WWW.FOXNEWS.COMBondi DOJ names and shames 35 sanctuary jurisdictions that put American citizens at riskFIRST ON FOX: The Department of Justice identified nearly three dozen cities and states across the country on Tuesday that it said were sanctuaries for illegal immigrants and warned that it planned to take legal action against more of those jurisdictions.Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement the cities and states, which mostly lean blue, have immigration policies that "impede law enforcement and put American citizens at risk by design.""The Department of Justice will continue bringing litigation against sanctuary jurisdictions and work closely with the Department of Homeland Security to eradicate these harmful policies around the country," Bondi said.FEDERAL JUDGE TOSSES TRUMP DOJ LAWSUIT AGAINST SANCTUARY POLICIES IN CHICAGOFour of the 13 states, California, New York, Colorado and Illinois, on the DOJs list have already faced lawsuits over their immigration policies. Others on the list include Delaware, Nevada, Minnesota and Washington, D.C.The lawsuit in Illinois is the farthest along in the court process and has not played out in DOJs favor at this stage. A federal judge tossed out the DOJs claims, saying Illinois state and local policies were protected by the Constitution and that the DOJs lawsuit encroached on Illinois sovereignty. The DOJ could still appeal the decision or amend its complaint. But the DOJ, which has shifted heavily during the Trump administration to focusing on immigration enforcement, has also seen some success.LOUISVILLE MAYOR SHIFTS DOJ POLICY AFTER LEGAL THREAT FROM DOJIts threats to Louisville, Kentucky, resulted in the mayor there modifying the citys policy to be more cooperative with the federal government. A DOJ spokesman said the purpose of the list was to encourage other states and cities to do the same."This is a chance for these jurisdictions to come to the table and work with us to keep Americans safe," a DOJ spokesperson said.Other cities on the DOJ's radar include Boston, New Orleans, Seattle and Philadelphia. Four counties were also on the list.A common reason that cities and states become targeted for being illegal immigrant sanctuaries involves detainer policies.Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) uses detainers to make federal requests to jails to hold immigrants in custody who could be living in the country illegally so that ICE can arrest them. Sanctuary jurisdictions have policies in place to ignore those notices. In the case of Louisville, for instance, the mayor has agreed to honor the 48-hour period ICE has been requesting to hold suspects so that they are not released before federal authorities can potentially arrest them.0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 10 Views 0 Προεπισκόπηση

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMRussia drops missile deployment moratorium amid tensions with Trump adminFormer Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that NATO is to blame for Moscow's decision to withdraw from a longstanding moratorium on missile deployment.Russia's foreign ministry announced earlier this week that it would no longer be bound by the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty. The U.S. had withdrawn from the treaty in 2019, but Russian officials had said they would avoid deploying short- and medium-range nuclear missiles so long as the U.S. did the same."The Russian Foreign Ministry's statement on the withdrawal of the moratorium on the deployment of medium- and short-range missiles is the result of NATO countries' anti-Russian policy," Medvedev posted Sunday on X."This is a new reality all our opponents will have to reckon with. Expect further steps," he added.MEDVEDEV WARNS TRUMP'S NEW DEADLINE TO END RUSSIA-UKRAINE CONFLICT IS A STEP TOWARDS WARForeign Minister Sergei Lavrov had initially floated dropping the moratorium in December, citing alleged "destabilizing actions" by the U.S. and NATO."Since the situation is developing towards the actual deployment of U.S.-made land-based medium- and short-range missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, the Russian Foreign Ministry notes that the conditions for maintaining a unilateral moratorium on the deployment of similar weapons have disappeared," the ministry said in a statement at the time. The INF treaty, signed in 1987 by President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev, eliminated an entire class of weapons ground-launched missiles with a range of 500 to 5,500 kilometers.Medvedev's latest comments come amid an ongoing back-and-forth with President Donald Trump. The former Russian president had goaded Trump in a series of posts on X, claiming the U.S. was moving toward "war" with Moscow.TRUMP BRUSHES BACK RUSSIA'S MEDVEDEV AFTER 'WAR' WARNING: 'WATCH HIS WORDS'In response, Trump announced that the U.S. was redeploying two nuclear submarines to "appropriate regions" closer to Moscow. The Kremlin released a statement downplaying Medvedev's comments soon afterward."We approach any statements related to nuclear issues with great caution,"Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said. "As you know, Russia holds a responsible position. President Putins stance is well known.""Russia takes the issue of nuclear non-proliferation very seriously," he added. "And, of course, we believe that everyone should be extremely careful when it comes to nuclear rhetoric."Reuters contributed to this report0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 10 Views 0 Προεπισκόπηση

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMComer subpoenas the Clintons, Trump's DOJ in House Oversight's Epstein probeFIRST ON FOX: The House Oversight Committee has subpoenaed former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for testimony regarding Jeffrey Epstein, Fox News Digital has learned.Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., sent a flurry of subpoenas related to Epstein on Tuesday morning, with the Clintons being just two of the people that House investigators are looking to hear from.Comer also sent a subpoena to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for records related to Epstein's case.Others who are being compelled to appear are former FBI directors James Comey and Robert Mueller, as well as ex-Attorneys General Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, William Barr, Jeff Sessions, and Alberto Gonzales.LONGTIME BIDEN AIDE SAYS HE STOOD TO EARN UP TO $8M HAD PRESIDENT WON RE-ELECTIONA House Oversight Committee subcommittee panel voted to subpoena each of the individuals, as well as the DOJ, in two respective votes last month during an unrelated hearing. It comes after Comer followed through on an earlier full committee vote to subpoena Ghislaine Maxwell, a close former Epstein associate who was sentenced to 20 years in prison "for her role in a scheme to sexually exploit and abuse multiple minor girls with Jeffrey Epstein over the course of a decade," according to a press release by the Southern District of New York.Comer has agreed to delay Maxwell's deposition until after the Supreme Court heard her petition to overturn the conviction, however.COMER DISMISSES BIDEN DOCTOR'S BID FOR PAUSE IN COVER-UP PROBE: 'THROWING OUT EVERY EXCUSE'The committee is giving the DOJ until Aug. 19 to turn in records related to Epstein's case, Fox News Digital has learnedHillary Clinton is being compelled to appear on Oct. 9, and Bill Clinton on Oct. 14, according to letters sent to both of them, respectively.Barr and Sessions, who both served as attorneys general during Trump's first term, were subpoenaed to appear Aug. 18 and Aug. 28, respectively.Obama-era attorneys general Lynch and Holder are being compelled to appear on Sept. 19 and Sept. 30.Former Biden attorney general Garland's deposition date is scheduled for Oct. 2, Mueller is scheduled for Sept. 2, and Comey is scheduled for Oct. 7.Gonzales, who served as attorney general under former President George W. Bush, is being compelled to appear Aug. 26.It's not immediately clear how much information the subpoenas will yield, or if those subpoenaed will cooperate with the House Oversight Committee at all.The late pedophile Epstein committed suicide in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on federal sex trafficking charges. The GOP base has fractured over the current administration's handling of the case, however.FAR-LEFT FIREBRAND SAYS SHE 'NEVER HAD A CONCERN' ABOUT BIDEN'S MENTAL STATE AS HOUSE PROBE HEATS UPThe divisions stem from a DOJ memo released in July that said, "This systematic review revealed no incriminating client list. There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions. We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties."Far-right figures like Steve Bannon and Laura Loomer have accused the DOJ of mishandling something that's long been seen as a priority for Trump's base.President Donald Trump has stood by Attorney General Pam Bondi, however, and has directed her to release any "credible" evidence related to Epstein in a bid to quell the infighting.Bondi then had deputy attorney general Todd Blanche travel down to the Florida prison where Maxwell was kept until recently for a sit-down with her and her lawyer. The DOJ has also pushed for the release of grand jury testimony related to Epstein and Maxwell's cases.Democrats, meanwhile, have seized on the discord with their own newfound calls for transparency related to Epstein's case prompting accusations of hypocrisy from the right."Democrats have now seized on this as if they ever wanted transparency when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein, which is an asinine suggestion for any Democrat to make. The Democrats had control of this building, the White House, for four years, and they didn't do a dang thing when it came to transparency in regards to Jeffrey Epstein and his heinous crimes," White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said last month."It was this president who directed the Department of Justice and the attorney general to do an exhaustive review of all files related to Jeffrey Epstein, which they did."0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 23 Views 0 Προεπισκόπηση

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMVoter ID law in Texas wins at appeals court after Biden admin lawsuitTexas scored a victory on Monday when a federal appeals court upheld a state law requiring voters using mail-in ballots to include a state ID number or partial Social Security number.A three-judge panel reversed a district courts decision, saying unanimously that the law did not violate the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as some critics claimed, because it is material to confirm voter eligibility, as required under the statute.SECOND FEDERAL JUDGE SIDES AGAINST TRUMP'S ELECTION EXECUTIVE ORDERJudge James Ho began the unanimous opinion with a blunt statement, "Mail-in ballots are not secure," citing Veasey v. Perry, which later became Veasey v. Abbott. The case, later known as Veasey v. Abbott on appeal, involved Texass voter ID law and included findings confirmed by the Fifth Circuit that "mail-in ballot fraud is a significant threat."READ THE COURT RULING APP USERS, CLICK HERE:"The ID number requirement is obviously designed to confirm that each mail-in ballot voter is precisely who he claims he is. And that is plainly material to determining whether such individual is qualified under State law to vote," Judge James Ho wrote in the opinion.Ho and the other judges on the panel aligned with their colleagues on the Third Circuit, which held that "the materiality provision applies only to voter qualification determination." He said the Third Circuit's analysis was "persuasive."DOJ SUES NORTH CAROLINA OVER VOTER ROLLSAdditionally, Ho notes that while the plaintiffs argue that "there isnt enough evidence to show the ID number requirement would meaningfully reduce voter fraud," the state disagrees on the matter."Our precedents compel us to side with Texas. We have made clear that states have a legitimate interest in combating voter fraud, and thus enjoy considerable discretion in deciding what is an adequate level of effectiveness to serve [their] important interests in voter integrity," Ho wrote in the opinion. The Fifth Circuit the same court that ruled in favor of Texas has allowed for the tightening of voter rules in the past. Recently, judges with the Fifth Circuit ruled that mail-in ballots must arrive by Election Day to be counted, Politico reported.Texas Election Integrity Protection Act of 2021 was signed in September of that year, following the 2020 presidential election. At the time, several Republican states began cracking down on voter identification. Additionally, according to the Texas Tribune, the law limited local control of elections by prohibiting counties from offering expanded voting options.Fox News Digital has reached out to the office of Texas Gov. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMFox News gets inside look at Gaza humanitarian situation as Israel weighs next stepsAs the world discusses the reality of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Fox News' Bill Hemmer got a look inside a distribution site operated by the controversial U.S.- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).Fox News was the first outlet to witness a newly established distribution center operated mostly by former U.S. forces who coordinate with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Hemmer said that the sites are not without their problems or controversy, but that the Americans working with GHF are proud of what they have accomplished. In terms of the status of Gaza, Hemmer said that Rafah was clearly decimated by the IDF. The southern Gazan city is where Israel believes Hamas had its headquarters and where the terror group held hostages taken nearly two years ago, on Oct. 7, 2023.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appears to be considering a full occupation of Gaza. If Israel makes this move, it would be a complete reversal of its policy dating back to 2005 when it pulled out of the enclave. Hostages' loved ones have expressed opposition to the plan out of fear that it would put those still held captive in even more danger.Palestinians who spoke with Hemmer said they were hungry, and tired of the war and of Hamas.HAMAS LOSING IRON GRIP ON GAZA AS US-BACKED GROUP GETS AID TO PALESTINIANS IN NEEDHemmers visit comes as the organization faces international condemnation and a call from the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for its "immediate dismantling.""Palestinians are paying the ultimate price of the international communitys legal, political and moral failure," a UNHRC statement read, citing the opinions of several U.N. experts. One such expert named in the statement is Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, who has been repeatedly condemned by multiple governments, including the U.S., the U.K. and France, for making antisemitic statements.Albanese and the other experts also say that GHF is "an utterly disturbing example of how humanitarian relief can be exploited for covert military and geopolitical agendas in serious breach of international law."GAZA HUMANITARIAN FOUNDATION: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT THE US-BACKED AID GROUPU.N. experts also claimed that Israeli forces and foreign military contractors indiscriminately fire at Palestinians seeking aid at GHF sites. However, GHF has consistently denied the use of force against civilians at its sites. On several occasions, the organization has sounded the alarm over threats emanating from Hamas against aid workers and seekers. This aligns with a request GHF had for Fox News, which was to blur the faces of the Palestinians working with the organization out of fear of Hamas retribution.TRUMP OFFICIALS VISIT GAZA AID SITES AS INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY PRESSURES ISRAELGHF says it has distributed over "106 million meals efficiently and directly" since May while pushing back on criticism and claims that its sites are dangerous. The organization insists that its goal is to feed Palestinians in need while bypassing Hamas, the terror group governing the war-torn enclave. While Fox News was given an inside look at GHF, major questions remain. It is unclear how the organization is receiving funding and how much more they can expect in the future.Recently, the U.N. released its monthly infographic on UN2720 Mechanism for Gaza. In June 2025, the U.N. reported that out of its 1,090 aid trucks, only 47 arrived at an "intended civilian destination inside Gaza." Meanwhile, the other 1,043 trucks were allegedly intercepted "either peacefully by hungry people or forcefully by armed actors" in Gaza.At the request of the U.N., Israel will let limited commercial goods enter the enclave, according to Fox News Chief Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst. This strategy is apparently aimed at getting more goods into Gaza markets, allowing those in need of free aid to get to it first.0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 5 Views 0 Προεπισκόπηση
