It is an event he has circled on his calendar all year."This is No. 1, it really is," he told Fox News Digital in terms of tournaments he has played over the year. "You kind of know roughly when the invitations are coming out, you start checking emails. ... Its hard to explain, we dont have tournaments like this at all. You can play in your member-member, member-guest, what have you, but, I think again for the second or third year in a row its completely sold out."Its just an amazing time. I dont know if a lot of people have been out to Tahoe, but its just a tremendous place. (The) weather, normally every time, has been fantastic. You just never know who you are going to run into. Youre sitting at a table and who sits down, Matthew Tkachuk or whoever it is you just dont know. Thats the beauty of it. You meet so many great people. So yeah, like I said, about three weeks away, and we cant wait."Lowe finished in fifth place in last years tournament behind Mardy Fish, Joe Pavelski, Annika Sorenstam and John Smoltz. He was seventh in 2023 and eighth in 2022.The field will also have Stephen Curry back to defend his 2023 title after not getting a chance last year. The Golden State Warriors star was at the Paris Olympics playing for the U.S. mens basketball team.WWE STAR THE MIZ VOWS TO BEAT NBA GREAT CHARLES BARKLEY AT THIS YEAR'S AMERICAN CENTURYLowe, even though he played in MLB for years, admitted he does get a little starstruck meeting some of the superstar athletes and celebrities in the field."There is no doubt about it. I remember a couple years ago, meeting Stephen Curry or Patrick Mahomes. You definitely do (get starstruck), there is no doubt about it," he said. "You walk in a room and your like, Oh. You try to act cool, calm, collected like you re not in awe,"But yeah, it really is. We are all sports fans. We all admire especially admire things I cant do. So definitely, I cant say there is one individual guy, but over the years there definitely people you come across, and it is pretty cool you get to meet them."The American Century Championship takes place from July 9-13.The tournament will also raise money for local and national charities. The event is a 54-hole Stableford format in which golfers earn points for each hole based on the score to par. The golfer who achieves the most points wins.Lowe, who is entering his 12th year in the tournament, said its his "favorite time of year.""The experience of golfing at the beautiful golf course that we play in Tahoe," Lowe explained to Fox News Digital. "The fans are amazing; American Century puts on a great week-long event. Ive gotten close a few times but not close enough to win. Its about a month away, you start playing a little bit more, practicing a little bit more, but everyone loves to go out there and compete but at the end of the day, its just, the pro-ams they put together are amazing."It's the greatest week for a lot of us for all year long."Fox News Connor McGahan contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Trump slams Obama, Trudeau for pushing Russia out of G8 summit years ago: 'Wouldn't have a war'
President Donald Trump slammed former President Barack Obama and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for their 2014 "very big mistake" when Russia was removed from the G8 summit, which Trump argued would have prevented further war from breaking out between Russia and Ukraine."The G7 used to be the G8. Barack Obama and a person named Trudeau didn't want to have Russia in," Trump said Monday from Canada, where the G7 summit is being held, while joined by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney."I would say that that was a mistake because I think you wouldn't have a war right now if you had Russia. And you wouldn't have a war right now if Trump were president four years ago," Trump continued. "But it didn't work out that way. But it used to be the G8."Russia officially was removed from G8 summit meetings in 2014, following Russia's annexation of Crimea from Ukraine.G7 SUMMIT OPENS IN CANADA, WITH LEADERS TO ADDRESS TRADE, WARS WHILE HOPING TO AVOID CLASH WITH TRUMP"They threw Russia out, which I claimed was a very big mistake, even though I wasn't in politics then. I was very loud about that it was a mistake," he continued of how he reacted to the news in 2014.Trump added later during the meeting that he was not arguing for Russian President Vladimir Putin to join the current summit, but that the previous decision more than a decade ago to remove the country was a "big mistake.""But, it was a big mistake. Obama didn't want them and the head of your country (Trudeau), the proud head of your country, didn't want him. This was a big mistake. You wouldn't have that war. You know, you have your enemy at the table he wasn't really an enemy at that time. There was no concept," Trump continued, referring to Putin."If I were president, this war would have never happened. But likewise, if he were a member of the, what was called the G8 at that time, it was always the G8, you wouldn't have a war right now."The G7 summit kicked off in a remote ski resort town in Alberta, Canada, Monday, and includes leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the European Union and the United Kingdom, representing seven of the world's largest economies. The meeting, which concludes Tuesday, marks Trump's first G7 summit of his second administration.PUTIN REJECTS TRUMP'S VATICAN PUSH AS KREMLIN ACCUSES HIM OF BEING 'EMOTIONAL': ENVOY KELLOGGUkrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum are also joining the summit and are expected to meet with Trump. The summit is expected to largely focus on escalating attacks between Israel and Iran, after Israel launched preemptive strikes on Iran Thursday evening following months of attempted and stalled nuclear negotiations and subsequent heightened concern that Iran was advancing its nuclear program. The strikes, which were part of Israel's "Operation Rising Lion," targeted Iran's nuclear and missile infrastructure and killed at least four Iranian military leaders.US TO BOYCOTT G8 SUMMIT IN SOCHI UNLESS RUSSIA REVERSES COURSE ON UKRAINEIran said the strikes were a "declaration of war" and has subsequently launched its own strikes on Israel, which have rocked residential communities and left locals killed and buried under the rubble of buildings.Trump has continued pushing for Iran to make a nuclear deal after the country pulled out of ongoing negotiations with the U.S. Sunday."They'd (Iran) like to talk, but they should have done that before. I had 60 days and they had 60 days. And on the 61st day I said, we don't have a deal. They have to make a deal. And, it's painful for both parties. But I'd say Iran is not winning this war. And they should talk and they should talk immediately before it's too late," he said. The summit is expected to also focus on trade and the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
