A New Jersey elementary school teacher was indicted for allegedly abusing a student over the course of several years, while it is also being reported that she gave birth to the boys child.Laura Caron, 34, a former fifth-grade teacher at Middle Township Elementary School, is accused of engaging in an inappropriate sexual relationship with the student who had been residing in her home, the Cape May County Prosecutors Office said.The abuse allegedly started when the boy was 11 in 2016 and carried on for four years until 2020 when he was 15. During this time period, prosecutors said, Caron was employed as a fifth-grade teacher at the Middle Township Elementary School.HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER CHARGED WITH SEXUALLY ASSAULTING FORMER TEEN STUDENT AT HER HOMEPolice began their investigation last year after receiving a tip that the victims father had made a post on Facebook claiming that Carons 5-year-old child looked like his son, Fox 29 reported, citing court documents.The outlet reported that Caron had taught the victim and at least one of his siblings. The boys family later became friends with Caron and at some point, the victim and his siblings began staying with Caron once or twice a week, before they began living with Caron permanently from 2016 to 2020, the outlet reported.Court documents also allege that the victim confirmed to police that he was in a sexual relationship with Caron and that he was the father of her young child. A spike in viral infections has sickened thousands of travelers and caused several deaths at some popular European destinations.Four countries Austria, Czechia, Hungary and Slovakia have reported a spike in hepatitis A cases between January and May 2025, according to a rapid risk assessment issued by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).In total, 2,097 cases have been reported across the four countries.WHAT IS HEPATITIS?Slovakia, which has been dealing with an active outbreak since 2022, represents 880 of those cases.Czechia is the next most affected country, reporting 600 cases and six deaths, theECDC stated. Hungary has reported 530 cases in 2025, andAustria has reported 87.Hepatitis A is an "acute viral liver disease" caused by the hepatitis A virus (HAV), according to the agency.The disease is mainly spread through contaminated food or water, or through close contact with infected people.Dr. Marc Siegel, Fox News senior medical analyst, said that hepatitis A is a "widely transmissible" disease that spreads easily among food handlers and "can get you very sick."AMERICAN HONEYMOON HOTSPOT HIT BY HIGHLY CONTAGIOUS ILLNESS, HEALTH OFFICIALS WARNPeople who have not received the hepatitis A vaccination or been infected by the virus are susceptible, the agency noted. Prosecutors in Sean "Diddy" Combs' sex-trafficking and racketeering trial chose to rest their case against the disgraced music mogul Tuesday.Diddy's defense team immediately moved for a judgment of acquittal.
