WWW.FOXNEWS.COMFormer Houston appointee claims flood-ravaged Camp Mystic is 'Whites-only' in viral videoA former appointee to a Houston city board recently came under fire for claiming that a Texas summer camp devastated by flooding was "White-only, conservative [and] Christian."Sade Perkins, a former member of the Houston Food Insecurity Board, made the unverified claims about Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas, in a TikTok video this weekend. The office of Houston Mayor John Whitmire confirmed to Fox News Digital that Perkins posted the video. She was appointed by former Mayor Sylvester Turner in 2023, and her term expired in January 2025.In her video, Perkins began by predicting that she was "probably gonna get canceled for this."CAMP MYSTIC DIRECTOR DIES WHILE TRYING TO SAVE KIDS DURING TEXAS FLOODING"But Camp Mystic is a Whites-only girls Christian camp," Perkins continued. "They don't even have a token Asian, they don't have a Token Black person, it is a all White, White-only conservative Christian camp.""If you ain't White, you ain't right," she claimed. "You ain't getting in, you ain't going, period."Perkins added, "It's not to say that we don't want the girls to be found, whatever girls that are missing but you best believe, especially in today's political climate, if this were a group of Hispanic girls.this would not be getting this type of coverage that they're getting. No one would give a f--k."The former appointee said that she intended "no shade" for the girls who were missing or killed due to the flood, and said that she "hope[s] they all get found," but suggested that there was too much sympathy for them."They want you to have sympathy for these people. They want to get out of your bed and to come out of your home and to go find these people and to donate your money to go to find these people," Perkins said in the video.REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN REUNITES WITH DAUGHTERS AFTER TEXAS CAMP FLOODING, THANKS COUNTLESS HEROES"Meanwhile, they are deporting your family members. Meanwhile, they're setting up concentration camps and prisons for your family members. And I need you all to keep that in mind before you all get out there and put on your rain boots and go find these little girls."Speaking to Fox News, Whitmire's office said that Perkins would not be reappointed to the board, and called her comments "deeply inappropriate.""The comments shared on social media are deeply inappropriate and have no place in a decent society, especially as families grieve the confirmed deaths and the ongoing search for the missing," the statement from the mayor's office read."Mayor John Whitmire will not reappoint her and is taking immediate steps to remove her permanently from the board."At least 80 deaths have been confirmed from the catastrophic flood as of Sunday, a large number being children. At least 10 campers from Camp Mystic are still missing.Fox News Digital's Kyle Schmidbauer contributed to this report.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 11 مشاهدة 0 معاينة

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMNationals fire manager Dave Martinez, GM Mike Rizzo amid team strugglesThe Washington Nationals fired manager Dave Martinez and general manager Mike Rizzo on Sunday in a large organizational shakeup amid team struggles. The move, which was reported by ESPN, comes just hours after the Nats fell to the Boston Red Sox, 6-4, which was a sweep at Nationals Park this weekend.Washington has been at the bottom of the NL East division for quite some time, owning a 37-53 record now with the loss on Sunday. And while this loss was a close one, the Nationals were blown out at their home park, 11-2 and 10-3, in the first two games of the series.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe team is now 2-10 in June, where theyve struggled mightily at getting runs across the plate, averaging just 2.5 per game.Washington possesses a very young team, but its a talented group that hasnt been taking the strides ownership wants to see."On behalf of our family and the Washington Nationals organization, I first and foremost want to thank Mike and Davey for their contributions to our franchise and our city," principal owner Mark D. Lerner said in a statement. "Our family is eternally grateful for their years of dedication to the organization, including their roles in bringing a World Series trophy to Washington, D.C. While we are appreciative of their past successes, the on-field performance has not been where we or our fans expect it to be. This is pivotal time for our Club, and we believe a fresh approach and new energy is the best course of action for our team moving forward."ANGELS MANAGER RON WASHINGTON STEPS AWAY INDEFINITELY DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNSThere have been times, too, this season when Martinez has gotten fiery when asked about the offensive struggles. After losing to the Miami Marlins last month, which pushed the Nats losing streak to seven straight games, Martinez made a bold statement when asked a question by a reporter."It's never on coaching. Never on coaching. Coaches work their asses off every single day. We're not going to finger-point here and say it's coaches. It's never on the coaches. They work hard. The message is clear. All the work is done prior. So sometimes, they have to go out there and play the game. It's always been about the players. Always," he said, per ESPN.On Sunday, the Nationals left 15 runners on base, failing to get timely hits to salvage a game in the series. With the All-Star ahead after this week of games, the Nationals were quick to move on from Martinez and Rizzo, who were both pivotal pieces in getting the teams World Series championship in 2019.Martinez was manager when the team won its first World Series, but the team started to rebuild after that. Rizzo traded young star Juan Soto to the San Diego Padres, along with Josh Bell, in August 2022.The deal yielded prospects Robert Hassell III, CJ Abrams, MacKenzie Gore and James Wood all of which are making an impact on the current Nationals. Jarlin Susana, who was also in the deal, remains in the minors. But the results on the field have not been the same since that 2019 season, as the Nationals have not been higher than fourth in the NL East and have failed to reach the postseason in the last five seasons.Mike DeBartolo, the teams senior vice president and assistant general manager, has been named interim general manager, while the team will make an announcement on Monday to determine who the interim manager will be.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 16 مشاهدة 0 معاينة

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTrump dismisses Musk's political ambitions as 'ridiculous' in sharp rebukePresident Donald Trump slammed former first buddy Elon Musk for starting a third political party, saying such parties have "never worked" while also calling the move "ridiculous."Trump spoke with reporters before boarding Air Force 1 in Bedminster, New Jersey, when he was asked about Musks move to start a third party."I think its ridiculous to start a third party," Trump said from the tarmac. "We have a tremendous success with the Republican Party. The Democrats have lost their way, but its always been a two-party system, and I think starting a third party just adds to confusion."It really seems to have been developed for two parties," the president continued. "Third parties have never worked. So, he can have fun with it, but I think its ridiculous."ELON MUSK LAUNCHES AMERICA PARTY AFTER TRUMP SIGNS HISTORIC SPENDING BILL: 'WASTE & GRAFT'Musk announced the launching of a new political party called the "America Party" on his social media platform X on Saturday. The entrepreneur called the formation of the party a direct response to a corrupt political establishment that no longer represents the American people. The announcement followed a viral July 4 poll on X, where Musk asked whether voters wanted independence from what he called the "two-party (some would say uniparty) system."ELON MUSK SAYS US IS RULED BY 'PORKY PIG PARTY' AS TRUMP DEFENDS HIS VISION AGAINST FORMER ALLY'S CRITICISMOver 1.2 million votes were cast, with 65.4% saying "yes.""By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it," Musk posted Saturday. "When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom."A short time after his gaggle with reporters, Trump turned to Truth Social to express concerns over Musk, while giving insight into what may have led to the two parting ways."I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely off the rails, essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States - The System seems not designed for them," the president said. "The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds!"Republicans, on the other hand, are a smooth running machine, that just passed the biggest Bill of its kind in the History of our Country," Trump continued. "It is a Great Bill but, unfortunately for Elon, it eliminates the ridiculous Electric Vehicle (EV) Mandate, which would have forced everyone to buy an Electric Car in a short period of time."WOULD DONALD TRUMP HAVE WON THE 2024 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION WITHOUT ELON MUSK'S HELP?Trump said he has been "strongly opposed" to an EV mandate from the very beginning, and the new bill allows consumers to buy whatever type of vehicle they want, whether it is electric, gas, or hybrid-powered."I have campaigned on this for two years and, quite honestly, when Elon gave me his total and unquestioned Endorsement, I asked him whether or not he knew that I was going to terminate the EV Mandate - It was in every speech I made, and in every conversation I had," Trump said. "He said he had no problems with that - I was very surprised!"Trump also said Musk asked a close friend of his to run NASA, but the president took issue with it when he found out that friend was a "blue blooded Democrat" who never contributed to a Republican."I also thought it inappropriate that a very close friend of Elon, who was in the Space Business, run NASA, when NASA is such a big part of Elons corporate life," he said. "My Number One charge is to protect the American Public!"Musk chose to establish a new political party after expressing grave concerns with the president's "Big, Beautiful Bill," which was signed into law on Friday at the White House. The sweeping $3.3 trillion legislation includes tax cuts, infrastructure spending and stimulus measures and has drawn criticism from fiscal conservatives and libertarians. Though Musk did not reference the bill directly in his America Party posts, the timing suggests rising friction between the billionaire and the president. Musk has previously warned that unchecked spending by both parties threatens the long-term health of the economy.TRUMP NOT INTERESTED IN TALKING TO MUSK: 'ELON'S TOTALLY LOST IT'The new party, according to Musks posts, will target a few key seats in Congress. The goal is to create a swing bloc powerful enough to hold the balance of power and block what Musk sees as the worst excesses of both Republicans and Democrats.Third parties have traditionally had a difficult time gaining ground in American politics as the system is built for two dominant parties. With the Electoral College, winner-take-all elections and strict ballot access laws, outsiders cannot meaningfully compete. Even when a third-party candidate catches fire, it rarely lasts beyond a single election cycle. One of the biggest third-party efforts in recent history was Ross Perots 1992 run.He earned nearly 19% of the popular vote as an independent but didnt win a single Electoral College vote. It was the closest a third-party candidate got to the White House after President Teddy Roosevelt's famed Bull Moose Party run in 1912 against his onetime protg, William Howard Taft.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPOthers, like Ralph Nader, have tried with the Green Party, and Gary Johnson with the Libertarian Party, but no third-party candidate has come close to winning the presidency.Fox News Digitals Jasmine Baehr contributed to this report.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 19 مشاهدة 0 معاينة

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTrump boldly states he wouldn't have changed Redskins name to Commanders despite controversyIf it were up to President Donald Trump, Washingtons football team would never have changed its name. The NFL team currently goes by the Washington Commanders, but the old name, Redskins, is what Trump says he wouldve kept it as if he owned the organization."Well, you want me to make a controversial statement? I would," Trump said to reporters in Morristown, New Jersey on Sunday. "I wouldnt have changed the name. But thats their it just doesnt have the same ring to me."CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMCommanders owner Josh Harris told Bret Baier on"Special Report" in April that, despite his plan to bring the team back to Washington D.C. at the site of the old RFK Stadium, the Redskins name wouldnt be coming back."The Commanders name actually has taken on an amazing kind of element in our building," Harris said. "So, the people that certain types of players that are tough, that love football, are delegated Commanders, and Jayden [Daniels], for example, is a Commander, and they're ranked."And, you know, the business staff has gotten into it, and obviously, we're in a military city here. There's more military personnel than anywhere else, so we're kind of moving forward with the Commanders name, excited about that, and not looking back."JOE THEISMANN TALKS COMMANDERS POSSIBLY HONORING REDSKINS NAME, LOGO IN FUTUREWhile he may not have changed the name, Trump thinks any team that wins will stick with fans no matter what. Thats exactly what Washington did last season, reaching the NFC Championship Game for the first time in almost three decades under new quarterback Jayden Daniels."But, you know, winning can make everything sound good," Trump continued. "So, if theyre winning, all of a sudden Commanders sounds good. But I wouldnt have changed the name."In terms of the new stadium, political disagreements have surrounded the $3.8 billion project. Less than two months after completing the stadium deal, D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser said that there were delays by the D.C. Council to approve the latest budget, per Front Office Sports."If the Council strips the deal terms or budgeted dollars from the budget, it kills our agreement with the Commanders," Bowser said last month with a preliminary approval of the plans needing an agreement on July 15.Prior to his name comment, Trump was asked by a reporter about potentially stepping in if the deal remains shaky."Well, well see what happens," he responded. "Ive been looking at the deal, and I dont blame them. Its a very important piece of property, its a great piece of property. So, well see. If I can help them out, I would."Ultimately, we control that [land]. The federal government ultimately controls it, so well see what happens. I saw the plans, I saw the stadium. The owners a very, very successful and very good man. I know him a little bit. It would be great for the NFL to be there. I can tell you that. If they want to negotiate a little tough, thats OK with me."The reason behind Washington changing its name to Commanders stems from the broad critiques of Redskins being offensive to Native Americans. The team ended up abandoning the name in wake of the George Floyd protests, calling itself the "Washington Football Team" until a major rebrand to Commanders came in 2022.There is still a large contingent believing the name and logo should return to the historic franchise, including Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., who said he would show support for the deal to bring a new stadium to the old site on the condition the team and NFL would honor the old Redskins logo."The irony that they were canceling Native American culture as the DEI movement went way too far," Daines said in November 2024. "This is honoring a Blackfeet chief who was born in Montana. He is highly esteemed. The Blackfeet tribe of Montana, their current chairman and tribal council signed a letter in strong support to bring the logo back. It honors Indian Country."We have good discussions with the NFL and with the Commanders. Theres good faith in negotiations going forward thats going to allow this logo to be used again. Perhaps revenues going to a foundation that could help Native Americans in sports and so forth. Were making good progress, and based on the good faith negotiations, I made a decision to support this bill yesterday in the committee."Harris told Baier that he hopes construction will start on the site in 2027, and opening day would have a target for 2030.Fox News' Ryan Gaydos contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 26 مشاهدة 0 معاينة

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMMan vows to keep Texas business running despite 'worst flood' in 20 yearsJONESTOWN, TEXAS - A Texas man described what it has been like witnessing the worst flooding to hit his area since he started living there and vowed to keep his business running."We've been here 20 years and nobody's seen anything like this, not even close," David Abboud, an owner of a paintball facility and resident of Jonestown, Texas, tells Fox News Digital.Abboud shared details of what it has been like since the storm ravaged Central Texas and how fast the storm's destruction worked."I wasn't here in the wee hours of the morning when it crested or came down like a wall of water. There's a monitoring station right up on FM 1431, monitors cubic feet per second. And when it got wiped out it was at 50,000 cubic feet a second. And I think somewhere around 23 to 25 feet high, nothing like that. I mean, you can see the debris line up in these trees, but that's how high it got up in those trees," Abboud pointed out.REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN REUNITES WITH DAUGHTERS AFTER TEXAS CAMP FLOODING, THANKS COUNTLESS HEROES"We have lower fields and trees, we lost a few of our fields, but we'll clean it up," he continued.Abboud said that some people in the area also helped rescue people from a nearby home in the area.A creek near Abboud's business now covers where the road used to be just a few days ago, which Abboud described as not a new issue for him."We've done it before. We've had issues with the low water crossings really still there. This is the bank side, so it (the flood) widened it," Abboud explained."This guy put this wall in here. So it kind of concentrates the water on this side. So it has always been a problem ripping this up," he continued.Abboud added that he was surprised the wall was even still standing.TEXAS FLOOD SURVIVORS SHARE HARROWING STORIES, SEARCH CONTINUES FOR THOSE STILL MISSING"I'm surprised the wall is still there. It's been coming down in pieces over the years, and we've kind of been cleaning it out of the creek when it dries up," Abboud said.During a press conference, Texas officials shared that they had received "unconfirmed reports of another wall of water" forming."Another thing I'm getting right this minute during this press conference is reports of an additional wall of water coming down some of the creeks going into the forks," Texas Division of Emergency Management Chief W. Nim Kidd said.Kidd said they were "evacuating parts of the river because we're worried about another wall of water coming down in those areas."TEXANS PLEDGE $500,000 TO COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY DEVASTATING FLOOD: 'WE ARE HEARTBROKEN'"This is the live updates that we're getting right now from the field is there are unconfirmed at this point reports of additional water coming in. And as the governor mentioned, there's rain still falling on the area," Kidd said."We've got DPS aircraft that are flying up to try to find this wall of water right now, and the people in the reported areas, again, unconfirmed, that are on our communication systems. We're asking them to get out of the water and out of the way so that we don't wind up having to do additional rescues."On Sunday, Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha also warned that the Guadalupe River and Johnson Creek could rise another one to two feet as rainfall continues in the area."There was additional rain in the upper Guadalupe basin this afternoon, leading to a rise in Johnson Creek," the sheriff's office shared in a Facebook update. "This water may lead to a rise of 1-2ft downstream when it enters the Guadalupe river in Ingram. Please be aware if you are near the Guadalupe River or Johnson Creek."During a Sunday news conference, Leitha said they have recorded 68 deaths in Kerr County."Among those who are deceased, we have 40 adults and 28 children," Leitha said. "18 adults are pending identification and ten children are also pending identification.""At present there are ten Camp Mystic campers unaccounted for, and one counselor. We continue to offer our condolences to those affected, and we will work tirelessly till we reunite them with their families," he continued.President Donald Trump said he was planning on visiting Texas, "probably on Friday.""We want to leave a little time. I would have done it today, but we'd just be in their way. Probably Friday," Trump said.Fox News' Lorraine Taylor contributed to this report.0 التعليقات 0 المشاركات 25 مشاهدة 0 معاينة
