WWW.FOXNEWS.COMICE raid tipoffs from Dem lawmaker could mean charges, says DHS rep: 'Looks like obstruction'A Democratic state lawmaker tipping off ICE operations in her community could be hit with obstruction-of-justice charges, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security told Fox News Digital. After Democratic Arizona state Senator Analise Ortiz admitted on social media to alerting her community about ICE movements, DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin claimed in a statement to Fox News Digital that the lawmaker is choosing illegal criminals over American citizens."Arizona state Senator Analise Ortiz is siding with vicious cartels, human traffickers, and violent criminals over American citizens," said McLaughlin."Notifying the public about ICE law enforcement operations endangers law enforcement and weakens American national security," she went on.16 IN CUSTODY AFTER IMMIGRATION RAID AT LA HOME DEPOT, DHS SAYSIn response to Fox News Digitals question about whether Ortiz could face charges, McLaughlin answered, "This certainly looks like obstruction of justice."She pointed to DHS statistics that ICE officers are currently facing an 830 percent increase in assaults."The men and women of ICE put their lives on the line every day to arrest violent criminal illegal aliens to protect and defend the lives of American citizens," said McLaughlin. "Make no mistake, sanctuary politicians like Arizona Senator Analise Ortiz are contributing to the surge in assaults of our ICE officers through their repeated vilification and demonization of ICE."This comes after popular conservative social media page "Libs of TikTok" blasted Ortiz for posting alerts on her account giving updates on ICE operations in the area. Libs of TikTok posted a screenshot, indicating it belonged to Ortiz, that warned in English and Spanish, "ICE is present." The post also gave the location of the federal officials whereabouts.VENEZUELAN SUSPECT 'SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN IN THE UNITED STATES,' POLICE CHIEF SAYS AFTER DEADLY SHOOTINGLibs of TikTok wrote, "Arizona State Senator Analise Ortiz (D) is actively impeding and doxxing ICE by posting their live locations on instagram." The account urged Border Czar Tom Homan, the DHS and ICE to file charges against Ortiz. In response, Ortiz admitted to alerting her community about ICE activity, saying, "Yep. When ICE is around, I will alert my community to stay out of the area."Seemingly in response to the Libs of TikToks call for charges against her, Ortiz also wrote, "Im not f*****g scared of you nor Trumps masked goons."After the comment, Arizona Senate Warren Petersen, a Republican, issued a statement reprimanding Ortiz: "Public servants have a duty to uphold the law and respect those who enforce it, not undermine them."US CRIME DROPPED WIDELY IN 2024, FBI SAYS WITH SOME NOTABLE CAVEATSPetersen said he had referred the matter to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona for investigation "as it appears she may be in violation of federal law."Ortiz has remained defiant, writing in an X post, "I will not be intimidated. I will alert our community to avoid the area when Trumps masked thugs terrorize us all, regardless of citizenship. Trump doesnt respect our laws nor our constitution. My duty is to keep people safe from his unconstitutional and authoritarian actions."0 Comments 0 Shares 8 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMCowboys' Jerry Jones not confident Micah Parsons will play Week 1 after trade requestDallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said he does not know if star pass rusher Micah Parsons will play in Week 1.The Cowboys begin their season Sept. 4 against the division rival and defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. This week, Jones was asked if he was confident Parsons would be a part of that lineup.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"No, absolutely not," Jones told reporters after the teams joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams Tuesday. "A big part of that is his decision. How would I know that? No, but I'm urgent."Jones said that he has not spoken to Parsons since the star made a trade request, but Jones said that stays "urgent." Jones has remained steadfast in his praise of Parsons after his trade request."I think the world of Micah," Jones said. "Like I've said, I've had social time with Micah, which isn't always the case, but I have. He's one of the brightest people I've ever been around, and he's very, very talented. Now, how we ultimately (mix) him in with our future is a challenge, and I'm built for it, he's built for it."Parsons has still attended practice and attended meetings while the contract talks continue to stall.49ERS' GEORGE KITTLE JOKES HE 'CONSIDERED RETIREMENT' AFTER NFL MEMO BANS SUBSTANCE HE USES FOR GAMEDAY BOOSTThe four-time Pro Bowler announced his trade request on social media Friday, and Parsons cited "radio silence" from the Cowboys regarding a contract extension in both this and last offseason. In Parsons post to social media, he said he did everything he could to show he wanted to stay with the Cowboys."Yes I wanted to be here. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTexas residents say there should be consequences for Dems fleeing state to avoid voteTexas residents slammed Democratic state lawmakers who fled the state to avoid a vote this week, speaking out during interviews with Fox News Digital.Houston locals voiced strong opposition to the decision by Democratic lawmakers to leave Texas earlier this week, a move intended to block a vote on the GOPs proposed congressional district map. Many residents condemned the tactic."There should be consequences on both sides. It's happened both ways. And I feel like if you're, you know, elected, and you're holding a seat, and you're supposed to represent the people, I don't care which side of the aisle you're on. You show up every time you do it," James said."It's your job," he added.TRUMP, REPUBLICANS RACE TO REDRAW TEXAS CONGRESSIONAL MAP AS DEMOCRATS THREATEN LEGAL WARDozens of Democratic Texas state lawmakers fled the state this week to avoid a vote on Republicans' new proposed congressional district map, which would potentially secure five new GOP U.S. House seats in the 2026 midterm elections. They claim the redistricting which is backed by President Donald Trump will disenfranchise minority voters. The lawmakers intended their absence to block the quorum necessary to conduct a vote on the map. According to Texas House rules, at least 100 of the 150 members must be present to conduct business in the state legislature. Many of the Democrats traveled to Illinois, where they were invited by the state's Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker."I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that they're welcome here, that they have the ability to stay as long as they need to and want to," Pritzker said on Sunday.Calvin, a Houston resident originally from Seattle, told Fox, "If these were regular jobs, people would probably be in a lot more trouble for this."He added, "I do think in general it's a problem that people are not showing up to general votes. I've heard stories where there's a lot of people not present during votes for bills, and it's only like 20% or less. So, I think that's kind of weird. Like, if I didn't show up for a meeting, I'd probably be in trouble."Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott threatened to arrest Democratic lawmakers who didnt return for Mondays vote and expel them from office. He wrote in a statement Sunday, "This truancy ends now. The derelict Democrat House members must return to Texas and be in attendance when the House reconvenes at 3:00 PM on Monday, August 4, 2025. For any member who fails to do so, I will invoke Texas Attorney General Opinion No. KP-0382 to remove the missing Democrats from membership in the Texas House."TEXAS DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS PREPARING TO FLEE RED STATE TO BLUNT GOP CONGRESSIONAL REDISTRICTING PUSHGOP Texas Speaker of the House Dustin Burrows announced this week he would sign arrest warrants against any absent Democratic lawmakers if authorized by a vote of the chamber. Abbott then called on the Texas Department of Public Safety to arrest the "delinquent Texas House Democrats."Glenn said he doesnt agree with putting the lawmakers behind bars, but said there should be some penalty for their actions."I don't think that they should be, you know, going to jail or anything like that, but maybe they need to do something to get the Democrats and the Republicans to work together on this. This is very important, but no I don't think they should be reprimanded that bad, but you know, maybe taken off the seats."James agreed: "If it applies to everybody, I think there should be repercussions. Arrests seem a little bit harsh, but you know, depends on the situation, I guess."Calvin said he believes arrest warrants "would be justified," noting its not likely that actual arrests would occur."Itd be kinda more like a threat to get them back to voting on the redistricting," he said.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREWhen asked if the walkouts represented a threat to democracy, Hannah expressed skepticism that the public cares."I feel like there's a lot of people that just honestly like [the] average citizen that wouldn't even care about this, because a lot of people just don't go out and vote themselves."James felt differently, saying the move was "absolutely" a threat to democracy.A man named Ian told Fox, "I don't think it's a good way to deal with the problem. They need to improve their message and do better in elections so that they're not in the minority. As long as they're in the minority, one of the problems that they have is that they may not get their way."When asked if he thinks its a threat to democracy, Glenn replied, "I do. I think that's not right."0 Comments 0 Shares 11 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMPlastic water bottle left in a hot car? Think twice before sipping from itIt's the height of summer, and for many Americans, that means scorching cars and forgotten plastic water bottles rolling around under the seats. But before you take a sip out of one of those, you might want to think twice, experts say.High temperatures and prolonged sun exposure can create conditions that lead to both chemical leaching from plastic bottles and bacterial growth, especially if the bottle has already been opened. Experts warn this dual threat could pose a risk to your health.5 EVERYDAY FOOD AND DRINKS SILENTLY DAMAGING YOUR LONG-TERM HEALTH, SAY NUTRITION EXPERTS"The combination of microbial growth and chemical leaching from the plastic makes it a double-edged sword," said Dr. Paul Savage, a toxin expert and chief medical officer at MDLifespan in Chicago. Many single-use plastic water bottles are made from a type of plastic called polyethylene terephthalate (PET).When PET-containing bottles sit in the heat, the polymer chains in the plastic can start to break down and cause the release of various chemicals, including trace amounts of phenol, like bisphenol A (BPA) and phthalates, into the water."Phenols and phthalates are endocrine disruptors, meaning they interfere with the natural hormones in our body," said Nicole Deziel, an environmental epidemiologist at the Yale School of Public Health.Although the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that the current levels of BPA and phthalates used in food packaging are safe, many of these substances have already been banned or voluntarily phased out.Plastics can start leaching chemicals when temperatures reach 85 degrees. And the process accelerates significantly at higher temperatures, especially above 100 degrees, Savage said.'HYDRATION BOOSTERS' OR JUST WATER? EXPERTS MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BEATING SUMMER HEATEven BPA-free bottles may not be a safer alternative. Many of these products use chemical substitutes that, according to Savage, are structurally similar to BPA and may have similar endocrine-disrupting effects. These alternatives haven't been studied extensively, leaving scientists cautious.Another growing concern is the presence of microplastics tiny plastic particles that can shed from the bottle over time, especially under heat.Studies in animals have linked microplastic exposure to inflammation, cellular stress and hormonal disruption, though the full impact on human health remains unclear.Plastic bottles reused after opening especially those left in warm environments can also become a breeding ground for bacteria, including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus (staph infection), introduced from the mouth, hands or air.For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyle"While many of these bacteria are harmless in small amounts, heat can amplify their growth, potentially leading to harmful levels that cause gastrointestinal issues or infections," Savage told Fox News Digital.Bacteria can thrive in microscopic grooves and scratches in plastic bottles, Savage said.Studies have found that bacteria can grow in open bottles within 48 hours, even at room temperature. Some concerns about heated plastic bottles have been exaggerated or misunderstood. For example, claims that dioxins known carcinogens are released when plastic bottles are left in hot cars have been debunked by scientists.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTERThese rumors trace back in part to a viral 2006 email attributed to musician Sheryl Crow, a breast cancer survivor, who warned about cancer-causing chemicals from heated bottles. However, experts affirm that PET does not contain or produce dioxins. To reduce exposure to potentially harmful chemicals and microbes, experts recommend avoiding the reuse of single-use plastic water bottles especially in hot environments."Glass and stainless steel can withstand repeated heat and sun exposure," said Bryan Quoc Le, a California food scientist and author of the book "150 Food Science Questions Answered."While bacteria can also grow in reusable containers, glass and stainless steel bottles are easier to clean thoroughly and can withstand high-temperature washing "which can reduce microbial growth," Le added.0 Comments 0 Shares 11 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMDOJ turns to Gabbard's office for next step in grand jury probe of alleged Russiagate conspiracyThe Department of Justice made a sweeping request to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence this week for more information about allegations of a 2016 conspiracy to tie President Donald Trump to Russia, marking the next step in the departments grand jury inquiry into the matter.A DOJ prosecutor asked the ODNI for a range of documents to supplement Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbards recent request to the DOJ to investigate Obama administration officials over the alleged conspiracy. The Federalist first reported on the prosecutors request. A source familiar with the request confirmed the veracity of the report to Fox News Digital. The prosecutor requested in a letter to the ODNI a dozen categories of items, including any nonpublic material Gabbard had pertaining to the tranche of declassified documents she made public in July.DOJ LAUNCHING GRAND JURY INQUIRY INTO RUSSIAGATE CONSPIRACY ALLEGATIONSGabbard also revealed Tuesday night on the Ingraham Angle that she had met that day with the DOJ prosecutors involved in the grand jury inquiry. Gabbard said they "have more questions, and theyre going to be really taking a deep dive into this again.""They are committed to leaving no stone unturned as they conduct this grand jury investigation and find the truth," Gabbard said. The revelation that a meeting had occurred and that a DOJ official leading the grand jury inquiry is seeking records from the ODNI signals that the probe is underway and in an information-gathering phase.WHITE HOUSE SENDS MIXED SIGNALS IN RUSSIA HOAX BLAME GAMEGrand jury investigations are conducted in secret and can take days, weeks or longer to conclude. Prosecutors present the grand jury with evidence, and the panelists on the jury are tasked with deciding whether probable cause exists to charge someone with a crime. Obtaining an indictment against a person through a grand jury is generally much easier than the subsequent process of securing a conviction against them.Fox News Digital first reported on the existence of a grand jury investigation related to Gabbard's intelligence on Monday, but it remains unclear whom is being targeted in the investigation or what criminal charges could be on the table and still within the statutes of limitations.Gabbard has alleged that newly declassified evidence shows that President Barack Obama and his national security officials, including John Brennan, James Comey and James Clapper, had forgone typical protocols to compile a faulty intelligence product after President Donald Trump won the election in 2016 that undermined his election win.Gabbard alleged that the intelligence laid the "groundwork" for the Trump-Russia narrative that loomed over much of the president's first administration. Trump's first presidency was dominated by two-year-long special counsel inquiries surrounding Russia's involvement in the 2016 election, but neither special counsel identified a conspiracy among Obama officials like the one Gabbard has now alleged. The DOJ official's letter to ODNI this week also included a request for information about any intelligence community investigations into media leaks, signaling that those could also be part of the grand jury probe. Gabbard has claimed the media obtained information through the Obama administration that helped to falsely attribute Trump's win to Russian interference in the election in the eyes of the public.Obama recently rejected Gabbard's allegations through a spokesperson in a rare statement."Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response," the statement said. "But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction."0 Comments 0 Shares 27 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMNew Romanian law may have averted NATO clash with Russia after border strikesRussia narrowly avoided an armed skirmish with Romania, a member of the NATO alliance, after striking just a half mile from its border.Romanian defense officials believe the new law passed by parliament explicitly allowing its armed forces to shoot down Russian drones that fly over its territory prevented the Kremlin from incurring on its territory.Russia struck a gas distribution center in the Ismail Area of Ukraine with Shahed kamikaze drones on Tuesday and Wednesday, so close to Romanias border that Bucharest deployed F-16 aircraft to monitor. No unauthorized intrusions were reported."They know we passed this law, and in the last two months they have avoided crossing into our airspace," one Romanian defense source told Fox News Digital.NATO JETS SCRAMBLED AMID RUSSIA'S LARGEST DRONE ATTACK ON UKRAINEIlie Bolojan, Romania's then-acting president, signed the law, which Romanian parliament had passed in February in response to Russian drones spilling over into its territory during attacks on Ukraine. The law specifies that Romanian authorities must establish the drones position and identity, attempt contact, intercept and fire warning shots, before neutralizing it.Piloted vehicles can only be destroyed if they conduct an attack or respond aggressively.Romania shares a 380-mile-wide border with Ukraine, though at this time there is no evidence Moscow has deliberately targeted its territory.Ukraine typically receives gas through the Orlovka gas distribution center in Izmail from Greece, Turkey and Romania.RUSSIA LAUNCHED ITS LARGEST AERIAL ATTACK OF THE WAR, UKRAINE SAYSIf Russia had incurred into Romanian territory and Romania responded by shooting down its drones, a tit-for-tat escalation risks drawing a NATO member state directly into the war.NATO allies agree to Article 5, a collective defense pact that states each would come to the aid of the other in the case of an attack.Earlier this week, drones believed to originate in Belarus, a client state of Russia, landed in Lithuanian territory.Other eastern European states have enacted new laws to fortify their borders from the threat of Russia: Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania pulled out of an international treaty banning the use of landmines over humanitarian concerns earlier this year.Lithuania this week asked NATO to help strengthen its air defenses after a Russian drone carrying explosives entered its territory."This is not just Lithuanian airspace, not just Lithuanias security it is NATO airspace, NATO security and also EU security,"foreign ministerKstutis Budrys said.0 Comments 0 Shares 30 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMCuomo flips script on Mamdani for owning property in Uganda despite its anti-LGBT laws: 'Silence is violence'The race for New York City mayor intensified this week when former Gov.Andrew Cuomo, running as an independent, called out socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani for owning property in Uganda despite the countrys anti-LGBT policies."The no-show assemblyman missed this interview while vacationing at his parents compound in Uganda, a country that murders LGBTQIA+ people," Cuomoposted on X Tuesday."Silence is violence. Meanwhile, the cost of living crisis confronting working class people across the city hits the LGBTQIA+ community particularly hard, with higher rates of unemployment and homelessness than the rest of the city."The Mamdani administration will protect LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers by expanding and protecting gender-affirming care citywide, making NYC an LGBTQIA+ sanctuary city, and creating the Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs."0 Comments 0 Shares 11 Views 0 Reviews
