WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTrump tells Schumer to 'GO TO HELL' over Senate nominee deal funding demands after negotiations collapseHours of tense negotiations to strike a deal on President Donald Trumps nominees blew up Saturday night, and now lawmakers are headed home.Senate Republicans and Democrats were quick to point the finger at one another for the deals demise, but it was ultimately Trump who nuked the talks.PIRRO CONFIRMED AS D.C. U.S. ATTORNEY AMID PARTISAN CLASH AS DEM NOMINEE BLOCKADE CONTINUESIn a lengthy post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump accused Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., of "demanding over One Billion Dollars in order to approve a small number of our highly qualified nominees.""This demand is egregious and unprecedented, and would be embarrassing to the Republican Party if it were accepted. It is political extortion, by any other name," Trump said. "Tell Schumer, who is under tremendous political pressure from within his own party, the Radical Left Lunatics, to GO TO HELL!""Do not accept the offer," he continued. "Go home and explain to your constituents what bad people the Democrats are, and what a great job the Republicans are doing, and have done, for our Country. Have a great RECESS and, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"DEMS DIG IN, TRUMP DEMANDS ALL: NOMINEE FIGHT BOILS OVER IN SENATE AS GOP LOOKS FOR A DEALInstead of finding a pathway to vote on as many as 60 of the presidents nominees, all of which moved through committee with bipartisan support, lawmakers rapid-fire voted on seven before leaving Washington until September. But Schumer treated Trump's move as a victory for Senate Democrats. He countered that it was the president who gave up on negotiations while he and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., worked to find a bipartisan solution, "provided the White House and Senate Republicans met our demands.""He took his ball, he went home, leaving Democrats and Republicans alike wondering what the hell happened," Schumer said, standing next to a poster-sized version of the presidents post."Trump's all-caps Tweet said it all," he continued. "In a fit of rage, Trump threw in the towel, sent Republicans home, and was unable to do the basic work of negotiating."But prior to the presidents edict, both sides of the aisle believed they were on the verge of a breakthrough to both meet Trumps desire to see his nominees confirmed and leave Washington.Thune said that there were "lots of offers" made between him and Schumer over the course of negotiations."There were several different times where I think either or both sides maybe thought there was a deal in the end," he said.Senate Democrats wanted the White House to unfreeze billions in National Institute of Health and foreign aid funding, in addition to a future agreement that no more clawback packages would come from the White House. In exchange, they would greenlight several of Trumps non-controversial nominees.RECESS ON ICE AS REPUBLICANS HUNKER DOWN FOR HIGH-STAKES NOMINEE BLITZSen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., accused Schumer of going "too far" by upping the price tag on his demands."We've had three different deals since last night," he said. "And every time it's been, every time it's I want more," Mullin said of Schumers demands. He said that Republicans werent caught off guard by Trumps call to halt talks, and noted that the White House had been heavily involved in negotiations."You get to a realization that there was, it was never about making a deal," he continued. "They want to go out and say the President's being unrealistic, and because he can't answer to his base to make a deal like we have in every other president in history."Now, Republicans wont pursue recess appointments, but Mullin noted that moving ahead with a rule change to the confirmation process when lawmakers return in September was going to happen in response."The asks evolved on both sides quite a bit over time," Thune said. "But in the end, we never got to a place where we had both sides agree to lock it in."Senate Democrats, on the other hand, countered that their offer never changed, and that Republicans kept increasing the number of nominees they wanted across the line, and attempted to include more controversial, partisan picks.Schumer wouldn't reveal the details of his demands, but charged that any changes to Senate rules would be a "huge mistake," and urged Trump to work with Senate Democrats moving forward, particularly as Congress hurtles toward yet another deadline to fund the government in September."They should stop listening to him," Schumer said. "If they want to do what's good for the American people, they shouldn't be in blind obeisance to Donald Trump."0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 37 Visualizações 0 Anterior

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMMcCloskeys win back AR-15 rifle 5 years after Black Lives Matter protest confrontationThe St. Louis couple who went viral in 2020 for wielding guns as Black Lives Matter protesters marched outside their property have regained possession of their semiautomatic rifle. After a yearslong and complex legal struggle to reclaim their weapons after they were seized by authorities more than five years ago, police have returned the AR-15 to St. Louis lawyers Mark and Patricia McCloskey."It only took 3 lawsuits, 2 trips to the Court of Appeals and 1,847 days, but I got my AR15 back!" Mark McCloskey posted to his X account on Friday, along with several photos of him carrying the gun."We defended our home, were persecuted by the left, smeared by the press, and threatened with death, but we never backed down."SUPREME COURT DECLINES TO EXAMINE APPEALS OVER MARYLAND, RHODE ISLAND GUN CONTROL LAWSIn a separate X post, Mark McCloskey also shared a video of himself retrieving the rifle from a police station."That gun may have only been worth $1,500 or something, and it cost me a lot of time and a lot of effort to get it back, but you have to do that," Mark McCloskey told Fox News Digital, adding he owns other weapons. "You have to let them know that you will never back down, you'll never give up."He said he expects their pistol, wielded by Patricia McCloskey during the confrontation, to be returned by next week. The AR-15 ended up in the possession of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, while the pistol wound up in the possession of the St. Louis Sheriff's Department, he added."Each and every one of us owns a personal responsibility for our freedom and our democratic republic," Mark McCloskey said.SPORTS REPORTER GUNNED DOWN IN ROAD-RAGE SHOOTING ON INTERSTATE, POLICE SAYIn June 2020, a video of the gun-toting McCloskeys took the internet by storm after a swarm of Black Lives Matter protesters broke down an iron gate and ignored a "No Trespassing" sign on their private street. The couple, who said they felt threatened, armed themselves before heading outside to ward off the crowd, which was on its way to the former mayors home. "You can't let them get an inch."The St. Louis Sheriff's Office and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 37 Visualizações 0 Anterior

"Shouldnt be surprised but its mind boggling the red tape and hoops theyre putting us all through.""Its maddening and heartless the endless hoops and meaningless protocol LA County is asking of fire victims who want to rebuild and get their lives back," she added. "Wasnt California going to make this as easy as possible?"A few days later, the New Hampshire native had more to say, writing, "6 permits issued in Altadena. 10,000 structures burned down. The pace is glacial. The nonsensical red tape they have in place that prevents those of that are ready to rebuild is just mind-boggling."And I say this as someone with privilege: we have insurance, plans, a contractor, etc everyone deserves an advocate and a system that is streamlined and supports success. People want to get the ball rolling and start to piece their lives back together.""We JUST finished building one of the structures that burned down [this past] November.
