My neck, you know, right now I don't have it, but I've been wearing an airport neck pillow because I didn't wanna wear a complete neck brace, so I can try and strengthen the neck muscles," she said. "But I'll be sitting here, I'll be fine and then, all the sudden, my neck muscles stop working. So, I literally have to just walk around and hold my head up."Holly said doctors told her she was lucky to be alive, telling her she "should be dead.""Yeah, they said 25% of the time, people die instantly when they hit their head like that," Holly said, repeating what doctors told her. "And then there's another 25% to 40% chance that I could have, like, gone into a coma and been a vegetable my whole life."FIFTH SUSPECT ARRESTED IN VIRAL CINCINNATI BEATDOWN AS VICTIM DETAILS HER 'ONGOING BATTLE'Police in Cincinnati on Wednesday announced officers have arrested a sixth suspect allegedly linked to the July 26 brawl. 16 in custody after immigration raid at LA Home Depot, DHS says
Department of Homeland Security officials took 16 individuals into custody on Wednesday morning during immigration raids at a Los Angeles Home Depot, territory that federal authorities say is in the grip of the notorious MS-13 gang. The operation happened around 7 a.m. in the MacArthur Park area of Los Angeles. As DHS officials burst onto the scene from the back of Penske trucks, migrants began scattering from the parking lot, according to video from the scene.DHS told Fox News that the violent MS-13 gang has a chokehold on the area, which is why the highly optic immigration raid was carried out at the location. No further details about the 16 detained individuals were immediately provided.6 CRIMINAL ALIENS NABBED IN HOUSTON ICE RAIDS BOAST STARTLING NUMBER OF CONVICTIONSThe raid happened near the site of immigration raids last month that saw Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass come to the scene to ask federal agents to leave."They need to leave, and they need to leave right now. They need to leave because this is unacceptable!" Bass, who has been a vocal opponent of immigration raids in the city, said at the time.FEDERAL AGENTS CONDUCT IMMIGRATION RAID IN LOS ANGELES DESPITE FIERCE OPPOSITION FROM DEMOCRAT MAYORProtesters also showed up in the area last month, with reports of a tire on a federal vehicle being slashed and objects thrown at vehicles. In June, protesters rioted and clashed with authorities for several days amid outrage over immigration raids in the region. Vance heads to red state as redistricting efforts heat up in Texas, nationwide
Vice President JD Vance will head to Indiana Thursday to meet with Indiana Gov. Mike Braun and headline a Republican National Convention event, Fox News Digital learned, and is expected to discuss a broad range of topics with local Republicans, including potential redistricting efforts in the Hoosier State."Vice President Vance will visit Indianapolis on Thursday, where he will be headlining an RNC fundraiser," Vance communications director William Martin told Fox News Digital ahead of the trip. "He will also meet with Governor Braun and other state officials to discuss a variety of issues."Indiana is a Republican stronghold, with the GOP controlling the office of the governor and both chambers of the state legislature. Republicans control seven of the nine House seats, with Republicans floating a redistricting effort that could benefit the party and drive out at least one of the blue seats.Braun told the media Tuesday from the Indiana Statehouse that there have been no commitments made regarding potential redistricting efforts in the state. Other states are in the midst of their own redistricting effort, most notably Texas, which was marred with controversy when dozens of state Democrats fled the state to prevent the quorum needed to vote on new congressional maps.WATCH: TRUMP SAYS FBI 'MAY HAVE TO' HELP TEXAS ROUND UP AWOL DEM LAWMAKERS"Whatever we discuss there, if that topic comes up, is exploratory," he told the media when asked whether he would call a special session to redistrict the state ahead of the 2026 midterms, Politico reported. "So theres been no commitments made other than that.""Folks raising the most Cain about it are the ones that have gerrymandered their own states, where it looks like maybe the tentacles of an octopus," he added. "Well see what happens."Indiana redistricts every 10 years based on new Census data. The Hoosier state previously updated its congressional district lines in 2020.State laws appear murky whether Indiana lawmakers could legal redistrict ahead of scheduling. A 1995 nonbinding opinion from the state attorney general's office could not redistrict mid-cycle, the Indiana Capital Chronicle reported.DEMOCRATS' CHAIR VOWS TO FIGHT 'TOOTH AND NAIL' TO STOP TRUMP, REPUBLICANS, IN REDISTRICTING BATTLEBraun continued in his comments to the media on Tuesday that potentially redistricting outside the 10-year cycle is "not going to be a calm process" if such an effort is endeavored. The Republican Party has launched a broader national effort to keep control of its razor-thin House majority in the midterms, when the party that holds control of the White House typically faces an uphill battle to retain and secure seats.President Donald Trump has encouraged the redistricting, including remarking on Tuesday that efforts to redistrict in Texas could lead to the GOP picking up five seats."In California, its all gerrymandered," Trump said during an interview with CNBC Tuesday. "And we have an opportunity in Texas to pick up five seats. We have a really good governor, and we have good people in Texas. And I won Texas. I got the highest vote in the history of Texas, as you probably know, and we are entitled to five more seats."Dozens of Texas Democrats fled the Lone Star state over the weekend, ahead of Monday, when the Republican-dominated state legislature was set to vote on the new redistricting maps. The Texas House of Representatives cannot proceed with legislative activity without a quorum.A quorum was not reached on Monday or Tuesday.Texas Speaker of the House Dustin Burrows signed arrest warrants for the absent Democrats Monday, following the state House approving of such warrants and Gov. Greg Abbott calling on the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest the "delinquent Texas House Democrats." None of the absent Texas Democrats had been arrested as of Wednesday afternoon. Republican Texas Sen. John Cornyn called on the FBI on Tuesday to investigate "potential CRIMINALacts, including bribery, andto hold legislators accountable who have fled the state in a shameful attempt to stall the legislative process in the Texas House."Democratic governors, such as Illinois' JB Pritzker and New York's Kathy Hochul, have since opened their proverbial doors to the Texas Democrats who fled the Lone Star State."I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that they're welcome here, that they have the ability to stay as long as they need to and want to," Pritzker said on Sunday as the lawmakers left Texas for Illinois.Conservatives and other critics have lambasted the Democrats' political stunt, including arguing the Democratic Party has long leveraged gerrymandering to benefit its party."The idea that Texas Democrats would flee to Illinois, a state where Dems have abused gerrymandering to comical levels, is perfection," Tom Bevan, the RealClearPolitics co-founder and president, wrote on X this week."To protest partisan gerrymandering Texas Democrats are fleeing toIllinois," Republican Missouri Senator Eric Scmitt wrote on X. "You cant make this up."Fox News Digital's Paul Steinhauser, Cameron Cawthorne and Alexandra Koch contributed to this report.

Angels slugger Yoan Moncada misses game to take US citizenship test
The Los Angeles Angels were without one of their better sluggers on Tuesday night, but he had a pretty good reason for the excused absence.Yoan Moncada was on MLB's restricted list on Tuesday, as he was taking his U.S. Citizenship test. The 30-year-old Moncada is from Cuba and signed with the Boston Red Sox as an international free agent for a signing bonus of over $31 million.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMMoncada, aged 19 at the time, promptly became one of the top prospects in all baseball as a switch-hitter. He made his MLB debut roughly a year and a half after signing, at the age of 21.The Sox made a stunning move, though, after the 2016 seaso when they traded Moncada, Michael Kopech, and two others to the Chicago White Sox for Chris Sale, who just wrapped up his season and was a perennial Cy Young Award candidate.Moncada has never quite lived up to the hype, even striking out an MLB-high 217 times in 2018. He did hit .315 with a .915 OPS in 2019, and his 5.1 WAR that season was also a career-best. He posted a 4.1 two years later.RED SOX ANNOUNCER HITS AT ASTROS FOR 'BEING MAD ABOUT STEALING SIGNS' AFTER BENCHES CLEARMoncada spent eight seasons with the White Sox, posting up-and-down numbers throughout his tenure, much like the organization while he was there. In 2021, they won the AL Central, but three years later, they set the modern-era record for the most losses in a season (Moncada played in just 12 games last season). The infielder has maintained his Cuban citizenship, and he played for Team Cuba in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, slashing .435/.519/.739.In his career, Moncada is a .252 hitter with a .756 OPS. This season, he's hitting .221 with a .436 slugging percentage. It's not yet known whether Moncada will be available for the Angels' 4:00 p.m. game against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, but at the very least, he'll head to Detroit this weekend for a three-game set with the Tigers.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Violent attack reignites BOWSER Act debate as Trump floats federal takeover of DC
A Senate Republican renewed his push to federalize Washington, D.C., following an attack on a former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffer and President Donald Trumps threat to put the District under federal control.Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, has long called for control of Washington to fall under Congress, going so far as to introduce the Bringing Oversight to Washington and Safety to Every Resident (BOWSER) Act, named after D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, in an effort to combat crime in the District.REPUBLICAN BILL WOULD PUT 'ANARCHIST JURISDICTIONS' ON NOTICE, THREATEN FEDERAL FUNDINGThe bill, which Lee introduced alongside Rep. Andy Ogles, R-Tenn., has not made it out of committee since being dropped in February. But Trumps highlight of an attack against former DOGE staffer Edward Coristine, also known as "Big Balls," has resurrected the discussion."The Constitution already federalizes D.C.," Lee said on X. "We just need Congress to do its job and reassert its lawmaking power over our nations capital city. My bill, the BOWSER Act, would do that."Fox News Digital reached out to Lee for further comment.SENATE REPUBLICANS LAUNCH CRACKDOWN ON DC PERMITTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, NONCITIZENS TO VOTE IN ELECTIONSLees bill would effectively repeal the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, a law passed in the 1970s that established a city council and mayor and reduced the amount of oversight that Congress has over the city and its affairs. But calls have grown by lawmakers over the years to increase Congress oversight of the city, largely centered on concerns over increased crime and criticisms of attempts to rewrite the Districts criminal code. And Trump jumped into the discourse, too, threatening that if "D.C. doesnt get its act together, and quickly, we will have no choice but to take Federal control of the City.""Perhaps it should have been done a long time ago, then this incredible young man, and so many others, would not have had to go through the horrors of Violent Crime," Trump said on his social media platform, Truth Social. "If this continues, I am going to exert my powers, and FEDERALIZE this City."Fox News reached out to Bowsers office for comment but did not immediately hear back.'SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREPARED': GOP SENATORS FIGHT FOR UNIFIED MESSAGE ON TRUMP'S 'BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL'Zack Smith, a senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation and a former prosecutor, told Fox News Digital that in the past, the D.C. council has pushed "policies that have made it much more difficult for law enforcement, for prosecutors, to do their jobs and keep citizens safe."Bowser and the D.C. Council have, for several years, worked to update the Districts criminal code. However, changes to the code that would have severely lowered sentencing for a variety of crimes that were at first vetoed by Bowser were on the precipice of becoming law before Congress and former President Joe Biden overrode the reforms.Smith noted that Congress still has the authority to legislate the District, meaning that lawmakers and the federal government are "still the backstop," and that both Trump and Lee were right to call for a "reevaluation of the Districts status.""That's why Congress was able to step in and overturn that proposed radical rewrite of the Criminal Code," he said. "And so what the BOWSER Act would actually do, if it repeals home rule, it would essentially change the way the local D.C. government functions. It might involve Congress and the Federal Government taking a more direct role.""I think there is broad and in some ways bipartisan consensus that the current system in D.C. is not working as it should," he continued.

The leading mayoral candidate for New York City, Zohran Mamdani, is spending big on private security for his campaign and personal life despite previous calls to defund the police. The campaign for Mamdani, who is the Democratic candidate for New York mayor and a self-identified member of the Democratic Socialists of America, has spent $33,495 on private security, according to expenditures reviewed by Fox News Digital.Expenses reported in the New York City Campaign Finance Board show that Mamdanis campaign submitted three payments to Advanced Security & Investigations in June and July.Advanced Security & Investigations, a New York state-based security professionals group, offers a range of services, including armed and unarmed protective services.NYC MAYOR FLIPS SCRIPT ON MAMDANI AMID SCRAMBLE TO WALK BACK ANTI-POLICE RHETORICAccording to the companys website, it is also a "proud employer" of personnel from the New York Police Department, which Mamdani previously called to defund, as well as the New York State Police, New York City Sheriffs Office and several other law enforcement departments in the area. The purpose listed for the various payments, which ranged from about $8,000 to around $13,000, is "security."Mamdani has also recently made headlines for leaving New York City to throw a lavish wedding celebration in Uganda, which was reportedly guarded by armed special Ugandan military forces as well as his own private security detail. The three-day-long exclusive wedding bash in Uganda also included masked military security and a cellphone-jamming system.KRISTI NOEM REBUKES NYC MAYORAL CANDIDATE ZOHRAN MAMDANI OVER ICE 'ABDUCTION' CLAIMSMamdani has been facing intense backlash for his previous calls to defund the NYPD following a deadly shooting in midtown Manhattan last month that left five individuals, including the suspect and NYPD Officer Didarul Islam, dead.On June 28, 2020, Mamdani posted on social media, "We dont need an investigation to know that the NYPD is racist, antiqueer & a major threat to public safety. What we need is to #DefundTheNYPD. But your compromise uses budget tricks to keep as many cops as possible on the beat. NO to fake cuts defundthepolice.""We need a socialist city council to defund the police," he wrote again on July 3, 2020.Again, in December 2020, Mamdani wrote, the New York City Council "tried to make the NYPD reduce its overtime budget by half. They simply refused. There is no negotiating with an institution this wicked & corrupt. Defund it. Dismantle it. End the cycle of violence."MAMDANI'S PAST 'VISCERAL DISDAIN' FOR POLICE 'SCARES A LOT OF NEW YORKERS' FOR GOOD REASON: NYC CRIME EXPERTHowever, Mamdani has taken a very different tone during his campaign, saying this week that those tweets are "out of step with my positions as a candidate."After the shooting, he told reporters during a press conference, "I am not running to defund the police."However, he has not disavowed a more recent social media post from December 2024 in which he pledged to disband the NYPDs Strategic Response Group (SRG), which is tasked with responding to mass shootings and other emergencies.REPLACE COPS WITH SOCIAL WORKERS, 'TRANSIT AMBASSADORS' ON SOME 911 CALLS: MAMDANIHe wrote, "As Mayor, I will disband the SRG, which has cost taxpayers millions in lawsuit settlements and brutalized countless New Yorkers exercising their First Amendment rights."Fox News Digital reached out to the Mamdani campaign for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

CBS host frets Trump admin plans for moon base could usher in new 'age of colonialism' in space
CBS News hostVladimir Duthiers questioned the Trump administration's plan to establish a base on the moon and drew parallels to Earth's history of colonialism. On "CBS Mornings Plus" on Wednesday, Duthiers and co-hostAdriana Diaz discussed the White House calling for more human space exploration and administration plans to build a nuclear reactor on the moon to precede an eventual U.S. lunar base with astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.Diaz asked if it was "inevitable that were going to have to go to the moon and try to colonize the Moon?"Tyson said that the United States is being "reactive" in a race to the moon with China, and stated, to the laughter of the panel, that he does not want to "live on the moon."TRUMP PUSHING FOR NUCLEAR REACTOR ON THE MOONBut Duthiers questioned if colonizing the moon was a good idea."We know how the age of colonialism worked on this planet,"the host said. "Should we be trying to colonize and saying that theres a keep-out zone that no other countries can participate in having?"Tyson replied by pointing out that it would be difficult to colonize an area that does not have people."Well, the the real problem with the colonization history in Western civilization is that there were people already there," Tyson said.Duthiers and Diaz agreed, and Tyson added that "there are no moon beings that were displaced as far as we know."SEN. TIM SCOTT: THE SECRET BEHIND APOLLO 8'S BROADCAST IS A FAVORITE STORY OF CHRISTIAN COURAGECLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURETyson later criticized administration plans to decrease funding to NASA."What's not on brand is to cut science programs, not only in NASA, but across the board, and then say, we want to excel in this one spot,"Tyson said."Well, in the 1960s, science was a major investment profile of the United States," he continued. "And by the way, it's not on brand even for Republicans, because Republican administrations since the Second World War have had a higher annual increase, average annual increase, in the science budget than even the Democrats.""So Trump's decision to cut science is not on brand for even beinga Republican," Tyson added.
