Raquel Rodriguez agrees with Charlotte Flair on age 'double standard' between male and female wrestlers
Charlotte Flair pushed back on what she believed was a double standard in the pro wrestling industry when it came to her age and any notion shes at the back end of her career. She pointed to several of her male colleagues, including Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, CM Punk and John Cena in a column for The Players' Tribune. She wrote that the next step for female competitors "isnt the same amount of TV segments, or main events, or titles or money or opportunities as men. The next big step is the same amount of years as men."CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMRaquel Rodriguez, who will be a part of the all-female premium live event, Evolution, on Sunday, told Fox News Digital in a recent interview she agreed with Flairs assessment and praised the legendary pro wrestler for her vulnerability and bravery for putting her heart on the line."I do agree with her," Rodriguez said. "I do agree there is a little bit of a double standard there. I do feel like, because we are women, we are told, at a certain age, 'You have to stop. At a certain age, you should be thinking about other things, having kids, getting married, whatever it is. At a certain age, you shouldnt be pushed in the main story anymore. You had your time."I do see something wrong with that because there are men on the other side that are aging gracefully, and aging like fine wine and so are the women. But they are getting used a little more and put in these situations where the women just have to keep trying to compete and constantly being put in that pressure cooker of performing and accelerating, and it is difficult."WWE STAR DREW MCINTYRE TALKS PUTTING HIMSELF UNDER THE MICROSCOPE TO GET BACK INTO SHAPE BEFORE RETURNRodriguez explained that with aging comes longer times to rest and recuperate, and the potential of performing like a gymnast in the ring lessens."It is difficult because, you know, with age also comes more need of rest and recuperation. And we cant do as many things like these beautiful gymnasts that are in NXT flipping in and outside of the ring," she said."Older women, they are not going to be able to accomplish those kinds of feats, but there is other ways and purposes that our superstars can continue to perform and provide for the WWE company, and I see that for all of our women."They are so talented, and it has taken so much time and so much hard work to build their start to where it is at. And I think they deserve to keep their start up there and to have it pushed even more if their work ethic and their stars is asking for it, yeah 100%."Rodriguez will be a part of Evolution this time around. She was still in the WWE Performance Center for the first all-female premium live event in 2016.She and Roxanne Perez will defend their tag-team titles in a fatal four-way match against Flair and Alexa Bliss, Sol Ruca and Zaria and Kairi Sane and Asuka. The event begins Sunday.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Trump attributed survival at Butler rally to 'hand of God': Author and witness reveals firsthand account
Nearly a year after the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump, journalist and author Salena Zito is speaking out about what she witnessed, and the personal conversations she had with Trump in the hours that followed."I see him grab his ear. I see the blood streak across his face," Zito recalled during an interview on the "Brain Kilmeade Show," Thursday. "I see him take himself down. That was my first indication that maybe he's okay. Or at least he's not as gravely wounded as I thought he might be because of the blood."Zito was in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13th of last year, when gunfire rang out at a Trump campaign rally. She had been scheduled to interview the president when the shots were fired by 20-year-old gunman Thomas Crooks.ONE YEAR AFTER TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT, BUTLER WIDOW DEMANDS ACCOUNTABILITY FROM SECRET SERVICEA bullet struck Trump in the upper ear, and several others were hit in the crowd, including firefighter Corey Comperatore, who died from his injuries.TRUMP CHIEF OF STAFF SUSIE WILES RECOUNTS BUTLER ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT, THOUGHT PRESIDENT WAS DEAD AT FIRSTIn her new book, "Butler: The Untold Story of the Near Assassination of Donald Trump and the Fight for America's Heartland," Zito shares her firsthand account of the historic day."I heard everything," she said of the chaotic moments after the shots. "Including his insistence to put his shoes on," which she described as "comic relief" in the tense aftermath.According to Zito, Trump called her the very next day to check on her and her family."He would go on to call me, it was a total of seven times that day," she told Kilmeade. "We had some powerful conversations."JOURNALIST WHO REFUSED TO DUCK DURING TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT REFLECTS ON BUTLER RALLY IN NEW BOOKShe said the president kept asking questions about the day, like why he decided to turn his head or face the chart onstage, a move which may have saved him from a far worse injury."He [Trump] comes to the conclusion, several times, that it was the hand of God," said Zito, who explained the president believed he had been left alive for a reason."He was spared because he has been given a higher purpose than to just be a candidate for president," she said of the emotional experience. "To be the best thing that he could possibly be for the country."In the moments immediately after the attack, Zito said Trump refused to be rushed off the stage, and that she chose to ask him about that decision.TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT AFTERMATH, REACTIONS FROM INNER CIRCLE REVEALED IN NEW BOOK"He's like, I wasn't Donald Trump in that moment. I represented the presidency of the United States," he told Zito. Trump went on to say he felt he needed to represent the "grit" and "exceptionalism" of the United States and prevent a potential panic in the crowd.Zito said he told her, "I needed people to know that we go on, and we will always go on no matter what."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Facts of Life star Lisa Whelchel's first marriage prepared her to find love again
"Facts of Life" star Lisa Whelchel found love twice. In 2019, the star said "I do" to psychologist Pete Harris. She was previously married to Pastor Steven Cauble from 1988 to 2012. They share three children."I would say the secret to my second marriage is learning from your first marriage," the 62-year-old told Fox News Digital.'THE WONDER YEARS' STAR DANICA MCKELLAR ON ESCAPING HOLLYWOOD 'SUPERFICIALITY'"For one thing, I was married for 23 years to my first husband. And Im so very, very grateful for so much in that relationship, including my three children. But I do think that [when] you get married young, theres a lot that youre working out, I think, in your first marriage. And so, I would say my current husband and I worked out a lot in our first marriage.""Now we know what to appreciate," Whelchel continued. "We know the pitfalls to avoid. We know how to have the conversations ahead of time. And I think we also knew really just what we wanted and what we needed before we got married."When the star isn't home surrounded by family, she's hitting the road. Whelchel is the host of "Collector's Call," where she encounters some unique and even odd pop culture collections and treasures owned by fans from across the country. The series has been airing on MeTV since 2019."The reason I was excited about hosting Collectors Call was not because Im a collector Im probably the opposite of a collector," Whelchel explained. "I like less is more. But I am fascinated by people, and Im very curious about what makes people tick. And there are no more interesting people in the world than collectors, and they all have a story. And every single item has a story. Thats what drew me in."This season, there was no shortage of the strange."Listen, there is no more unique collection than vintage weight-loss fads," she said.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER"The collector was in marketing, and he was fascinated with what you could get away with [selling] back in the day. Just put it on the label and there was nobody checking it. He has a bar of soap that claims to lather up your body, and it just washes the weight away. Im sure that sold very well. And then he had another item where it was a vitamin elixir that was good for the whole family to lift spirits. Well, it was because it was 24% alcohol.""There were so many items he had Its crazy," she said. "But I probably wouldve bought some of those as well, just hoping they worked."One item even brought her back to her childhood a still usable "jiggle" belt machine. She got to try it for "Collectors Call.""I was born in the 60s and my mom had one of those," said Whelchel. "I remember my cousin Tammy and I putting that thing on and jiggling around."It wasnt the only fitness fad Whelchel had tried over the years."I will say that I was asked to do an infomercial for some kind of product that, apparently, you could just sprinkle a little on top of whatever you were eating," she explained. "I dont think they said it took away the calories, but something to that claim. So, I thought, Well, yeah, not only would I give this a try, but if they'd pay me to hawk it, great! But I said, let me at least try it for three weeks. Im not going to sell something that doesnt work."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS"I ended up gaining weight," said Whelchel. "So obviously, I did not do that infomercial, but I was willing to give it a try."While Whelchel has never been a collector herself, she noted that theres a good reason why she, and many others, have connected with the series."I do think the reason that Collectors Call has really struck a nerve is the same reason why nostalgia is so popular," she said."Its because these are times right now where theres tension and our anxiety is up. And when were a child, were oblivious to whats going on in the world. We can just go outside, jump in some puddles, and have a moment of joy. And so, anything that brings us back to our childhood, I think, is an elixir to our soul.""It helps mitigate against the harsh realities of being an adult sometimes, especially in these times I hope [the show] brings them back to their own childhoods and, even more importantly, brings them back to that time of innocence and purity. I hope they experience less tension and anxiety so that they can have a dose of oxygen in their soul that helps them make it through another day."Whelchel loves to reminisce. She recalled working alongside one co-star on "The Facts of Life" who went on to be named "Sexiest Man Alive" twice."George Clooney was in three seasons [during] the later seasons [of The Facts of Life]," said Whelchel."I think what might be surprising is that he was cute back then, but there [wasnt] any kind of romance that was brewing on the set," she shared. "He was just like a big brother. I think it might surprise fans that hes really become who he is today.""Had I known he was going to become that, I probably wouldve worn makeup to the rehearsal hall more often!" she joked.WATCH: FACTS OF LIFE STAR LISA WHELCHEL SAYS GEORGE CLOONEY WAS LIKE A BIG BROTHERThe Oscar winner, 64, played handyman George Burnett in the hit sitcom from 1985 to 1987, and just like a big brother, he relished pulling pranks on the all-female cast."Oh, he was so much fun to work with, always the prankster," she recalled. "And it was really nice. I mean, after so many years of just estrogen-filled rooms, it was nice to have a little dose of testosterone."The former Mouseketeer previously admitted to Fox News Digital that, after filming 200 episodes of "The Facts of Life" and later having three babies in three years, she forgot that her character once kissed Clooney's."They say the memory goes out with the placenta," she remarked at the time. However, one role Whelchel has been loving these days is that of grandma.JESSICA BIEL SHARES RARE GLIMPSE INTO MONTANA FAMILY LIFE WITH JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AFTER LEAVING HOLLYWOOD"Its been incredible," she gushed. "It helps that I have two of the most incredible grandchildren that ever walked the face of the Earth. So, its not hard to be a grandma to those amazing little kiddos.""I know I had three kids, and they all turned out different," she said. "Theyre from the same set of parents. But it is amazing how these two kids they dont look alike, they dont act alike. They have different personalities. So, it just makes every day so much fun with them."

MSNBCs Psaki struggles to fill Maddows lofty shoes, trails CNN in key demo through two months in new slot
It has been a mixed bag for MSNBCs Jen Psaki, two months into her new gig.Psaki, the press secretary for former President Joe Biden who has insisted she never witnessed signs of decline while she worked for him saw an increased role as part of MSNBCs overhaul when programming changes were announced earlier this year.Psaki took over MSNBCs coveted 9 p.m. ET timeslot on Tuesday through Fridays in May as "The Rachel Maddow Show" returned to only airing on Mondays. Maddow had temporarily returned to airing five nights a week during PresidentDonald Trumpsfirst 100 days in office."The Briefing with Jen Psaki" averaged 1.1 million total viewers from its May 6 debut through July 3, losing 44% of the 1.8 million that Maddow and a few January shows hosted by Alex Wagner pulled in at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday through Fridays throughout 2025.FOX NEWS LEAVES RIVALS IN THE DUST WITH HISTORIC Q2 RATINGS, POSTS VIEWERSHIP WINS OVER ABC, NBC, CBSPsaki wasnt expected to compete with Maddow, who is MSNBCs biggest star by a wide margin, from a ratings standpoint off the bat. However, "Alex Wagner Tonight," which aired in the 9 p.m. ET timeslot on Tuesday through Fridays throughout 2024, also topped Psaki."Alex Wagner Tonight" averaged 1.2 million total viewers from May 6 through July 3 last year, which is 17% more than Psakis 2025 viewership.Psaki also shed "Alex Wagner Tonight" viewers among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults aged 25-54, as "The Briefing" has averaged only 90,000 viewers from the critical group.Last year, "Alex Wagner Tonight" averaged 123,000 demo viewers from May 6 through July 3. But MSNBC aired three primetime specials during that time and Maddows presence on the panel shows significantly boosted "Alex Wagner Tonight" ratings among both total viewers and the demo.Through two months, Psaki has drawn less than half the audience of Fox News Channels 9 p.m. ET offering, "Hannity," which has averaged 2.9 million viewers since May 6. Psaki has managed to thump timeslot competition on ratings-challenged CNN among total viewers, as "The Source with Kaitlan Collins" has averaged a dismal 543,000 viewers since "The Briefing" debuted on MSNBC.However, the former Biden press secretary is trailing CNN in the key demo.BIDEN-ERA WHITE HOUSE REPORTERS EXPRESS DISBELIEF ON KARINE JEAN-PIERRE'S SUDDEN PARTY SWITCH"The Source with Kaitlan Collins" outdrew MSNBCs "The Briefing" by managing 108,000 demo viewers on Tuesdays through Fridays since Psaki moved to 9 p.m. ET.Fox News "Hannity" averaged 344,000 demo viewers during the same time period.Psaki also trails cable news competitors among younger viewers aged 18-49, averaging 62,000 compared to 219,000 for "Hannity" and 70,000 for CNNs "The Source."MSNBC insiders point to "The Briefing" being the networks No. 3 most-watched daily program despite only being on-air for two months as a sign that Psaki will find success at 9 p.m. ET."The Briefing" has built on the audience of its lead-in, "All in with Chris Hayes," which "Alex Wagner Tonight" failed to do in 2024. This has occurred as MSNBC has lost viewers overall.Psaki improved in her second month in the timeslot, as "The Briefing" averaged 973,000 total viewers in May compared to a smidge over one million in June for an 8% uptick and gained 17% in the demo. Despite the loss to CNN, "The Briefing" is MSNBCs No. 2 program in the demo, while Wagners show was the networks eighth best in the critical category during the same time period last year.JEN PSAKI, THE EX-BIDEN FLACK WHO DEFENDED HIS MENTAL FITNESS, LAUNCHES EXPANDED ROLE AT MSNBCPsaki served as Biden's first press secretary from January 2021 until May 2022, and her defense of the White House made her popular with MSNBC progressives before she landed at the network.CNN also had discussions about bringing her on board. The launch of "The Briefing with Jen Psaki" coincided with a news cycle that wasnt particularly flattering for former Biden officials, as anticipation for the book "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again," put questions about Bidens fitness for office at the forefront. It remains to be seen if Psaki can fill the shoes of Maddow, but the latter certainly hurt MSNBC by deciding "The Rachel Maddow Show" would only air on Mondays. Make America Beautiful Again: Lets restore our natural legacy from sea to shining sea
Americas natural grandeur, wide-open spaces and vast frontiers have inspired patriots for generations. As Americans pushed west, we learned to work with the land. We established national parks to protect the diverse geography that spans the nation and fuel economic prosperity. And we united around the desire to conserve Americas beauty and natural resources for generations to come. But for the last several decades, the environment has become engulfed in partisan culture wars. As a result, our nations leaders have increasingly failed to enact durable, long-lasting, and balanced environmental policies. A subject matter that once transcended partisan politics and brought leaders from all sides together has seen little to no substantial progress in the modern political era. These years of mismanagement, regulatory overreach and neglect have left Americas natural resources in crisis. Weve seen glimmers of hope with overwhelming bipartisan support for conservation legislation like the "Great American Outdoors Act." But issues with broad support nationwide remain trapped in partisan gridlock.'AMERICA FIRST' NATIONAL PARKS PLAN FROM TRUMP SLAPS HIGHER FEES ON FOREIGN TOURISTSToday, the National Park System is in $23 billion of debt. Poor forest management is exacerbating already catastrophic wildfires, costing our country between $394 billion and $893 billion annually. Unnecessarily stringent restrictions are stripping hunting and recreational access to public lands. Our nations ecosystems and wildlife populations are in a state of disrepair. And Americas water infrastructure no longer provides our agricultural industry and communities with the resources they need to flourish. It should have never come to this and its time to right the ship. We are dedicated to putting every American first by prioritizing conservation, restoring our lands and waters and protecting our nations outdoor heritage. That is why President Donald Trump signed an executive order to"Make America Beautiful Again." This order is a monumental first step to restoring Americas natural beauty through bold leadership, innovation and commonsense policies.GREEN ENERGY ZEALOTS HAND AMERICA'S ENEMIES THE ULTIMATE WEAPONThe order establishes the Make America Beautiful Again Commission, which will give a politically diverse set of elected leaders, experts, nonprofits and other decision-makers with a wide variety of backgrounds a seat at the table. The commission will then submit a comprehensive strategy outlining recommended actions for achieving long-term conservation success. The Make America Beautiful Again Commission will bring federal and state officials, private sector leaders, conservation organizations and tribal governments together to develop policy strategies for conservation. This executive order turns the nation's attention to the protection of our natural beauty and the expansion of our outdoor heritage. This commission provides an opportunity for us to protect water resources, restore forests and natural habitats, reduce waste and pollution, recover Americas wildlife, enhance hunting, fishing, and outdoor recreation on public lands, building environmental resilience and security, and advance conservation education and global leadership. The purpose of establishing this commission is to develop commonsense solutions and kick-start action that all Americans can agree is much needed and long overdue. Getting that job done requires bipartisan, inter-agency partnerships bringing folks together to discuss their personal experiences and insights regarding environmental efforts, working to reach compromises and forming unlikely alliances around our shared love of nature.AMERICAN FLAG HUNG UPSIDE DOWN IN YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK IN PROTEST OVER LAYOFFSAmericas conservation legacy has faded over the last few decades but our pride for our nations beauty lives on.As we celebrate the kickoff of Americas 250th birthday, we are not only filled with pride and patriotism for this great nation, we are also reminded of our great responsibility to leave this democracy more beautiful than we found it.We understand that it is our duty to conserve our natural resources, to be good stewards of our land, and to create long-lasting policies thatactuallywork for the environment, the economy and the American people. From sea to shining sea, the natural majesty of the United States of America must be protected and passed down to future generations. We are kickstarting the restoration of our countrys conservation legacy with this executive order. But the real work starts now as we come together to do all that we can to preserve our natural beauty, conserve our natural resources and Make America Beautiful Again.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM BENJI BACKER

An extra fee added to a check at a restaurant left one diner shocked and fired up people on the internet, too.A Georgia man shared a photo of his receipt to Instagram Threads, asking, "WTF is a living wage fee?" following dinner in mid-June.On the bill was a $13 Reuben sandwich, a $12 burger, two sides of fries for $4 each and an 18% "living wage fee" that tacked on an additional $5.94 bringing his total, with $1.81 in tax, to $40.75.MAN CONFRONTS WOMAN WITH FORBIDDEN DOG INSIDE COFFEE SHOP, SPARKING HEATED DEBATEBelow the total was a disclaimer from the unnamed restaurant saying, "Living wage fee of 18% added to each dine-in check. This fee goes directly to staff payroll and provides a living wage to our team."The notice also said that any tips given would be pooled and distributed among the "entire team."The post received over 500 comments and was shared across the internet, including on Reddit. People debated the levy and brought up similarly controversial policies, such as "kitchen appreciation" fees and health and safety surcharges during the COVID-19 pandemic.Fox News Digital reached out to the original poster for comment.MCDONALD'S PRICES FROM 1991 IGNITE DISCUSSION AMONG NOSTALGIC MILLENNIALS: 'IT TASTED BETTER, TOO'"The business owner should be embarrassed to even have that on the bill," one person on Reddit said. "If they can't pay the staff, don't do business. Your business skills are clearly not good to not be able to pay the workers sufficiently."One woman on Threads said, "It means the business owner is too cheap to pay his employees adequately, so he's making you pay it.""It means I'm never eating at that restaurant again," added another man.Salar Sheik, a restaurant consultant based in Los Angeles, understood the frustration and said it's important to consider the guest's perspective as well as the profitability goal of restaurants."Guests should feel they're receiving value," Sheik told Fox News Digital. "Underpricing menu items and then adding a service charge or percentage on top can leave them feeling misled or cheated."It's also not a long-term solution, he said.RESTAURANT CONSULTANT REVEALS WHAT CUSTOMERS SHOULD NEVER DO WHEN DINING OUT"A better approach is to reassess your menu pricing and cost of goods to ensure your staff can earn a living wage," Sheik said. "Unfortunately, many restaurants avoid that hard work and use these fees as a shortcut."Many servers also weighed in with thoughts on the system. One former server said, "The living wage and pooled tips would've boiled my blood.""I had no trouble earning $200-$300 in tips per shift by providing excellent customer service, meaning I was already earning WELL ABOVE a living wage just by doing my job," the person commented on Reddit.Others argued the customers would be covering the cost of payroll either way and said it didn't matter to them whether food prices were raised or a surcharge was added."I don't care where the money goes," one Redditor wrote."To pay the staff, to pay the electric bill, to pay rent none of that is my business," the person added. "I'm a customer, not a restaurant manager."CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTEROne woman on Threads said the surcharge was actually more transparent than if the restaurant simply raised food prices."Y'all been asking for no tipping, this is what it looks like," she added, referring to a recent push to eliminate tips and raise the minimum hourly wage for restaurant workers. In some states, tipped workers make as little as $2.13 an hour."The customer always pays the wages," another Instagram user said. "Either in tips, service fee, or in increased food prices. At least this way you know you don't have to tip extra."Many said they wouldn't tip at all if they saw the living wage charge on their bill. For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyleOthers noted the fee must be made clear before customers sit down to eat which the restaurant did, according to another comment on the original Threads post.A woman shared what she said was the establishment's menu.It read: "100% of living wage fees are used for payroll. Rather than just increasing prices to pay staff more, this increase is guaranteed to go fully toward the staff and provides a wage to all employees that they can rely on for a steady income."It continued, "We value each employee as part of our team and genuinely believe this newly implemented system is the future of our industry's survival, or at least ours."
