Trump, administration 'geniuses' for doing at least 1 crucial thing, USWNT legend Abby Wambach says
U.S. womens soccer legend Abby Wambach admitted in a recent podcast interview that President Donald Trump and his administration are "geniuses" in at least one thing.Wambach, along with author Glennon Doyle, opened up about what she called a "complicated" relationship with the U.S. and lamented that Trump and his officials were able to get their voters to rally and elect him as president once again in 2024.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMShe spoke to MSNBCs Nicolle Wallace on her "Best People" podcast."I think about it from a team perspective, because I have so much experience being in a community of a team," Wambach explained. "And being a person who represented this country, and I consider myself very patriotic in many ways, and yet my relationship with my country is very complicated because of all the things that go on inside our administration, the things that we are seeing."But I do believe that one of the things that Trump and the administration are geniuses at is getting people to believe they are a part of this community. This community piece, allows people to not pay attention to every little thing. Theyre stoking them in a way that keeps them believing that they are part of something that is good even if there are some consequences that are happening in order to get to this. Like it is like the ends justifies the means in some way."Wambach said that when someone is trying to develop so-called "team culture," what Trump and his administration have done in that development is a "very smart way to do it."JESSE MARSCH ON CANADA'S EARLY GOLD CUP EXIT: 'WERE MISSING HALF OF OUR GROUP'However, Wambach believes some Trump supporters are having second thoughts."I think that you are seeing some folks going, Wait a second I didnt sign up for all of this, and that is laughable to me because he wasnt hiding the playbook. They just didnt believe, I think part of them probably felt like, Oh the playbook is just like that is just never going to happen, right like that is too far down that is never going to happen. Lets just get him in office he is a good businessman. I also think there is probably a sector of people that are like, Yeah we want all of this stuff to happen."There is, I think there is a smaller version, but I do think some of the folks that voted for him are probably questioning their vote and also embarrassed to go back on it. It is once you get entrenched in that community, its like if you get out where do you go, it is almost like there is no place for folks who actually want to jump ship to land because they cant see themselves in all of our world."Trump touted his poll numbers earlier this month, saying his approval rating was "the highest its ever been."However, recent surveys suggested the presidents approval ratings remain in the upper 40s with his disapproval rating around 50%.Fox News' Connor McGahan contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

DAVID MARCUS: Team Trump just made a bold stand against hatred
In one of the most easily justifiable decisions in recent memory, the Trump administration has revoked the visas of the English punk duo "Bob Vylan," in response to their disgusting call to murder members of the Israeli Defense Force during the Glastonbury music festival this weekend.Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau took to X on Monday, saying,"The (State Department) has revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants. Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country."From the stage, the lead singer (both band members are named Bobby Vylan go figure) chanted "Death, Death to IDF," to an adoring crowd of wealthy progressive useful idiots who shelled out upwards of $500 bucks a ticket for this Hamas hootenanny.STATE DEPARTMENT PULLS VISAS FOR BRITISH BAND BOB VYLAN, FOLLOWING DEATH TO THE IDF CHANTS AT GLASTONBURYThe most generous interpretation of Vylans blatant call to violence, which is still horrendous, is that he only meant that active-duty members of Israels army should be murdered, but given that almost every Israeli has served in the IDF, it could certainly mean murdering all Israelis. This October, Bob Vylan was set to bring their eclectic mix of punk, rap, and incitement to violence against Jews to New York City but thankfully, the Trump administration isnt letting that happen.Critics will argue that barring these babbling buffoons from American stages is a violation of the principles of free expression, but there are limits to free expression, especially when it comes from foreign agitators seeking to sow chaos.Even during the Ellis Island period from the 1880s to 1920, the most liberal and open immigration regime in our nations history, anarchists were among the very few groups, along with the sick, who were barred entry.UK PUNK-RAP DUO SPARKS OUTRAGE WITH ANTI-ISRAEL CHANTS AT MAJOR MUSIC FESTIVALThe architects of immigration policy at the end of the 19th century had seen the turmoil and bloodshed wrought by anarchists in Europe, and they wanted no part of it at home.Is it so different now? As we watch terrorist-supporting immigrants swarm Europe, creating their own no-go zones of Sharia law and rape gangs, shouldnt we keep that as far from our shores as possible?Just as the anarchists of 1900 brought violence and bombings in their wake, so too, virulent and violent anti-Israeli rhetoric has just recently led to the murder of two young Israelis in Washington, D.C., a firebombing of Jews in Boulder, Colorado, and an arsonist setting Jewish Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiros house ablaze.TRUMP ADMINISTRATION PROMISES JUSTICE FOR SLAIN ISRAELI COUPLE IN DC SHOOTINGWe are under absolutely no obligation as a nation to invite people to come and lecture our citizens about how we need more anti-Jewish violence. This is also not a matter of artistic exchange between competing national ideologies. When the Ukraine War broke out there were legitimate questions about whether Russian artists and athletes should be invited to events in the West, but last I checked, no ballerina or gymnast ever shouted "Death to the IDF" from the stage or balance beam.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONOn Sunday, the British Broadcasting Service apologized for its live airing of Bob Vylans Glastonbury Jew hatred, saying, "The antisemitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable and have no place on our airwaves." Ill go one better, they have no place anywhere in the United States of America. The Trump administrations efforts to combat antisemitism, including telling these punk rock jokers to stay in England or go to Iran, could not be more timely. For years, the hard left has used explicit calls for violence and justified them as fighting for the oppressed, even today, zany Zohran Mamdani, the Democrats socialist nominee for mayor of New York City, refuses to condemn the phrase "Globalize the Intifada."Make no mistake, two Jewish kids about to get engaged were gunned down in cold blood in our nations capital by the globalizing of the intifada, and if Mamdani cant condemn it then their blood is on his hands, too.But for his part, President Trump is making it clear that calls for violence against Jews will not be acceptable under his watch, and his administration has shown real courage in combating antisemitism on college campuses, and now in our concert halls. Many American Jews are tired of sitting back while being told that explicit calls for violence against Israel are not antisemitism, in Donald Trump they have a powerful ally who will not accept the euphemisms or lies of the global anti-Israel left.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM DAVID MARCUS

Dem Rep. Ritchie Torres shreds Mamdani on failure to condemn 'intifada' language
Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., blasted Democratic New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani on Monday for not condemning the slogan, "globalize the intifada."During a "CNN News Central" segment, the Democratic politician argued how, for many Jewish people, the call for "intifada" is a threat of violence to their community, and reprimanded Mamdani for refusing to outright condemn that language."It is deeply offensive. Every elected official, without exception, should condemn it," Torres told CNN host John Berman.COLBERT GRILLS DEM SOCIALIST NYC MAYORAL CANDIDATE ZOHRAN MAMDANI ON ISRAEL, ANTISEMITISMMamdani, a self-described democratic socialist and practicing Muslim, recently won a crowded Democratic Party primary for the candidacy of New York City mayor, beating out big-name candidates like former Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Since winning, Mamdani has been a lightning rod for controversy due to his economic policy proposals and dodging condemnation of the anti-Israeli slogan. On NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, host Kristen Welker asked Mamdani if he would condemn the phrase "globalize the intifada." The politician avoided a direct condemnation multiple times over the course of the interview."Do you condemn that phrase, globalize the intifada'?" Welker asked."Thats not language that I use," Mamdani replied. "The language that I use, and the language that I will continue to use to lead this city, is that which speaks clearly to my intent, which is an intent grounded in the belief in universal human rights."GLOBALIZE THE INTIFADA PHRASE STIRS TENSIONS ON NYC CAMPAIGN TRAIL AS MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT RAGESWhen asked again, he said, "I dont believe that the role of the mayor is to police speech."Elsewhere, the candidate argued that to condemn the phrase puts him "into a place similar to that of the president, who is looking to do those very kinds of things, putting people in jail for writing an op-ed, putting them in jail for protesting."When asked what he thought of Mamdanis answers on Sunday, Torres did not hold back, arguing that the prospective mayor condemning such rhetoric is necessary and not on the level of throwing people in jail over certain speech."I strongly disagree. No ones advocating for imprisonment. I mean, every elected official has an obligation to condemn hatred, whether its antisemitism or Islamophobia," the congressman said.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"You know, the second Intifada refers to a wave of terror attacks, suicide bombings and slashings and stabbings that left more than a thousand Israelis and Jews dead. And so, when one uses the word intifada, it causes profound pain and trauma to the Jewish community," Torres added.Other Democratic Party figures have called on Mamdani to denounce the phrase in recent days. MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton called on him to do so during an MSNBC panel on Monday.Sen. Kristen Gillibrand, D-N.Y., did the same."He should denounce it. And thats it. Period," she said on "The Brian Lehrer Show" last week.During an appearance on ABCs "This Week" on Sunday, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., said, "'Globalizing the intifada,' by way of example, is not an acceptable phrase. Hes going to have to clarify his position on that as he moves forward."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPMamdani's team has not replied to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Carlos Alcaraz rushes over to help ill spectator as record-breaking heat takes toll on Wimbledon match
Wimbledon began on Monday with its hottest opening day in history, as temperatures at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club got up to around 90 degrees Fahrenheit. While conditions for the athletes were atop the concern list, Carlos Alcaraz, the two-time defending mens singles champion, made sure patrons at Centre Court were also taken care of in the heat.During his four-and-a-half-hour match against 38-year-old Fabio Fognini, play was suspended after a spectator fell ill due to the heat.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMAlcaraz was quick to help the cause, grabbing a water bottle near his bench and running it over to the spectator in question. A member of the Wimbledon security also brought over an umbrella to help shade the person. The BBC reported that the air temperature on the grounds reached 32.2 degrees Celsius (90.1 degrees Fahrenheit) around 4 p.m. BST. The previous record during Wimbledon's opening day was 29.3 degrees Celsius in 2001.Play resumed in the last set, which was in Alcarazs favor, 2-0, after breaking Fognini in the second game. He took the final set, 6-1, and let out a big celebration that might have had some relief sprinkled in there. This match wasnt expected to be long, as Alcaraz, fresh off a French Open victory over Jannik Sinner, was supposed to handle Fognini easily in the first round. However, his career-best 19th straight victory was a marathon, as the 22-year-old was tested by Fognini, who plans on retiring after this year.Fognini had never made it past the third round at Wimbledon, but he was searching for the upset of the year after defeating Alcaraz in the second set, and taking him down, 6-2, in the fourth to force a decisive fifth one.A lot of Alcarazs struggles, though, were self-inflicted. He had nine double-faults and 62 unforced errors compared to 52 winning shots. He also faced 21 break points, something no one fathomed entering Mondays opening day.Alcaraz was even spotted shouting something at his coachs box during the match. Social media translated his words in Spanish as he believed Fognini had a lot more tennis left in him.But Alcaraz got the job done in the end, while also making sure to help one of the many in attendance to watch him begin his road to a potential three-peat. Trump may look to his daughter-in-law to defend Senate seat in key battleground
President Donald Trump calls Sen. Thom Tillis' announcement that the two-term Republican senator won't see re-election next year in battleground North Carolina "Great News."And with Tillis who Trump torched this past weekend for not supporting his so-called "big, beautiful" spending and tax cut bill in a key test vote now out of the picture in the midterms, it's likely the president and his political team will be the kingmakers in the selection of the 2026 GOP nominee in North Carolina."Its the presidents choice. The president and his team will have those conversations," a Republican operative, pointing to Trump's immense sway over the GOP, told Fox News.TILLIS DENOUNCES TRUMP'S BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL HOURS AFTER SURPRISE RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT"Does he have great choices? Absolutely," said the strategist, who asked to remain anonymous to speak more freely.Likely at the top of the list is Lara Trump, the president's daughter-in-law who served last year, amid the 2024 presidential campaign, as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC).TRUMP REACTS TO TILLIS NOT SEEKING RE-ELECTION, SENDS WARNING TO 'COST CUTTING REPUBLICANS'Lara Trump, who grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina, and attended undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University, is married to the president's son, Eric. She stepped down from her post at the RNC late last year and currently hosts "My View with Lara Trump" on the Fox News Channel. The Republican strategist highlighted that Lara Trump "has the name, but beyond that she is a fundraising powerhouse, and she has the discipline to be an incredible candidate and senator if she chooses to.""Shes probably the only person who should have considering in the same sentence because she is the presidents daughter-in-law and that will be a consideration," the operative added.Four years ago, Lara Trump considered making a bid for an open Senate seat in North Carolina in the 2022 midterm elections."It would be an incredible thing. Its my home state, a state I love so much, and look, I think we need some strong Republicans in Washington, D.C.," she told Fox News at the time. She ultimately decided against launching a campaign, citing her two young children as the main reason for her decision. But she did leave open the possibility of a future run for office in her home state.Lara and Eric Trump own a home in Florida, and Lara Trump's name was briefly mentioned late last year as a potential successor to Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who was nominated by Trump to serve as Secretary of State in his second administration."After an incredible amount of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many, I have decided to remove my name from consideration for the United States Senate, she said in a statement near the end of December.Another name being floated in North Carolina is RNC Chair Michael Whatley.Whatley served five years as chair of the North Carolina GOP before Trump early last year picked him to succeed Ronna McDaniel as RNC chair."Chairman Whatley is honored to have been asked by President Trump to serve as Chair of the Republican National Committee following a hugely successful 2025, and is focused on grown Republican majorities in Congress," an RNC adviser told Fox News when asked about the North Carolina Senate race.WHAT MIKE WHATLEY TOLD FOX NEWS DIGITALAnother name that comes up is Rep. Richard Hudson, who for a second straight cycle is chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee.Along with Whatley, Hudson, who for over a decade has represented a congressional district in the central section of North Carolina, is a strong Trump ally.A source familiar told Fox News that Hudson "is tight with Trump world, and if they really wanted him to run, he wouldn't tell them no."A trio of first-term Republican congressmen in North Carolina may also have interest in the race to succeed Tillis.Sources confirmed to Fox News that Rep. Pat Harrigan is eyeing a bid. Reps. Tim Moore and Brad Knott may also have interest. And four-term GOP Rep. Murphy may consider a run.SCOOP: HOUSE REPUBLICAN EYES BID FOR THOM TILLIS SENATE SEAT AFTER TRUMP ATTACKSome national Republicans are relieved that Tillis isn't seeking re-election. Tillis, who has long been an independent thinker who crossed the political aisle to seek compromise, doesn't poll well with the MAGA base. Some Republican operatives familiar with Senate races suggested that the GOP would have an easier time energizing base voters in a smaller midterm electorate with a more conservative candidate than Tillis on the 2026 ballot as the GOP's nominee in North Carolina. And Trump loyalists saw the Tillis announcement as further proof of the president's immense hold over the GOP.Tillis, in a statement, noted that "in Washington over thelast few years, it's become increasingly evident that leaders who are willing to embrace bipartisanship, compromise, and demonstrate independentthinking are becoming an endangered species."In the race for the Democratic Senate nomination, former Rep. Wiley Nickel, a trial lawyer and former state senator, launched a bid earlier this year. But all eyes are on former two-term Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper, who is mulling a run. Cooper is viewed as the most formidable and prominent potential Democratic candidate for a seat his party is aiming to flip from red to blue. But no Democrat has won a Senate race in North Carolina since 2008.Hours after Tillis' announcement on Sunday, a top non-partisan political handicapper shifted their rating on the North Carolina Senate race from Lean Republican to Toss Up."The surprise move from Tillis moves this race into the Toss Up category and officially makes the Tar Heel State Democrats top pickup opportunity," the Cook Report's Jessica Walter said.

'Antisemitic' British band banned from US after viral 'death to the IDF' festival chants
The State Department has revoked the visas for members of the Bob Vylan band, after the British punk-rap duo called for "death to the IDF" during a Saturday performance in England's Glastonbury Music Festival. The band Bob Vylan, made up of two musicians with the stage names Bobby Vylan and Bobbie Vylan, is slated to tour the U.S. later in 2025. But the State Department announced Monday it had pulled the visas for the bands members after the group led chants calling for the end of the Israel Defense Forces."Bob Vylans visas have been revoked," a senior State Department official told Fox News Digital Monday. "The secretary of state has been clear the U.S. will not approve visas for terrorist sympathizers."UK PUNK-RAP DUO SPARKS OUTRAGE WITH ANTI-ISRAEL CHANTS AT MAJOR MUSIC FESTIVALSecretary of State Marco Rubio has issued multiple warnings that the State Department will rescind visas for "terrorists" and those affiliated with them. For example, Rubio said in a June 2 X post after the antisemitic terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, that all "terrorists, their family members, and terrorist sympathizers" in the U.S. on a visa would have their visas revoked and face deportation.During the Glastonbury, England, performance, Bobby Vylan also led the crowd with chants of "Free, Free, Free Palestine," and wrapped up the chant saying, "Hell yeah, from the river to the sea. Palestine must be, will be inshallah, it will be free."In response, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, "There is no excuse for this kind of appalling hate speech," according to the BBC.Meanwhile, Bobby Vylan appeared to double down on his statements during the Glastonbury performance, and wrote in a social media post Sunday: "I said what I said."EX-MUMFORD & SONS GUITARIST CRITICIZES MUSIC INDUSTRY FOR SILENCE AFTER BOULDER ANTISEMITIC ATTACK"It is incredibly important that we encourage and inspire future generations to pick up the torch that was passed to us," Bobby Vylan said in a Sunday Instagram post. "Let us display to them loudly and visibly the right thing to do when we want and need change. Let them see us marching in the streets, campaigning on ground level, organizing online and shouting about it on any and every stage that we are offered."Additionally, the BBC issued a Monday statement apologizing for continuing to air Bob Vylans performance live, and condemned the antisemitic chants during the performance.RETIRED UK POLICE OFFICER SUING AFTER BEING ARRESTED OVER 'THOUGHT CRIME' POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA"The team were dealing with a live situation but with hindsight we should have pulled the stream during the performance. We regret this did not happen," the BBC said in a Monday statement. "The BBC respects freedom of expression but stands firmly against incitement to violence. The antisemitic sentiments expressed by Bob Vylan were utterly unacceptable and have no place on our airwaves."
