Longtime Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay encourages fans to boo Juan Soto during return to Bronx
Juan Soto only spent just one season in New York Yankees pinstripes. After helping the Yankees advance to the 2024 World Series, Soto switched New York City boroughs and signed a historic contract with the Mets. The Mets open a three-game series with the Yankees on Friday night. The latest edition of the Subway Series will also mark Soto's first time competing at Yankee Stadium since he hung up his pinstripes. Much of the chatter leading up to the series has centered around the reception Soto will receive from the Yankees faithful.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMLongtime play-by-play announcer and radio host Michael Kay weighed in on the discussion. While Kay discouraged fans from engaging in vulgar chants, he encouraged them to boo the former Yankees slugger."Im anticipating the reaction that Juan Soto is gonna get at Yankees stadium," Kay said. "And I think the reaction, if Im a Yankee fan, would be constant booing of Juan Soto. Now, nothing profane. It shouldnt be that. You should be ashamed of yourself if you say anything like that."METS' JUAN SOTO LOOKS FORWARD TO SUBWAY SERIES AGAINST FORMER TEAM, DESPITE POTENTIAL YANKEES FANS' BOOSKay doubled down on his anti-profanity stance and advised Yankees fans to be "a little more clever.""Dont be classless with the bleep Juan Soto," Kay added. "Be a little more clever than that. You can boo without using the f-word. There are gonna be kids in the crowd! But make him feel how hurt you feel. Nothing wrong with it. Dont let anybody guilt you into that. Ive heard people say, show him that youre better than that. No, youre not better than that! Youre fans."While Soto acknowledged the possibility some fans could direct boos at him, it doesn't appear the potential angst is dampening the slugger's excitement about returning to Yankee Stadium.Nevertheless, Kay suggested many Yankees fans felt a sense of betrayal when Soto bolted for the team's crosstown rival."They feel betrayed, they feel like jilted lovers," Kay noted. "If you feel like youre betrayed, then boo him. Boo him every time hes near the ball. Boo him every time theres a fly ball. Boo him every time he comes up to the plate. Boo him!""I don't mind," Soto told The Athletic in reference to the possible jeers.Prior to the start of the 2025 regular season, Soto admitted he was "expecting the worst" from the Yankees faithful when he did eventually visit the Bronx.Soto finished his lone season with the Yankees with 41 home runs and a .288 batting average. The right fielder has hit eight homers in 43 games so far this season with the Mets.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

DHS open to Duck Dynasty producer's pitch for immigrant-based reality show: 'Happy to review'
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is considering working with the producer of Duck Dynasty on a reality show featuring immigrants vying for U.S. citizenship.Rob Worsoff, the A&E producer who pitched the department about the show in a 35-page slide deck first reported by Daily Mail, envisioned immigrants taking part in competitions around the country for the prize of fast-tracking their citizenship process, such as digging for clams in Maine or rafting down the Arkansas River in Colorado. The show would be called The American, also the name of the Amtrak train that would cart them around the country. As they travel to each state, the competitors would "learn about the history, quirks and activities of each region," one slide seen by Fox News Digital said. "Aboard the train, we will learn who they are, where they come from, their unique backgrounds, and why they have chosen to immigrate to the United States of America," the slide reads.DHS seems open to the proposal.NOEM DISMISSES JEFFRIES' WARNINGS AS DHS CONSIDERS ARRESTS OF DEMOCRATIC LAWMAKERS AFTER ICE FACILITY CLASH"I said it may be a good idea," Tricia McLaughlin,Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at DHS, told Fox News Digital."We get hundreds of pitches for shows. We need to revive patriotism and civic duty in this country and were happy to review out-of-the-box pitches."She added on X that Sec. Kristi Noem, known for her made-for-TV moments on the job, has not yet been briefed on the idea because its in the early stages and has not been approved by staff.DHS CHIEF NOEM ACCUSES LAWMAKERS OF 'COMMITTING FELONIES' AT NEWARK ICE FACILITY: 'THEY SHOULD BE CENSURED'The winner would be deemed "our newest fellow American!" though all contestants on the show would be eligible for eventual citizenship.Other game prizes would be "iconically American," including1 million American Airlines points, a $10,000 Starbucks Gift Card, or a lifetime supply of 76 gasoline.Worsoff, who is Canadian, told Fox News Digital hed pitched the idea as far back as the Obama administration, and the DHS under both President Barack Obama and Joe Biden had been receptive to it."Both cases there was a positive response," he said. "There was a very positive response under [DHS Sec. Alejandro] Mayorkas, then he got impeached.""My show is very much a positive, fun inclusive show," Worsoff added. He said years ago he'd pitched the idea for the hit reality show The Biggest Loser and people had initially accused him of fat-shaming. "Then people watched the show they realized this is a heartwarming, kind show.""Nobody's moving backwards in the [immigration] process" by being on the show, he emphasized.Worsoff told the Wall Street Journal hed pitched the idea as far back as the Obama administration, but it never gained traction.Worsoff formerly wrote for and produced Duck Dynasty, the reality TV show about a Louisiana family and their duck hunting activities. He also produced Bravos Millionaire Matchmaker.Worsoff, who hails from Canada, told the Daily Mail:"Im not affiliated with any political ideology. As an immigrant myself, I am merely trying to make a show that celebrates the immigration process, celebrate what it means to be American and have a national conversation about what it means to be American, through the eyes of the people who want it most."DHS has launched a $200 million ad campaign aimed at highlighting the administrations efforts to crack down on illegal immigration.

'View' co-host tells others Trump is in power 'because you guys screwed this up' in clash over Biden cover-up
"The View" co-hosts locked horns Friday over whether the Democratic Party needs to reckon with how it protected then-President Joe Biden from scrutiny amid rumors of his decline or move on to focus on President Donald Trump.Adding fuel to the fire is the upcoming book "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again," co-written by CNN host Jake Tapper, who admitted he did not cover Bidens worsening condition enough."The View" shared clips of Tapper talking about his coverage, followed by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., stating their intent to look forward rather than back, which sparked a heated debate among the hosts.Co-host Sara Haines responded that many people have lost faith in the Democratic Party precisely because it spent too much time denying and trying to distract people from what they could see with their own eyes.SPARKS FLY AS 'THE VIEW' HOSTS CLASH OVER REASONS FOR BRUTAL HARRIS DEFEAT: 'WHAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA?'"They told the voters what to care about, and they did not listen when the voters said they cared," she added. "So these stories coming out arent about beating a dead horse, its saying if they could have a fair conversation that We heard you, we saw it as they saw it, theyd be gaining some of the voters back."Co-host Sunny Hostin slammed Haines analysis. "I think that I want to move on from why the Democratic Party lost and I want to hear from the Democratic Party about how we are going to take our country back," Hostin said, offering a laundry list of grievances with the Trump administration.Co-host Ana Navarro condemned campaign books like Tappers for featuring anonymous insiders, arguing it makes each of them look like a "complicit coward.""Or was there a culture within the White House that people felt that they couldnt speak truth to power?" Griffin responded, citing quotes in the book where people claimed they would be "boxed out of meetings" if they raised concerns.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREOne key example from the book Griffin mentioned was when Biden didnt recognize George Clooney at a political fundraiser in June.Behar disregarded the incident and sparked laughter from the audience by quipping, "[Clooney] looks different lately."Griffin argued it was a stark sign Biden would not have been able to rise to the occasion during a time of crisis. "Does that give you confidence that, in the middle of the night, if China is about to attack us, theres a war breaking out in Iran, that he is the sharpest person to be able to handle that?"Behar dismissed the argument again, contrasting Biden's administration with the current Trump administration."Do we just keep lowering the bar because Trump is bad?" Griffin asked. "'Nothing else is bad because Trump is bad?'"After further back and forth, Behar declared, "This ship has sailed. Its out in the ocean somewhere with Biden. Its over. Get over it.""We have Trump because you guys screwed this up," Griffin exclaimed. "All due respect."Haines, who has slammed Democrats for hiding Biden's decline before, argued they are acting like the Republican Party."Dems are actually taking a page from Republicans, because Republicans didnt want us to look at January 6," she said. "They said, Lets look forward. Dont look at what happened on that day. Look over there. So in a way its working. Both parties did this."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Princess Diana's brother shares heartbreaking grief, says her death felt like 'an amputation'
Earl Charles Spencer lost a part of himself when his sister, Princess Diana, was killed nearly three decades ago.On May 15, he appeared on "Loose Men" in honor of Mental Health Awareness Week, where he discussed sibling grief."It's such an amputation," said the 60-year-old. "You grow up with these people, they are your flesh and blood, theyre with you forever, and then theyre gone."PRINCESS DIANA'S BROTHER, CHARLES SPENCER, REVEALS DEVASTATING FAMILY SECRET"Its a really extraordinary thing," the historian reflected.Diana died in 1997 from injuries she sustained in a car crash in Paris. She was 36. At the time, the mother of two was being chased by paparazzi.Spencer noted that grief never goes away."For years after Diana died, I would think, I must ring her and tell her something, because we shared the same sense of humor," he recalled. "And you just realize, of course, thats not going to happen."The author described how his big sister played a key role in his childhood."As your family naturally folds in on itself you lose your parents I have two older sisters who I adore," Spencer explained. "They're quite a lot older than me, so I don't share my childhood with anyone anymore. And that's a great loss you can never really put right."CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERThe world, along with Spencer, watched Diana grow from a shy teenage nursery schoolteacher into a glamorous celebrity who comforted AIDS patients. She instantly became a household name when she married the future King Charles III in 1981, when she was 20 years old. They welcomed two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, before the couple announced their separation in 1992. Their divorce was finalized in 1996.Spencer said that even as a teenager, he felt an urgency to protect his sister from "the photographers who were plaguing her.""I remember just before she died, a female journalist wrote a really horrendous article, because by that stage I dont think that journalist was thinking of Diana as a person," said Spencer. "She was something to make money out of or whatever.""I wrote her an outraged letter and had a bit of to and fro with her," he said. "I think, particularly as a brother of a sister, you always want to get stuck in, really."It was during Dianas funeral that Spencer denounced the ruthless U.K. press that hounded his beloved sibling in her lifetime.Spencer was 42 years old when he first revealed to a therapist he had been sexually abused as a child. At the time, he had "hit rock bottom." Seventeen years later, he detailed the trauma he endured in a memoir, "A Very Private School."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSHe never told Diana about his experience at Maidwell Hall, an elite English boarding school. But as he struggled with loneliness away from his family, he often thought of his sister."She was the closest person to me growing up," he told Fox News Digital in 2024. "We had two much older sisters and a baby brother who had died. Then there was Diana and me. We were very close. And, actually, that was one of the devastations of being sent away. She was sent a year ahead of me, but for the first few years of my life, we went everywhere together."WATCH: PRINCESS DIANAS HAIRDRESSER RECALLS THEIR LASTING FRIENDSHIP"We did everything together," he shared. "We went to a very gentle primary school together, a day school, [before boarding school]. She was an absolutely lovely older sister to a little boy whose parents were divorced and had quite a traditional English upbringing. We were allies."At the time, a spokesperson for Maidwell Hall didn't immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. It previously told "Today" that it has notified authorities who investigate crimes against children. School officials are also encouraging any past students with similar experiences to come forward.Today, Spencer hopes the school will now deal with its past "in an honest way.""I would tell [my younger self] it wasnt his fault," Spencer said. "As a child, youre always thinking its your fault. I used to think I must have failed as a son to be sent away to such a place and not be part of the family. But I would tell him, Youre fine. Youve come out on the other side."
