WWW.FOXNEWS.COMFBI agrees to help locate Texas Democrats who fled state to sabotage GOP redistricting plan, Cornyn saysSen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, announced Thursday that the FBI has granted his request for federal agents to help locate Texas Democratic lawmakers who fled the state to stall a GOP redistricting vote.Cornyn said the FBI agreed to assist Texas law enforcement in locating members of the Texas House of Representatives "who have fled the state in a shameful attempt to thwart the legislative process.""I am proud to announce that Director Kash Patel has approved my request for the FBI to assist state and local law enforcement in locating runaway Texas House Democrats," Cornyn said in a statement. "I thank President Trump and Director Patel for supporting and swiftly acting on my call for the federal government to hold these supposed lawmakers accountable for fleeing Texas. We cannot allow these rogue legislators to avoid their constitutional responsibilities."DEM GOVERNOR DEFIES FBI: 'UNWELCOME' TO PURSUE TEXAS DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERSThe FBI declined to comment when reached by Fox News Digital. In Texas, more than 50 Democratic lawmakers fled the state earlier this month to prevent a necessary quorum in the Texas House, which requires at least 100 members of the 150-member body to be present.Democratic Govs. J.B. Pritzker of Illinois, Gavin Newsom of California and Kathy Hochul of New York have offered sanctuary to those Texas Democrats, championing the gridlock they've caused as a fight to save democracy.Cornyn sent a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel on Tuesday asking the bureau to help locate or arrest "potential lawbreakers" who fled in a maneuver to avoid legislative responsibilities "in violation of their oath of office."COLBERT CONFRONTS JB PRITZKER WITH MAP SHOWING ILLINOIS GERRYMANDERING"Out-of-state actors have made public comments about protecting the Texas legislators who are currently hiding out of state from any accountability for their actions," Cornyn wrote. "I request the FBIs assistance, as federal resources are necessary to locate the out-of-state Texas legislators who are potentially acting in violation of the law. The FBI has tools to aid state law enforcement when parties cross state lines, including to avoid testifying or fleeing a scene of a crime."The letter cited concerns that legislators "who solicited or accepted funds to aid in their efforts to avoid their legislative duties may be guilty of bribery or other public corruption offenses.""Governor Abbott and Texas state law enforcement officers are doing what they can within the confines of the law, but federal help may be necessary," Cornyn wrote. "These legislators have committed potential criminal acts in their rush to avoid their constitutional responsibilities and must be fully investigated and held accountable. I urge you to work with Texas public officials to provide them the support they need."Texas Gov. Greg Abbott convened a special session to try to advance a congressional redistricting plan which could add five new Republican-leaning House seats before next year's midterm elections.Abbott on Tuesday also filed an emergency petition with the state Supreme Court asking to remove State Rep. Gene Wu from office, categorizing him as the "ringleader of the derelict Democrats who fled the state to break quorum."President Donald Trump is pushing Republican states to open the process for redistricting mid-cycle to give the GOP a better chance of maintaining control of the House.Meanwhile, Texas state Republicans voted to issue civil arrest warrants and $500 daily fines for Democratic colleagues who abandoned their duties.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 17 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMRepublican senator claims RFK Jr. mRNA vaccine decision undermines Trump agendaSen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., has condemned the Department of Health and Human Services' move to shift funding away from mRNA vaccine development, claiming it undermines President Donald Trump's agenda to make the nation healthy again."We reviewed the science, listened to the experts, and acted," Department of Health and Human Services Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said, according to an HHS press release."BARDA is terminating 22 mRNA vaccine development investments because the data show these vaccines fail to protect effectively against upper respiratory infections like COVID and flu. Were shifting that funding toward safer, broader vaccine platforms that remain effective even as viruses mutate."RFK JR CANCELS $500 MILLION IN MRNA RESEARCH, HHS TO PRIORITIZE SAFER VACCINE ALTERNATIVESCassidy registered his objection to the move."It is unfortunate that the Secretary just canceled a half a billion worth of work, wasting the money which is already invested. He has also conceded to China an important technology needed to combat cancer and infectious disease. President Trump wants to Make America Healthy Again and Make America Great Again. This works against both of President Trumps goals," the lawmaker said in a post on X.The HHS stated, "While some final-stage contracts (e.g., Arcturus and Amplitude) will be allowed to run their course to preserve prior taxpayer investment, no new mRNA-based projects will be initiated. HHS has also instructed its partner, Global Health Investment Corporation (GHIC), which manages BARDA Ventures, to cease all mRNA-based equity investments. In total, this affects 22 projects worth nearly $500 million. Other uses of mRNA technology within the department are not impacted by this announcement."GOP LOUISIANA STATE SENATOR SAYS HE'S RUNNING FOR US SENATE BECAUSE INCUMBENT REPUBLICAN SUCKSFox News Digital reached out to Cassidy's office to request comment from the senator on Thursday, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.Cassidy, who has served in the upper chamber since 2015, is aiming to get re-elected in 2026, though the incumbent faces competition from other Republicans who have also launched bids for the Senate seat.WHO IS JOHN FLEMING, THE FREEDOM CAUCUS FOUNDING MEMBER CHALLENGING GOP SEN BILL CASSIDY?In February 2021, Cassidy voted to convict Trump after the House impeachment in the wake of the January 6 episode at the U.S. Capitol. That Senate vote, which occurred after Trump had already left office, ultimately fell short of the threshold necessary to convict.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 10 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMCaitlin Clark cracks at Fever teammates for posting viral bikini video: 'Focus on basketball'Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull spent the day relaxing by the pool before a game, and Caitlin Clark may or may not have been pretty upset by it.The blonde-haired Indiana Fever stars posted a TikTok of themselves in bikinis before their game in Los Angeles against the Sparks in a call to get swimsuit brands to endorse them."We are off to our game tonight. Convince us theres a swimsuit brand that wants to partner with two Indiana Fever mermaids," Cunningham wrote in the video.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe top comment on the video was from Clark."Swimsuit brands plz comment focus on basketball," she wrote. In a since-deleted reply, Cunningham fired back."maybe a brand will make a full body wet suit for your pale a-- too We all win!" Cunningham said, according to multiple outlets. The TikTok post has over 1.5 million views. It's all just fun and games - after all, Cunningham is the one who came to Clark's defense earlier this season, which prompted quite the ruckus on the court and multiple ejections. The three players have also clearly grown very close on and off the court.Cunningham also called Clark the face of the WNBA and ripped those who think otherwise.SOPHIE CUNNINGHAM FINED AGAIN, THIS TIME FOUR FIGURES, FOR CRITICIZING REFEREES A SECOND TIME"It literally p---es me off when people are like, 'She's not the face of the league,'" Cunningham said of her Indiana teammate during the first episode of the "Show Me Something" podcast. "We have a lot of bada--es in our league, and, hell yeah, I'm all for that, but when people try to argue that she's not the face of our league or that our league would be where we're at without her, you're dumb as s---. You're literally dumb as f---."Cunningham recalled her 2024 season with the Phoenix Mercury in her argument that Clark's star power led to harsher on-court treatment from competitors during her rookie season."I know the talks Phoenix had in their locker room of, like, 'We're going to show her what the W really is,'" Cunningham said. "I get it to a certain extent. Every rookie coming into the league, that's how you're going to treat them. But there's just more for her. It's her second year. Now being on her team and seeing it, I'm like, 'What are people doing?' It's just too much."The guard is in her seventh WNBA season, but she's hit the big time ever since she started a ruckus in defense of Clark.Jacy Sheldon poked Clark in the eye and was also pushed to the floor by Marina Mabrey. Cunningham wrapped up Sheldon under the basket on a hard foul in the fourth quarter, and the two were ejected. In 25 games this year, Cunningham is putting up 8.0 points per contest and shooting 41.9% from three-point range.Fox News' Chantz Martin contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 10 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMFBI investigating 'horrific antisemitic attack' on American who served in Israeli armyThe FBI is investigating a "horrific antisemitic attack" that happened in Clayton, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. The target of the attack was an American citizen who served with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).Just after 3 a.m. on Aug. 5, officers from the Clayton Police Department (CPD) arrived at the scene where three vehicles were set on fire outside the home of the unnamed American citizen. The words "DEATH TO THE IDF" were also spray-painted in the driveway. Officials are treating the incident as a hate crime and believe the fires were set intentionally.AUTHORITIES PROBE ANTISEMITIC ATTACK INVOLVING ARSON, THREATENING GRAFFITI IN MIDWEST CITY: 'VIOLENT ACTS'"Anyone who's going to make an attack on Jewish Americans, you can expect criminal charges, unlike the previous administration," Leo Terrell, who leads the DOJ Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, told Fox News. He later vowed on X that the Trump administration would ensure that "those who commit antisemitic hate crimes will be brought to justice. Zero tolerance for Jew hatred in America!"Clayton Mayor Bridget McAndrew condemned the attack on Tuesday, saying the city would "not tolerate harassment, intimidation, or violence based on someones nationality, race, religion, or ideology."OPINION: ANTISEMITIC VIOLENCE ERUPTS IN AMERICA AS SOME INVOKE INTIFADA AND TARGET JEWS"The attack on a Jewish family in St. Louis is yet another example of politically and ideologically motivated violence that should concern everyone. Upon learning of the incident, the embassy alerted Senior Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights in the United States Department of Justice, Attorney Leo Terrell, who is aggressively implementing a policy of zero tolerance for anti-Israel violence and violent rhetoric," a spokesperson for the Israeli Embassy in D.C. told Fox News Digital. While hate crimes dropped slightly in 2024, according to FBI data, anti-Jewish hate crimes hit a new high. The bureau recorded 11,679 hate crime incidents in 2024 versus 11,862 in 2023. Even though Jews make up approximately 2% of the U.S. population, according to Pew research, FBI data indicates that 16% of all hate crimes and nearly 70% of all religion-based hate crimes were anti-Jewish.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe Anti-Defamation League (ADL) also keeps track of antisemitic incidents, documenting a total of 9,354 in 2024, the highest number on record since it began tabulating in 1979. The difference between the ADLs and FBIs numbers is due to the ADLs inclusion of non-criminal acts, while the bureau only counts criminal incidents. The Trump administration has focused on combating rising antisemitism in the U.S. through its establishment of the task force led by Terrell. Additionally, the administration has worked to penalize universities that it says did not adequately handle antisemitism on their campuses.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 10 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMLawmakers under fire for sharing ICE raid info, warning locals of immigration enforcement operationsAs President Donald Trump and his Department of Homeland Security have ramped up enforcement of U.S. immigration law after the Biden-era deluge at the border, some Democrats have come under fire for their responses to the situation.Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has held "Know Your Rights" webinars and disseminated guides to constituents concerned about ICE conducting operations in her Queens and Bronx district."ICE raids are political tactics, and theyre often intended to create fear," one proctor in an Ocasio-Cortez webinar advised. "Do not open your door," an Ocasio-Cortez-branded document read elsewhere advising residents to demand to see ICEs judicially signed warrants.Such efforts by the "Squad" member drew the attention of Border Czar Thomas Homan, who told Fox News he had sent a letter to the Department of Justice questioning whether she may have broken the law.AOC SAYS DOJ 'WON'T RESPOND' TO HER INQUIRY ON POTENTIAL PROBE"At what level is that impediment [of federal law enforcement operations]?" Homan asked "Ingraham Angle" host Laura Ingraham."If so, what are we going to do about it? . . . Maybe AOC is going to be in trouble now."At the state government level, Arizona state Sen. Analise Ortiz came under fire for her response to ICE operations.Ortiz, D-Phoenix, was accused of "doxxing" ICE by LibsOfTikTok commentator Chaya Raichik, after she reportedly posted live locations of federal agents on her Instagram page.Ortiz defended her work, comparing it to how the automotive app WAZE alerts drivers to police activity, speed traps or car crashes. She then took a jab at three Republican lawmakers she claimed had faced similar trouble in the past, quipping that they mightve been "better off" using WAZE.HOUSE REPUBLICANS WARN ANTI-ICE RHETORIC FROM DEMOCRATS IS DRIVING VIOLENT ATTACKS ON AGENTSThe situation drew calls for a formal federal investigation this week from Arizona State Senate President Warren Petersen, R-Gilbert."Public servants have a duty to uphold the law and respect those who enforce it, not undermine them," Gilbert said.Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Tricia McLaughlin countered in comments to Fox News Digital:"Arizona state Senator Analise Ortiz is siding with vicious cartels, human traffickers, and violent criminals over American citizens," she said.In Georgia, a self-described socialist millennial lawmaker was lambasted earlier this year for reportedly posting a step-by-step video to Facebook advising how to avoid ICE raids."We have seen examples of it happening in our district and around our metro area," said state Rep. Gabriel Sanchez, D-Vinings.Sanchez told viewers of the video, also published by the Cobb County Voice, "Do not answer any question," and "Do not sign any documents.""We are doing everything in our power we can to protect our community, including looking at legislation that could help with this issue."Sanchez was previously one of the organizers of "Stop Cop City," a socialist activist group that made headlines for violently attempting to prevent Atlanta law enforcement from constructing a new training center.During the first Trump administration, Massachusetts state Rep. Michelle DuBois, D-Brockton, warned undocumented constituents of planned ICE operations in Plymouth County.DuBois advised people to call a 774 number that linked to a legal services group in the even they needed "immigration help."She then said she wanted to "relay" a message from a member of the "Latin community.""Please be careful on Wednesday ... ICE will be in Brockton that day.If you are undocumented, don't go out on the street. If there is a knock on the door of your house, and you don't know who it is, don't open the door, I ask you to be careful," she said. When confronted at an event by a reporter from CBS Boston affiliate, DuBois said, "ICE is welcome to call my office" and claimed the reporter was spreading "hearsay.""Passing information along that is already all over the community not only lets the people I represent know what is happening, it lets ICE know that everyone in Brockton is aware of their intended raid if there was one," DuBois said in a statement.Neighboring Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson went to Congress to warn that the situation was "most outrageous.""Its undermining my job and every other officer in the United States," he told then-Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 10 Просмотры 0 предпросмотр
