"Throughout the day it was kind of getting a little bit more stricter getting a little bit more hostile with their voices they never said anything about getting disqualified, but it was kind of implied by the tone of their voice and the way that they said things."Since the controversy at the prelims, the Trump administration has put California and Gov. Trump heads to Capitol Hill to push 'big, beautiful bill'
President Donald Trump is headed to Capitol Hill on Tuesday to push Republicans toward passing his "big, beautiful bill."Trump's visit comes as House Republicans are split between spending hawks who want to cut more of the deficit and moderates who are seeking expanded tax deductions for Americans. Trump himself pushed tax cuts in a statement on Monday."If we don't get it, that means the Democrats will have stopped us. And that means people will get a 68% tax increase, the largest in history. And if we do get it, we're going to have the largest tax decrease in history," Trump said. The House Rules Committee is set to vote on the bill just after midnight tonight after the House Budget Committee approved the bill earlier this week.ANTI-ABORTION PROVIDER MEASURE IN TRUMP'S 'BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL' COULD SPARK HOUSE GOP REBELLIONIf the legislation passes through the House, it will face another perhaps tougher battle in the Senate, where some lawmakers have floated breaking up the bill to pass certain priorities more quickly.Trump urged Republicans to "STOP TALKING, AND GET IT DONE" in a post on social media this week.BROWN UNIVERSITY IN GOP CROSSHAIRS AFTER STUDENT'S DOGE-LIKE EMAIL KICKS OFF FRENZYTrump will attend the House Republicans' weekly meeting on the Hill, but it is not clear whether he will meet with individual holdouts directly.Meanwhile, Democrats argue the legislation is a handout for the wealthiest Americans."They literally are trying to take health care away from millions of Americans at this very moment in the dead of night," House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries said Monday."If this legislation is designed to make life better for the American people, can someone explain to me why they would hold a hearing to advance the bill at 1 a.m. in the morning?" he added. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan fiscal watchdog group, estimates that the House bill is shaping up to add roughly $3.3 trillion to the debt over the next decade. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Rare mint allergy leaves woman wishing she was 'allergic to peanuts' instead
A Virginia archaeologist who is allergic to mint said her reaction is so severe that she's been hospitalized because of a stranger's "toothpaste breath" from three feet away.Kyleigh Digiovanni, 25, of York, Virginia, has found it painful to brush her teeth ever since she was a child, but her family initially thought she was just being "fussy," she shared with news agency SWNS. (See the video at the top of this article.)When Digiovanni started to tell family members that her toothpaste "burned" and when she got red rashes on the inside of her mouth at age 10 she went to see a doctor.MAN IS ALLERGIC TO 28 DIFFERENT FOODS, SAYS LIFE IS 'INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT'Testing revealed Digiovanni's mint allergy. She also has reactions to lavender, rosemary and thyme.Digiovanni said she spent two years unable to brush her teeth while her family searched for a non-menthol toothpaste. These days, she's brushing her teeth with a blue raspberry-flavored fluoride-based toothpaste for children.Over time, it seems that her allergy worsened to the point that she can't be anywhere near people chewing gum or using mint cough drops. She said she's been hospitalized 12 times in the last year, including an episode in November when a co-worker who used mint toothpaste accidentally breathed on her.WOMAN WHO IS 'ALLERGIC TO EVERYTHING' CAN ONLY EAT THESE 2 THINGSDigiovanni said she carries an oral medication to stop her from going into anaphylactic shock."They can treat me quickly," she said, referring to hospital healthcare professionals. "I was in for a couple of hours. They pump me with antihistamine and adrenaline."That makes public transportation "like playing Russian roulette with five bullets in a chamber," she told SWNS."There are reasons I walk everywhere," Digiovanni said. "If I go on the train, I wear a mask."Dr. Neeta Ogden, an allergist and immunologist in Edison, New Jersey, told Fox News Digital that while these kinds of allergies are rare, they do exist."Allergy is strange like that," said Ogden, who is not involved in Digiovanni's care.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTER"You can definitely find stories where you're like, 'Huh, I never heard of that.' Director Wes Anderson confused by Trump's 100% foreign-produced movie tariffs proposal
Filmmaker Wes Anderson mocked the "interesting" idea of President Donald Trump enforcing a 100% tariff on foreign-produced films on Monday. While promoting his new film "The Phoenician Scheme" at the Cannes Film Festival, Anderson was asked about Trumps proposal earlier this month to slap tariffs on films produced outside the United States.Anderson, whose film was partially shot in Germany, was confused by the idea and wondered how it could even be enforced.LIGHTS, CAMERA, TARIFFS: WILL TRUMP'S PROPOSAL TO BOOST AMERICAN FILM JOBS WORK? AMERICANS AREN'T SURE"The tariff is interesting because Ive never heard of a 100% tariff before," Anderson told reporters. "Im not an expert in that area of economics, but I feel that means hes saying hes going to take all the money. And then what do we get? So its complicated to me. Can you hold up the movie in customs? It doesnt ship that way."Anderson, known for his unique directing style and such hits as "The Grand Budapest Hotel," then admitted that he was "not sure" about the tariff itself and wanted the full details before giving an "official answer."Despite Trumps announcement, the White House later said there were "no final decisions" on how to address foreign filmmaking but added that it was "exploring all options" to promote domestic productions and "Make Hollywood Great Again."Opinions have largely been split on the idea of a 100% tariff on films and whether it could help the entertainment industry. Fellow film director Richard Linklater also responded to questions on the tariffs at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, though he had harsher criticism for Trump.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"I mean for the tariff, thats not going to happen, right? The guy changes his mind 50 times in one day, whatever. Its the one export industry of the U.S., itd be kind of dumb," Linklater said.In a rare collaborative tone, California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom offered support for Trumps efforts to "Make America Film Again." He has instead proposed a $7.5 billion federal tax credit program to incentivize TV and film production.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Woman faces risk of rare spinal condition after yoga pose led to slipped discs
Doctors told a U.K. woman shes at risk of developing a rare spinal condition due to a yoga pose she did years ago, according to news agency SWNS.Terrilyn Griffiths, 44, from Lowestoft, Suffolk, exhibited early signs of cauda equina syndrome (CES, a dangerous form of spinal nerve damage) in January 2024 when an MRI revealed slipped discs in her back, stemming from yoga-induced back injuries."I was showing my ex's kids how to do a standing bridge pose when my back gave way," she said of the initial incident in 2021.SITTING STILL FOR THIS AMOUNT OF TIME IS RELATED TO HIGH RISK OF NECK PAIN, STUDY SAYSAt first, Griffiths "thought nothing of it," but then she began experiencing back pain two weeks later, often feeling like she "would collapse at the waist.""It didn't help that I worked a laborious job, and I had to carry heavy materials around all day," Griffiths, who worked in a factory at the time, told SWNS.She pushed through the pain for six months until it subsided, leading her to think it had eventually "healed on its own."WOMAN WITH 5% CHANCE OF SURVIVAL AFTER SKI ACCIDENT MAKES 'MIRACLE' RECOVERYBut the pain resurfaced almost two years later in June 2023. "I had a physical week at work, and my back went right before I had a horse-riding lesson," she said.Griffiths eventually went to the doctor in January 2024, when she learned she had early signs of cauda equina syndrome, which can cause pain, weakness and incontinence, per Cleveland Clinic.Doctors referred the woman to a physiotherapist, but Griffith said "nothing has helped." She is not eligible for a corrective surgery because she doesn't present any "red flag symptoms" characteristic of the condition.During this time, Griffiths was experiencing dexterity issues in her hands, weakness in her hip and groin area, altered sensation in her saddle region and a semi-paralyzed bladder, per the SWNS report. She also "struggles to walk" and is unable to travel more than a single flight of stairs without having pins and needles. After working with the physiotherapist for nine months doing small exercises, Griffiths said the pain across her back only got worse.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER"CES is traumatic and life-changing," said Griffiths, who is now housebound."Not many people seem to know much about it, which has made getting the right treatment harder and now it has taken my life away.""I feel as if there's little hope for me in the future," she added.According to the U.K.'s National Health Service, if the condition is not addressed early, it can result in life-changing injuries.Griffiths is now raising funds for private consultations, travel expenses and support at home. For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/health"I have started looking into getting the surgical procedure elsewhere maybe abroad to decompress the area," she said. "But I wish more people were more aware of incomplete and partial cauda equina syndrome.""Perhaps things would have been different for me."

Expert reveals how companies are rebranding 'toxic' DEI policies to skirt Trump-era bans: 'New wrapper'
EXCLUSIVE:As the Trump administration and Republicans across the country push to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies across the board, the executive director of a top consumer advocacy group spoke to Fox News Digital about what companies and institutions are doing to skirt those efforts."Over the last few months, we've sort of seen a phase shift in the ways that they're trying to keep this DEI grift going," Consumers Research Executive Director Will Hild told Fox News Digital about companies, organizations, hospitals and other entities that are attempting to rebrand DEI and environmental, social and governance in the Trump era."At first, they just pushed back on, tried to defend DEI itself, but when that became so obvious that what DEI really was was anti-White, anti-Asian, sometimes anti-Jewish discrimination in hiring and promotion, they abandoned that," Hild said. "Now what they're trying to do is simply change the terminology that has become so toxic to their brand. So we're seeing a lot of companies move from having departments of DEI, for example, to departments of belonging or departments of inclusivity."Several major companies have publicly distanced themselves from DEI in recent months as the new administration signs executive orders eliminating the practice while making the argument that meritocracy should be the focus.RED STATE TREASURER REVEALS WHY STATE FINANCIAL OFFICERS HAVE 'OBLIGATION' TO COMBAT ESG, DEIHowever,FOX Business exclusively reported in April on Consumers Research warning that some businesses appear to be rebranding the same efforts rather than eliminating them."It is the exact same toxic nonsense under a new wrapper, and they're just hoping to extend the grift because a lot of these people, I would say most of the people working in DEI are useless," Hild told Fox News Digital.KEY BIDEN AGENCY DROPPED $60K ON OVERSEAS CONFERENCE WITH DEI WORKSHOP: 'SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN'"They are mediocrities who have managed to get very high-level positions that they're not qualified for by running this DEI grift, and they're desperate," he continued. "They can't just move into running logistics for Amazon because that takes actual competence and intelligence and if you're in a DEI department, you probably don't have either of those things. So they are desperate to keep this grift going so they can justify their own existence. So they're changing it into a new wrapper."Hild, who spoke to Fox News Digital at the State Financial Officers Foundation conference in Orlando, Florida, also explained some of the other issues Consumers' Research is focused on going forward, including fighting "woke" hospitals in three different areas.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"One is net zero pledges and activities that raise costs for consumers, patients having to pay more because these hospitals are investing millions, sometimes tens of millions of dollars, into green boondoggle projects that have nothing to do with the treatment of patients and the improvement of their health, but they do raise prices," Hild said.Secondly, Hild said that his group is concerned about DEI quotas at hospitals.Hild explained that the third and "worst" issue is transgender surgeries and procedures being forced onto children."Pushing of radical left transgender ideology onto kids, and not just pushing it ideologically and rhetorically, but pushing it physically, and what I mean by that is the injection of damaging, lifelong damaging hormones into children to, quote, unquote, change their sex, which is impossible, and even worse, the actual surgical application, removal and mutilation of their genitals, which is a grotesque violation of the Hippocratic Oath," Hild said.Consumers' Research has been actively involved in launching advertising campaigns against hospitals across the United States, including a recent campaign against Henry Ford Health in Michigan, calling out what it says are situations where hospitals are putting "politics over patients."

GOP senator says federal government will 'need to play a big role' after tornadoes ravage Midwest
Sen.Josh Hawley, R-Missouri, said Monday that local communities are facing "devastation" and that the state will need Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding "at the least" after violent tornadoes took dozens of lives over the weekend.Hawley, who spoke to Fox News Digital on the phone while walking through Missouri neighborhoodsravaged by the storms, emphasized that "a lot of people are hurting.""These aren't just pieces of real estate," Hawley explained. "I mean, these are homes that people grew up in. These are neighborhoods where families raise their kids going back two, three, four, generations. I talked to one guy who had been in the neighborhood. His family had been in the neighborhood since his great-grandmother came there at the turn of the last century.""Unless they're going to need to be rebuilt, the federal government is going to need to play a big role here with FEMA relief, disaster relief, and we want to get all of that as soon as possible," he said.53 MILLION BRACE FOR SEVERE STORMS MONDAY WITH WIND GUSTS UP TO 80 MPH LIKELYFox Weather reported that the rating of the powerful storm wasat least an EF-3, turning homes and businesses in its path into rubble. At least 26 people werekilled over the weekend across the region. Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said the death count in Kentucky alone sits at 19, and Hawleys office said the count in Missouri was at least 7."We have lost 19 people to this weather event, each one a child of God who will be missed by their families," Beshear said in apost on X. "Please keep praying for them, the 10 individuals being treated at UK Hospital, and for everyone affected by these storms."DAMAGE ASSESSMENTS CONTINUE IN KENTUCKY, MISSOURI IN WAKE OF DEADLY TORNADO OUTBREAKHawley's push for FEMA assistance comes as Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has called for eliminating the agency as it exists today. In addition to calling for federal assistance, Hawley was also quick to point out private insurance providers will need to step up and fairly pay out claims to assist with recovery efforts, noting he is separately "in the middle of an investigation of the major insurance companies.""I talked to person after person today whose roofs have been ripped off, whose windows are bashed in," Hawley told Fox News Digital. "These people need to get their policies paid out. They've been faithful premium holders, faithful premium payers. They need the policies paid out. And that's something that's going to make a huge, huge difference."FEMA TRUMP, LAWMAKERS AT ODDS OVER WHETHER FEMA SHOULD BE ELEVATED TO CABINET-LEVEL AGENCY OR COMPLETELY OVERHAULEDRecovering from the devastation could take some time in local communities, and it was reported that roughly 700,000 lost power across the region during the height of the storm.Hawley's request comes amid the Trump administration's outspoken intention to overhaul, cut, or even eradicate the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Acting Administrator Cameron Hamilton was reportedly ousted and "no longer serving at his capacity" earlier this month as internal shakeups at the agency illustrate its uncertain future. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) also reduced the workforce of AmeriCorps by 85%, an agency which works with FEMA to assist in disaster relief.Trump's intentions to overhaul or eliminate the agency comeafter widespread criticism of FEMA under the Biden Administration's handling of natural disasters like Hurricane Helene and others toward the end of the 46th president's term.HOW TO WATCH FOX WEATHER"I expect that our governor will soon make an emergency request for disaster relief, and we'd certainly hope that FEMA would act on that. ASAP," Hawley added.
