Diddys defense attorney challenges governments narrative in high-stakes federal trial
Sean "Diddy" Combs retained criminal defense attorney Teny Geragos as part of his legal team after his arrest in September. The criminal defense attorney, known just as much for her last name as she is for her work in the courtroom, first earned fans last year with social media clips about her rapper client.Teny also gained recognition for her opening remarks during Diddy's federal trial, where she argued that the case was about "voluntary adult choices," which the government was attempting to skew into a narrative to fit a sex trafficking charge.50 CENT WARNS TRUMP ABOUT DIDDY AFTER PRESIDENT IS ASKED IF HE'D CONSIDER PARDONTeny, the daughter of criminal defense lawyer Mark Geragos, graduated from Loyola Law School Los Angeles in 2016. Her father is known for representing several high-profile clients, including Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson, Jussie Smollett, Colin Kaepernick and, most recently, the Menendez brothers in their pursuit of resentencing. She then worked with Brafman & Associates for eight years before becoming a founding partner of Agnifilo Intrater. She serves on the board of directors of the New York Criminal Bar Association and is certified to practice law in New York and California.DIDDY ACCUSER SUES HARVEY WEINSTEIN FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTShortly after Diddy was arrested in New York after a human trafficking investigation, Teny claimed the media was pushing the wrong narrative about the "Last Night" rapper."There's no minors, there's no celebrity sex tapes. The civil lawsuits here are not driving the allegations that we're defending against, but it is driving the vitriol against him in the media," Teny said on an episode of "2 Angry Men.""It's incredible here what I'm witnessing," she said of the public narrative about Diddy. "A lot of allegations that have no basis in reality whatsoever."During opening statements of Diddy's trial, which began on May 5, Teny asked the jury to consider the federal charges, not the choices of an at-times violent man.WATCH ON FOX NATION: WHAT DIDDY DO?"Sean Combs is a complicated man, but this is not a complicated case," Teny told the court. "This case is about love, jealousy, infidelity and money. This case is about voluntary adult choices made by capable adults and consensual relationships. This case is about those real-life relationships, and the government is trying to turn those relationships into a racketeering case, a prostitution case and a sex trafficking case. It will not work."Teny told the jury that they would hear the "basics" through the lens of various witnesses and evidence. Most importantly, though, jurors would get the opportunity to "finally" hear the facts about the case."I say that because this case is not about what you've heard on the news, read in the news or have seen on social media for the past year and a half," Teny said. "This case is not about what civil attorneys looking for a payday are trying to make my client out to be. There has been a tremendous amount of noise around this case for the past year, and it is time to cancel that noise and hear and see the evidence that will be presented in this courtroom."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSShe noted that Diddy "has a bad temper" and at times gets "so angry or so jealous that he is out of control," but she emphasized that the "Victory" rapper was not charged with "being mean.""He is not charged with being a jerk. He's charged with running a racketeering enterprise," Teny said. "And though there was violence that you are going to hear about, you already have, that violence is not part of any RICO. That violence is not connected to sex trafficking and that violence is not prostitution."During a recent episode of "2 Angry Men," Harvey Levin and Mark Geragos sat down with fellow high-profile lawyer Joe Tacopina to talk about the case. Tacopina has served as a personal attorney for President Donald Trump and most recently won a big court victory while representing rapper A$AP Rocky, who was found not guilty of criminal assault charges."Your daughter, by the way, your daughter is a terrific lawyer Teny I'm very impressed," Tacopina told the men. "There's people who are or children of great lawyers who become lawyers, and you know it's not the same."CLICK HERE TO GET THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER"I'm sure we're reading each other's minds right now," Mark said. "That's why I take that as high praise for her, so I appreciate that.""She is, she's something else. I'm very impressed with her," Tacopina continued. "That opening was phenomenal. Opening summations and cross is my daily bread, it's what I love, it's what I studied, and what I really perfected it, and that was as good as I've seen."To wrap the episode, Mark revealed that his all-star daughter was pregnant with his second grandchild. "Four months yesterday, I think," Mark said.Levin joked, "The New York jury is like, Is everybody pregnant in this case?" Levin was likely referring to the prosecutions "star witness," Diddy's ex, Cassie Ventura, who recently gave birth to her child with husband Alex Fine. Ventura testified against the rapper last month. In a federal indictment unsealed on Sept. 17, Combs was charged with racketeering conspiracy (RICO); sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution. If found guilty, he faces a minimum of 15 years behind bars or a maximum sentence of life in prison.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPHe has maintained his innocence throughout the trial, in which witnesses have testified to alleged rape, sexual assault, severe physical abuse, forced labor and drug trafficking. The trial is expected to wrap by July 4.

Major US city led by GOP mayor, new top cop bucks sanctuary trend to do whats right
It's been nearly a month since Daniel Comeaux was sworn in as the new chief of police in Dallas, TX, where he is taking a different approach to immigration enforcement than his predecessor and working to align with the state's sanctuary policies."We're gonna do what's right. We're always gonna be there to help our federal partners," Comeaux told Fox News Digital during an interview."If there's a federal agency that's doing an operation, and they need our assistance, we'll be there to help them, as long as they're doing what's by the law, and they're doing it with respect and the right way, DPD will be there to assist," he continued.Comeaux also has the support of Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, who said during a previous interview with Fox News that he would support efforts by President Donald Trumpd to deport undocumented migrants accused of violent crimes.BUCKING BIG-CITY TREND: MAJOR TEXAS CITIES NOW ALERTING ICE OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT ENCOUNTERS"Of course, wed support that," Johnson said during the interview. "Of course, wed stand by President Trump in an effort to get rid of people in our country illegally who have violent criminal records or who commit violent criminal acts here."Texas has taken a hard stance against illegal immigration, particularly during the Biden administration. The state deployed authorities to its border with Mexico and took on a campaign of bussing migrants to Democrat-run cities to bring attention to the flow of illegal immigrants into the U.S.Johnson, who has served as Dallas mayor since 2019, made headlines in 2023 when he announced he was switching from the Democrat party to the Republican, explaining his decision in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, "American cities need Republicans."Dallas, one of the top 10 largest cities in the U.S., saw a significant decrease in crime after Johnson took office in 2019.According to the Associated Press, Dallas is the largest city in the U.S. to be led by a GOP mayor.Johnson told Fox News Digital in 2021 he attributed that success to three things a strong police chief, having "a budget that reflects public safety being your city's top priority" and ensuring theres "community buy-in" for crime reduction."Mayor Johnson has made public safety his top priority in Dallas, and the city has now achieved a remarkable four-consecutive years of violent crime reduction," the mayor's office told Fox News Digital."The mayor supports President Trump's agenda for making America safe again and believes cooperating with federal law enforcement to stop violent criminals particularly illegal immigrants who have no right to be in our city or in our country helps keep Dallas safe."While Johnson made his position clear on immigration enforcement, his stance differed from former DPD Interim Chief Michael Igo, who previously said his department would not turn in or report anyone in the country illegally who calls 911 for help."The Dallas Police Department is not assisting any federal agency on detaining people that are either documented or undocumented in the city of Dallas," Igo previously said to attendees at Familia Bethel Internacional church in Dallas, according to CBS News.Igo also told the parishioners that federal immigration officials said no arrests or raids would be carried out in churches, schools or hospitals, although he did say that illegal immigrants with outstanding warrants were at risk of deportation.Comeaux, who also has a different take on the issues than his predecessor, said while he wouldn't necessarily call it aligning with President Donald Trump's agenda, he said his department would "do what's right by law enforcement.""If we come in contact with anyone that doesn't have status, we will call the proper federal agency and let them handle it," Comeaux said. "We're not initiating any investigations. We're not initiating any programs. So everyone should feel free to go with their business as normal."Comeaux reiterated that if any of their federal partners needed assistance in any way, they would be there to assist.DALLAS POLICE WON'T JOIN ICE DEPORTATION RAIDS, INTERIM CHIEF TELLS IMMIGRANT MEETINGSComeaux, who has been on the federal side of law enforcement for the past few decades, most recently served as the special agent in charge of the DEA field office in Houston. He said one of his biggest focuses is working to get felons off the streets."Anyone that has a felony warrant, at any moment, know that we could be the ones knocking at your door. It might not be the mailman knocking at your door, it might be us. So if you have a felony warrant, we are trying to get you off the streets," Comeaux warned."We'll get you to the necessary court that you need to be in. But we're very aggressive in getting anyone off the street that has felony warrants. We'll keep everybody safe here in Dallas," he continued.MINNEAPOLIS MAYOR ANNOUNCES CITY WILL NOT COOPERATE WITH TRUMP'S DEPORTATION POLICYComeaux added that another feature the city has in place to protect the public is a camera system."One great thing about Dallas is we have so many camera systems in place. We see what's happening across the city and everyone needs to understand that and know that if you're in this area, if you commit crimes in Dallas, it's very likely that we're seeing you, we're watching you, and we're coming to get you," he vowed.Comeaux also issued a warning to anyone looking to bring violence to the city or break the law to think again."Not in this city. I've been a crime fighter, I've been a protector for my entire career, ever since I was 21 years old," he said. "Pick another city. Don't come to Dallas, you're not welcome."When asked what motivated Comeaux to leave the DEA's office and get back into policing, he reflected on an incident when he started his career as a Houston police officer at 21.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"I'll never forget those moments when I was working the streets, and I was able to really make a difference. I was unable to help an elderly person one day and that has really stuck with me for my entire law enforcement career," the chief shared. "And I always knew I wanted to circle back to local law enforcement and I wanted it to be in a city that can really be influential throughout the entire United States and Dallas was one of those."Fox News Digital's Michael Dorgan, Louis Casiano, and Andrew Mark Miller contributed to this report.

SEN BILL HAGERTY: Nashville is not a sanctuary city. I wont let that happen
Nashville is not, nor is any other city in Tennessee, a sanctuary city. I intend to make certain that remains the case.In May in Nashville, ICE conducted a successful operation with Tennessee Highway Patrol to arrest 196 criminal illegal aliens, including a convicted rapist and a suspected murderer. While I have received every assurance that Nashville and every other city in Tennessee will work in a cooperative manner with law enforcement, make no mistake: I will make certain those commitments are not just lip service.TENNESSEE REP SAYS NASHVILLE MAYOR'S ICE POLICIES AMOUNT TO 'AIDING AND ABETTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION'After the operation, Nashville Mayor Freddie OConnell condemned ICEs good work, promoted a fund to provide support dollars for illegal immigrants and their families in Nashville, and even updated an executive order to fast-track the collection of all Nashville government employees interactions with ICE.The mayors executive order has unsurprisingly led to the doxxing of ICE agents, who have faceda 413% increase in assaultsagainst them while on the job. In Nashville, we know that activists are monitoring ICE activity in the city and alerting each other of ICEs movements using encrypted group chats.Did these groups see the doxxed ICE agents personal information? How will they use it? How does the mayor ensure these lists of ICE agents do not end up in the wrong hands? These are all questions we shouldnt have to ask, but now we do.HOUSE GOP TARGETS ANOTHER DEM OFFICIAL ACCUSED OF BLOCKING ICE AMID DELANEY HALL FALLOUTThe cloud of confusion that has arisen from this misstep is unfortunate, and the facts need to be made clear: the state of Tennessee is a state that stands for law enforcement and the protection of its citizens. The leftwing media is adding fuel to the fire. For example,New York Times opinion writer Margaret Renklexplicitly compares ICE raids in Nashville to the Jim Crow South and the Trail of Tears. Her article littered with cherry-picked stories from immigrant activists uses such ridiculous words as "hunt" to suggest that what is happening in my state is not legal. Let me be clear: the only illegality is from those who chose to cross the borderillegally. We know where this all leads: In 2019, an Antifa activist attempted to firebomb an ICE facility in Tacoma, Washington. Thankfully, he was stopped before he could succeed. But his intentions and motivation were clear. In his manifesto, he slandered ICE as "the forces of evil," and compared their detention facilities to "concentration camp[s]."DHS FIRES BACK AT BLUE-CITY MAYOR UNHAPPY ABOUT ICE OPERATION, PROVIDES RAP SHEETS FOR THOSE CHARGEDEven when such rhetoric from the media and mismanagement on the part of local officials does not inspire acts of domestic terrorism, it still leads to harassment and threats against ICE and other federal law enforcement officers. In the first Trump presidency, the left shamelessly engaged in doxxing of ICE agents, sharing their personal information in an effort to intimidate them out of their jobs, or even cause direct harm to them. Such private informationwas even shared by college professors, published by WikiLeaks, and disseminated bythe far-left domestic terrorist organization Antifa.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONNow that President Donald Trump is back in office, activistshave resumed this dangerous tactic. Even state lawmakers have joined in on efforts to expose ICE officers identities, with Tennessee Democrat state Representative Aftyn Behn filming herself gleefully stalking ICE agents.Trumps historic re-election made it clear: the American people support his immigration agenda, including the removal and deportation of criminal illegal aliens from our communities. Yet some, like Nashville Mayor OConnell, whether intentional or not, are inhibiting the presidents mission. This will not stand.BLUE CITY MAYOR SAYS ICE ARRESTS OF DANGEROUS CRIMINALS ARE NOT FOCUSED ON MAKING US SAFERThe Trump administration and the men and women of ICE have a Herculean task before them in cleaning up what former President Joe Biden facilitated: the largest invasion of our Southern border in history. For four years, we watched Biden sacrifice our national sovereignty to allow millions to illegally flood our country. Unsurprisingly, this illegal tsunami included murderers, rapists, human traffickers, drug smugglers, people on terrorist watch lists, and more. Today, ICE is working overtime to remove these criminals and make our communities safer.Heres the reality: Illegal aliens are facing justice. They are being sent home. And violent criminals, who are here illegally, will no longer plague our communities.OConnell should take careto empower ICE and local law enforcement to remove illegal aliens from our communities, not endanger them. The American people, the people of Tennessee and the brave men and women of ICE deserve much better. I look forward to seeing this commitment upheld.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM SEN. BILL HAGERTY

LA court orders Trevor Bauer's accuser to pay him over $300K for settlement violation
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered the woman who accused former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer of sexual assault to pay more than $300,000 for violating the terms of a settlement agreement on Monday.Lindsey Hill accused Bauer of sexual assault in 2021, leading to an MLB investigation that resulted in a massive suspension for Bauer. They would ultimately settle their lawsuits in 2023, with Bauer suing Hill for defamation, while she sued for assault and sexual battery. It was agreed that neither party would pay the other, but that changed after Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel Crowley ordered Hill to pay Bauer $309,832.02. This comes after Hills attorneys told Bauers attorneys in an email that she would receive $300,000 from her insurance policy.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMBauer is to receive $220,000 for damages, while attorney fees ($68,939.55), interest ($16,634.52) and costs ($4,257.95) bring the grand total to more than $309,000.Hill breached their settlement agreement with each other by discussing Bauer on podcasts and in public appearances, the Los Angeles Times reported.Bauer sued Hill in October, when the suit cited 21 claims on a podcast or social media, which were all alleged violations of their settlement agreement that prohibited her from saying Bauer or any representative "paid her any money as consideration for the settlement." Hill never contested or responded to the suit from Bauer.TREVOR BAUER CALLS OUT MLB AFTER PETE ROSE REINSTATEMENT WHILE HE REMAINS OUT OF LEAGUEIn turn, Crowley granted Bauer a default victory after Hills attorneys told Bauers attorneys they had not made a strong enough case in February, and then, did not justify their fees in April. While she has been ordered to pay Bauer, Hill went on a social media rant saying she would not oblige by the courts decision."Heres all Im gonna say HE WILL NEVER SEE A CENT FROM ME AND HE KNOWS THIS," Hill posted on X with a heart emoji. "I was awarded 300k over what he did to me in 2021, and I refused to participate in this suit in any way shape or form. He will never see a cent. I refuse to give him money or my sanity. Love yall!"Bauers agent, Rachel Luba, clapped back with her own post on her X account after seeing Hills response."Note: Im not sure she understands how the law works," Luba wrote. "Despite her claims, she doesnt get to decide whether she pays him or not Bauer will be able to garnish her wages and seize any assets. Additionally, she cannot appeal when she simply chose not to participate and defend herself against the lawsuit (which was very black and white to begin with and she stood zero chance to win regardless). Lastly, any money she conned from her insurance company initially was paid (because) they simply wanted to get the hell out of it (because) it was a losing case for them"Hill responded, "Oh sissy, when you battle a sociopath for years on end, you set your life up to not have your name tied to any assets. In terms of garnishing wages, aint gonna happen baby catch me if you can. So sorry I wont be contributing to your date night fund."Bauer is currently pitching in Japans Nippon Professional Baseball League. He has been out of MLB for the past four years due to the sexual assault allegations that led to a 324-game suspension by MLB, but it was later reduced to 194 games after an appeal. His suspension may be up, but no MLB team has brought Bauer back into the fold. Bauer has never been one to shy away from sharing his thoughts, and he was not going to in this case.Bauer suggested this past August that MLB is the reason he cannot sign with another team not because a team does not believe his talent is still there to perform at the big-league level. He most recently called out MLB after Pete Rose and other deceased former ballplayers were taken off the leagues permanently ineligible list."So, since Pete is welcome back now, does that go for everyone who has been blackballed?" Bauer asked on X. "Or do you actually have to be guilty of something to qualify for that?"Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
