement with other world powers to limit Iran's nuclear capabilities.Trump ultimately pulled the U.S. out of the agreement in 2018, slamming it as a "horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made," and was backed by his hawkish group of foreign policy advisors, such as Bolton and then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.Boltons relationship with Trump began to sour as he advanced hard-line strategies toward U.S. adversaries, including Iran and North Korea. He had long advocated regime change in Tehran, though he later clarified in his role as national security advisor that American policy was "not regime change," but rather a push for "massive change in the regimes behavior." Trump, by contrast, initially favored a more diplomatic path, urging that flaws he saw in the Iran nuclear deal be renegotiated before ultimately deciding to withdraw from the agreement altogether.BOLTON TWEET DURING RAID SHOWS FOCUS WAS ELSEWHERE AS FBI SEARCHED HIS HOUSE"John Bolton is absolutely a hawk. If it was up to him, hed take on the whole world at one time, okay?" Trump said of Bolton in June 2019, underscoring the bubbling tensions between the two on foreign policy. In April 2018, Bolton suggested North Korea follow Libyas example of denuclearization, which he called the "Libya model," and included the country giving up its nuclear weapons in 2003 in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions. Bolton's comments about such a model for North Korea set off condemnation in Pyongyang as they raised concerns this would lead to potential regime change.Trump cited the comment following Bolton's abrupt exit from the White House in September 2019."We were set back very badly when John Bolton talked about the Libyan model what a disaster," Trump told reporters at the time.Days ahead of Bolton's ouster, Trump was slated to meet with Taliban leaders in an effort to negotiate peace in Afghanistan, but the meeting never took place and Bolton reportedly slammed such an effort in conversations with Trump, media outlets reported at the time.Bolton was ousted from his role as national security advisor Sept. 10, 2019, with Trump characterizing the departure as a firing, and Bolton saying he tendered his resignation and was not fired.JOHN BOLTON'S HOME RAIDED BY FEDERAL AGENTS, SOURCES SAY"I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House," Trump tweeted in 2019. "I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week."Bolton shot back on X that he "offered to resign last night and President Trump said, Lets talk about it tomorrow.'"The former national security advisor was replaced by Robert C. O'Brien, with Trump and Bolton continuing their contentious relationship years later. The raid on Bolton's home is part of the "early stages of an ongoing investigation into John Bolton," Vice President JD Vance said Friday during an appearance on "Meet the Press." Bolton was not arrested or in custody amid the early morning raids. The searches are focused on potential classified documents agents believe Bolton may still possess, Fox News reported.

Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., spoke out against the organization for having male cheerleaders.Brewer, a former Vikings captain, told Fox News Digital he believes the inclusion of men on the cheerleading squad is an attempt to "manipulate children.""This is purely an attempt to manipulate young children, to overtake the minds of young children with this spiritual evilness," Brewer said. "The influence on kids is manipulating the mind of the children. They are teaching young boys that its okay to have pom-poms and cheer and act like women."Tuberville told OutKicks "Hot Mic" on Tuesday that he believes fans could stop buying tickets over the issue."People will actually quit buying tickets because this is the narrative theyre trying to push. This is not just about a couple of people being men cheerleaders," Tuberville said. "It is about pushing a narrative that you want to put gender into sports and let everyone know were trying to show, Hey, were going to take the masculinity out of it a little bit."The team has stood by the two men, affirming the team is "proud" to have them on the sidelines for this upcoming season."Male cheerleaders have been part of previous Vikings teams and have long been associated with collegiate and professional cheerleading," the Vikings told NBC News. Grandmother accused of masterminding family murder-for-hire plot in dentist's killing of professor
Nearly 11 years after Florida State University law professor Dan Markel was gunned down in his driveway, his former mother-in-law, Donna Sue Adelson, is set to face murder charges on whether she masterminded the killing. The 75-year-old grandmother is accused of first-degree murder, conspiracy, and solicitation of murder in what prosecutors call a cold-blooded family plot to free her daughter, Wendi Adelson, from a bitter custody battle. She has pleaded not guilty.Former Palm Beach County State Attorney Dave Aronberg, who was also a friend of Markel, told Fox News Digital the long wait for trial was deliberate."The day of reckoning for Donna is here and justice has come slowly, but it is going to arrive," he said. "Prosecutors had to go step by step, starting with the hitmen, then Katherine Magbanua [Adelson's former girlfriend], then Charlie Adelson [Markel's former brother-in-law]. Only then did they have enough to take down Donna."HIRING A HITMAN: INSIDE A FLORIDA DENTIST'S ALLEGED PLOT TO HAVE HIS SISTER'S EX, A PROMINENT ATTORNEY, KILLEDSince the 2014 murder, Charlie Adelson has been convicted and sentenced to life in prison. Two men hired in the scheme,Luis Rivera and Sigfredo Garcia, as well as their go-between Katherine [Katie] Magbanua, are also serving lengthy sentences, according to the Associated Press.Prosecutors argue Donna was the matriarch who orchestrated the killing behind the scenes.Aronberg said the strategy of stacking convictions was key: "I dont think you get to Donna without getting to Katie Magbanua and then Charlie Adelson first. Its been a very successful strategy and its not done yet."FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON XMarkel, a rising legal scholar, was embroiled in a contentious divorce and custody dispute with Donnas daughter, Wendi Adelson, when he was ambushed and shot in July 2014.Prosecutors say Donna and her son, Charlie Adelson, worked with hired hitmen to eliminate Markel, so Wendi could relocate with her children to South Florida.Donna, prosecutors argue, was the matriarch who orchestrated the killing behind the scenes.SIGN UP TO GET THE TRUE CRIME NEWSLETTERJury selection began Tuesday in Tallahassee, Florida. Aronberg said the trial will likely move quicker than Charlies trial because prosecutors and judges now know the case inside and out."Donna will take the stand, they will cross-examine her it will be must-see TV," he said. "And I think justice will be done."One of the prosecutions sharpest tools, Aronberg said, is Donnas "consciousness of guilt," primarily from her 2023 attempt to flee the U.S. to Vietnam. Notably, Vietnam has no extradition treaty with the U.S."The best evidence for the jury will be consciousness of guilt," Aronberg explained. "She tried to flee the country on a one-way ticket to Vietnam. Thats not how an innocent person acts."FLORIDA WOMAN SENTENCED TO LIFE BEHIND BARS IN MURDER-FOR-HIRE SHOOTING DEATH OF PROMINENT FSU LAW PROFESSORIn 2016, the FBI conducted an undercover operation known as "the bump" against Donna. An agent approached Donna in Miami posing as an extortionist tied to the killers."If you had nothing to do with this crime, youd throw the paper away or call police," Aronberg said. "She didnt either. She called her son, whos now in prison for life, and spoke in code about the TV, which was their code for the murder. Thats not how an innocent person acts."WOMAN, 73, ARRESTED AT MIAMI AIRPORT AFTER ALLEGED MURDER-FOR-HIRE PLOT TARGETING FORMER SON-IN-LAWAronberg also noted contradictions in Donnas story: the Adelsons were outraged at being asked for a fake $5,000 payoff during the sting, yet later were willing to pay $300,000 when Magbanua said the killers wanted it, according to testimony at Charlie Adelson's trial."That doesnt make any sense," he said.Aronberg suggested that the defense may lean into Donnas 75-year-old status as a grandmother and loving mother."Shes going to say she was just being a good mother to her son thats why her money got into the killers hands. But that didnt work for Charlie, and it wont work for her," he said. "Her better defense would be accessory after the fact, but she wants exoneration entirely. She thinks she can put one over on the jury. That didnt work for Charlie, and it wont work for her.""She may hope jurors will see a frail grandmother, but shes not sympathetic," he said. "She took the stand pre-trial, and it did not go well. She doesnt come across sympathetically."LIFE SENTENCE: MOTHER OF FLORIDA LAWYER KILLED IN MURDER-FOR-HIRE PLOT DETAILS FAMILY'S FIGHT FOR JUSTICEAt the time of his murder, Markel was a rising legal scholar and embroiled in a contentious divorce and custody dispute with his wife, Wendi Adelson. Prosecutors allege that Donna and her son, Charlie, arranged the murder so Wendi could gain full custody of their children and start a new life in South Florida.GO HERE FOR MORE TRUE CRIME FROM FOX NEWS DIGITALWendi has not been charged but has been repeatedly named in court filings. She has fought a subpoena to testify at her mothers trial, arguing it could jeopardize her Fifth Amendment rights. Aronberg expects she will still take the stand, under immunity if called by the prosecution."As for Donna, shell testify too," Aronberg said. "She really believes her story. But just like Charlie, shell learn the jury isnt buying it."Fox News Digital has reached out to Donna Adelson's defense team, Jackie Fulford and Joshua Zelman, for comment.

Luigi Mangione case shows how grievance culture has become America's 'license to break the law'
In America today, a dangerous mindset is spreading: if you feel wronged, you get to make your own rules. That is how we have reached the point where some people hail a man accused of murder as a hero, simply because his violence was fueled by a grievance. The case of Luigi Mangione, accused of killing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in the name of a grievance, is a chilling example. It is the kind of headline that grabs attention, but the thinking behind it is not confined to extreme cases. In my two decades as a psychotherapist in New York City and Washington, D.C., I have seen the same logic at work in quieter, everyday forms. Whether the act is violent or seemingly small, the script is the same: I have been wronged, therefore I am entitled to break the rules.Recently, a female patient admitted to shoplifting from a neighborhood store. Her reasoning: "They can afford it, they overcharge anyway, and probably underpay their employees." Im not a priest. She wasnt confessing. She was justifying. She believed she was right.LUIGI MANGIONE MUSICAL SELLS OUT IN SAN FRANCISCO, PRODUCERS EYE NATIONAL TOUR AFTER SMASH DEBUTThis mindset is part of a broader national collapse of resilience. We are raising and rewarding a fragile way of thinking that mistakes discomfort for danger, grievance for identity, and emotional reactivity for truth. New polling shows the divide clearly: 45% of liberals report poor mental health, compared to just 19% of conservatives. This is not about politics. It is about how we are being taught to face adversity. One approach builds resilience. The other conditions people to see themselves as perpetual victims, primed to interpret any setback as injustice and any discomfort as harm.Victimhood has become a currency and grievance is a license to break the law. There was once a time when personal responsibility was the standard. You could be wronged and still be expected to act with integrity. Now the more wronged you feel, the more moral license you believe you have to act outside the rules. That is why some people have gone beyond excusing Mangiones alleged plot to celebrating it.SOCIAL MEDIA SUPPORT FOR ACCUSED KILLERS LUIGI MANGIONE, ELIAS RODRIGUEZ AN 'EXCEPTIONALLY BAD SIGN': EXPERTIn certain corners of social media, Mangione has been elevated to a kind of folk hero, portrayed as a man who "stood up" against powerful enemies. That fantasy reached absurd heights in San Francisco, the liberal bastion where a tongue-in-cheek stage production called "Luigi: The Musical" sold out. Picture it: a man accused of cold-blooded murder turned into a singing, dancing symbol of "resistance," cheered on by an audience that treats him like a rebel icon. If it were satire, it might be funny. It isnt. This mindset did not appear overnight. Therapy culture has been feeding it for years. Too many therapists have stopped challenging their patients and started enabling them. I have seen patients told to quit a new job after just one week because it "triggered" them, and others advised to cut off an entire family without any attempt at reconciliation. No conversation. No problem-solving. Just retreat and self-justification.When therapy validates grievance instead of dismantling it, the mindset spreads. It shows up in schools, workplaces, politics and the streets. Social media then amplifies it, rewarding outrage, magnifying slights and creating echo chambers where grievance is not just validated, it is weaponized.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONThe more personal and emotional the grievance is, the more followers it draws. And when people see their own frustrations reflected in someone like Mangione, they project their anger onto him and reinterpret his alleged actions as justice. The danger is obvious. When grievance is elevated over morality, the threshold for acceptable behavior collapses. Harming others becomes a legitimate response to feeling wronged. Public safety erodes. Shared norms vanish. And in the vacuum, each person decides which rules apply to them and which do not.We cannot keep pretending this is harmless venting. The glorification of Mangione shows just how far grievance culture has gone. If we do not reverse course, we will see more alleged criminals turned into symbols, more mobs fueled by outrage, and more ordinary people convinced their anger is a license to harm. The way back is simple: restore resilience and personal responsibility as cultural values. Therapists must stop feeding victim narratives and start teaching coping skills. Schools should teach grit alongside empathy. Politicians must reject grievance-based policymaking. And each of us must resist the temptation to excuse bad behavior simply because we relate to the grievance behind it.Mangiones alleged crime may be shocking, but the celebration of it is worse. It shows that the mindset which excuses, and sometimes cheers, lawlessness is already here. Unless we push back, this culture will keep making folk heroes out of criminals, and Americas unraveling will continue one "justified" act at a time.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE BY JONATHAN ALPERT

To now join forces as the anchor team for Rams return to NASCAR is both an honor and a responsibility. Together, were ready to set a new standard on race day and in the impact we make off the track."The Dodge brand was one of the founding manufacturers of the Truck Series before 1995, and it ultimately led to Ram standing tall as its own brand by 2010. However, it closed shop in 2013 and has been dormant since. That changed on June 8 at Michigan International Speedway, where Ram announced it would return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. But while excitement filled the air, a big question immediately entered the minds of every race team: Who is Ram teaming up with?MATT KAULIG DISCUSSES REALLY BIG ADDITION OF TY NORRIS IN EXECUTIVE ROLE: WE JUST CONTINUE TO ELEVATE"Walking around the garage, you cant even say anything," Kaulig said, knowing they would be the partners of the iconic American manufacturer. "And everyones trying to guess like, Whos the team? Is it you guys? Were like, No, is it you? So, just to be able to get it out in the open and get rolling, thats been the biggest thing."As Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis put it: "We needed a partner that truly aligns with the Ram brand and embraces our unconventional approach to NASCAR."Ty Norris, the chief business officer of Kaulig Racing, who brings more than three decades of NASCAR expertise, knew his teams nontraditional, aggressive approach made sense for this opportunity."When we met with Tim and Nate [Buelow] in Auburn Hills, Michigan, they told us not everyone is gonna want to market like we are and take on this responsibility," Norris told Fox News Digital. "As they were looking at multiple teams, Kaulig Racing became the team that fit all the pieces. It had a lot to do with Matt, who, in relevant terms, is young. He clearly has the means, and he has the passion for the sport. Hes nontraditional, so I think that really got Tim excited because theyre going to do some nontraditional things in their marketing approach."When they looked at the overall picture of Kaulig Racing, they said this one checks all the boxes."Nontraditional is something Kaulig Racing wears as a badge of honor. Its a young team that debuted in 2016 in the Xfinity Series less than 10 years ago. As Kaulig said, his team didnt even have a race shop when it began. But the drive of a new challenge fuels the 52-year-old entrepreneur, who built his gutter-protection business, LeafFilter, into a multimillion-dollar company out of his garage. His love for racing has only grown since LeafFilter sponsored a vehicle to the point where Kaulig Racing was started. The team now boasts 27 Xfinity wins and two Cup Series victories.NASCAR GIVES FANS RAW, BEHIND-THE-SCENES LOOK AT XFINITY SERIES IN TROPHY HUNTING WITH KAULIG RACING"I dont know how many teams in the history of NASCAR have won in all three series," Kaulig said. "So, thats a really big goal for me and our organization. Its like, OK, weve shown we can compete even at the Cup level. We show that we can win a couple regular-season championships in Xfinity. Well win again and be successful in those series as well, but to do it in the Truck Series now with Ram and bringing in all the excitement and drama that goes along with that, its fun. Its going to be an absolute blast."What makes this perfect synergy with Kaulig Racing and Ram? Kaulig put it bluntly."Its American bada--," he said, smiling.Kaulig Racings aggressive approach on the business side attracted Ram, but on the performance side, team president Chris Rice, who has experience operating Truck Series teams, feels the same way.Its the "Kaulig Way," and that means doing things differently than other teams in the garage. Rice put it perfectly as he referenced Kauligs company-wide motto."If youre not growing, youre dying," Rice told Fox News Digital. "Thats kind of the motto we talk about. Just to be able to be in the Truck Series on Friday or Thursday when they run is good. To get our name out there, Kaulig Racing, its awesome for our company and for what Matt does. This is what he believes in, being entrepreneurial. They tell us we cant do it? Lets show them we can."Having up to five trucks to work with can be a massive challenge, especially for a team like Kaulig Racing breaking into the new series. But, once again, challenge is something this group takes head-on, and Rice knows the main factor in making sure this operation runs smoothly."It boils down to people, and the way we do it at Kaulig Racing is were family," he said. "Everybody works on everything. Youre not on a Cup team, youre not on the Xfinity team. With this, youre not just on the truck team, youre on the Kaulig Racing team."The Kaulig way is tough because we are aggressive. You gotta believe it, you gotta eat it, you gotta breathe it, you gotta sleep it."Rice has lived up to those words, working long hours and collaborating with Kaulig, Norris and everyone to get the right people in place to be ready to compete by February 2026. The reason for the long hours, though, is understanding what this means for Kaulig Racing to be teaming up with Ram.There is a weight of responsibility one they dont take for granted."We need to present ourselves correctly and theres a lot of responsibility in carrying that brand with us," Norris said. "When a company this size, a great American company in that blue-collar approach to everything, theres a responsibility to take that brand and reintroduce it to the NASCAR fan base."Kaulig added: "It is more fun, to me, than it is responsibility. Were full of responsibility and full of responsible people, so Im not worried about that part of it. Its just the fun of building a business."The Kaulig Racing team knows, from top to bottom, the challenges and obstacles that lie ahead. But the thrill of working alongside Ram, and hopefully getting into victory lane next year, is what excites this burgeoning team."This is all about family, all about fun, and all about winning races," Rice said. "Thats what we want to get back to: winning races and trophy hunting. Its just a new era of trophy hunting in the Truck Series."Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Its really an invasion: Protesters slam Trumps DC police takeover as crime tumbles
Protesters continue to blast the Trump administrations takeover of policing in Washington, DC, likening it to an "invasion" even as crime plummets.Demonstrators, who did not appear to be part of a specific organization, on a pedestrian bridge on the I-95 in Virginia near the city this week, said that "our systems are being assaulted.""What the problem is, is that these are the National Guard are like my friends' sons and daughters," one woman told Fox News Digital. "It's their time away from their family. The money being wasted to make a point is really sort of disgraceful and un-American because they're sending them against actual Americans with weapons. And it's really an invasion. And we're not Russia, we're the United States of freaking America."TRUMP VOWED DC TAKEOVER MULTIPLE TIMES ON 2024 CAMPAIGN TRAIL: 'HE'S KEEPING HIS PROMISE'The DC Police Union says crime has taken a tumble in since the takeover was announced by President Donald Trump earlier this month. On Thursday, it was noted that there were no reported homicides in the city in the past week.In addition to the National Guard, numerous federal agencies, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the FBI, are on patrol in the capital city. Attorney General Pam Bondi signed an order that prompts local officers to comply with federal immigration authorities in a strong rebuke to the citys own sanctuary policies.PROTESTERS CONFRONT OFFICERS PATROLLING DC STREETS AFTER TRUMP POLICING TAKEOVER"719 arrests and 91 illegal guns seized in Washington, DC Just yesterday we made 40 arrests, took 5 more illegal firearms off our streets, and had 36 ICE arrestsincluding a suspected MS-13 gang member. Thank you [President Trump] for your unwavering support to make DC safe again!" Bondi posted to X on Friday morning.Trump has threatened to take the takeover a step further in a Truth Social post on Friday."Washington, D.C. is SAFE AGAIN! The crowds are coming back, the spirit is high, and our D.C. National Guard and Police are doing a fantastic job. They are out in force, and are NOT PLAYING GAMES!!!" he wrote."As bad as it sounds to say, there were no murders this week for the first time in memory. Mayor Muriel Bowser must immediately stop giving false and highly inaccurate crime figures, or bad things will happen, including a complete and total Federal takeover of the City! Washington D.C. will soon be great again!!!" the president added.BLUE CITIES IN TRUMPS CROSSHAIRS AFTER DC POLICE TAKEOVERAnother protester noted that he is glad to see that crime has dropped in the city, but said declaring the crime issue in Washington D.C. was not necessary."I really do believe that we are edging into an area where we are not following the law, where we're not doing the things that we need to be doing in order to serve the people," he said."I'm very happy that crime's down, and it doesn't surprise me at all if you're going to have troops and a lot of people having law enforcement on the streets," he said. "The problem with this is that we are making an emergency out of something that wasn't an emergency."
