Domestic violence survivors blast Mamdani for past comments opposing police responses to domestic violence
Domestic violence survivors and advocates are speaking out after far-left New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdanis past comments opposing sending police to respond to domestic violence resurfaced."Police do not create safety there are so many responsibilities weve given to police that, frankly, should have nothing to do with their departments if somebody is jaywalking, if somebody is surviving, going through domestic violencethere are so many different, different situations that would be far better handled by people trained to deal with those specific situations, as opposed to an individual with a gun," Mamdani said on the Immigrantlypodcast in July 2020, the Washington Free Beacon reported.Mamdanis comments came shortly after George Floyds death engulfed the nation in a fever of anti-police riots and sentiment among the left. Domestic violence advocates are sounding the alarm about Mamdanis comments, warning that if the left-wing mayoral candidate follows through on these policies, lives could be endangered."Theres a lot of humans who are victims in the city of New York, and they need protection because sometimes its a matter of life and death. Theyre hiding in the bathroom with their children, and they need someone to come immediately," Michelle Esquenazi, founder of the Victims Rights Reform Council, told Fox News Digital.FORMER DEM ADVISOR SAYS HE'S 'ALMOST SPEECHLESS' AT MAMDANI'S 'ENRAGING' ANTI-COP COMMENTS, LAMENTS NYC CRIMEThe democratic socialist, who was first elected to the New York state legislature in 2020, has a long history of calls to defund the police. In 2020, Mamdani called to defund the police multiple times and called the NYPD "wicked and corrupt." Mamdanis campaign website calls for the establishment of the "Department of Community Safety", which his website claims will take on certain responsibilities currently delegated to the police. However, at a mayoral debate last month, Mamdani denied that he would defund the police, and vowed instead to "work with the police," and use mental health counselors and social workers to address homelessness and the mentally ill.For Esquenazi, Mamdanis past comments hit home because she claims the NYPD saved her when her ex-husband attacked her in their Queens home while she was pregnant in 1993."I called 911, and they came running. They made sure that me and my children, and I was pregnant at the time, were safe. One of the officers took us to a back bedroom and made sure that we were calmed down and made sure that we had what we needed. They separated him from the situation immediately and essentially saved our lives," Esquenazi told Fox News Digital."If Mamdani puts in any sort of barrier to victims getting immediate help from NYPD, then many lives will be lost," she said.Jennifer Harrison, also a domestic violence survivor and executive director of the Victims Rights Reform Council and founder of Victims Rights New York, echoed Esquenazis warnings that womens lives would be in danger if the NYPD was prevented from responding to domestic violence calls."It would definitely make women less safe weve already tried their experiments, and theyre failing epically. These are all smokescreens and pipe dreams," Harrison told Fox News Digital.Harrison said that she needed police, fearing for her life, when her boyfriend had a mental health crisis in 2017, in which he smashed her and her sons iPads and threatened to kill himself while preventing them from leaving their Suffolk County, NY home.RESURFACED VIDEO SHOWS ZOHRAN MAMDANI SAYING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE WOULDNT BE A PRIORITY FOR THE NYPDThe police brought her boyfriend to the hospital, seeing he needed mental health treatment, but the hospital discharged him mere hours later. However, a cop was notified and tipped off Harrison that her enraged boyfriend was on his way back home giving her and her son time to escape."That cop probably saved my life I dont think we should be playing Russian roulette with the lives of domestic violence victims," Harrison told Fox News Digital.Republican candidate for mayor Curtis Sliwa blasted Mamdani when reached for comment by Fox News Digital."Women will die, and children will die. He has no idea what goes on, hes either hopelessly naive, or he hates the police so much he doesnt care," Sliwa told Fox News Digital.Sonia Ossorio, Executive Director of National Organization for Women NYC, said that womens lives are "at stake," and she pointed out that having unarmed first responders attend to domestic violence situations could put them in harms way."The number one cause of death and major injury for women in this country is done at the hands of their intimate partner. So fast response by law enforcement that is trained and has the resources to intervene in major situations is critical," she told Fox News Digital."What are we saying about womens safety about the endemic of domestic violence if we are even hinting at the idea that police response is not a priority?"A 2021 study published by the World Journal of Psychiatry found that domestic violence is the "leading cause of homicide death for women" and found that 30% of women experience domestic partner violence, which is often called "intimate partner violence."Mamdani and two of his rivals in the NYC mayoral race, Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo, did not return Fox News Digitals request for comment.

Trump gives Putin strict ultimatum to make a deal on Ukraine or face consequences
President Donald Trump put Russian President Vladimir Putin on a 50-day clock. To drive Putin to a deal on Ukraine, Trump has a new plan: massive air defenses backed up by the Trump doctrine, where rade wins wars. But whats truly at stake is Trumps unique vision for U.S. power and prosperity. In the Oval Office with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on Monday, July 14, Trump announced more U.S. aid to Ukraine and a 100% tariff to hit Russias oil customers like China by early September."I use trade for a lot of things ... its good for settling wars," Trump said. Trump cited the example of how he employed trade threats to simmer down India and Pakistan in May. TRUMP'S BOLD PIVOT ON UKRAINE SENDS MAJOR SIGNALHowever, as he said Monday, "The only one we havent been able to get to yet is Russia."So, Trump has turned up the heat. The 100% tariffs would hit the $240 billion Russia-China trade and reverberate to India, Brazil and others. This tariff appears to be distinct from the potential 500% secondary sanctions in the Senate bill co-sponsored by Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham and Connecticut DemocratSen. Richard Blumenthal, which Trump views as a back-up plan. The second component of Trumps new strategy is to deprive Putin of gains from the mass air barrages of drones and missiles attacking Ukraine. Significantly, Trump has now put his personal backing behind aid to Ukraine in the form of a surge of air defenses.SEN LINDSEY GRAHAM: RUSSIA SANCTIONS BILL AIMS TO CHANGE PUTIN'S CALCULUS, PROTECT WORLD ORDERTrump and Rutte discussed no less than 17 Patriot air defense batteries. Thats astonishing, considering that Ukraine has six batteries in operation now, including three from the U.S. and others sent from Germany, Poland and Romania. Patriot is the gold standard for air defense. Its a full commitment by Trump and NATO to stopping Putins brutal war.Trump is also brandishing Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles like a stiletto in a street fight. TLAMs could swiftly decimate Russias air force. Trump says he wont give Ukraine TLAMs or other long-range missiles that could hit targets in Russia just now, but then, we all remember the head-fake prior to the B-2 strike on Iran, dont we?Russia has taken 100,000 casualties since January for paltry ground gains. With Trump empowering NATO, Putin is targeting Ukraines power grid and infrastructure alongside indiscriminate terror attacks. The salvos consist mainly of Iranian Shahed drones, some of which are now manufactured in Russia, along with decoys. Each barrage includes a handful of weapons that are hard to intercept: Iskander ballistic missiles, KH-101 cruise missiles and even old Soviet air defense missiles converted for ground attack. The bad news is that Russia has literally thousands of older missile types.SEN. JEANNE SHAHEEN: IF TRUMP WANTS A UKRAINE DEAL, HE SHOULD REREAD HIS OWN BOOKUkraines air defenders are top notch, due to considerable assistance from the U.S, NATO partners and others. Sophisticated monitoring and tracking have enabled Ukraine to shoot down most of Putins air weapons, but this springs saturation attacks have been challenging.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONAir defense is a group effort. The joint U.S.-Norwegian NASAMS use the converted AIM-120 fighter plane air-to-air missile and boast a 94% success rate. Another favorite is the "Frankenstein SAM" which combines old Soviet-style Buk launchers rewired by clever Americans to fire U.S. missiles like the Sea Sparrow. Australia has deployed its sophisticated E-7 Wedgetail radar surveillance plane to monitor drone and missile trajectories for intercept. If worse comes to worst, a few NATO partner F-35s could scour the skies.TRUMP HAS HIS OWN DEADLINE, 'NO ALLEGIANCE TO ANYBODY' IN UKRAINE-RUSSIA PEACE DEALDone right, the air defenses and TLAM threats will diminish the damage to Ukraine and secure Europe against Russias ongoing weapons build-up, too. There is nothing the NATO allies want more than to protect their strategic ports, railways and capitals from any threat of Russian drones and missiles.Air defense also ties back to Trumps primary goal, which is a ceasefire to stop the killing and a peace deal that will leave Ukraine with a viable economy. Hes already shifted more of the financial burden to NATO and is a good sign that the European Union on Wednesday proposed $116 billion for Ukraines economic reconstruction.Make no mistake. This is very high stakes move by President Trump. Success with the squeeze of secondary sanctions will take agile behind-the-scenes negotiation and a bit of luck. If his stratagem works, Trump will have proved the duo of tariffs and selective military power can defeat the Russia-China cabal. America will be in a strong position to reconfigure our military posture and economic strategy to face down Chinas global menace.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM REBECCA GRANT

Piers Morgan accuses Joy Reid of playing 'race card' in heated exchange
Joy Reid and Piers Morgan had a heated exchange on "Piers Morgan Uncensored" Thursday when the host disputed her claim that she was fired from MSNBC for being a Black woman."Joy, I mean, lets be honest. I dont think you were fired after all those years because of your skin color, or because youre a Black woman. I think you were fired because your show just got increasingly unpopular," Morgan said.Reids MSNBC show "The ReidOut" was canceled in February as part of a larger shakeup at the network. Her show had struggled to attract ratings, averaging only 973,000 total viewers in February 2025 compared to 1.3 million during the same month in 2024, marking a 28% decline.Reid has maintained her show suffered smaller declines than other MSNBC shows and she didn't understand the reason for the cancellation.JOY REID FLOATS SPECULATION THAT HER RACE, 'ANXIETY' SURROUNDING TRUMP PLAYED ROLE IN MSNBC FIRINGEX-MSNBC HOST JOY REID CLASHES WITH CNN PANEL AS SHE DEFENDS IRANWhen Morgan asked why she was playing "the race card" instead of acknowledging that rating struggles were behind her cancellation, an incensed Reid shot back at Morgan that he was "fixated on trying to racialize conversations.""I love the fact that your play the race card is your version of the race card. You literally are so fixated on trying to racialize conversations with me, Piers, I actually find it quite charming " Reid said before she was cut off."You racialize more conversations in your tenure at MSNBC than any host in history," a peeved Morgan interrupted while Reid continued to speak.Reids show was known for her controversial and often racially charged views, especially directing scorn towards Black Republicans and conservatives.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREShe called Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas "Uncle Clarence" due to his conservative views.Reid claimed in 2021 that Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., was only present at a GOP press conference to provide a "patina of diversity." The former MSNBC host also called Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fl., the "Black guy the Republicans love to roll out" in 2021.Reid previously told podcaster Marc Lamont Hill that being a "Black woman" made White viewers "angrier" when they objected to some of the controversial views she shared on her program."You take an entire conversation I had with Marc Lamont Hill and pick the bits that you can racialize because this is your schtick," Reid told Morgan."You racialize everything Joy, come on Its not my schtick, it was your schtick, but people got bored with it," Morgan shot back.JOY REID ACCUSES 'CHEAP' PIERS MORGAN OF AMBUSHING HER IN NEW INTERVIEWThe former "ReidOut" host went on to say that Morgan, a "White European," had a double standard for when "people of color" discussed race.Morgan and Reid's interview was contentious throughout. At another point, Morgan confronted Reid at length over her blog controversy, where homophobic posts from a Florida-based blog she had resurfaced in 2018.

PAM BONDI & ROBERT MURPHY: Team Trump is fighting deadly drug cartels to save American lives
The Department of Justice (DOJ) and its Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are dedicated to upholding the rule of law and championing the safety of the American people against deadly, illegal drugs. No drug continues to pose a greater threat to our nation than fentanyl a synthetic opioid so powerful, deadly and pervasive that it is the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18 to 45. But we cannot ignore the growing supply of highly addictive and dangerous methamphetamine. The Mexican cartels have created a vast global supply chain, sourcing precursor chemicals from countries like China, manufacturing fentanyl and methamphetamine in secret labs in Mexico, and smuggling them across the border into the United States. These drugs are flooding our communities, and their impact is catastrophic. Current CDC data estimates that 82,000 Americans died from drug overdoses last yearnearly 49,000 from fentanyl and more than 30,000 from psychostimulants, including meth. While weve seen a decline in overdose deaths in recent months, we cannot ignore the threat of fentanyl, often found in other drugs and fake pills. The cartels are also producing methamphetamine pills made to look like Adderall or MDMA, drugs popular with young adults. Fentanyl and methamphetamine together are toxic evidence that the cartels have no value for human life. TRUMP-SIGNED FENTANYL LAW WILL END CAT AND MOUSE WITH TRAFFICKERS, STATE ATTORNEYS GENERAL SAYDEAs mission is clear, and it is confronting this crisis head on. DEA is second to none at developing, interpreting and acting on intelligence. In full coordination, the DOJ is fully committed to prosecuting criminals who are in possession of these dangerous and deadly drugsincluding any fentanyl-related substance to the fullest extent of the law.Under President Donald J. Trumps leadership, the DOJ and the DEA are executing Operation Take Back America, an aggressive campaign to dismantle the criminal organizations responsible for trafficking fentanyl and other synthetic opioidsan unprecedented move to take back our communities and save American lives. Since January 20, DEA has seized over 44 million fentanyl pills and 4,500 pounds of fentanyl powder, representing over 180 million lethal doses and over 68,000 pounds of methamphetamine. Every seizure is a life saved. Every arrest removes a trafficker from the chain of distribution. Every operation sends a message: the United States will not tolerate this attack on its citizens.RUBIO ANNOUNCES NEW VISA RESTRICTIONS ON FAMILIES OF FENTANYL TRAFFICKERSOur campaign is lawful, methodical and relentless. The DEA operates under a robust framework of legal authorities designed to confront the full spectrum of drug-related crimes. Title 21 authorizes the federal prosecution of drug manufacturers and distributors. RICO statutes allow us to dismantle criminal enterprises. Asset forfeiture laws allow us to strip traffickers of the financial lifeblood of their operations. International extradition agreements ensure that no foreign-based trafficker is beyond the reach of American justice. Each tool is used in coordination with U.S. Attorneys Offices, in full compliance with constitutional protections and federal evidentiary standards. To name just a few of the recent fentanyl and methamphetamine seizures in the country:LIBERAL NEWS OUTLET MOCKED FOR REPORTING ON MYSTERIOUS DROP IN FENTANYL FLOWING ACROSS BORDEREach of these operations highlights the critical need to continue attacking the drug supply chain at every level. BONDI ANNOUNCES ONE OF LARGEST FENTANYL SEIZURES IN US HISTORYOur strategy is not limited to arrests and seizures. On July 16, Trump signed the HALT Fentanyl Act into law, which will strengthen penalties for fentanyl dealers and prevent chemists from creating new synthetic compounds to circumvent prosecution.Under Trumps direction, the administration has revitalized interagency coordination. The DOJ and the DEA are working shoulder-to-shoulder with the United States Customs and Border Protection, Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and federal prosecutors to ensure unified case development from interdiction to indictment. The president has also authorized the use of diplomatic pressure, economic sanctions and trade penalties to hold foreign nations accountable for the chemicals fueling this crisis. The DOJ is also prioritizing enhanced penalties for trafficking offenses involving serious bodily injury or death. We are prosecuting not just the dealers but the enablers, those who launder money, provide logistical support, or serve as brokers between chemical suppliers and cartels. If you profit from this poison, you will face the full force of American justice. As a result of Trumps designation of eight major cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations, we are now deploying new tools and charging traffickers with material support to terrorism, a charge that carries up to life in prison.SOME FENTANYL DEALERS WOULD BE CHARGED WITH FELONY MURDER UNDER NEW BILLLining the walls at DEA Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia, are thousands of faces of those lost to fentanyl. These faces are a stark reminder of why we do this work. Each name, each story fuels our resolve to eliminate these cartels and criminal networks and protect our communities. CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONPresident Trump has made it abundantly clear: the sovereignty of our nation begins with secure borders and safe communities. The era of open borders and drugs flowing across them is over. The federal government is back on offense. The American people deserve a justice system that protects their families from the violence of drug trafficking and the horror of overdose death. That is what the DEA and DOJ are delivering. We will not rest until the cartels are crippled, their supply chain is broken and this epidemic has ended. This is a fight for our country, and we intend to win it.Robert Murphy is the acting administrator of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, leading a workforce of nearly 9,000 public servants whose important work protects Americans from the dangers and violence associated with drug trafficking.

Doctors react to alleged Trump health concerns as photos show swelling and bruising
After photos circulated recently of President Donald Trumps apparently swollen legs and bruised hand, doctors are speaking about potential causes and concerns. In an "effort of transparency" on Thursday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared a note from Trumps physician after he underwent a "comprehensive examination" by the White House Medical Unit.During a press briefing, Leavitt stated that Trumps swollen legs were part of a "benign and common condition" called "chronic venous insufficiency" that can affect older individuals. (The president is 79.)TRUMP'S STAMINA IMPRESSES THE EXPERTS"Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease," she said.Leavitt attributed the bruising on the presidents hand to "frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin.""This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen," she said."This is a well-known and benign side effect of aspirin therapy, and the president remains in excellent health."Scott A. Sundick, M.D., a vascular and endovascular surgeon at The Cardiovascular Care Group in Westfield, New Jersey, commented on the concerns that have been raised. (He has not treated the president.)"Leg swelling is a common condition, particularly among older adults. As a practicing vascular surgeon, I see patients for this issue more frequently than almost any other complaint," he told Fox News Digital. While leg swelling is often benign, it can sometimes be a symptom of serious, potentially life-threatening conditions, such as acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT), congestive heart failure (CHF) or renal failure, according to the doctor."In the presidents case, these more concerning causes were appropriately ruled out through a combination of diagnostic testing, including a venous Doppler ultrasound, echocardiogram and laboratory evaluations respectively," he added.Sundick also spoke about the presidents diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency, which he described as a "relatively common and benign condition.""Under normal circumstances, blood returns to the heart from the legs through the veins, aided by the contraction of leg muscles with each step we take," he said.HEART ATTACK DEATHS HAVE PLUMMETED IN US, BUT NEW CARDIOVASCULAR THREATS EMERGE"These contractions help push blood upward, and valves within the veins prevent it from flowing backward toward the feet. When these valves become weakened or incompetent, blood can pool in the lower legs a condition known as venous insufficiency."This condition can cause symptoms such as leg swelling or varicose veins, the doctor noted.Treatment usually includes the use of compression stockings or, in some cases, a minimally invasive outpatient procedure called venous ablation.Regarding the bruising being attributed to aspirin therapy, Sundick noted that many older adults take daily low-dose aspirin as part of a cardiovascular disease prevention strategy.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER"Aspirin works by inhibiting platelet function, reducing the risk of blood clots that could lead to heart attacks or strokes," he said."A well-known side effect of aspirin therapy is an increased tendency to bruise easily, even with minor trauma."Sundick said this is "common and generally not concerning," particularly considering aspirins "well-established cardiovascular benefits."Dr. Marc Siegel, Fox News' senior medical analyst, also commented on the bruising seen on Trumps hand."As you age, your skin can become more friable (fragile), less elastic and more prone to easy bruising," Siegel, who has not treated the president, told Fox News Digital."Aspirin interferes with platelet function, making this more likely."On a Thursday episode of "America Reports," Siegel noted that he found the medical update "reassuring," calling Trump's condition "not serious, completely benign and cosmetic.""It's expected for a man who's in his late 70s and standing on his feet all the time," Siegel added, noting that compression stockings and elevating the legs could help to reduce swelling and any potential discomfort. For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/healthThe doctor also said he "accepts the explanation" that Trump's hand bruising is caused by "vigorous handshaking.""I don't think there's anything hidden there at all," Siegel said.

'Don't fret' response to massive job losses in Virginia under Trump won't cut it for me
Virginians recently learned that our commonwealth has lost our spot as "Americas Top State for Business." One major factor was singled out as leading to the downgrade the widespread economic impact of DOGEs attacks on the jobs of thousands of Virginians.Ive always supported responsible efforts to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse as well as corruption. In the U.S. House of Representatives, I even led the bipartisan push to ban members of Congress and their spouses from trading individual stocks. I believe that our leaders have a responsibility to restore trust in our government, make sure taxpayer dollars are used efficiently, and keep more money in peoples pockets. But in the months since the Trump administration launched DOGE, Ive been hearing from Virginians across the political spectrum who have lost their jobs or are worried their jobs will be targeted next. And Im hearing from local business owners and contractors who are worried about their financial futures, as well as business leaders who are concerned about the long-term damage done to Virginia's economy; not just in northern Virginia, but in every corner of our commonwealth. We are home to more than 320,000 federal workers not even including the private-sector workers who support federal contracts or the small business owners who are seeing Virginians cut back on family budgets.LOOK BEYOND THE BIG APPLE'S SOCIALIST VICTORY TO FIND DEMOCRATIC PARTY LEADERS IN 2025It isnt just federal workers who are taking a hit as a result of workforce cuts. A recent University of Virginia studyprojectsthat more than 32,000 Virginia jobs will be lost over the course of 2025 in large part because of DOGE. These include federal jobs, manufacturing jobs, food service jobs real Virginians jobs across many industries. The new "Americas Top States for Business" rankings make one thing clear: the Trump administration's approach is not working for Virginia. This year, the results specifically cited the disproportionate impacts of the presidents actions surrounding federal job cuts, but we havent seen meaningful guidance from our statewide leaders for Virginians whose lives were upended.Earlier this year, our governor and lieutenant governor told Virginians who have lost their jobs to simply update their resumes and log on to LinkedIn. That isnt leadership.Virginias lieutenant governor, who is also asking Virginians to let her serve as their next governor, has repeatedly laughed off Virginians job losses. She offered these words of advice: "dont fret." I dont think Virginians in the throes of an unanticipated job search would call that leadership.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONI will never dismiss threats to Virginias economy. This years rankings make clear that Virginias economy remains under threat, and we need a governor who has a plan to build a more resilient economy. Virginians deserve a governor who will put Virginias economy first in the face of ongoing threats, no matter if its a Democrat or a Republican in the White House. If elected to serve as Virginias next governor, I will take action to make sure Virginia is the best place in the country to start or grow a business. I will focus on leveraging our commonwealths strengths to attract new investment. Not only will we champion economic development in every corner of Virginia, including our rural communities, but we will focus on the strengths that keep businesses here including our world-class community colleges and universities, our infrastructure, and our strong workforce.Whether we agree or disagree on every issue, I hope all Virginians can agree on the need to keep Virginias economy competitive. Protecting Virginias economy should be a bipartisan priority.I love Virginia, and thats why my husband and I are raising our three daughters here in the place where we grew up. I want to protect the financial security and opportunities of everyone who calls our commonwealth home. Thats why Ive focused on lowering costs for all Virginians, not making life harder or creating chaos and thats why Ive already announced myAffordable Virginia Planto lower health care, housing, and energy costs for Virginia families. If given the opportunity to serve Virginians as their next governor, I will put a plan in place on day one that is clear-eyed about the challenges ahead of us not for political gain, but because thats what the people of Virginia deserve at this moment of uncertainty.

SCOOP: House Republican campaign arm anchors Mamdani to potentially vulnerable Democrats
FIRST ON FOX: Republicans aren't wasting an opportunity to make democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani a cudgel to bash Democrats across the country. In the three weeks since his stunning victory in the New York City Democratic Party mayoral primary, Republicans have been relentless in trying to anchor Mamdani to Democrats who are running in competitive races in next year's midterms.Among those leading the way in the messaging effort are the team at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), which is the House GOP's campaign arm.The NRCC on Friday launched ads aiming to tie three House Democrats in New York and one in neighboring New Jersey to Mamdani, the 33-year-old Ugandan-born state assemblyman from the New York City borough of Queens.RNC CHAIR ARGUES MAMDANI FACE OF THE NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTYThe digital ads target Democratic Reps. Tom Suozzi, Laura Gillen, and Josh Riley of New York and Nellie Pou of New Jersey. All four lawmakers represent competitive House districts. The ads, which are backed by a modest buy, were shared first with Fox News Digital.Mamdani, who convincingly topped former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates last month to capture the New York City Democratic mayoral nomination and take a big step toward becoming the city's first Muslim and millennial mayor, is giving Republicans plenty of fodder.MAMDANI NYC MAYORAL PRIMARY VICTORY FURTHER INFLAMES LONGSTANDING DEMOCRATIC PARTY DIVIDESHe's proposed eliminating fares to ride New York City's vast bus system, making CUNY (City University of New York) "tuition-free," freezing rents on municipal housing, offering "free childcare" for children up to age 5 and setting up government-run grocery stores. Also fueling the Republican attacks are recent news items that have gone viral. They include a 2020 photo Mamdani posted online that shows him flipping off a statue of Christopher Columbus, stories about comments Mamdani made last December when he said as mayor he would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his recent comments in a cable news interview that "I have many critiques of capitalism."POTUS PUNDITRY: TRUMP WEIGHS IN ON MAMDANI-CUOMO NYC MAYORAL FACEOFF"Dangerous Socialist Zohran Mamdani is the new face of Tom Suozzi, Laura Gillen, Josh Riley, and Nellie Pou's Democrat Party, and it's no coincidence. If Democrats had their way, Mamdani's pro-criminal, open-borders, anti-law enforcement, and antisemitic agenda would be the law of the land," NRCC spokeswoman Maureen O'Toole argued in a statement to Fox News.Suozzi, who represents a district that's anchored just outside of New York City in suburban Long Island but includes a sliver of Queens, has said he "wholeheartedly" disagrees with parts of Mamdani's agenda.Gillen, who represents a neighboring district just outside of New York City in suburban Long Island, has said that Mamdani is "too extreme" to lead the nation's most populous city.Riley, who represents a suburban and rural district in New York State north of the city, has been criticized by the NRCC for not weighing in on Mamdani. The NRCC has also targeted Pou, who represents a district in the New Jersey suburbs of New York City, for failing to "call out" Mamdani.Democrats question the effectiveness of the GOP push. They argue that there's a world of difference between heavily blue New York City, where Democrats outnumber Republicans by a roughly six-to-one margin, and some key battleground states and swing districts in the city's suburbs and elsewhere across the country.Rep. Steve Cohen of Tennessee, a Democrat, told reporters the day after Mamdani's victory that "I love New York, but it's a very liberal place, and I don't know that you can necessarily apply that to the rest of the country."In the high-profile 2026 race to succeed retiring Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire, Republican candidate and former Sen. Scott Brown went up last week with a digital ad that edits a picture of Rep. Chris Pappas, the Democratic candidate in the race, alongside photos of Mamdani and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the progressive rock star who backed Mamdani.Pappas, speaking with Fox News Digital last week, said, "Republicans have spent tens of millions of dollars running attack ads against me through the years trying to paint me as someone that Im not.""People know me. They know the work that Ive been doing. They know that Im one of the most bipartisan members of the House of Representatives because I believe in solving problems and getting things done," Pappas said. "Im a New Hampshire Democrat. Im proud of my track record in Congress."

Republican introduces measure to ban autopen use when presidents sign certain items
Rep. Addison McDowell, R-N.C., has introduced a bill which would declare that engrossed bills, executive orders, pardons, and commutations may only be legally signed by the president, and an autopen device may not be used. The measure is called the "Ban on Inkless Directives and Executive Notarizations Act of 2025," or the BIDEN Act.The bill would amend current law to add: "Notwithstanding this section or any other provision of law, no person other than the President may lawfully sign an engrossed bill, Executive Order, or pardon or commutation, nor may automatic signing device, including an autopen, be used for such purpose."WHITE HOUSE INVESTIGATING BIDEN USE OF AUTOPEN IN SPRAWLING PROBE OF INCOMPETENT AND SENILE FORMER PRESIDENT"No engrossed bill, Executive Order, or pardon or commutation that was signed in violation of section 301 of title 3, United States Code, including any such an engrossed bill, Executive Order, or pardon or commutation signed prior to the effective date of this Act, may be considered to have any force or effect," the bill also declares. In a statement included in a press release about the bill, McDowell said, "The American people elect a President to run the country, not a cabal of woke staffers. Sadly, that is exactly what the American people received under Joe Biden."BIDEN DOES RARE INTERVIEW WITH NY TIMES TO QUELL AUTOPEN CONTROVERSY, BUT CRITICS RAGE OVER MEDIA FRAMING"While Joe Biden worried more about breaking glass ceilings as commander in chief, his legacy will forever be tied to the lack of oversight he provided to the presidential autopen. TheBIDEN Act will ensure that rogue bureaucrats can no longer take advantage of a mentally incompetent President to seize authority awarded to the Oval Office," the lawmaker said, according to the release.Former President Joe Biden has previously dismissed the notion that he did not make the decisions while serving as president.BIDEN DEFENDS CONTROVERSIAL AUTOPEN USE FOR MASS CLEMENCY DECISIONS IN NYT INTERVIEW: A WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE"Let me be clear: I made the decisions during my presidency. I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didnt is ridiculous and false," Biden said in part of a statement last month.Fox News Channel's Patrick Ward contributed to this report
