Democrats fume over new plan to house illegal migrants in New Jersey, Indiana military bases
Military bases in both New Jersey and Indiana will soon be used by Homeland Security to house illegal immigrants, drawing a furious response from Democratic lawmakers.Parts of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey and Camp Atterbury in Indiana will be repurposed and used as "temporary soft-sided holding facilities," the Defense Department told Fox News Digital, citing a decision by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.New Jersey Democrats blasted the decision, warning it would harm military readiness and urging Republicans to join them in helping reverse it. Both bases were previously used to house thousands of Afghan refugees following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.SELF-DEPORT OR END UP IN 'ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ,' NOEM WARNS MIGRANTS DURING TRUMP VISIT"This is an inappropriate use of our national defense system and militarizes a radical immigration policy that has resulted in the inhumane treatment of undocumented immigrants and unlawful deportation of U.S. citizens, including children, across the country," the group of Democrats said in a joint statement."Using our countrys military to detain and hold undocumented immigrants jeopardizes military preparedness and paves the way for ICE immigration raids in every New Jersey community. We have the greatest military in the world and using it as a domestic political tool is unacceptable and shameful."The statement was made by Reps. Herb Conaway, LaMonica McIver, Donald Norcross, Rob Menendez, Frank Pallone, Bonnie Watson Coleman, Josh Gottheimer and Nellie Pou as well as Sens. Cory Booker and Andy Kim.FBI CAPTURES FINAL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT INMATE WHO ESCAPED ICE FACILITY IN NEW JERSEYIt is unclear when either site will open and a decision will depend on operational requirements and coordination with Homeland Security, the Defense Department said.Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurstis a joint military base operated by U.S. Air Force, Army and Navy the only tri-service base in the country. Spanning 42,00 acres, its home to 45,000 military and civilian personnel, making it one of the largest and most strategically important on the East Coast.Camp Atterbury is an Army and Air National Guard base near Edinburgh that spans 34,000acres and has been used for training brigades and hosting large-scale operations.Under the Trump administration, Homeland Security has been using detention facilities to house migrants while they await asylum hearings or deportation. The lawmakers said that Hegseth wrote to Conoway informing him of the decision. Hegseth wrote in the letter that the move would not negatively affect military training, operations, readiness, or any other military requirements, per NJ Spotlight News.New Jersey is already home to Delaney Hall and the Elizabeth Detention Center which are being used as immigration detention facilities, although they are privately operated. Delaney Hall was the scene where Democrat Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested and charged with trespassing in a clash with federal immigration officials in May. Rep. LaMonica McIver, DN.J., was later federally charged for allegedly interfering with federal officers during the same incident. The news comes two weeks after President Donald Trump signed the Big Beautiful Bill into law, which allocated between $150billion and $170billion towards immigration enforcement over the next several years, $45 billion of which was carved out to expand immigration detention facilities. The funds are part of the Trump administrations efforts to carry out the largest deportation operation in the nations history.Earlier this month, the Trump administration opened an immigration detention camp in Floridas Everglades that is surrounded by alligators dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz."

Instead of browsing through a list of links, you can now get direct answers to your questions. However, these tools often provide information that is completely inaccurate, and in the context of security, that can be dangerous. In fact, cybersecurity researchers are warning that hackers have started exploiting flaws in these chatbots to carry out AI phishing attacks.DREAM DENIED: A major new study by research consultancy HarrisX, funded by our family foundation, reveals that school-to-work pathways for millions of young Americans both those with and without college degrees are far more deeply fractured than previously known, posing a significant threat to building the future workforce essential to growing the U.S. economy.OPINION: SEN. Trump has now been in office for six months, for the second time. Here are the highlights
President Trump has been in office for six months, delivering on campaign promises, securing his "big beautiful bill" by his self-imposed deadline and taking decisive action on the world stage. The president was sworn into office Jan. 20, and the Trump administration has operated at warp speed since Day One.Key tenets of Trumps first 100 days included imposing harsh tariffs on Chinese imports, starting and continuing peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, and cracking down on border security amid a mass deportation initiative.CONGRESS SENDS $9B SPENDING CUTS PACKAGE TO TRUMP'S DESK AFTER LATE-NIGHT HOUSE VOTEThe next chapter of the second Trump administration began, with the House of Representatives, as promised, passing Trumps "One Big Beautiful Bill," before Memorial Day, sending it to the Senate for weeks of negotiations. The Senate made its changes, approved the legislation and kicked it back to the House just in time for the lower chamber to pass the bill before Trump's self-imposed Fourth of July deadline. The president welcomed House and Senate Republican leadership to the White House July 4 for a signing ceremony on his landmark legislation, which included key provisions that would permanently establish individual and business tax breaks included in his 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and incorporate new tax deductions to cut duties on tips and overtime pay.Trump's second administration has also focused on the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was run by Elon Musk. DOGE proposed cuts to programs that the Trump administration chalked up to wasteful and excessive government spending.Congressional lawmakers prepped a rescissions package a bill to codify those DOGE cuts into law. Congress passed that package by its deadline.TRUMP JUGGLES CHINA FRAMEWORK TRADE DEAL, LA'S ANTI-ICE RIOTS AND ISRAEL'S IRAN STRIKE IN 21ST WEEK IN OFFICETrump signed the package Friday, which blocks $8 billion in funding to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and $1 billion to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting for the remainder of the fiscal year. The dollars had been allocated by Congress for the duration of fiscal year 2025.As for Musk, his "special government employee" window expired, and he returned to the private sector. Shortly after, Musk started a short-lived feud with the president, who chose not to prolong the tensions. Trump only hit his former ally briefly, and carried on with business as usual, leaving Musk to a lonely rant on social media.Meanwhile, on the world stage, the president ordered strikes on Irans nuclear facilities.Trump's historic precision strikes on Irans nuclear sites in June hit their targets and "destroyed" and "badly damaged" the facilities critical infrastructure an assessment agreed upon by Irans Foreign Ministry, Israel and the United States. But Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently issued his latest threat against the U.S. and "its dog on a leash, the Zionist regime (Israel)," saying that Iran's attack on U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar was just the beginning of what Tehran could throw at Washington. He warned that "an even bigger blow could be inflicted on the U.S. and others."Iran has until the end of August to agree to a nuclear deal with the United States and its allies, Fox News has learned.Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the foreign ministers of France, Germany and the United Kingdom set the de facto deadline, according to three sources with knowledge of a call Wednesday among the officials. If Iran fails to agree to a deal, it would trigger the "snapback" mechanism that automatically reimposes all sanctions previously imposed by the United Nations Security Council. The sanctions were lifted under the 2015 Iran deal.IRAN FACES AUGUST DEADLINE TO ACCEPT COMPREHENSIVE NUCLEAR DEAL OR FACE RENEWED UN SANCTIONSIn his first six months as president, Trump also signed a sweeping order blocking travel to the U.S. from nearly 20 countries identified as high-risk for terrorism, visa abuse and failure to share security information. The travel restrictions announced under executive order 14161 apply to nationals from 12 countries, including Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia, Libya and Yemen, all deemed "very high risk" due to terrorist activity, weak or hostile governments, and high visa overstay rates.Domestically, the president has focused efforts on securing the border, with border crossings at a record low.U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported the lowest number of border crossings in recorded history in June.Nationwide, there were 25,228 CBP encounters, the lowest monthly number the agency has recorded, including a "historical low" of 8,024 apprehensions. Encounters include legal ports of entry, whereas apprehensions are arrests of those coming into the United States illegally. As for tariffs, the Trump administration had leveled tariffs as high as 145% on Chinese goods following the president's reciprocal tariff plans in April, when China retaliated against the U.S. with tariffs of its own. China and the U.S. reached a preliminary trade agreement in May, which Trump said China violated in a Truth Social post at the end of May. An agreement was reached between the U.S. and China in June, which includes China supplying rare earth materials to the U.S., and that Trump will "work closely" with Chinese President Xi Jinping "to open up China to American Trade.""Full magnets, and any necessary rare earths, will be supplied, up front, by China," Trump said in June. "Likewise, we will provide to China what was agreed to, including Chinese students using our colleges and universities (which has always been good with me!). We are getting a total of 55% tariffs, China is getting 10%. Relationship is excellent!"The president also celebrated the U.S. Armys 250th birthday with a massive parade in Washington June 14 kicking off a yearlong extravaganza leading up to Americas 250th birthday.Outside the White House, Trump administration agencies have delivered on promises.OBAMA ADMIN 'MANUFACTURED' INTELLIGENCE TO CREATE 2016 RUSSIAN ELECTION INTERFERENCE NARRATIVE, DOCUMENTS SHOWThe Department of Education unveiled plans to scale down its workforce, terminating nearly 1,400 Education Department employees. The Supreme Court upheld Trump's move. The Justice Department released the audio of former President Joe Bidens interview with former Special Counsel Robert Hur. Hur was investigating Biden for alleged improper retention of classified records.Congressional lawmakers had been demanding the audio of that interview be released since 2024, after the transcript of Bidens interview was littered with mistakes and revealed significant memory lapses. The Department of Justice also has started an investigation into Biden's pardons his final days in office to determine whether they are valid. Fox News Digital has learned the pardons, in his final weeks in office, were signed by autopen, with just one signed by hand the pardon for his son Hunter.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPTrump has also directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to make public any relevant grand jury testimony relating to the Jeffrey Epstein case.Over at the FBI, CIA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, intelligence officials and political appointees are in the processof declassifying all records related to the TrumpRussia investigation, also known as "Crossfire Hurricane."Fox News Digital also exclusively reported that former FBI Director James Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan are under criminal investigation relating to their actions tied to the TrumpRussia probe.Fox News' Emma Colton, Diana Stancy, Elizabeth Elkind and Louis Casiano contributed to this report.

Johnny Carsons pal recounts emotional last supper with TV icon: He knew he was dying
Howard Smith was often worried about his friend and neighbor, Johnny Carson."He smoked a lot - he would smoke three packs of cigarettes a day," Smith told Fox News Digital. "He would come over to my house, and wed play tennis, and then after that he would light up a cigarette.""I was probably on him for six months just saying, John, you should consider maybe not smoking as much,'" Smith shared. "One day, he finally told me, Ive realized that its not good for you and I shouldnt be doing it. He never smoked after that."'I LOVE LUCY' STAR DESI ARNAZ BEAT ALCOHOLISM WITH HELP FROM HIS SON: 'I DON'T WANT TO DIE'For the last 18 years of his life, the legendary "Tonight Show" host didnt smoke, Smith claimed in his book. But irrevocable damage was done. In 2002, he was diagnosed with emphysema, a disease that killed him in 2005 at the age of 79.Smith, who "knew and loved" the fiercely private TV icon, has recently written a memoir, "My Friend Johnny: The Last 20 Years of a Beautiful Life with Johnny Carson and Friends." The foreword was written by Jay Leno.WATCH: JAY LENO SAYS HES VERY LUCKY IN LIFE AS HE CARES FOR HIS WIFE WITH DEMENTIA"I wanted people to know John the John I knew," the retired businessman explained. "I was not in show business. I had the largest software company in the world at that time. And I think because I wasnt in show business, he could trust me. And in showbiz, you sometimes dont know who you can trust. I think that meant a lot to him.""I have read several things that have been written about John, and I would say that 90% of those articles were not favorable," he shared. "They were down on John. And that was not the John I knew. I wanted people to get to know my friend."And like any good pal, Smith was concerned about Carsons habits. According to his book, Carson was "an avid smoker," prompting him to ask, beg, and even challenge him to consider quitting smoking. And it was Carson's fourth wife, Alexis Maas, who ultimately got him to quit, said Smith."John was a stubborn person," Smith admitted. "Id give him st a lot. I think thats why he liked me, because wed go back and forth on different things. I never treated him like a star."In 2002, CBS News published a story titled "Johnny Carson: I'm Not That Sick." At the time, Carson said through a spokesperson that when it came to his illness, "Im dealing with it the best I can, and it is not causing me any major problems." However, Smith claimed that Carson was a lot sicker than the headline implied. He just didnt want the public "to make a fuss.""In our 20 years of playing tennis together, I knew the sound of Johns laugh, his forehand grunts, and his labored breathing," Smith wrote. "Toward the end, his breathing became increasingly difficult. We started playing less often, and then, sadly, even suddenly, despite all the signs, the day I dreaded arrived."CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERSmith told Fox News Digital he still vividly remembers the last time he saw his friend. It was after New Years in 2005. He described their evening as "the last supper.""Im at a pharmacy in Malibu, and he happened to be there," Smith recalled. "He goes, What are you doing tonight?' I said, Nothing. He said, Why dont we go get dinner tonight? John's wife had a place in Pittsburgh, so she spent a lot of time with her family there. So, he was by himself on that day. I remember he picked me and my wife up, and we went to this restaurant. We were the first people there and the last to leave.""John was the funniest Ive ever seen him," Smith reflected. "He went on and on, told stories about different people that he had on the show We just laughed so hard. Our stomachs were sore from laughing At one point, I said, I got to go to bed, and John was like, Oh no, Howard, I want to tell you this other story. And it kept going.""Looking back, there must have been something going on in his head that night. We probably had 500 dinners together, and he was never that funny, going on and on. We would have dinner at 6 oclock and be back home by eight.""For some reason, that night, he just wanted to tell us all these stories and make us laugh," Smith continued. "Weve never laughed like that before. It's like he didn't want us to leave without hearing him first. At the end of the night, he drives us up to our house, gets out of the car. He gave both my wife Jane and me a kiss and a hug. Then he tells us, I love you. John was not standoffish, but I'd never seen him do anything like that.""I think he knew he was dying, but didnt want us to worry," said Smith quietly, fighting back tears. "But at that moment, he just wanted to remember the good times. He wanted to tell us how much we meant to him. He wanted to give us the best of himself."According to Smith, Carson died 16 days later.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER"When I think about that night, I feel he wanted to tell us that he would be OK, and that he loved us," said Smith. "Thats the John I knew."Today, Smith prefers to remember the happier times. While Carson was "intimate and shy," he slowly opened up to his neighbor, who offered to play tennis with him."We used to play tennis three to four days a week," Smith chuckled. "Then one day he said, Howard, I dont think I can play anymore. I think I ran out of gas. But lets do this. On Saturdays and Sundays, you come over to my house. Ill make you a coffee, and well just sit around, talk about life."And in those later years, Carson wasnt craving the spotlight, Smith insisted."After he retired, he had another life," Smith explained. "He was traveling around the world. He went to Africa. He spent two months learning Swahili. Then he went to Russia and learned Russian so he could talk to people there. He would use this telescope at his house to look up at the stars. My wife and I would often have discussions with him about the Big Bang Theory.""A lot of people wished he hadnt retired," said Smith. "But John didnt. He loved being retired. He would study astronomy. He played card tricks. I remember we went to a local restaurant in Malibu for dinner and there was a young kid there doing different card tricks for people. And John was delighted. He would go, Can you do this? He did all kinds of card tricks for this kid John was shy and quiet, but he loved just being himself."And Carson was a loyal friend who didnt think twice about offering a helping hand in secret, said Smith. He quietly donated to the Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles, as well as to a local group dedicated to helping homeless veterans, among other charities."He loved life," said Smith. "And he gave back. He didnt need the publicity for it."Today, Smith wants the public to discover a new side of "the king of late night.""I didnt realize that he and I were building this special bond," said Smith. "But Im still grateful for that day when we first decided to play tennis together."

BROADCAST BIAS: Networks snooze as top Biden aides take the Fifth on Biden-decline scandal
The evening news shows on the broadcast networks these days arent always fixated on politics. They often lead their half-hours with frightening weather footage, and turn to Washington about 10 minutes later. But ABC, CBS and NBC can still determinewhat political scandals should be considered important, and what scandals should be buried and not acknowledged as scandals. The networks blatantly demonstrate their partisanship by treating Republican scandals as urgent matters loaded with historical weight, and dismissing Democrat scandals as either nonexistent or as desperately partisan misinformation. When Democrat and then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stacked a "special committee" on the January 6 riot with only two personally picked Republicans who would obey all of her commands, that was "historic" and nonpartisan. All of its hearings were aired live on the broadcast networks every minute, even in prime time. When Republican House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer investigates anything about former President Joe Biden and the Democrats, these networks act like all of their Capitol Hill reporters were laid off.REP. JAMES COMER MOCKS NBC STORY EQUATING HIS DIGITAL SIGNATURE WITH BIDEN'S AUTOPEN SCANDALOne major scandal of historical import is Bidens mental decline throughout his presidency, and especially at the end, as Democrats refused to consider any primary opponents, trying to push him into another four incapable years. In May, an online national I&I/TIPP Poll found 58% of those surveyed were in favor of hearings (or even criminal proceedings) on the Biden-decline scandal, and only 30% picked "do nothing, its just politics as usual." All of the so-called scandal cops at the networks are in the minority. The networks failed to move on Monday morning when The New York Times published an eye-opening front-page story. The headline was bland "Biden Says Autopen Clemencies Were All His" but within, you could see that Biden was letting his staff make decisions for him. NBC offered 34 seconds on Monday night. The others did not.BROADCAST BIAS: HOW NETWORKS BURIED A BOMBSHELL SENATE HEARING ON BIDEN'S MENTAL FITNESSEarly on Monday,NBCNews.compublished a ludicrous article with the Democrat spin that Rep. Comer has used digital signatures in committee correspondence as if thats anything like a president being unaware if he pardoned a cocaine dealer. That story was so lame that NBC didnt even put it on "Today" or "Nightly News." It was just MSNBC bait.On Wednesday, Comers committee dragged in subpoenaed top Jill Biden aide Anthony Bernal. Hes a major figure in "Original Sin," the Alex Thompson-Jake Tapper book on hiding Bidens cognitive decline. "Bidens aides would say that she was one of the most powerful First Ladies in history, and as a result he became one of the most influential people in the White House," wrote Thompson and Tapper. They touted Bernal as the "loyalty police" and one of the "protectors of the myth."Bernal is still loyal: he took the Fifth Amendment. "Well, unfortunately, that was quick," said Comer after the deposition ended. "I believe the American people are concerned. Theyre concerned that there were people making decisions in the White House that were not only unelected but no one to this day knows who they were."BROADCAST BIAS: THE NETWORKS ADORED TRUMP 'TELL ALL' BOOKS, BUT DOWNPLAY BOOKS WITH BIDEN SCOOPSABC, CBS and NBC failed to devote one second to this story. If it pleases President Donald Trump, its not getting touched. Taxpayer-funded PBS and NPR had no segment. (Fun fact: neither did Jake Tapper on his CNN show that day.) These networks didnt offer that judgment when Trump aides took the Fifth before the Pelosi-picked panel on January 6. That showed rotten contempt for the public!CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONBernal was not alone: on July 9, Bidens personal doctor Kevin OConnor repeatedly took the Fifth. In that case, "NBC Nightly News" offered a story. The other networks did nothing. This week, the broadcast networks properly devoted stories to Trumps new diagnosis of a "chronic veinous insufficiency," but that is a routine diagnosis for older people. It in no way compromises his capacity to be president, unlike Bidens growing enfeeblement.BROADCAST BIAS: NETWORKS' TAKE ON TRUMPS 100 DAYS WAS 100% SHOCKING, 0% SURPRISINGOf course, there was a Trump scandal to push at these networks this week: a fight between Trump supporters over what would be released by the Justice Department about the late child-sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Among them, the Big Three evening newscasts devoted 20 minutes and eight seconds to Trumps Epstein problems from Monday through Thursday, more than half of it (11 minutes, 43 seconds) on ABC.ABCs Rachel Scott performed the classic spin at the end of her story on Thursday: "And as much as the president wants to turn the page, behind the scenes, this is consuming a lot of time at the White House. His advisers [are] meeting about this, trying to figure a way to move past it, but many Republicans [are] making it clear this is not going away."Scandals are "not going away" when the liberal networks want to inflict headaches on the Republicans. With Democrat scandals, they cant "go away" when they never arrived.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM TIM GRAHAM

Man dies after being pulled into MRI machine by metal necklace he was wearing
A man has died after getting sucked into an MRI machine. The accident occurred on July 16 at the Nassau Open MRI in Westbury, New York, according to a press release from the Nassau County Police Department in Long Island.Officers responded to a 911 call at around 4:30 p.m. at the MRI center, which provides diagnostic radiology services.ARE FULL-BODY SCANS WORTH THE MONEY? DOCTORS SHARE WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW"Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male, 61, entered an unauthorized Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) room while the scan was in progress," the release stated."The male victim was wearing a large metallic chain around his neck, causing him to be drawn into the machine, which resulted in a medical episode."The man was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day, on July 17.The investigation is ongoing, according to the police department.Nassau Open MRI states on its website that anything metallic should be removed prior to an MRI, including hearing aids, partial plates, dentures, jewelry and hair pins.CANCER SCREENINGS: HERE ARE 5 TYPES AND CRITICAL INFORMATION TO KNOW ABOUT EACHOn a web page detailing the benefits and risks of MRIs, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) notes that "the strong, static magnetic field will attract magnetic objects (from small items such as keys and cell phones, to large, heavy items such as oxygen tanks and floor buffers) and may cause damage to the scanner or injury to the patient or medical professionals if those objects become projectiles.""Careful screening of people and objects entering the MR environment is critical to ensure nothing enters the magnet area that may become a projectile."For patients with magnetic implants, external devices and accessory medical devices, there is the risk that the MRI will "pull on magnetic materials" and cause "unwanted movement" of the device, the same source cautions. The FDA also notes that "adverse events" related to MRI scans are "very rare."Out of millions of MRI scans in the U.S. each year, the agency receives around 300 reports of adverse events primarily burns and other thermal injuries.5 CANCER TYPES WHERE SCREENINGS SAVE THE MOST LIVES"Other reported problems include injuries from projectile events (objects being drawn toward the MRI scanner), crushed and pinched fingers from the patient table, patient falls, and hearing loss or a ringing in the ear (tinnitus)," the FDA states. The MRI is a machine that uses a large magnet to produce "very intricate pictures" of the human body, according to Kenneth J. Perry, M.D., an emergency medicine attending physician in Charleston, South Carolina. This can be very helpful in capturing images of specific parts of the body, he said, such as the spinal cord, brain or pregnant abdomen."Unlike other imaging modalities, such as X-ray or CT scan, it does not use radiation, which means it is safe for children as well as pregnant women," Perry told Fox News Digital. The only major issue with an MRI machine, the doctor cautioned, is that the magnetic function is never off."This means that when approaching an MRI machine, it is impossible to be near it with anything magnetic without having that piece of clothing or device get pulled into the device," Perry said."This is different from a CT scanner, which is only causing radiation at the time that it is on obtaining imaging."The best way to prevent these types of accidents is to have a "robust MRI protocol" in place, Perry advised. "Most hospitals will have different zones built into the MRI process. Within each zone, there is a discussion about which devices or pieces of clothing are safe for the MRI," the doctor noted. In the actual machine area, there should be no magnetic material on the patients."Adhering to these very important protocols will be very helpful in preventing major issues," Perry said.It is best to discuss with the care team in advance about any potential concerns related to MRI safety, such as implanted devices, the doctor said. For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/health"In the end, MRI is a very safe imaging modality that can give very helpful and important information to physicians to help take better care of patients," Perry added.Fox News Digital reached out to Nassau Open MRI requesting comment.

Colbert's most partisan moments as 'Late Show' host, from leading Biden fundraiser to dancing with Schumer
Reaction to the cancellation of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" unsurprisingly fell on partisan lines. To sum up, President Donald Trump was gleeful on Truth Social, while prominent Democrats and liberal journalists and celebrities mourned the news and fumed at CBS for axing the progressive favorite.Under Colbert since he took over in 2015, "The Late Show" became one of late-night's most reliably partisan programs, with Democrats frequently booked for friendly interviews, abundant anti-Trump and anti-Republican jokes in his monologues, and the host himself even helping at a glitzy fundraiser for then-President Joe Biden last year. Here are some of Colbert's most partisan moments at the helm of "The Late Show."COLBERT SLAMS PARAMOUNT FOR SETTLING WITH TRUMP, ACCUSES HIS PARENT COMPANY OF OFFERING A 'BIG FAT BRIBE'In summer 2020, Colbert, broadcasting remotely in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, gushed that he had no jokes after playing clips of Michelle Obama's Democratic National Convention speech urging America to elect Joe Biden."My job is to have a joke for every time somebody says anything in public," he said, smiling."After watching Michelle Obamas speech, I have never been more happy to fail at my job."That night, he also said, "For four years, we've looked on in horror as Donald Trump tore down every norm in American life. Well, tonight, the Democrats began what Joe Biden has called a battle for the soul of this nation."Colbert's admiration for the Obamas was never a secret. At another point in 2017, after playing a clip of the former president just months into the first Trump term, he cooed, "I miss you," to huge cheers from the audience.A video of the late-night host dancing with Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., at a concert in August 2021 made waves on social media.Schumer and Colbert were widely criticized on X then Twitter for releasing the video in the midst of the Biden administration's chaotic withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. The video was posted just days after the Taliban seized the capital of Kabul and forced the U.S. Embassy there to evacuate, with American citizens left stranded in the country."Life is good for our blue elite while 1000s [sic] of Americans are stranded behind enemy lines," one user wrote."Does anyone else throw up a little in their mouth watching this??" another person asked."The majority leader when Americans are trapped in Afghanistan," another post read.COLBERT JOKES SUPREME COURT SHOULD BE CAREFUL BECAUSE SEAL TEAM 6 CURRENTLY WORKS FOR JOE BIDENColbert was one of several late-night hosts who enthusiastically celebrated former President Joe Biden's 2020 victory. An overjoyed Colbert opened his first show after the race was officially called by pouring champagne to toast Biden's win with his wife.He happily declared, "Ladies and gentlemen, Joe Biden did it! He's our next president!" before dancing. "I'm so happy!" He added that he cried with relief and suggested Trump's political career was finished. His reaction was quite the opposite after the 2016 and 2024 elections, which he treated like America's funeral. When it became clear that Trump was on the way to victory on the night of the 2016 election, Colbert appeared stunned."Wow. Thats a horrifying prospect. I cant put a happy face on that, and thats my job," he admitted during a live election special that aired on Showtime. "How did our politics get so poisonous? Maybe we overdosed. We drank too much of the poison."After the 2024 election, Colbert said he had begun to lose his faith in humanity."It's really hard to see a bright side here," he conceded.BIDEN'S STAR-STUDDED NYC FUNDRAISER RAISES MORE THAN $25M WHERE PHOTO WITH HIM, CLINTON, OBAMA COSTS $100KIn March 2024, Colbert helped boost Biden's re-election campaign which Biden later abandoned with a star-studded fundraiser in New York City. At the glitzy event, he moderated a conversation between Democratic Presidents Biden, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. The record-setting fundraiser brought in $26 million for Biden's presidential campaign. The event was a who's who of liberal elites, with Lizzo, Cynthia Erivo, Queen Latifah and other celebrities also in attendance. But Colbert was at the center of its marquee event. Organizers charged a minimum of $250 to attend and up to $500,000 for a more intimate, exclusive reception. For $100,000, guests got a photo with all three presidents taken by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz.A fawning feature in Vogue praised Colbert for leading "a compelling conversation between Biden, Obama, and Clinton with tact, grace, and a lot of laughter.""Colbert kicked things off with a series of delightfully mordant questions, among them: All three of you have been on Air Force One thats made by Boeing, right? Do any of you have plans to sell golden sneakers? and 'Is it nice to live in the White House, or do you always feel like you're in a museum?,'" Vogue's article gushed. The evening ended with Colbert, Obama and Clinton putting on aviator sunglasses in tribute to Biden as the audience cheered and took pictures.COLBERT CELEBRATES END OF COVID EMERGENCY TO MASKED AUDIENCE: I WISH YOU COULD SEE THE SMILES ON THEIR FACESWhile not abjectly partisan, Colbert aired a number of odd skits during the pandemic where animated needles did covers of various songs urging people to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Even some vaccine proponents found the presentation off-putting.In a widely panned live bit after the show returned to a studio audience, Colbert did a dance routine with a quartet of people dressed as vaccines to the song "Tequila."Although "vaccine" contains only two syllables, Colbert and his dancers sang, "Vaccine!" in place of the song's title, while the liberal crowd awkwardly watched and half-heartedly cheered. In another COVID-related moment in 2021, Colbert found himself in the strange position of clashing with friend and former Comedy Central colleague Jon Stewart over the lab-leak theory.Stewart memorably appeared on the show and espoused the lab-leak theory to a visibly troubled Colbert. He suggested it wasn't far-fetched to believe that the coronavirus pandemic originated from the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab, comparing it to a chocolate outbreak near Hershey, Pennsylvania."Oh my God, theres a novel respiratory coronavirus overtaking Wuhan, China, what do we do?" Stewart joked. "Oh, you know who we could ask, the Wuhan novel respiratory coronavirus lab. The disease is the same name as the lab! Thats just a little too weird, dont you think?""Oh my God,theres been an outbreak of chocolaty goodness near Hershey, Penn. What do you think happened? I dont know, maybe a steam shovel mated with a cocoa bean," he said. "Or its the f---ing chocolate factory! Maybe thats it!"Colbert, a reliable sycophant for Democrats and liberal talking points, jokingly suggested Stewart was working for Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., with his comments.

NYC official warns businesses will flee 'in droves' if democratic socialist candidate wins mayoral race
New York City democratic socialist mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is facing harsh criticism from business owners and local officials in the Big Apple, some of whom warn his progressive platform could drive companies and the middle class out of the city.Councilwoman Vickie Paladino sounded the alarm during an appearance on "America Reports" Friday, claiming Mamdanis proposals would cripple the citys economy and send businesses packing."We will lose businesses in droves," Paladino argued. "You got NASDAQ, you got Wall Street. They could work anywhere. They could work in Jersey, they could work in Connecticut. They don't need to be in Lower Manhattan."Paladino, a Republican representing parts of Queens, argued that Mamdanis democratic socialist agenda would send businesses fleeing to states with lower costs, such as neighboring New Jersey.MAMDANI'S FAILURE TO WALK BACK THESE POSITIONS COULD CAUSE RECKONING IN DEMOCRATIC PARTY: 'FIVE-ALARM WARNING'One of Mamdanis most controversial proposals is a plan to launch government-run grocery stores in underserved neighborhoods. The 33-year-old state assemblyman, also from Queens, says the program would aim to combat food insecurity and bring down grocery prices."As mayor, Zohran will create a network of city-owned grocery stores focused on keeping prices low, not making a profit," his campaign website states."Without having to pay rent or property taxes, they will reduce overhead and pass on savings to shoppers."LIZ PEEK: NEW YORK'S SOCIALIST NIGHTMARE IS JUST BEGINNING BUT THERE'S STILL A WAY OUTSupporters of Mamdanis proposal, often younger, more progressive Democrats, have pointed to the rising cost of groceries in the city. A study by SmartAsset, a financial advisory website, found that grocery prices in the New York metropolitan area increased by 3.3% between March 2024 and March 2025.This rise was among the highest in the nation, surpassed only by cities such as Honolulu, parts of Florida, and areas near San Diego, California. But not everyone is convinced this type of program could work in the nations largest city. Gristedes Supermarkets CEO John Catsimatidis compared the plan to failed systems in communist regimes and threatened to close stores if Mamdani is elected."Youre going to end up like Havana," Catsimatidis told "America Reports" on Thursday."I was there in Havana with Fidel Castro. The shelves were empty. He promised the world to the people. He says, Get rid of Batista, and things will be great. Well, it was all one big lie."Fox News Digital reached out to the Mamdani campaign for comment on both criticisms.CITY-RUN GROCERY STORES, DEFUNDING POLICE, SAFE INJECTION SITES: WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT NYC'S NEXT POTENTIAL MAYORPaladino had similar concerns. She noted that New York has long been a refuge for immigrants fleeing communism and warned that Mamdanis platform could potentially hurt the Middle Class, especially if small businesses are pushed out."We lose small business, we lose it all," she said. "We're [going to] lose middle-class people."The concerns over Mamdanis views are something Paladino argues has been brewing in the Democratic Party for some time, starting in schools. "They have been training and indoctrinating," she said. "Now the chickens have come home to roost, and guess what? The Democratic Party cannot control them."DAVID MARCUS: DEMOCRAT BUS HEADING OFF THE CLIFF, AS NYC SOCIALISTS HIT GAS PEDALMamdanis broader platform includes eliminating subway fares, offering free municipal housing and childcare, and ending all Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in the city. He defeated former Gov. Andrew Cuomo last month in a stunning primary victory and secured the Democratic nomination. In Novembers general election, Mamdani could face Republican Curtis Sliwa, incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, and Cuomo, who remains on the ballot as an independent.
