Russian drones test NATO's Article 5 defense guarantee ahead of Friday sanctions deadline
Days ahead of the U.S. preparing harsh new sanctions tied to the war in Ukraine, Russian Vladimir Putin, whether intentionally or just carelessly, has tested the political will of NATOs collective defense guarantee, Article 5.In recent days, drones launched from the Russian-aligned state of Belarus have pierced Lithuanian airspace, drawing alarms from the regions political and military leaders. One drone traversed approximately 100 kilometers, loitered ominously over Vilnius carrying two kilograms of explosives and ultimately crashed inside a military training zone. Earlier in July, another drone forced the evacuation of high-level officials when it crashed near the umskas border crossing.Simultaneously, Russian forces struck a Ukrainian gas depot located mere yards from Romanias border half a mile away, a strike that triggered warnings and prompted Romanian F16s to patrol the vicinity.Though these seem like isolated incidents, observers point to a troubling pattern. Russian drones have drifted or perhaps even been directed into NATO airspace before, and NATOs response has been muted.NEW ROMANIAN LAW MAY HAVE AVERTED NATO CLASH WITH RUSSIA AFTER BORDER STRIKESAndrew DAnieri, associate director of the Atlantic Councils Eurasia Center, told Fox News Digital that while it isnt crystal clear whether Putin is openly testing Article 5, his apparent lack of caution about these actions is telling."The kind of alarming thing is, we havent seen any real response from NATO to any of these," D'Anieri said.Lithuanian Defense Minister Dovil akalien, while stressing that there is no evidence suggesting the latest drone breached intentionally, said "this is an unprecedented and alarming incident," especially given that the drone flew just one kilometer from the presidents residence.Describing the behavior as "reckless drone incursions," she warned they amount to "a direct test of NATOs resolve." In response, Lithuania has pledged to review its defensive protocols and urged NATO to bolster its air defenses as a clear message that the alliance stands ready to safeguard every inch of its territory.Romania, having endured repeated drone spillovers, passed a law this May empowering its forces to intercept or destroy unauthorized drones. As a result, no incursion occurred in connection with the latest strike near its border.Bruno Kahl, head of Germanys Federal Intelligence Service, has been sounding the alarm for months. In November 2024, Kahl cautioned that Russias growing employment of hybrid tactics ranging from sabotage and cyberattacks to disinformation raises the likelihood that NATO may ultimately feel compelled to invoke Article 5.NATO JETS SCRAMBLED AMID RUSSIA'S LARGEST DRONE ATTACK ON UKRAINEMore recently, his warnings intensified. In June 2025, he told the media that Moscow appears intent on putting NATOs unity and collective defense to the test. Kahl revealed that Russian officials seem to doubt whether the alliance would uphold Article 5 and might instead deploy covert measures "little green men" or hybrid provocations to probe NATOs response, rather than launching overt invasions. This perspective was echoed by former Lithuanian Ambassador Eitvydas Bajarnas, who told Fox News Digital that even if the drone events werent intentional, their psychological force is real."This will be the future of war in Eastern Europe," he said. "We might not expect an immediate Russian attack, we might have Russia testing how institutions react, how the public reacts, even. Russia might use these even accidental drone incursions into Baltic airspace, to shore up public anxiety."Bajarunas too called for a whole of NATO response. "These are incursions into NATO territory. That's why we should not think of it only as a national response, but also allies, the response of the whole of NATO."Putins hybrid probes, from drone flights to border strikes, may well mark the new battleground in Eastern Europe, where the test is not one of tanks or missiles, but of unity, readiness and political will.President Donald Trump gave Putin until Friday for a breakthrough in peace negotiations, after which he has promised to enact steep sanctions.Trump suggested this week he would target Putins oil-backed war coffers."Putin will stop killing people if you get energy down another $10 a barrel. Hes going to have no choice because his economy stinks," the president told CNBCs "Squawk Box."Still, the president remained optimistic about negotiations after his envoy, Steve Witkoff, traveled to Russia to meet with Putin. "Great progress was made!" Trump promised. "Everyone agrees this war must come to a close, and we will work towards that in the days and weeks to come."The Kremlin has claimed Trump and Putin will soon meet face-to-face for negotiations for the first time in this administration.

Who is Anita Dunn? The Biden confidante who clashed with Hunter grilled in House autopen probe
Anita Dunn is the 10th former Biden administration aide appearing before the House Oversight Committee as the panel investigates whether former President Joe Biden's inner circle covered up evidence of mental decline, and whether decisions were signed off on via autopen without his full awareness.Dunn is a longtime Democratic operative who has run communications for top left-wing figures and causes for decades. She first likely engaged with Biden when serving as communications director for Senate Democrats' campaign arm, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, in the late 1980s.Dunn was a central figure in shaping communications policy during Biden's White House term as well, and she played a key role in helping him prepare for re-election in 2024.RON KLAIN DODGES REPORTERS AFTER MARATHON GRILLING IN BIDEN COVER-UP PROBEHer husband, lawyer Robert Bauer, is also known as a figure close in Biden's orbit having reportedly served as his personal lawyer."If its a room of five people, Anita and Bob are two of them," an unnamed former White House aide told NBC News in January 2023.But her relationship with others in Biden's circle has reportedly been rocky at times, particularly toward the end of his four-year term.NBC News reported in July 2024 that Biden family members discussed whether the president should fire Dunn and Bauer amid fallout from his disastrous debate against now-President Donald Trump, though White House chief of staff Jeff Zients dismissed the reports as "unfounded and insulting rumors" in a statement to the outlet at the time. Her relationship with Hunter Biden in particular, the former president's only living son, has been in the spotlight on multiple occasions.Dunn criticized the president's handling of his son Hunter's pardon during an event in Dec. 2024, saying that she disagreed with the "timing" and the "rationale," describing it as an "attack on our judicial system.""Had this pardon been done at the end of the term in the context of compassion, the way many pardons will be done, I'm sure, and many commutations will be done, I think it would have been a different story," Dunn told a New York Times panel at the DealBook Summit 2024."So, I will say, I absolutely agree with the president's decision here. I do not agree with the way it was done, I don't agree with the timing, and I don't agree, frankly, with the attack on our judicial system."Hunter, meanwhile, recently name-checked Dunn during a tirade against Democratic operatives during a recent interview on YouTube show Channel 5.He said Dunn "made $40 or $50 million" off of work on behalf of the Democratic Party, while going further in criticism of others like David Axelrod and James Carville.Notably, however, Dunn was among those who continued to defend Biden after his debate while criticizing fellow Democrats' reaction to it."It was a bad debate, but it didnt feel catastrophic at all, certainly in terms of voters," Dunn told Politico Magazine in Aug. 2024, noting she was watching the debate at home while monitoring voters' reactions in real time."What did change it was 24 days of unremitting negative, horrible attacks on Joe Biden. . . . From his own party and from the press," Dunn said. She went further in that interview, calling the public criticism of Biden "bullying" while arguing that it was led by the media rather than voters themselves.LONGTIME BIDEN AIDE SAYS HE STOOD TO EARN UP TO $8M HAD PRESIDENT WON RE-ELECTION"[T]he data still didnt support this at all. We were looking at it and we were not seeing huge changes. But we were seeing an environment in the press that was just unremittingly negative. And nobody was covering Trump whatsoever," Dunn said."I went to Wisconsin with [Biden] for an event, and people felt very strongly about the bullying. They didnt like it, and voters didnt like it. They felt that it was unfair and that it was wrong. So you had a lot of different things going on here. You know, clearly there were leaders of the party who decided to go ahead and go very public. And that gave permission to other people to go public."Before joining Biden's 2020 campaign and later his White House as a senior advisor, Dunn was known as a close ally of former President Barack Obama, having aided both his 2008 and 2012 campaigns. Both she and her husband worked in the Obama administration. Dunn served as White House communications director in 2009 and Bauer as White House counsel from 2010 to 2011.Dunn spent time before and after that as a consultant at public affairs firm SKDK, raising questions at the time about her influence with both outside actors and those in Obama's inner circle. The New York Times reported in 2012 that Dunn had visited more than 100 times since leaving her communications job there. That report also had White House officials denying any conflicts of interest on the part of Dunn or the administration. After leaving Biden's White House, Dunn moved on to play a key role in former Vice President Kamala Harris' short-lived 2024 campaign. She's since returned to SKDK as a principal.Fox News Digital's Andrew Mark Miller contributed to this report.

$12K EV that could change everything
Electric vehicles often grab headlines for innovation, but they rarely get credit for affordability. That's where Chinese automaker BYD is flipping the script. The company introduced the Atto 1 at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, and it's turning heads for all the right reasons. Priced at around $12,000, this fully electric hatchback offers modern features, urban-ready performance, and a price tag that could finally bring EVs to the masses.Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy ReportGet my best tech tips, urgent security alerts, and exclusive deals delivered straight to your inbox. Plus, youll get instant access to my Ultimate Scam Survival Guide - free when you join myCYBERGUY.COM/NEWSLETTER.THIS EV HAS A FACE, AND IT TALKS BACK WITH AIThe Atto 1 may fall into the budget category, but it delivers solid specs for city driving. It produces 55 kilowatts, or about 75 horsepower, along with 100 pound-feet of torque. Its top speed is 80 miles per hour, and it accelerates from zero to 30 miles per hour in just under five seconds. These numbers won't blow anyone away at the track, but they hit the sweet spot for daily use.The standard version comes with a 30.08-kilowatt-hour Blade battery, which gives the car a range of up to 186 miles under the NEDC testing cycle. Drivers looking for a bit more distance can opt for the long-range model. That version features a 38.88-kilowatt-hour battery and extends the range to about 236 miles. Even with the larger battery, the car remains affordable at roughly $14,500.Charging the Atto 1 is straightforward. It supports AC charging at speeds up to 6.6 kilowatts. It also accepts DC fast charging, with the base model charging at 30 kilowatts and the extended-range version charging at 40 kilowatts. Each version includes a vehicle-to-load system, so you can power small devices using the car's battery if needed.Despite its price, the Atto 1 delivers more than the bare essentials. It comes equipped with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. You'll also get wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth phone-as-key functionality, and automatic LED headlights. Keyless entry, start, and NFC digital key compatibility add to the convenience, while single-zone air conditioning and four built-in speakers round out the cabin experience.GET FOX BUSINESS ON THE GO BY CLICKING HEREIf you upgrade to the long-range version, you'll notice a few more touches that make daily driving feel smoother. It features a powered driver's seat, wireless charging for your phone, and a steering wheel that adjusts for both height and reach. Even small conveniences, like a one-touch power window with pinch protection, make it feel like a more premium vehicle. In terms of size, the Atto 1 measures just under 156 inches long and about 68 inches wide. That makes it slightly larger than the Mitsubishi Mirage but still smaller than a Toyota Yaris. Unlike either of those gas-powered models, the Atto 1 is fully electric and built with clean transportation in mind. The Atto 1's release comes as major automakers begin ramping up their own EV efforts in Asia. Toyota, which controls roughly 30 percent of the Indonesian car market, has already announced plans to begin producing electric vehicles in the country by the end of 2025. BYD's decision to launch an affordable EV now reflects a different strategy, offering a real, driveable solution that doesn't force buyers to wait years or spend a fortune.WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?For people around the world, access to a private vehicle means independence. Many of those people also want to transition away from internal combustion engines, but cost remains a major barrier. That's where the Atto 1 could make a global impact. It provides a realistic way for people to go electric without breaking their budget or sacrificing comfort. If a car like the Atto 1 enters the U.S. market, it could change the game for everyday drivers. First time buyers, students, and city dwellers looking for a compact, clean, and connected ride might finally have an option that fits both their lifestyle and their wallet. The Atto 1 may not drive itself or hit 200 miles per hour, but it's designed to handle real-world needs with style and reliability.Electric cars won't truly change the world unless they become accessible. That means more than just flashy features or long ranges. It means building EVs that people can actually afford and use every day. BYD's Atto 1 might not dominate the luxury market, but it hits a far more important target, putting electric vehicles within reach for more people, in more places, right now.If you could buy a fully electric car with real tech and solid range for under $13,000, would you take the leap? Civil rights activist challenges mainstream media's racial violence coverage
The mainstream media in America has an alarming "worldview that Black Americans are always innocent victims," according to a prominent author and social commentator.Robert L. Woodson Sr., who is Black and a longtime civil rights activist, penned an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, urging the nation to "disregard race in how we judge one another" before it leads to "national ruin.""When a mob violently attacked two people in downtown Cincinnati last [month], video of the beat-down spread across social media. But not a single major television network covered the story. It didnt fit the mainstream medias narrative about racial violence in America," Woodson wrote."The victims were White, and as of Wednesday police had arrested six Black suspects for their alleged roles in the public pummeling," he continued. "Todays media seems to conflagrate over violence only when the perpetrator is White and the victim is Black. Then the cameras roll, protests erupt, and hashtags fly."THREE MAJOR BROADCAST NETWORKS DIDN'T REPORT ON HEINOUS CINCINNATI BRAWL, REVIEW FINDSThe Media Research Center's NewsBusters analyzed ABCs "Good Morning America" and "World News Tonight," "CBS News Mornings" and "Evening News," and NBCs "Today" and "Nightly News" and found no coverage of the horrific viral brawl in Cincinnatti in the days immediately following the event.Woodson, who has authored multiple books, including "A Pathway to American Renewal: Red, White, and Black," believes that "the mainstream media buries the incident or ignores" violence when the races are reversed and in cases of "Black-on-Black" crime."Consider the tragic case ofAriana Delane, the 4-year-old niece ofGeorge Floyd, who was shot and wounded while sleeping beside her grandmother as gunfire hit their apartment. Despite the horror of her story, it received nowhere near the national attention that followed her uncles death," Woodson wrote. "Both the girl and Floyd deserved to live in peace, yet there is national outrage when a Black man is killed at the hands of police but silence when Black children are the collateral victims of the senseless violence plaguing our cities every day."Woodson added that "journalists mostly ignored" that Blacks were frequent perpetrators during a 2018 spike in violent incidents against Asian-Americans.CINCINNATI MAYORAL CANDIDATE, VP VANCE'S HALF-BROTHER, SLAMS CITY LEADERSHIP AFTER BRUTAL BEATDOWN"The truth would have broken the medias worldview that Black Americans are always innocent victims," he wrote."We teach our children that to be Black is to be permanently victimized and that to be white is to be perpetually guilty," Woodson continued. "Americans should renounce any schema in which one race is guilty and another innocent. That is the path to national ruin."CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREWoodson also founded the Woodson Center, which aims to "empower community-based leaders to promote solutions that reduce crime and violence, restore families, revitalize underserved communities, and assist in the creation of economic enterprise," according to its website.
