WWW.FOXNEWS.COMCountdown to Diddy's fate begins as judge sets date for sentencing after split verdictJudge Arun Subramanian set Sean "Diddy" Combs' sentencing for Oct. 3.Right before a 2pm ET hearing on Tuesday, the defense and prosecution agreed on the date previously suggested by the federal judge. The defense had initially pushed for an expedited sentencing after Combs' bail package was denied and even offered up Sept. 22 as a potential date in their initial letter submitted to the court. However, Judge Subramanian ultimately approved the Oct. 3 date. The parties also submitted new dates for pre-sentencing reports and post-trial motions. Any post-trial motion by the defense must be submitted before July 30. The government will then have until Aug. 20 to respond. Diddy's pre-sentence investigation report will be submitted on or before Aug. 29, with a final report released on Sept. 18.DIDDY COULD FACE SUBSTANTIAL PRISON TIME AFTER GUILTY VERDICT, WARNS OJ SIMPSON'S LAWYERDiddy's jury found the rapper not guilty of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He was found guilty on both counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.Diddy could spend a maximum of 20 years behind bars, 10 years for each count he was convicted of. However, the prosecution suggested the rapper be kept behind bars somewhere between four and five years.Diddy's judge denied the rapper's bail package following his partial acquittal. Judge Subramanian claimed Diddy's violence within his personal relationships, that Combs owned up to, was a contributing factor to his reasoning for keeping the rapper behind bars.According to the federal judge, there would be no way to guarantee the safety of others should the musician be released.LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? After deliberating for an hour on July 2, the jury returned all five verdicts.Jurors began deliberating on Monday, June 30, after hearing seven weeks of trial testimony. The prosecution chose to rest the case on June 24. Special Agent Joseph Cerciello was the final witness to take the stand for the prosecution, making him the 34th person to testify. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMWNBA official believes players 'have zero idea what real media exposure is,' new book saysThe WNBA is more popular than it's ever been, but apparently, one WNBA official believes the players don't know how to handle it.USA Today columnist Christine Brennan launched her new book, "On Her Game: Caitlin Clark and the Revolution in Women's Sports," on Tuesday, and in it, she highlighted the behind-the-scenes of her back-and-forth with DiJonai Carrington that prompted a scathing statement from the Women's National Basketball Players Association in September.Carrington poked Caitlin Clark in a game earlier last season, and many on social media believed that she may have done it on purpose and laughed about it afterward.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMIn a move she described as "journalism 101," Brennan asked Carrington about the incident and whether she made fun of it later on she denied doing both. However, another one of Clark's rivals, DeWanna Bonner, confronted Brennan just minutes after her back and forth with Carrington, Brennan claimed.Bonner, who was Carrington's teammate at the Connecticut Sun at the time, approached Brennan, saying that she had "attacked" and "disrespected" Carrington. She used both accusations twice each.Brennan then discussed the situation with members of the Sun, then-head coach Stephanie White (who is now Clark's coach with the Indiana Fever), and a WNBA official, who said her questions were "fine."Brennan revealed that the WNBA official said to her that as long as questions are not "vulgar, rude or inappropriate," then they pass the official's "test."But then, the official dropped a bomb on Brennan.FEVER-WINGS 'SEQUEL' RELOCATED TO 20,000-SEAT ARENA AS CAITLIN CLARK, PAIGE BUECKERS SET TO FACE EACH OTHER"Unfortunately, most of our players have zero idea what real media exposure is," the official said, according to the book. "They dont know what real coverage is, they have been shielded at college and then they come to the WNBA not knowing what real questions are. Frankly, our players just dont get it."Brennan said the official "requested their name not be used due to the sensitive nature of the issue."Neither the WNBA nor the WNBPA have responded to Fox News Digital's requests for comment regarding the official's reported sentiments. In her book, Brennan also wrote, "A top WNBA official told me this happens everywhere. Why are our players so surprised. Why are they not prepared for it?"Brennan said Carrington also took issue with reporters, including herself, the next day, claiming they were "talking s---" about NaLyssa Smith, her partner who just so happened to be on the Fever. Brennan claimed the two other reporters were simply discussing "a bit of a Fever strategy that had just been noticed on the court."Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Comments 0 Shares 28 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMBricks made from recycled coffee grounds reduce emissions and costsWas it a coffee lover or hater who came up with this innovative idea? What if your morning coffee could help build the next generation of eco-friendly homes? That's exactly what researchers in Australia are doing: turning leftover coffee grounds into bricks. These bricks from recycled coffee grounds aren't just a quirky experiment. They're strong, sustainable, and could seriously cut down on construction emissions and costs. Here's how your daily brew is becoming the foundation for greener buildings.Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy ReportGet my best tech tips, urgent security alerts, and exclusive deals delivered straight to your inbox. Plus, youll get instant access to my Ultimate Scam Survival Guide - free when you join myCYBERGUY.COM/NEWSLETTER.At Swinburne University of Technology, researchers found a creative way to cut both construction emissions and material costs by making bricks from recycled coffee grounds. Instead of letting all that coffee waste go to landfills, they partnered with local coffee shops to collect spent grounds straight from espresso machines. Then, by blending the coffee waste with natural clay and an alkali activator, they developed a recipe for low-emission bricks that are not only more sustainable but also faster and cheaper to produce than traditional clay ones.Coffee is the worlds second most popular beverage, beaten only by tea. As such, there are approximately two and a quarter billion cups of coffee consumed daily. If you average out the espressos, cappuccinos, and americanos, then each cup brews using roughly eleven grams of freshly ground coffee. However, that leads to over nine million tonnes of coffee bean grounds. In turn, this generates an estimated eighteen million tonnes of damp, burnt byproduct dumped into landfills every single year. So, there is an abundance of supply, but how can coffee grounds be more efficient than traditional clay bricks? This innovative method of using spent coffee grounds drastically reduces the energy needed to mold bricks. Even low-quality traditional clay bricks must be baked in a kiln at over 900 degrees Celsius. These new coffee bricks only need to be cooked at 200 degrees Celsius. Thats an 80 percent reduction in energy usage, meaning that these bricks are significantly more efficient for both the environment and manufacturing costs. The lead scientist, Dr. Wong, claimed,"Its lighter on energy, faster to produce, and designed to reduce electricity-related CO emissions by up to 80 percent per unit."Not only are the manufacturing costs lower, but experts claim these coffee bricks are remarkably durable. According to Green Brick, they double "the Australian minimum standard for strength."In June, Swinburne University of Technology took a major step forward by signing an IP licensing deal with Australian company Green Brick. This partnership paves the way for using bricks made from recycled coffee grounds in real-world construction projects. Green Brick founder Philip Ng explained,"For the last century, materials have been judged by one thing: cost per square meter. But in the next chapter, we'll judge them by carbon, transparency, and circularity, and those metrics favor a new product."While Swinburne's team is transforming coffee waste, others around the world are exploring similar paths. In London, a group of researchers has developed "sugarcrete," a bio-brick made from sugarcane waste. As these kinds of innovations gain traction, recycled organic materials are starting to look like a practical and scalable alternative for the construction industry. It turns out your coffee habit might be more powerful than you think, not just for waking you up, but for building a cleaner future. Bricks from recycled coffee grounds are a creative solution to two big problems: construction pollution and coffee waste. As more researchers and companies get behind ideas like this, the future of sustainable building is looking a lot more grounded and a little more caffeinated.Would you live in a home built from recycled materials like coffee grounds or sugarcane waste? WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTrump suggests border crackdown is 'saving a lot of money' after stark drop from Biden era crossingsPresident Donald Trump praised the billions of dollars in border security and immigration efforts included in the so-called "big, beautiful bill" he signed into law last week though he suggested Tuesday the administration may not need to spend as much on enforcement efforts there as previously thought.Speaking to reporters at the White House Tuesday afternoon, Trump touted the billions of dollars approved in the Republican-led spending package, including billions in funding to turbocharge the hardline immigration crackdown his administration has prioritized in his second White House term.Among other things, the law includes $45 billion for the construction of new immigration detention centers, and roughly $30 billion in spending to fund Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations including new spending on transportation, for the maintenance of ICE facilities and to support the hiring of an estimated 10,000 additional deportation officers.Trump told reporters Tuesday that his administration's border crackdown could allow them to further trim spending at the border, reiterating an earlier claim that "zero" migrants entered the U.S. last month.WHAT'S ACTUALLY IN TRUMP'S BIG BEAUTIFUL BILLHe touted the spending on border security, though he noted, "I don't think we're going to need so much of it [there], because we had zero come in last month," he said, in apparent reference to border crossings."So I'm not sure how much of it we want to spend.""You may think about that," he said. "You may actually think about saving a lot of money because the wall has been largely built, and it obviously worked."Since taking office in January, Trump has embraced an aggressive immigration agenda, prioritizing border security efforts, massively expanding ICE raids, quickly deporting certain migrants, and attempting to end birthright citizenship protections for migrants born in the U.S. by way of executive order, among other things. In touting the "zero" border crossings, Trump appears to be referencing a June 17 report from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).That report is the most recent publicly available data provided by the federal agency, which said it released zero illegal immigrants into the U.S. during the last 30-day period. That's a stark drop from the Biden administration, and the previous month. The number of border encounters also decreased, CBP said, with U.S. Border Patrol officials reporting only 8,725 encounters with illegal immigrants attempting to enter the U.S. in May, compared to 117,905 such encounters in May 2024 under the Biden administration.Trump did not immediately detail more specifics on immigration enforcement efforts funded by the Republican spending bill. But he used the moment to excoriate the Biden administration and Democrats for what he criticized as lax border policies and which he suggested Tuesday that other countries had sought to exploit under his predecessor's White House tenure.SENATE REPUBLICANS RAM TRUMP'S 'BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL' THROUGH KEY TEST VOTEBiden, Trump said Tuesday, allowed people to enter the U.S. "just totally unchecked. Unchecked, unvetted, open borders.""The whole world was dumped into our country from prisons, from gangs, from mental institutions," Trump claimed. It was not immediately clear what country or asylums Trump was referring to, and he did not elaborate further."We have many people walking the streets, walking in areas that we don't know anything about that came out of insane asylums," he said."And it's amazing the job that you and Tom Homan are doing, by the way," Trump said, turning to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem."But, we have to get them out, and we have no choice. And we are getting them out."Trumps remarks on Tuesday came as he hosted Cabinet leaders at the White House for the first time since April. It also comes as his enforcement campaign has touched off a mixed response from the American public.Trump's approval rating on immigration dipped to a new low in a Quinnipiac poll released late last month, with a more than 56% majority of U.S. voters saying they disapprove of how ICE is doing its job.Nearly two-thirds of U.S. voters, or 64%, also said they prefer giving most immigrants a pathway to legal status, the survey found.0 Comments 0 Shares 39 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMKamala Harris aide urged 'The View' hosts to ask again after VP flubbed question on differences with BidenFormer Vice President Kamala Harris' aide implored the co-hosts of "The View" to try asking Harris a second time about what she would have done differently from Joe Biden during the October 2024 interview on the ABC show, according to a new book."As you showed the famous clip there on The View,' she gives that answer, and our book reports her aides backstage, head in their hands. They try to get the hosts to actually do the question again, to hopefully revise her answer, which she never does," Josh Dawsey of the Wall Street Journal told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Tuesday, explaining that Harris was unwilling to differentiate herself from Biden.Dawsey, Washington Post reporter Isaac Arnsdorf and New York Times reporter Tyler Pager's new book, "2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America," was released on Tuesday.Harris sat down with the co-hosts of "The View" in October 2024, as liberal host Sunny Hostin asked the former vice president if there was anything she would have done differently than Biden over the course of their administration to date.JOE AND JILL BIDEN FIRE BACK ON 'THE VIEW' AGAINST ACCUSATIONS OF HEALTH COVER-UP, CALL STORIES 'WRONG'Harris responded, "there is not a thing that comes to mind." Her response quickly went viral and was widely viewed as a misstep, given Biden's unpopularity and Harris passing up a chance to create some respectful distance.Hostin initially asked Harris about the biggest specific difference between a potential Harris presidency and Biden's presidency. The then-vice president said the two were obviously two different people and said she planned to focus on home healthcare. The new book explains that Harris aide Stephanie Cutter asked two of the co-hosts to try asking Harris the question again."Backstage on The View's set in Manhattan, Rob Flaherty, a deputy campaign manager, put his head into his hands and swore. During the next commercial break, Stephanie Cutter went to cohosts Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro to ask them to try the question again, but Harris didn't get a second chance. After the interview, Harris knew she'd messed up and asked how big the problem was," the authors wrote.SUNNY HOSTIN FEELS 'TERRIBLE' ABOUT KAMALA HARRIS FUMBLING HER VIRAL QUESTION ABOUT DIFFERENCES WITH BIDENAn adviser said her answer on the liberal ABC talkshow was "the defining error of the campaign," the authors reported.Harris didn't give the answer she prepared with her aides, which according to the authors, praised Biden and emphasized that she didn't want to look back and critique their administration. The prepared answer also acknowledged that she was her own person. Her aides also encouraged her to mention that she planned to appoint a Republican to her cabinet, which the former vice president did mention towards the end of the interview.
