WWW.FOXNEWS.COMGrowing wave of Minnesota school officials urge state to protect girls' sports as Trump's deadline arrivesThe list of Minnesota school board members who have signed a letter urging state agencies to protect girls' sports from trans athletes has multiplied since it launched earlier this week.As of Friday afternoon, the number of school board members to sign the letter was 245, spanning 104 school districts across the state. The same list had just around 40 signatures on Tuesday. The added signatures come as the state faces a Friday deadline from the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) to amend its policies to keep biological males out of girls' sports. The DOE determined the state violated Title IX with its current policies at the end of September.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe letter is addressed to Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Commissioner Willie Jett, Minnesota State High School League Executive (MHSSL) Director Erich Martens and board President Brett Schimek, and Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. Gov. Tim Walz is copied on the letter."Compliance with Title IX is not only a legal obligation but also essential to maintaining the integrity of our educational and athletic programs," the letter reads."Protecting fairness in womens sports is paramount. The federal determination highlights how permitting males to compete on female teams displaces female athletes from podiums, denies them advancement opportunities, and diminishes their visibility and recognition in competitions."Female students in our districts and across Minnesota deserve equal chances to excel in sports, free from unfair physical advantages that biological differences confer. By entering into the resolution agreement, MDE and MSHSL can ensure equal treatment and foster an environment where female athletes can thrive."Ellison responded to the letter, insisting that letting males in girls' sports, "doesn't harm anyone.""School sports arent just a good way to get exercise, they help kids build friendships, make them feel like they belong, and teach them important life lessons, like how to work as a team, how to treat their competition with respect, and how to win with grace and lose with dignity," Ellison said. "Letting the very small number of transgender students in Minnesota play on their school sports teams doesn't harm anyone, but segregating them does. Exclusion is a violation of the Minnesota Human Rights Act, which has protected the rights of trans kids to participate in all extracurricular activities for decades.INSIDE GAVIN NEWSOM'S TRANSGENDER VOLLEYBALL CRISIS"I, too, am concerned about the Trump administrations threats to cut education funding for kids across Minnesota, but this matter is before the court right now," he added. "The federal government's threats violate the U.S. Constitution, Minnesota law, and Title IX itself. Im fighting to prevent these harmful cuts, stop the Administration's bullying of transgender kids who just want to live their lives in peace, and protect the rights and freedoms of all our students in Minnesota."Ellison's response comes despite the fact multiple girls' high school student-athletes in his state have spoken out about how the experience of facing trans athletes has impacted them, while some have even filed a lawsuit over the issue.Three anonymous girls filed a lawsuit against the state's education agencies in the spring after having to compete against a transgender softball pitcher. One of the plaintiffs previously told Fox News Digital about what it was like playing against the trans pitcher."This issue has affected me in ways that I never imagined. Its simply unfair, and I hate that nothing is happening to change that," the player said. "Boys should not be able to take girls' spots on teams just because they are capable of doing so. I hope that more girls affected by this issue will stand up against this."Another anonymous player directly called out Ellison for supporting the policies that have allowed the trans pitcher to play against females."Its really upsetting to know that [Ellison] isnt taking the rights of girls and women seriously. He is allowing boys to compete with girls, and it is not safe and completely unfair," the player previously told Fox News Digital. "To know that AG Ellison is in complete support of letting boys and men take advantage of females in sports is absolutely disgusting and wrong."Former White Bear Lake High School softball player Kendall Kotzmacher previously told Fox News Digital that losing to a trans pitcher in the state tournament left her in tears."How do you acknowledge that you lost to a biological male? How do you process those events that happened? And that was something that entire night, I still couldn't do it. We lost to a biological male in a female state tournament," Kotzmacher said.Kotzmacher also pointed out Walz's history as a high school football coach, and seeing the physical prowess of male high school athletes up close."As a coach, you should see the differences and the vast difference that there are between biological males and biological females," Kotzmacher told Fox News Digital. If Minnesota's state agencies do not agree to an amendment with the Trump administration by the end of Friday, it will likely result in a lawsuit from the Department of Justice (DOJ).The DOJ has already filed similar lawsuits against Maine and California over the issue. The MDE and MSHSSL did not immediately respond to Fox News Digitals request for comment.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Comments 0 Shares 5 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMJay Jones text scandal sparks donation surge as GOP group pours millions more into VA raceFIRST ON FOX: A top fundraising group in the Virginia election doubled its investment in the states attorney general race following the revelation of Democrat Jay Jones violent text messages, a sign that the controversy could be having concrete effects on his candidacy. The Republican Attorneys General Association invested $2.5 million in Republican incumbent Jason Miyares on Friday, after dropping $2 million in the race earlier this week, Fox News Digital has learned. Those figures bring the groups total contributions to Miyares to a historic $8.5 million.Spokesman Adam Piper said the texting incident has driven new interest from donors, which has allowed the group to up its investment in the race.YOUNGKIN PRESSES DEMS TO PUSH JAY JONES OFF VIRGINIA AG TICKET AFTER 'BEYOND DISQUALIFYING' MESSAGES SURFACEPiper, the group's executive director, said the Republican Attorneys General Association has been "all in" on Miyares from the outset but that the text messages "completely changed the dynamics" of the race."Jason Miyares is surging in the polls and RAGA has been overwhelmed with millions in new donations, allowing us to double our investment in Virginia over the last week," Piper told Fox News Digital. The group has outspent all other political committees up and down the gubernatorial race ticket, according to the most updated data from the Virginia Public Access Project. It also broke its prior record of $7 million, which it spent on their attorney general candidate in 2017.WINSOME EARLE-SEARS RELEASES TWO BULLETS AD SCATHING OPPONENT FOR FAILING TO DEMAND JAY JONES OUSTERThe incidence of down-ticket donations overshadowing those for the governors race comes after Jones, a lawyer and former state delegate, fantasized in newly surfaced texts from 2022 about the violent death of a Republican lawmaker. The GOP attorneys general group this week released internal polling, conducted Oct. 6-7 by Cygnal, that found a sharp drop of 21 points in Jones' favorability compared to one month ago. The poll found Miyares leading Jones by two points with one month until Election Day.At the top of the ticket, recent polls have shown Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger leading Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears by roughly ten points while the attorney general race is slightly tighter. With early voting well underway, it is unclear how much, if it all, the texts from Jones will hurt him and other Democratic candidates' chances of winning in a blue-leaning state. Jones has apologized for the texts but continues to face fierce backlash over them.In addition to the new fundraising headwinds, Jones has been hit with widespread calls by Republicans to drop out of the race amid a heightened national concern over political violence. Democrats, including Spanberger, have disavowed the texts but stopped short of asking Jones to bow out.0 Comments 0 Shares 5 Views 0 Reviews

"The Real Legacy of Charlie Kirk," the flyers headline said.EXPERTS WARN LEFTIST CELEBRATIONS OF CHARLIE KIRK'S DEATH SIGNAL A DANGEROUS MAINSTREAM SHIFT IN POLITICSSDS has been active so far this year organizing counter-protests, including in July when protesters clashed with conservatives at a Turning Point USA event in Tampa Bay, Florida,Fox News Digital reported. In January,Fox News Digital reported that an SDS-related protest at a Turning Point USA event featuring a womens rights speaker at the University of Washington devolved into chaos when protestersproceeded to bang on the windows of the classroom where the event was held, shattering one window.A noisemaker was thrown into the building, and a pulled fire alarm resulted in several moments of confusion and an eventual evacuation from the building, despite no visible fire, shortly after.JIMMY KIMMEL CLAIMS HIS COMMENTS ON CHARLIE KIRK'S ALLEGED ASSASSIN WERE 'MALICIOUSLY' MISCHARACTERIZEDThe Minnesota SDS chapters website, which doesnt appear to have been updated since 2016, describes SDS as an "organization of progressive young people" that is seeking to "create a sustained community of educational and political concern; one bringing together liberals and radicals, activists and scholars, students and workers."Posts this year on the groups Facebook page include instructions on how to identify and report ICE agents, mourning the "genocide" in Palestine, picketing with the Teamsters Union, and the organization of an event on Independence Day called, "F The Fourth."Fox News Digital reached out to SDS at UMN for comment.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPA spokesperson for the University of Minnesota told Fox News Digital that SDS is "not affiliated with the University nor is this an official university event.""As a public institution, the University is an open and public place that provides reasonable access to spaces on campus that are open to the public, subject to reasonable time, place and manner restrictions. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMAccused Charlie Kirk assassin wants to ditch jail clothes for upcoming court appearancesTyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on a Utah college campus a month ago today, has asked a judge for permission to wear civilian clothes in court and to appear without shackles and cuffs. In a 21-page motion, the 22-year-old Robinson's attorneys invoked Idaho student murderer Bryan Kohberger's case in their argument that the motion would preserve his constitutional rights to a fair trial. They also asked for a closed-door hearing on the issue of physical restraints."In the face of worldwide scrutiny, permitting Mr. Robinson to wear civilian clothing for court appearances is a minor inconvenience compared to the already present concerns with securing a fair trial before an impartial jury," his lawyers wrote to Judge Tony Graf.WHAT WILL BE TYLER ROBINSONS DEFENSE STRATEGY? EXPERTS WEIGH IN ON ACCUSED CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINVideo of the assassination circulated widely online minutes after Kirk was shot through the neck while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University Sept. 10. The 31-year-old was a married father of two."With each development in the case generating thousands of articles and comments online, the likelihood of potential jurors seeing and drawing conclusions regarding Mr. Robinsons guilt and or deserved punishment from obvious signs of pretrial incarceration will only increase," his lawyers continued.CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATION SUSPECT AWAITS CHARGES AS UTAH RESIDENTS DESCRIBE ALLEGED KILLER AS VERY QUIETRead the filing:They argued that "the repeated and ubiquitous display" of photos showing their client in a jail jumpsuit "will inevitably lead to prospective juror perception that he is guilty and deserving of death."On the other hand, they wrote that Robinson has been well-behaved in custody and has no prior criminal record.Within 33 hours, Robinson was taken into custody on charges that include aggravated murder, obstruction and witness tampering. He could face the death penalty if convicted.Robinson allegedly stashed the murder weapon near the crime scene, and police say they found his DNA on it. They also accuse him of taking responsibility for the crime in messages to his family, friends and his trans romantic partner, who is cooperating with detectives.Robinson has not yet entered a plea. He's due back in court Oct. 30.0 Comments 0 Shares 25 Views 0 Reviews
