WNBA launches investigation into 'hateful comments' made during Fever-Sky game
The WNBA on Sunday said it launched an investigation into reports of "hateful comments" that took place during the Indiana Fevers blowout win over the Chicago Sky on Saturday. The league didnt get into specifics of what allegedly occurred during the game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"The WNBA strongly condemns racism, hate, and discrimination in all forms they have no place in our league or in society. We are aware of the allegations and are looking into the matter," the league said in a statement. The Womens National Basketball Players Association (WNBPA) also released a statement."The WNBPA is aware of reports of hateful comments at yesterdays game in Indianapolis and supports the WNBAs current investigation into this matter," the union said. "Such behavior is unacceptable for our sport."Under the WNBAs No Space for Hate policy, we trust the league to thoroughly investigate and take swift, appropriate action to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all."ANGEL REESE 'HATES' CAITLIN CLARK,' FORMER NFL STAR SAYS AFTER TEMPERS FLARE IN WNBA MATCHUPThe WNBA launched its "No Space for Hate" campaign before the 2025 season tipped off. The campaign will include the use of AI social media monitoring tools that will help the league enforce a revised code of conduct."As part of the comprehensive plan, the WNBA is rolling out an AI-powered technology solution to monitor social media activity, in partnership with players and teams, to help protect the community from online hate speech and harassment," it said.A revised WNBA fan code of conduct includes regulations for fans on social media, and threats of sanctioning those fans from official content if they are violated. "Additionally, any direct threats to players, referees or other league and team personnel may be referred to law enforcement and may result in the violator being banned from all WNBA arenas and events."The Fever-Sky game featured a heated moment between Fever star Caitlin Clark and the Sky's Angel Reese in the third quarter. Hitchhiker's Guide to where the 'big, beautiful bill' stands, and what happens Sunday in the Budget Committee
Multiple conversations are ongoing on Sunday some in person but most on the phone as House Republicans try to lock in agreements for the big, beautiful bill.Three areas are outstanding overall. Two are specific to the Budget Committee, which reconvenes Sunday night.Republicans are trying to work out a final pact on green energy tax credits, which could be a major payfor in the bill. The other item is work requirements for Medicaid recipients and when those kick in.Fox News is told that prospective deals on this front will likely be handshake pacts or "gentlemens agreements," as it was phrased to Fox News.REPUBLICANS READY LATE-NIGHT SESSION ON TRUMP'S 'BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL' AFTER GOP MUTINYThe other issue in question is the SALT deduction. That refers to state and local tax breaks for high-tax states. That provision is of the utmost importance to court the votes of moderate Republicans from New York and California. The "SALT caucus" wanted a tax write-off, which might cost as much as $600 billion. The new proposal only costs $230 billion. Fox News is told they are trying to forge a compromise which grants a higher SALT deduction at the beginning of the bills implementation and then dials that back over the 10-year budgetary window for the bill.Remember, this measure must not add to the deficit over that decade-long budgetary timeframe in order to qualify for a special process to avoid a filibuster in the Senate.Fox is told that nothing will change in the bill before the Budget Committee on Sunday night. The White House is currently addressing how to implement possible changes with a "managers amendment" before the Rules Committee later this week. That would finalize and lock in stone the actual text of the bill.Fox is told that the GOP leadership believes they are certainly within range. The GOP brass is generally feeling good at where they stand, "so long as people dont start adding things," said one senior House Republican leadership source.HOUSE GOP UNVEILS MEDICAID WORK REQUIREMENTS IN TRUMP'S 'BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL'The overall goal is to post the text of the bill early this week and go to the Rules Committee on Wednesday with a possible vote on Thursday. But one senior GOP source told Fox the timetable could be expedited with a Tuesday Rules Committee meeting where changes would be made and maybe go to the floor on Wednesday. Now, on to what will likely happen on Sunday night in the Budget Committee:The resolution, mashing together the text from all the other committees, failed on Friday afternoon. The process cant move forward unless they get the measure out of the Budget Committee. Hence, Sunday's 10 p.m. ET meeting. There will be little if any debate its only about that math. Either the GOP leadership and the White House have satisfied the concerns of those who voted nay or they havent. In fact, if things go swimmingly, this could be wrapped up after 20 minutes or so.Heres what it will look like:The first vote is the "motion to reconsider" the failed Friday vote. If that fails, they are stuck. But if they get over that hurdle, its on to an actual re-vote of what failed on Friday. This is the key vote. If the Budget Committee greenlights the package at this stage, its on to the Rules Committee this week and then the floor. There will be five non-binding votes after that key vote on issues we dont need to worry about.

FLASHBACK: MSNBC's Joe Scarborough mocks Hur report detailing Biden's mental decline as 'random s---'
MSNBC's Joe Scarborough criticized then-Special Counsel Robert Hur on his program in 2024 for his controversial report, parts of which were highly covered by the media and raised concerns about former President Biden's mental capabilities. "I wonder what pasture he will wonder off into," Scarborough said on his program at the time in a clip that has resurfaced on social media, beginning his attack on Hur for his report, showed the president struggling with key memories, including when his son Beau died, when he left the vice presidency, and why he was in possession of classified documents he shouldn't have had."You know, with Joe Biden, I noticed, he didn't really tie his tie well," Scarborough said, mocking the details that Hur gave in his original report. "The tie knot suggested that maybe [Biden] has arthritis in his left thumb."BIDEN STRUGGLES WITH WORDS, KEY MEMORIES IN LEAKED AUDIO FROM SPECIAL COUNSEL HUR INTERVIEW"Where are you going with this?" Brzezinski asked Scarborough, her husband and co-host."I'm just saying this guy says such random s---!" Scarborough said, demanding that Hur apologize for his report."Does he hope he gets a judgeship? I think he does. I think he hopes he gets a judgeship if Donald Trump gets elected again because he's trying out, because he humiliated himself with that display."BIDEN INTERVIEW AUDIO REVEALS WHO BROUGHT UP BEAU'S DEATH AND IT WASN'T HURHur's pivotal release of his interview with Biden has again resurfaced in national news media, with audio leaked to Axios of the original interview. The audio was leaked after more than a year of congressional lawmakers demanding its release amid questions about the former presidents memory lapses and mental acuity. The transcript of Bidens interview with Hur was released last year, and confirmed the presidents frequent memory lapses. When asked by Hur about where he kept papers he was actively working on around 2017 and 2018, Biden said that Beau Biden was either "deployed or is dying" at that time. Beau died in 2015. At one point, Biden said to himself "When did Beau die?" and a lawyer answered that it was 2015.Fox News' Brie Stimson and Brooke Singman contributed to this report.

Companion of Texas real estate agent killed in Mercedes dispute has lengthy criminal record
William Kistler, the mysterious 26-year-old companion of the Texas real estate agent who was fatally shot after the pair allegedly brushed against a parked Mercedes, has a lengthy criminal record.According to FOX 4 Dallas, 28-year-old Ashlee Long was leaving a bar in downtown Dallas on April 5 with a group of friends, including Kistler.Dallas police said that Kistler "reached out and brushed his hand along the passenger side of a passing Mercedes as they were walking across the street." Investigators said that 34-year-old Kendrick Finch then exited the passenger side of the vehicle with a gun and opened fire. The affidavit states, according to FOX 4, that Kistler reached into Long's purse and pulled out his gun, and that's when police say Finch opened fire, striking both Long and Kistler. Kistler was able to fire back, but Finch then took off.REALTOR SHOT DEAD BY MERCEDES SUSPECT WITH CRIMINAL HISTORY: POLICEFinch shot both Long and Kistler, according to police. Long later died from her injuries at the hospital, while Kistler survived.Finch, who has a prior criminal history that includes drug charges and burglary, later turned himself in to authorities. He is currently charged with murder.Kistler was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, a felony. He is being held in the Collin County Jail.On March 7, prosecutors said that Finch fired "at least 8 times.""From the evidence that I see, it is our firm belief that Mr. Finch was the first one to shoot. That he has to own. He fired that gun at least eight times. In a crowded residential-commercial street with cars and people walking all around."Finch's attorney, Dallas County defense lawyer Josh Healy, said in court that the shooting was an act of self-defense and that Kistler "started everything that night.""We know for sure Ashlee Long would be alive today except for William Kistler. William Kistler is the one who started everything that night. It showed in the video. It shows his actions, how he was acting. We don't have the toxicology report yet of these two individuals, but I can bet where that's going to end up. He's trying to fight random people on the street, and then my client's car, driving by at a normal rate of speed, gets hit," Healy said.SUSPECTED FSU CAMPUS SHOOTER INDICTED ON MURDER CHARGES FOR ALLEGEDLY KILLING 2, INJURING 6Healy also emphasized the seven seconds it took his client to exit the vehicle."He goes over how, during those seven seconds, he says Kistler is trying to get a gun out of Long's purse.""What I do know is my client never gets out of that car except [that] Mr. Kistler is reaching for that gun immediately . . . but if you watch that video, Mr. Kistler, when he's fighting around trying to get that gun and gets it, goes like this towards my client."At that moment, Healy lunged forward in court, acting out what he claimed was visible in the video."And when he takes those steps towards my client, my client has every right under the law to defend himself," he said.Finch was released on May 13 after posting a $500,000 bond. His release came after a judge denied a motion from his defense team to reduce the bond amount.NC COLLEGE STUDENT SHOT DEAD BY 'CAREER CRIMINAL' IN 'RANDOM' SC HOME INVASION: POLICELong's companion's lengthy criminal history, primarily misdemeanors, was brought to light after he was charged. In April 2018, he was charged with theft of services valued between $750 and $2,500, a case that was ultimately resolved in County Court. Later that year, in November 2018, he was charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member, another misdemeanor. In March 2019, Kistler was charged with violating a protective order or bond conditions in a domestic violence case, which was also resolved without a felony conviction. In July 2023, he faced another theft charge involving property valued between $750 and $2,500, again concluding with a misdemeanor disposition. In addition to these closed misdemeanors, Kistler is involved in two ongoing legal proceedings. In May 2019, he was indicted by a grand jury for burglary of a habitationa felony. After a period of inactivity, the case was reactivated and remains pending. In July 2022, Kistler was charged in connection with a vehicle accident that caused at least $200 in damage. That case has also been reopened.Fox News Digital reached out to Kistler's attorney for comment.Henry Long, the father of the victim, released a statement mourning the death of his daughter and calling for Finch to stay in jail."Ashlees life mattered. And so does justice," Long wrote on Facebook. "Kendrick Finch must remain behind bars permanently."He made the choice to kill. He should not be given the opportunity to walk free and make that choice again."Long said the pain of losing a child is "indescribable.""But to lose her this way to gun violence at the hands of a stranger is a trauma no family should have to endure," he wrote. "Kendrick Finch made the choice to take her life. He didnt just end her future he shattered the lives of everyone who loved her."
