I'm Gen Z and many in my generation lost faith in the American Dream. Prove them wrong
Gen Z is on the verge of opting out. Not out of laziness out of disillusionment. Weve inherited a roadmap that no longer leads anywhere, and for many of us, the American Dream feels more like a bedtime story than a blueprint for life.I know this because I almost walked away from it too. But I didnt. And now Im building the tools to make sure others dont have to.Im 23 years old, a first-generation American. My parents came here from China in the late 90s, carrying little more than hope and an oversized suitcase. They believed maybe more than anything that hard work meant opportunity. They didnt have much, but they had that belief. And through discipline and what I now recognize as unimaginable sacrifice, they carved out a life that gave me the freedom to dream bigger than they ever could.THE AMERICAN DREAM SLIPS FURTHER AWAY AS YOUNGER ADULTS RETREAT TO PARENTS' HOMESThat dream led me to pave my own way. I started investing in 2nd grade with a custodian account I begged my parents to open. I dropped out of high school to build and sell my first company, a virtual reality startup.I then found myself starting Harvard at the height of the pandemic. From my dorm room, I participated in the COVID investing boom -- memestocks, crypto, super-star fund managers I embraced it all. And the eventual collapse of the mania inspired me to take action. I dropped out to build dub, a fintech platform to help all Americans invest with more clarity and confidence. In many ways, Im living proof that the American Dream is still possible. But I know Im an outlier. And unless we make bold changes fast my generation will stop believing its even worth trying. We recently partnered with Harris Poll to ask Americans how they really feel about their financial future. What we found is sobering. Sixty percent of Gen Z no longer believe a traditional 9-to-5 job will get them to their financial goals. Forty-three percent say side hustles are essential. Forty-one percent believe you have to be an entrepreneur just to make it. And something that hit me hard: only about half of Gen Z still sees owning a home as a meaningful financial milestone. For many of us, success isnt a white picket fence. Its paying off debt. Supporting our parents. Having breathing room. The old roadmap graduate, get a job, buy a house sounds like fiction in todays economy. This isnt laziness. Its adaptation. Were rising costs, shrinking wages, and an education system that never taught us how money works. Were the "FinTok Generation" 62% of us turn to social media for financial advice. Not because its ideal but because its all weve got. We didnt grow up with financial advisors. So we take what we can get TikToks, Reddit threads, group chats.NEW STUDY REVEALS THREATS TO THE CLASS OF 2025. FIXING THEM SHOULD BE JOB NO. 1 FOR AMERICAAnd were not just passively watching. Sixty percent of Gen Z is already investing outside of retirement accounts. Sixty-five percent believe thats our best shot at building wealth. But only 17% of Americans say they actually feel confident in how the stock market works. Were out here trying. But were often guessing. And the tools were using? A mixed bag. Seventy-two percent of Americans believe fintech has made investing more accessible and it has. But too many of those platforms profit off confusion. They push people toward options trades, meme stocks, FOMO bets. Thats not investing. Thats gambling in a suit.I built dub to flip that script. Instead of blindly investing, dub lets users copy the trades of real investors with real investing strategies. No hype. No TikTok influencers peddling the next billion dollar meme coin. Just transparency, long-term investing, and real expertise. And it only takes $100 to start. Were actually not re-inventing the wheel. Were democratizing what the wealthy already have: access to expertise. Rich people dont DIY their investments they hire fancy wealth managers and invest with elite hedge funds. Were making that experience available for all Americans. You no longer need wealth to build wealth. Anyone can now outsource the hard work of investing in a single tap.HOUSING CRISIS DEEPENS AS 47 MAJOR METRO AREAS NOW REQUIRE HOMEBUYERS TO SPEND MORE THAN 30% OF INCOMEBut this isnt just about dub. Its a wake-up call to every company building for Gen Z.Were tired of being monetized to the brink. Tired of platforms profiting from the very confusion they create. Tired of watching tools that could empower our generation instead exploit us for short-term gains. Its why I built dub: to prove that mission-driven companies can create a brighter, more optimistic future not just for shareholders, but for entire generations. If even 1% of Americans learn to invest better, we begin to show that anyone, from any background, can participate in the greatest wealth engine ever created: the American stock market. Why do I call out other industry leaders? Because Ive lived the alternative. My family came to Detroit with $10,000 a year and lived in section 8 housing and today, Im building one of the fastest-growing investing platforms in New York City.Thats the American Dream. And it shouldnt stop with me.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONBut to keep it alive, we need to build differently. We need to stop creating products that amplify the worst of human nature and profit off the confusion of my generation. We need tools that give Gen Z a reason to believe again in the system, in themselves, and in the future of this country. Were redefining the Dream. Im here to lead the way. But I cant do it alone.Heres how we unlock the American Dream for Gen Z in 2025.1. Build the right tools. Tech companies must stop profiting off risky behavior. Build tools that feel native to Gen Z, but nudge us toward long-term investing, not YOLO bets.2. Teach financial literacy like its life or death because it is. Start from the moment our children can read. Teach compounding. Teach ownership. Teach debt and credit. These are not electives. Theyre survival skills.3. Make ownership the new norm. Let every American feel not just hear that theyre part of this countrys wealth engine. When we own a piece of innovation, we believe in its future. If Gen Z stops believing in the American Dream, we dont just lose a generation. We lose the future of this country. But I believe were not beyond repair. When Gen Z sees a real path we take it. We grind. We build. We help each other up. But if the path stays hidden or rigged, well stop walking it altogether. And well build a different one instead. The American Dream made me. Now Im working to make sure Im not the last.

Young progressives look to Zohran Mamdani, AOC as future of the Democratic Party under one condition
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and New York City Democratic mayoral nominee, Zohran Mamdani, are the future of the Democratic Party, young political activists at the Voters of Tomorrow Summit in Washington, D.C., told Fox News Digital. At the summit, attendees voiced their enthusiasm for the democratic socialist starsbut also pointed to one issue where they want a stronger, clearer stance. The "Fighting for Our Future" event on Friday, July 25, featured more than 200 youth organizers, leaders and progressive politicians, like Rep. Ro Khanna of California and former DNC vice chair David Hogg. As the progressive wing of the party looks to new leadership, one attendee urged Ocasio-Cortez to get louder about Gaza."I really like AOC," Reihena Djema, an attendee from Ohio, told Fox News Digital. "Unfortunately, I would like to see her stand and be more vocal about Palestine. But other than that, I really think that she should be the leader of the Democratic Party as she is a Democratic socialist."Ocasio-Cortez made political waves when she welcomed Mamdani to the nation's capital for a closed-door skill-sharing event with congressional Democrats on how to run a successful digital campaign. The self-described Democratic socialists may have been missing from Friday's event, but their policies seeped into conversations at the summit.AOC, SANDERS WELCOME MAMDANI TO DC FOR HIS CAPITOL HILL DEBUT, URGING RELUCTANT DEMS TO 'GET TO KNOW HIM'"I think that more politicians should be adopting socialism," Djema said. "I think it's really important to be class-conscious, and remove ourselves from this neo-liberal idea of it's okay to, like, do capitalism and exploit workers, and I think the Democratic Party should be the party for workers and look more towards socialism."AOC WELCOMES SOCIALIST MAMDANI TO NATION'S CAPITAL AS DEM LEADERS WITHHOLD ENDORSEMENTSMamdani has been criticized by conservatives and moderates for his past anti-capitalist comments, including a years-old suggestion to seize the means of production. And Ocasio-Cortez's own progressive base, including the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), has criticized her for voting against an amendment proposed by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., to cut $500 million in funding for Israel's defense systems, which the Democrat said "does nothing to cut off offensive aid to Israel nor end the flow of US munitions being used in Gaza.""If youre saying I voted for military funding, you are lying," Ocasio-Cortez fired back on X. And she had previously clarified, "I remain focused on cutting the flow of US munitions that are being used to perpetuate the genocide in Gaza."But her campaign office was later vandalized with red paint, reading, "AOC funds genocide in Gaza.""I think that she should be more vocal about what's happening in Gaza, specifically condemning Israel for their genocide, and standing out on that," Djema said, while adding she thinks Ocasio-Cortez is "great.""Being a young person, a young voter, a college student, seeing people like Zohran Mamdani and AOC, just gaining so much more footing and so much more recognition in the policy field is very empowering," Zainab Chowdry, a rising junior at the University of Texas, told Fox News Digital.Chowdry said there's a "stigma" around socialism, particularly from conservatives, so she's optimistic and empowered that "people are really advocating for very common-sense policies," like healthcare for all and affordability."I think candidates like Zohran Mamdani and AOC are really inspiring to see. Someone like Mamdani, a Muslim like me, and Zainab here, it's so inspiring to see. I think that someone like that in 2028 can carry a lot of momentum. I think people are so excited," Ayan Molodina, a high school sophomore from Austin, Texas, told Fox News Digital.Molodina said people in Texas are "fired up" about Mamdani, adding, "I think that's proof right there that people are ready for change, and I think that he brings that fresh perspective that people are looking for."Deon Tran, a young voter from California, admitted that, "Yes, sometimes, a lot of these policies seem out there. They haven't been tried before."But Tran told Fox News Digital that young voters "need politicians and leaders who are willing to fail and are willing to try, at the very least, instead of sticking with institutional traditions."The Californian touted Ocasio-Cortez's support for the failed Green New Deal and Mamdani's emphasis on the cost of living.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPAnd Ashi, another Californian who was representing her state's chapter at Voters of Tomorrow, said young voters are looking for "fresh thinkers" and leaders who can deliver for everyday Americans."To some extent, that's probably why a lot of these young voters are really resonating with AOC and people like Zohran Mamdani," she added.Fox News Digital reached out to Ocasio-Cortez's office regarding the implication that she do more for Gaza.

Brian Walshe murder trial: Prosecutors say husband dismembered wife Ana to dodge prison in art fraud case
As Brian Walshe awaits a trial in his wife Anas murder, Massachusetts prosecutors allege it wasnt a crime of passion but a calculated plan to protect his freedom and fortune.Ana Walshe, who split her time between Washington, D.C., and her family home in Cohasset, Massachusetts, waslast seen on New Year's Day2023, when she reportedly got into a rideshare to catch a flight to D.C. to deal with a work emergency. Police in Massachusetts confirmed Walshe never got on the plane. Her husband of seven years ischarged with first-degree murder, improper transport of a human body and misleading police in his wife Anas disappearance and faces separate federal charges for art fraud. He has pleaded not guilty.Prosecutors, however, have laid out a broader and more calculated motive. As first reported by Los Angeles Magazine, state attorneys allege Brian Walshe believed that if Ana were "deceased or disappeared," he could avoid federal prison time from a previous art fraud conviction in Los Angeles.UPDATED DETAILED TIMELINE OF ANA WALSHE'S DISAPPEARANCE AND BRIAN WALSHE'S ARRESTIn 2021, Walshe pleaded guilty to a federal art fraud scheme involving the sale of two fake Andy Warhol paintings. He was sentenced in February 2024 to 37 months in prison and three years of supervised release and was ordered to pay $475,000 in restitution, according to the Department of Justice. This theory, according to prosecutors, casts Walshe's alleged actions as a deliberate effort to eliminate his wife as a means to remove his looming federal prison term.Ana reportedly confided in a friend shortly before her disappearance that Walshe was convinced having custody of their children in Massachusetts would help him evade incarceration in the federal case, according to prosecutors.ANA WALSHE MURDER: HUSBAND BRIAN WALSHE THREW OUT HACKSAW WITH POTENTIAL KEY PIECE OF EVIDENCE: DOCSDespite the defenses objections, Judge Diane Freniere ruled prosecutors may introduce digital evidence at trial, including Brian Walshes alleged Google search history and references to his wifes extramarital affair as part of their motive theory.According to prosecutors, in the early hours of Jan. 1, 2023, just hours after Ana Walshe was last seen, Brian allegedly used his sons iPad and his own phone to search phrases like "dismemberment and the best ways to dispose of a body," "how long before a body starts to smell" and "hacksaw best tool to dismember."At a recent evidence hearing July 24, Walshes lead defense attorney, Larry Tipton, argued prosecutors have no proof Brian knew about Anas affair, a central piece of the states theory of premeditation. Fox News Digital has reached out to Tipton for comment.Without direct evidence of that knowledge, Tipton said, the states claim of motive was "pure speculation."But retired Massachusetts Superior Court Judge Jack Lu told Fox News Digital premeditation doesnt require a long timeline."A decision to kill may be formed over a period of days, hours, or even a few seconds," Lu said.SUSPECTED WIFE KILLER BRIAN WALSHE DODGES ONE LEGAL BULLET AS MURDER CASE WAITS FOR DNAHe added that the legal threshold at the grand jury level is only probable cause, not proof beyond a reasonable doubt, making it unlikely the defense can suppress the search data."These are absolutely top-shelf lawyers. Everyone knows what theyre doing, and nobody makes foolish claims. Its demanding for the judge, but its also easier because its all on the record, and the legal arguments are very clean," he said.Judge Freniere recently denied the defenses motion to exclude the incriminating digital evidence, allowing jurors to consider Walshes alleged search history for body disposal during the trial."Good for the defense to move to dismiss this for multiple reasons, including legal staging for related arguments," Lu noted. "However, at the end of the day, dismissal on these grounds is almost impossible. Grand jurors are entitled to accept or reject evidence as they see fit."FOLLOW THE FOX TRUE CRIME TEAM ON XAdditional court filings revealed that, on Christmas Day 2022, Walshe allegedly Googled the name of Anas rumored lover, identified in court only as "W.F.," six times.Prosecutors also disclosed that Walshes mother had hired a private investigator to follow Ana in Washington, D.C., where she lived during the week, and was allegedly conducting the affair. The prosecution further cited a $2.7 million life insurance policy naming Brian Walshe as the sole beneficiary, bolstering what they claim is a financial motive in the case.SIGN UP TO GET THE TRUE CRIME NEWSLETTERJury selection in his trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 20, with proceedings expected to last approximately three to fourweeks.Fox News Digital's Chris Eberhart contributed to this report.

Sterling Sharpe returns gold jacket favor, honors brother Shannon Sharpe in heartfelt Hall of Fame moment
Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Sterling Sharpe's wait to become a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame came to an end on Saturday.Sharpe delivered a heartfelt speech and received his bust in Canton on Saturday. But perhaps the most memorable moment of Sharpe's special day involved returning the favor to his brother and fellow Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMSterling handed his brother his long-awaited gold jacket on Saturday. The gesture came years after his brother gave him a Super Bowl ring, something he described as " the most precious gift I've ever received."Sterling retired after the 1994 NFL season. Three seasons later, the Denver Broncos defeated the Packers in Super Bowl XXXII. The victory secured Shannon's first championship ring. He gifted his older brother the coveted Super Bowl ring, before winning two more titles over the next three years.During his speech on Saturday, Sterling acknowledged the special bond he shared with his younger brother. "Everything I did athletically, everything, I did for an audience of one," Sterling said. "I didn't want this person to look outside our own dinner table to find a role model."HALL OF FAME RETURNER DEVIN HESTER SAYS HE WOULD'VE BEEN 'FIRST-BALLOT' WITH NEW NFL KICKOFF RULESShannon was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011. At the time, he famously declared his older brother was the better football player between the two of them."The last time I was here, you said you were the only pro football player in the Hall of Fame that could say this, that you were the second-best player in your own family. Well, I agree with that statement," Sterling quipped."It would be my extreme pleasure for you to be the only player in the Pro Football Hall of Fame with two gold jackets."The Sharpe brothers became the first sibling duo in NFL history to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.In a prerecorded video played before Sterling took the podium, Shannon lauded his brother for playing a physical style of football."He was a freight train," Shannon said. "He was a physical receiver. He ran to contact. He didn't shy away from it. It didn't matter if it was a slant over the middle and he had to run through two tackles"He wanted to dole out the punishment, just as they were going to try to punish him."The elder Sharpe spent his entire storied career with the Packers, earning All-Pro honors three times and leading the NFL in receiving touchdowns twice. New Jersey man missing in Grand Canyon 'mega-fire' as search efforts continue week later
A New Jersey man has been missing for about a week as a "mega-fire" ravages the Grand Canyon National Park.Thomas Daniel Gibbs, 35, of Freehold, New Jersey, was last heard from by his friends and family at approximately 12 p.m. on July 22, the National Park Service said in a press release. His friends and family reported him missing on July 28.The U.S. Forest Service declared a "mega-fire" on July 31 when the Dragon Bravo Fire burning along the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park surpassed 100,000 acres in size.It was considered the largest fire burning in the continental U.S. and one of the top 10 largest in recorded Arizona history. Getting around it would be roughly like driving from New York City to Washington, D.C.CALIFORNIANS CONFRONT MAN ACCUSED OF STARTING LA FIRE UNTIL POLICE MAKE ARRESTAccording to the National Park Service, Gibbs described as a White male standing six-foot-one-inches tall is believed to have been in the Grandview Trail and Horseshoe Mesa area on July 22.He is further described as having brown hair and brown eyes, with no known tattoos."Park rangers are asking anyone who was in the Grandview Trail around July 22 and who may have seen Gibbs or has information on his whereabouts to contact the NPS Investigative Services Branch Tip Line at 888-653-0009. Tips can also be submitted online at www.nps.gov/ISB or via email at nps_isb@nps.gov," the press release said.Gibbs remained missing as of Friday and search efforts were centered on a high-angle terrain near Grandview Point, USA Today reported, citing a statement from Grand Canyon National Park.Fox News Digital reached out to Grand Canyon National Park and the National Park Service on Sunday but did not immediately hear back.According to the National Park Service, a lightning strike ignited the Dragon Bravo Fire on July 4 and prompted a "confine and contain strategy," but high wind gusts of up to 40 miles per hour on July 12 caused a rapid 500-acre spread overnight. On July 30, containment dropped to just 4% amid strong winds and dry conditions.Officials said the Dragon Fire Bravo in Arizona coupled with another fire burning in Monroe, Utah were so hot that they were spurring the formation of "fire clouds" that can create their own erratic weather systems.HISTORIC GRAND CANYON LODGE DESTROYED IN WILDFIRE, WHICH CLOSES NORTH RIM FOR SEASONTowering convection clouds known as pyrocumulus clouds had been spotted over Arizona's blaze for at least seven consecutive days, fueling the fire with dry, powerful winds, fire information officer Lisa Jennings told the Associated Press last week. They form when air over the fire becomes superheated and rises in a large smoke column. The giant billowing clouds can be seen for hundreds of miles and can resemble an anvil.Their more treacherous big brother, a fire-fueled thunderstorm known as the pyrocumulonimbus cloud, sent rapid winds shooting in all directions this week as a smoke column formed from the Utah fire then collapsed on itself, fire team information officer Jess Clark said."If they get high enough, they can also create downdrafts, and thats something we really watch out for because that can quickly spread the fire and can be very dangerous for firefighters who are doing their work on the ground," Jennings told the AP.The National Park Service website says that the North Rim is closed for the remainder of the 2025 season "because of damage and losses caused by the Dragon Bravo Wildfire."The Dragon Bravo Fire destroyed approximately 70 structures, including the historic Grand Canyon Lodge, the North Rim Visitor Center, and many guest cabins, according to the agency."The park is currently focused on emergency stabilization to protect remaining infrastructure and natural resources. Planning is underway for the recovery and rebuilding of visitor facilities, including the Grand Canyon Lodge, although this process will take time," the website says. "While the South Rim remains open and continues to welcome visitors, there is currently no access to the North Rim or to North Rim facilities. We understand the importance of the North Rim to our visitors, employees, and partners, and we are committed to keeping the public informed as plans for recovery progress."The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Americans' perception of discrimination against Black people dropped in last four years
A new report shows that slightly less than half of U.S. adults believe that Black and Hispanic people face "a great deal" or "quite a bit" of discrimination in the United States.According to the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll, the number of people saying Asian people and Black people are experiencing discrimination has dropped since the last time the survey was conducted in April 2021.Four in 10 say that Black and Hispanic people face "quite a bit" or "a great deal" of discrimination. Three in 10 say the same about Asian people, and one in 10 say it about White people, according to the report. The previous Associated Press-NORC poll was conducted a year after the death of George Floyd when protests occurred all across the country calling for an end to racial discrimination in police activities. The last survey showed that 61% of U.S. adults said there was a great deal or quite a bit of discrimination against Black Americans.CORNELL UNIVERSITY HIT WITH FEDERAL CIVIL RIGHTS COMPLAINT OVER ALLEGED DISCRIMINATORY DEI PRACTICESThe new survey also noted that while many groups experience discrimination, the report showed skepticism that diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs are effective at mitigating discrimination."Many say DEI programs do not make a difference and roughly 3 in 10 think DEI initiatives increase discrimination against most racial and ethnic groups including White people. About a third feel DEI efforts are reducing discrimination against women, Hispanic people, and Asian people while 4 in 10 say the same about Black people," the report stated. The Philadelphia Tribune interviewed Americans to get their reactions to the latest poll.WHITE MEN ARE WALKING AROUND ON EGGSHELLS AT WORK, AFRAID TO SPEAK FREELY: SURVEYClaudine Brider, a 48-year-old Black Democrat in Compton, California, told the Tribune that "the concept of DEI has made the workplace difficult for Black people and women in new ways.""Anytime they're in a space that they're not expected to be, like seeing a Black girl in an engineering course... they are seen as only getting there because of those factors," Brider said. "It's all negated by someone saying, 'You're only here to meet a quota.'"Gilbert, Arizona resident Pete Parra said that "DEI is making things harder for racial minorities now." He worries about how his two adult Hispanic sons will be treated when they apply for work."I'm not saying automatically just give it to my sons," said Parra, who leans toward the Democratic Party. But he's concerned that now factors other than merit may take priority."If they get passed over for something," he said, "they're not going to know (why)."CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURECLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPMany proponents of DEI argue that the effort corrects historical injustices and systemic inequities. However, conservatives say that it promotes division instead, leading DEI initiatives to face opposition from conservative groups and state legislatures across the U.S.

It has been over a year since President Joe Biden made one of the hardest decisions in political history and announced that he would not seek re-election. Since that day, and the day thatVice PresidentHarrisslostin November, the Democratic Party has been in a full-blown identity crisis. We started a full-blown autopsy, we started looking for new messages, new leaders, new formats, and new language. We are investing millions to "study" how to connect with male voters. The holy grail is "authenticity," which means speak like a normal human. (That includescurse words, which bodes well for this New Yorkerswearing isour native tongue.)We are listening to anyone who says they have thesecret formula. That is why, when Zohran Mamdani energized young voters in NYC, everyone, especially the media, turned their attention to him. He capitalized on anger and frustration with inaction in Washington, connected with voters' concerns about affordability, andusedsocial mediamasterfully, running rings around his older, squarer opponents. He was hip, and he was "real."But all the hyperventilating is premature. Mamdani won a multi-candidate Democratic primary in a deep blue city, held on a 100-degree day in June. He received less than 600,000 votesin a city of over 8 million. So, lets not let social media tell us that he is the future of the Democratic Party. Im a NYC Democrat and I dont remember anyone outside of the five boroughs caring what Mayor Bloomberg, DiBlasio, or Adams did on the national level.KAMALA HARRIS DECISION NOT TO RUN IN 2026 OPENS DOOR TO POSSIBLE SECOND PRESIDENTIAL RUN IN 2028If you are a Democrat running anywhere outside of the blue bubble cities, and especially if youre trying to flip a seat from red to blue, you cast your gaze across the Hudson and south for the blueprint you need.Hop on Amtrak and disembark inTrenton, New Jersey or Richmond,Virginia, andthe answerwill beright in frontof you. What you will see are two candidates who have national security credentials that would let Democrats win back the patriotic and military voters because they can walk the walk, not just talk it like Republicans have in the past. What you will see are candidates that have proven bipartisan track records in Congress of getting shit done. These two candidates are Mikie Sherill and Abigail Spanberger. They are real andauthentic. They are what would be created if liberals and moderates, swing voters and suburban moms, young men and military hawks, andvalues-based, pragmatic Democrats with national appeal all gave their input toChatGPT.These are two women Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., could campaign with, and Sen. Joe Manchin, my former boss, could work with.To quote Mr Mamdani, we should learn how to say their names because we have to get it right.DEMOCRATS ARE STILL LOST BUT ONE YEAR AFTER BIDEN'S EXIT, THEY'RE STARTING TO FOLLOW A RIVAL'S ROADMAPSo why arent they being elevated as the future or blueprint for success?Dont tell me its because they havent won their general elections yet. That has never stopped us before. Im old enough to remember Howard Dean and Beto ORourke being crowned as saviors of the left before they won anything. Ive read"Whats the Matter with Kansas?"Im familiar with the Abundance movement. Im not knocking any of them. But lets be honest: weve gone looking for answers in far less proven places.Maybe its gender. Maybe we have a harder time seeing two tough, competent, patriotic women as the leaders who could rebuild our Partys coalition. If you look at their records and accomplishments, theyve walked the walk, many of their male colleagues just talk about.Theyre not fantasy candidates. Theyre not focus-group fabrications. Theyre real leaders with real records, with national security credentials, bipartisan chops, and electoral success in places that arent easy for Democrats. They appeal to swing voters, military families, independents, union members, and suburban moderatesall the people we keep saying we need to win back. And they did it without changing who they are, bending to the winds of polling or message-tested language. They did it by being who they have been since they were first elected in 2018.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONAbigail is a former CIA undercover agent who prevented terrorist attacks and tracked transnational gangs and was also a Postal Inspection Officer who investigated child predators and narcotics traffickers. In Congress, she passed bipartisan legislation to prevent fentanyl overdoses, allowed Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices, and put more cops on the streets of local cities.Mikie served 10 yearsas a Naval helicopter pilot and led missions throughout Europe and the Middle East. She was a Russian policy officer aiding in the implementation of our nuclear treaty obligations and oversaw the relationship between the U.S. Navy and Russian Federation Navy. After that, she joined the U.S. Attorneys Office to help people leaving prison gain employment, housing, and education to restart their lives, and then as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, she prosecuted federal cases to keep illegal guns off our streets. In Congress, she was influential in helping pass the most significant investment in roads, bridges, and transportation in 50 years, as well as the bill that brought manufacturing companies and investments back from China to the U.S.These arent exactly the career paths of career politicians. These are values-based, pragmatic Democrats with national appealpeople Elizabeth Warren could campaign with, and Joe Manchin could work with. They arent yelling into the void or stoking culture wars. They arent on cable news every night and social media all day. They are solving problems that matter to working families, and theyve got the records to prove it. And somehow, theyve done all that without needing to shout about it to the media. So, instead of searching for new slogans, influencers, or magic polling words, maybe its time to look up from our phones and social media platforms and see whats right in front of us.
