And we hope you have a great night."The pastor, his wife and their three young daughters then came out to the front porch, placed their hands on the woman's shoulders and prayed for her."When she was explaining herself I really felt the love of God for her and wanted to do anything I could to relieve any pressure and anxiety she was [feeling]," said Seiwert.DEMI TEBOW WARNS AGAINST SOCIAL MEDIA FOR SELF-WORTH, POINTS TO BIBLE'S PERFECT PLAN FOR EACH LIFEHe said he learned to trust having compassion for a stranger, adding that it can be "an opportunity to shine our light and help someone experience love."Seiwert added, "I didn't want her to experience just our family's love, I wanted her to experience God's love too."The moving moment was captured on their Ring camera and eventually shared on social media garnering over a half million likes on Instagram and over five million views.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTER"Jesus, we thank you for Susanna, and Lord, I thank you that we crossed paths tonight," Seiwert prayed. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMNude men in locker rooms: Earle-Sears blasts Spanberger over transgender locker room stance in heated debateLt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears pulled no punches in her attack on her Democratic opponent in Virginia's gubernatorial race, former Rep. Abigail Spanberger, when a Thursday night debate turned to the topic of transgender issues and locker rooms."We know that girls want to have privacy," Earle-Sears said. "[Spanberger] voted for men nude in girls locker rooms, in bathrooms, and in girls' sports."Turning to Spanberger, she asked, "Are you going to change in a gym where men are nude in the locker rooms? Are you going to do that?"ELON MUSK WADES INTO VIRGINIA TRANSGENDER BATHROOM CLASH, SAYS DEM GOV CANDIDATE WRONGLY BLAMING TRUMPEarlier this month, Gov. Glenn Youngkin issued an executive directive ensuring bathrooms, locker rooms and other intimate spaces remain separated by sex assigned at birth. The directive also instructs the state Board of Health to bar biological males from competing on female athletic teams. When asked, point-blank, whether she would rescind that directive, Spanberger sidestepped the question and refused to give a definitive answer."My answer is that in each local community decisions should be made between parents and educators, and teachers in each community. It shouldn't be dictated by politicians," Spanberger responded. "I'm a mother of three daughters in Virginia public schools, and nothing is more important to me than their safety and their experience in schools," Spanberger added in response to questions about her stance on transgender issues.VIRGINIA LT. GOVERNOR ON WHY HER STATE IS AT RISK OF LOSING FEDERAL FUNDING OVER TRANSGENDER BATHROOMS"Nude men in locker rooms that's what this is about," Earle-Sears maintained."There should never be nude men in locker rooms," Spanberger eventually said."We finally have her saying that! But you voted for that!" Earle-Sears shot back. "Are we in agreement now?""I'm going to answer the question my opponent refused to answer," Earle-Sears said. "I will not rescind the governor's executive order."Throughout the debate, Earle-Sears sought to address Spanberger directly, but Spanberger would not bite.In addition to Spanberger's evasiveness on Thursday night, the Democratic Party candidate similarly side-stepped questions about transgender issues while on the campaign trail leading up to the debate. When Fox News Digital previously reached out to Spanberger in August, about her views on transgender students' access to bathrooms, the former Virginia congresswoman did not address the issue directly.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"As a mom of three daughters in Virginia public schools, a former federal law enforcement officer, and a candidate for governor, Abigails priority is ensuring that all of Virginias kids are safe and supported," a representative for Spanberger said at the time. "While Abigails opponent, Winsome Earle-Sears, stokes division and backs the Trump administrations threats to strip funding from Virginia schools, as Virginias next governor, Abigail will work to protect public school funding, address the Commonwealths chronic teacher shortage, and contend with our last-in-the-nation math recovery ranking."Outside of Youngkin's executive directive, issues related to transgender bathroom and sports looms large across the commonwealth. In August, five Northern Virginia school districts were found by the Department of Education to be in violation of Title IX for failing to roll back policies allowing transgender students. Last month, a federal judge dismissed lawsuits brought by two of the districts, seeking to challenge the Trump administration's finding that places restrictions on the districts' federal funding unless they make a change.Meanwhile, a case involving two Virginia boys who were suspended and found liable by their school for sexual harassment, after being caught on camera complaining to each other about a transgender classmate using their locker room, is also currently playing out in federal court right now.0 Comments 0 Shares 7 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMJohn Candy believed he was living 'on borrowed time' before his sudden death: sonJohn Candy believed he was living "on borrowed time."On March 4, 1994, the comedic star was found dead of a heart attack while filming "Wagons East!" in Durango, Mexico. He was 43. The late actor is now the subject of a new documentary directed by Colin Hanks and produced by Ryan Reynolds, titled "John Candy: I Like Me." It features numerous interviews with those who knew and loved Candy, including Bill Murray, Tom Hanks, Steve Martin and Catherine OHara. Candys children, Jennifer Candy and Chris Candy, serve as producers."The documentary highlights how he did think he was on borrowed time," Chris, 41, told Fox News Digital.MACAULAY CULKIN SAYS JOHN CANDY WAS RARE HOLLYWOOD ALLY DURING TROUBLED CHILDHOOD WITH MONSTER FATHER"I remember Carl Reiner referred to it as a sort of Damocles swinging over his head. But I think for Jen and me, looking back [on] the work and the help that weve had for ourselves . . . it takes a lot of growing up to realize, I can change things. I can grow. I can thrive. I dont have to feel like Im cornered. But it takes a lot of work.""One of the main things that I really appreciate and take away from this film is that he really was trying to turn the boat around toward the end of his life," said Chris. "He was taking better care of himself. But it takes a long time to really do that effective work. And of course, we wish we had gotten more of that time. But the fact that the effort was there, the attempt was there on a real level, was, I think, the main goal of what we wanted to get out about our dad."The documentary revealed that at the time of his death, Candys crippling anxiety was at its worst. He suffered an anxiety attack on the way to the set of "Wagons East!" but kept it to himself. Soon after, he died in his sleep."When I heard how they found him that he had sat up on the side of the bed, opened the Bible and was reading from it before passing away I remember thinking how he was trying to find home," recalled his close friend Don Lake in the film.Chris told Fox News Digital that his father quietly struggled with his growing anxiety in his final years.WATCH: THE SINNER STAR BILL PULLMAN REFLECTS ON HIS FRIENDSHIP WITH JOHN CANDY: HE TOOK ME UNDER HIS WING"He never talked about it, but we knew it was happening," said Chris. "The anxiety was manifested in him so strongly. My mom and he went to see a couples therapist, and then they went into their own therapy. And then it was like the kids needed to get into it. But this was part of self-care, like going to the doctor. And there are so many different methodologies for this type of work.""But I also have to say, it doesnt need to be therapy," he shared. "Its just the concept of being open. It could be your best friend. It could be your partner. Thats another thing we wanted to get across. Jennifer and I got started a little earlier, and thankfully we did because I think it helped both of us become who we are."Candy was haunted by a painful past. He was five years old when his father, Sidney Candy, died suddenly of a heart attack at age 35, days before the actors birthday. The film noted that theres a family history of heart disease. While Candy turned to performing to cope with the loss, the thought of death never left him. The film revealed that when his pal John Belushi died of a drug overdose in 1982 at age 33, Candy was visibly shaken and frightened. As his fame grew, so did the scrutiny around his weight. Jennifer, 45, told Fox News Digital that the film also aimed to show her fathers journey to self-acceptance."Like Del Griffith, he knows hes imperfect," she said, referring to her fathers character in the 1987 film "Planes, Trains & Automobiles."CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERChris said that during production, he became a detective in his fathers life story. He was eight years old when the patriarch died."I think what was the most surprising . . . was realizing the connective tissue between me and my father," he said. "This idea of genes and inheritance and psychological inheritance and how there are so many things that he grappled with, how many things or behaviors of his that I feel on a day-to-day basis that I wasnt aware that he felt.""We joke about it, but I am notoriously 15 minutes late for things, or Im very casual with time," he chuckled. "He had that same trait in his 20s and 30s. His friends called him No-Show. My friends call it Candy Time. Thats a small thing, but he wasnt there to teach me to be that casual with time. It was moments like that where Im like, Oh my God, theres so much that we have in common. And he wasnt around to tell me to be that way."In the documentary, Candy was depicted as a gentle giant a hardworking, devoted family man who prioritized the needs of others over his own. Friends wondered if Candy knew his time would be short."I seem to recall him saying, I dont know if Im going to make it past 35," Eugene Levy said in the film.LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSJennifer said she wasnt surprised that Candy was considered Hollywoods nice guy."I think that has to do a lot with his upbringing and his family," she explained. "The people he surrounded himself with were also very important. And being Canadian, people do joke about that."My dads family growing up had their flaws, but they were also, at the core, good people. They cared for each other and watched each others backs. Those core values stuck with our dad. He and our mom had very similar values. My mom also kept him grounded. And I think the way you treat people, its really important. You get farther that way in life."As Candy later struggled with his mental health, friends were concerned about his worsening physical health. Candy was self-conscious about his weight, which was reported to be more than 300 pounds at one point. His widow, Rosemary Candy, described in the film how he tried to lose weight, only to be told by Hollywood executives to pack on the pounds for roles. She worried about how the stress of a grueling Hollywood schedule was impacting her husbands heart.Pals admitted that Candy often resisted advice. He still attempted to overcome his smoking, drinking, and overeating."I remember John going through doctors like cigarettes," friend Dave Thomas said in the film. "A doctor would tell him, Youve got to lose weight, youve got to stop drinking. John didnt want to hear that."Candys children didnt just cry sad tears while making this film there were plenty of joyful ones, too. For them, they witnessed a life cut short, but well lived.Even Murray, 75, admitted,"I wish I had some more bad things to say about him, but thats the problem when you talk about John. He was good to people."One of Jennifers favorite moments was learning how Candy spent a night out with Jack Nicholson and then shot his racquetball scene in the 1984 film "Splash" while hungover."You can see in the film how he survived it not very well," she chuckled. "And the fact that our dad said it only took three takes for him to get knocked on the head with a racquetball. Did he learn his lesson? Yeah. But if we were asked to party with Jack Nicholson, wed probably say yes."0 Comments 0 Shares 7 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMOzempic and similar drugs could interfere with common medical procedure, research warnsResearchers have revealed a surprising new side effect linked to GLP-1 agonists, such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Zepbound. These popular treatments for diabetes and obesity could interfere with medical imaging, such as PET and CT ("CAT") scans.CT scans are often used to get detailed internal images to detect injuries, tumors or other abnormalities, according to Cleveland Clinic. A typical use of PET scans is to examine organs and tissues, detect cancer activity or monitor how the body is responding to treatment.DANGEROUS 'GRAY-MARKET' WEIGHT-LOSS DRUGS FLOODING US AS EXPERTS WARN OF RISKSIn the case review, presented this week at the 38th Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine in Barcelona, Spain, researchers analyzed cancer scans of patients who were taking GLP-1 medications, according to a press release. They found some "atypical" scan results that could be mistaken as signs of disease."We noticed an unusual uptake in one of our patients on a GLP-1 agonist, which prompted a wider review across our network," lead author Dr. Peter Strouhal, medical director at Alliance Medical Ltd in the U.K., stated in the release."We found that these altered patterns are increasingly common, yet there is currently no national or international guidance in the U.K. addressing this emerging issue."Misunderstanding these scan results can lead to extra tests, incorrect cancer assessments and delays in treatment, which can cause stress and anxiety for patients, the release noted."Knowing how GLP-1 medications can affect scan images helps doctors avoid confusion and unnecessary procedures, so patients get the right care quickly and confidently," Strouhal said.Despite these findings, the researchers said they dont recommend that patients stop taking GLP-1s prior to having a scan but they did emphasize that imaging teams should consider patients medication use when interpreting scan results.Looking ahead, the research team plans to gather more data from global imaging centers to strengthen these findings.Sue Decotiis, M.D., a medical weight-loss doctor in New York City, pointed out that the results of the study are still very preliminary."They just noticed an increase, but it didn't mention which organs or specific body parts," Decotiis, who was not involved in the study, told Fox News Digital."It will be important to see more data from many more patients to understand exactly what they saw. It's something we'll keep an eye on in our industry, but more information is needed."Adam Wolfberg, M.D., chief medical officer at Virta Health in Massachusetts, also reflected on the study.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER"GLP-1s have many effects on the body, and one of them is altering the way glucose is metabolized," Wolfberg, who also did not take part in the study, told Fox News Digital. "Since the tracer agent used in these PET scans contains glucose, uptake of the agent a metabolic dye of sorts can be impacted.""Interpretation of the corresponding images would require knowledge of this clinical background."He echoed, however, that he doesnt think this finding is a "big deal.""PET scans are always interpreted in the context of the whole patient," Wolfberg said. "A skilled oncologist or radiologist would always take into account a patient's medical history as well as the medications they are taking when reading this type of scan."For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/healthWolfberg agreed that much more data would be required before these observations should impact medical practice.Fox News Digital reached out to the researchers for comment, as well as to manufacturers of GLP-1 medications.0 Comments 0 Shares 13 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMBari Weiss faces uphill battle to reshape CBS News as network buries coverage of growing Virginia Dem scandalBari Weiss has been tasked with leading CBS News into a modern, post-partisan era, but old habits die hard as the network continues to bury a political scandal rocking Virginia during her first week on the job.On Monday, Weiss was formally named editor-in-chief of CBS News after her outlet, The Free Press, was acquired by Paramount for $150 million, according to multiple reports. She will be reporting directly to Paramount's new CEO, David Ellison. In a memo to CBS News employees, Weiss listed ten "core journalistic values" she wants practiced, including holding "both American political parties to equal scrutiny." Ellison similarly expressed that he wanted to tamp down the "partisan division" in his own memo to Paramount staff. That message doesnt appear to have resonated with the rank and file, at least not yet. According to show transcripts reviewed by Fox News Digital, CBS News has yet to provide any on-air coverage of the growing controversies plaguing Jay Jones, the Democratic nominee in Virginia's attorney general race.BARI WEISS JOINS CBS NEWS AS EDITOR-IN-CHIEF, PARAMOUNT BUYS FREE PRESS FOR $150 MILLIONLast week, text messages sent by Jones in 2022 to a fellow lawmaker surfaced showing him fantasizing about giving then-Republican House of Delegates Speaker Todd Gilbert "two bullets to the head," even suggesting that if Gilbert witnessed the murder of his own children that it would encourage him to pivot on policy. Jones has since apologized.Other controversies have emerged, including allegations that Jones had said if more police were killed it would reduce the shootings of civilians, which he denied. And after a reckless driving conviction in 2022, Jones served 500 hours of "community service" to his own Political Action Committee.LIBERAL MEDIA DOWNPLAYS SCANDAL OF DEM VIRGINIA AG HOPEFUL JAY JONES' TEXTS FANTASIZING MURDER OF GOP LAWMAKERThe political fallout remains unclear. Jones' troubles could impact Virginia's gubernatorial race as his Democratic ballot running mate Abigail Spanberger maintains a lead in the polls against her Republican rival, incumbent Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears. While Jones hasn't had any Democratic officials call on him to withdraw from the race, he was forced to cancel a fundraiser.Neither "CBS Mornings," "CBS Evening News" nor its Sunday program "Face The Nation" mentioned Jones through Thursday, according to transcripts. The network did publish an article and referenced the story on its little-watched streaming platform.A CBS News staffer told Fox News Digital that Jones was mentioned in editorial discussions, but was stumped as to why the network's morning and evening newscasts avoided the subject.DePauw University journalism professor Jeffrey McCall says Weiss' directive may not work on "activist journalists," pointing to the soft coverage of the Jay Jones scandal as an early example."Her task is not just about changing isolated news decisions," McCall told Fox News Digital. "She will have to change the entrenched culture that led to CBS long-running tendency to lean left."What stories CBS News chooses to cover and not cover on its airwaves and how it frames the political news of the day have alienated large swaths of the country, particularly in the era of Donald Trump.BARI WEISS BEING NAMED TOP CBS NEWS EDITOR CAUSES LIBERAL MEDIA TO MELTDOWNAhead of the 2020 presidential election, "60 Minutes" correspondent Lesley Stahl famously dismissed Hunter Bidens scandalous laptop during a contentious exchange with Trump."This is '60 Minutes' and we can't put on things that we can't verify," Stahl scolded Trump. CBS News ultimately verified the laptopin 2022.Fast-forward to the 2024 election, "60 Minutes" was engulfed in a much bigger controversy, this time involving its handling of an interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump sued CBS News alleging "election interference" after the network was accused of swapping one of Harris' "word salad" responses ahead of a "60 Minutes" primetime election special after a preview clip that aired on "Face The Nation" went viral among her critics.A raw interview transcript that was later released revealed both sets of comments that aired came from different portions of the same answer. While CBS News denied wrongdoing, Paramount made a multimillion-dollar settlement in July hoping it would pave the way for its $8 billion merger with Skydance, which Trump's FCC approved days later. And as part of the settlement, CBS News updated its policies that would require programs to release unedited transcripts of interviews with presidential candidates.PARAMOUNT, CBS FORCED TO PAY EIGHT FIGURES, CHANGE EDITORIAL POLICY IN SETTLEMENT WITH PRESIDENT TRUMPThat wasn't the only election controversy CBS was involved in. The network was panned by conservatives for how anchors Norah O'Donnell and Margaret Brennan moderated the vice-presidential debate between then-Ohio Sen. JD Vance and his Democratic rival, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.Despite CBS announcing that it would not allow live fact-checking during the debate, the moderators repeatedly fact-checked Vance and even cut off his mic at one point.CBS DEBATE MODERATORS PUMMELED FOR OBNOXIOUS FACT-CHECKING OF VANCE: A TERRIBLE LOOK'Brennan, host of "Face The Nation," has particularly irked conservatives for her combative exchanges with Republicans, including Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Her reputation has taken such a hit that she won this year's "Liberal Hack Tournament," the annual viral NCAA-style contest run by the Ruthless podcast.CBS News faced internal strife when far-left staffers fumed over "CBS Mornings" co-host Tony Dokoupil for daring to challenge anti-Israel author Ta-Nehisi Coates in a tense interview last year. Things got so bad that CBS News leadership at the time scolded the Jewish anchor and forced him to meet with the networks in-house Race and Culture Unit following complaints, saying his interview did not meet the companys "editorial standards" (noteworthy as Weiss and Ellison are both staunch supporters of Israel).Just last month, CBS News anchor John Dickerson said that the motive behind the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk remained "elusive," despite reports about the alleged assassin's leftist ideology.CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSIN'S MOTIVES REMAIN 'ELUSIVE,' CBS NEWS ANCHOR CLAIMSWeiss' meteoric rise to the top of one of the storied legacy media institutions is leaving liberal journalists incensed. Weiss famously quit The New York Times in 2020, writing a scathing resignation letter in which she detailed bullying by colleagues in what she called an "illiberal environment." In 2022, she launched The Free Press, which has largely been ostracized by the cultural left for its reporting that challenges DEI, gender ideology and media narratives against Israel in its war with Hamas.Staffers who spoke with Fox News Digital are open to "fresh ideas" Weiss may bring to CBS News, although she still has her detractors at the network, particularly after her first appearance on the network's editorial call Tuesday, where she made the rallying cry, "Let's do the f---ing news.""I feel like the people that wrote her off probably are further in their corner," one staffer told Fox News Digital. "The people that are open to her, I think, are still open."Many of her liberal critics in the media claim Weiss is a "conservative" who will bend the network's knee to Trump, even though she has openly criticized him on her "Honestly" podcast. Some also believe her appointment by Ellison was part of an arrangement Paramount made with Trump to resolve his lawsuit.CLICK HERE FOR THE LATEST MEDIA AND CULTURE NEWSStatus newsletter author Oliver Darcy, who helped lead the charge to oust CNN CEO Chris Licht when he attempted to reform the liberal cable network, has criticized Ellisons move to put Weiss in charge."Ellison vowed not to politicize Paramount yet his first big move at CBS News is a major bet on Bari Weiss, one of the most polarizing figures in media," Darcy began his newsletter Wednesday night. "Weiss, the stridently pro-Israel, proudly anti-'woke' culture warrior, has built her brand on polarizing political commentary supposedly the type of material Ellison signaled to reporters that he wishes to run away from."CBS News did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPFox News Digitals Kristine Parks and Lindsay Kornick contributed to this report.0 Comments 0 Shares 28 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMThe Kavanaugh assassination plot deserved far more than 8 yearsWhats the going rate for attempting to assassinate a Supreme Court justice these days?According to a Biden-appointed judge in Maryland, its 97 months just over eight years, less time than youd serve for many nonviolent crimes.Judge Deborah Boardmans shockingly lenientsentencefor Nicholas Roskes attempt to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh represents not just a failure of justice, but a danger to our system of self-government.Recall what the assassination attempt was about and what preceded it. In March 2020,onthe day of oral argument in an abortion case (June Medical Services v. Russo), then-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer stood in front of the Supreme Court building andthreatenedtwo justices:THE SUPREME COURT BETRAYED AGAIN THIS TIME FROM THE BENCH"I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind, andyou will pay the price. You wont know what hit youif you go forward with these awful decisions."It was appalling rhetoric and an attempt to intimidate the justices. Two years later, the ultimate abortion case arrived at the court:Dobbs v. Jackson Womens Health Organization. In early May 2022, the draft opinion was leaked, presumably in an effort to thwart the coming overturning ofRoe v. Wade. Roskes assassination attemptonKavanaugh and arrest occurred a month later,onJune 8.Roskes immediate motive, of course, was to change the composition of the Supreme Court and thus the outcome of theDobbscase. It is impossible to overstate the gravity of this offense not just attempted murder, but an act of domestic terror and a grave assaultonour system of government.I WITNESSED CHARLIE KIRKS ASSASSINATION. THE DANGER THAT THREATENS AMERICA IS CLEARAnd it turns out that Kavanaugh wasnt hisonly target. Roske said he hoped to murder three justices in order to derail the court.Recent years have brought repeated acts of political violence against conservatives: the serious wounding of Rep. Steve Scalise, the attemptsonPresident Donald Trumps life, and the assassination of Charlie Kirk are the most prominent examples. The recent deadly shooting at an ICE facility in Dallas came at the hands of a sniper whotargetedICE agents. And just this week, a man with 200 explosives wasarrestedoutside St. Matthews Cathedral in Washington soon before the Red Mass, which traditionally has been attended by several justices. The perpetrator was found with a manifesto that suggested that his targets were members of the Supreme Court and Catholics.Consider against this backdrop the betrayal of Judge Boardman, a Biden appointee. Notonly did she depart well below the sentencing guidelines for the attempted Kavanaugh assassin, she injected her own political views to do so basedonRoske claiming transgender status.NETWORKS CANT HANDLE TRUTH BEHIND CHARLIE KIRKS ASSASSINATIONNicholas Roskeannouncedto the court in September that he identified as a she and preferred the new first name of "Sophie" a preference the judge indulged. Boardmans explanationmade clearthat the sentence she imposed was motivated by her opposition to President Trumps executive order mandating that biological males be held at male-only federal prisons.Boardmans political views should have had no bearingonsentencing. And it is really disturbing that Roskes mental health concerns and gender dysphoria were given as a literal "Get Out of Jail Free" card. That is not how our justice system should work.Boardman also downplayed Roskes conduct, calling him "genuinely remorseful" and noting that he abandoned his plan and surrendered to authorities. Perhaps.CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONBut its also possible that Roskesawthat Kavanaughs home was protected by law enforcement, and that he was about to be caught after beingspottedby deputy U.S. marshals. If he was calling 911 as damage control, it worked.Roske flew from California to assassinate three sitting Supreme Court justices, and apolice searchof his suitcase and backpack after his arrest "revealed a firearm; black tactical chest rig and tactical knife; two magazines, each containing 10 rounds of ammunition; 17additional rounds of ammunition; pepper spray; zip ties; a hammer; screwdrivers; a nail punch; a crowbar; a pistol light; duct tape; hiking boots with paddingonthe outside of the soles; and lock-pick tools, along with other items."These facts are inconvenient for those who downplay this shocking crime.Roske has already served three years in custody, and could be out of prison in as little as three more years when eligible for parole. At that point, we can expect his targets to be notonly still living, but stillonthe court. It is hard to overstate how dangerous that is.Fortunately, the Justice Department is appealing the sentence. Failing to punish violence with appropriate severity invites more violence in this case, violence that strikes at the heart of our governing institutions. That is why the Roske sentence is a national disgrace.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM CARRIE SEVERINO0 Comments 0 Shares 30 Views 0 Reviews

It was the first time the Giants had won a Thursday night game since 2015, and it was just the fourth time in their last 22 meetings, including the playoffs, the Giants beat them.TRAVIS KELCE IS 'TERRIFIED' OF HIS DAD HEARING TAYLOR SWIFT'S RAUNCHY SONG; KYLIE KELCE REACTS TO ITFor the cherry on top, the Flyers lost their first game of the new NHL season to the two-time reigning Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers.According to Bob Ventrone Jr., this was the eighth time in which the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers all played on the same day, and the first time they all lost since Oct. 16, 1983. This was also the first time they had all played since 1993.In 1991, the Flyers salvaged the day with a tie to the Pittsburgh Penguins after the Phillies lost to the New York Mets, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers squeaked out a win against the Birds. The only time they all won was on Oct. 19, 1980.There has never been a day when all four teams (the 76ers) have played on the same day.At least the locals still have a Super Bowl championship they can still lavish in, but the Eagles have now lost two in a row and do not look anything like they did last season.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Comments 0 Shares 9 Views 0 Reviews

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMSenate leaves Washington as government shutdown nears 3rd week, military pay at riskThe Senate is set to leave town on Friday until early next week as neither side is ready to give in the ongoing government shutdown stalemate.Lawmakers voted deep into the night on Thursday on the 2026 National Defense Authorization Act, which advanced on a largely bipartisan vote. But the $925 billion package, which authorizes funding for the Pentagon, was effectively the last hurrah for the week in the upper chamber. While there was discussion of putting the House GOPs continuing resolution (CR), along with congressional Democrats counter-proposal, on the floor for one last vote, the plan never came to fruition. Both would likely have failed for an eighth consecutive time.SENATE DEMOCRATS BLOCK GOP PLAN AGAIN TO REOPEN GOVERNMENT AS MILITARY PAY DEADLINE LOOMSSenate Republicans and Democrats will instead return on Tuesday next week, after observing Columbus Day, to continue the ongoing back and forth on the GOPs CR following a week of trying and failing to pass the bill and reopen the government.Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., plans to continue bringing the Republicans bill to the floor in an effort to fragment Senate Democrats. So far, only three Democratic caucus members have consistently split from their largely unified party.Talks have continued in the background behind closed-doors, but nothing has quite yet materialized into full-blown negotiations on expiring Obamacare, formally known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), tax credits to find an off-ramp as the government shutdown barrels into a third week."The ACA issue is important to a lot of us, not just to Democrats," Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said. "The tax subsidies were enhanced during COVID. They do need to be reformed, but they do need to be extended as well."SENATE ADVANCES 2026 DEFENSE BILL AFTER WEEKS OF DELAY AS SHUTDOWN DRAGS ONSen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., is one of a handful of Republicans consistently meeting with Democrats. He said hes not meeting with lawmakers "so dug in that they can't get off their position," but still, no movement across the aisle has happened.Mullin and other Republicans want to pass their short-term CR until Nov. 21, while Senate Democrats are adamant that, unless there is a deal on the ACA subsidies, they wont provide GOP with the votes to reopen the government."Well, if it continues, the way it's gone, the longer we go, the harder it is," Mullin said. "It's a big task. Anything to do with ACA or healthcare, you get a lot of moving parts. I think that gets very difficult the longer this thing [goes on]. You get into next week. I mean, we've got four and a half weeks left, right, and so that timeframe keeps getting shorter."Their return next week also all but guarantees that members of the military will not receive their paychecks on time, given that the date to have payroll locked in and processed falls on Monday."Certainly, if folks miss a paycheck, the intensity will go up," Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.V., said. The continued gridlock has most in the Senate GOP unwilling to consider turning to the "nuclear option," a move they made last month when they unilaterally changed the Senates rules for confirmations on nominations to break through Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and his caucus blockade of President Donald Trumps nominees, to change the filibuster.SENATE GOP RESISTS 'NUCLEAR OPTION' AS DEM SHUTDOWN STANDOFF DEEPENS"There's always a lot of swirl out there, as you know, from, you know, social media, etc., but no, were not having that conversation," Thune said. But not every Republican wants to ignore nuking the 60-vote filibuster as, day in and day out, the GOPs plan to reopen the government falls five votes short.Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, said that if the shutdown continues, it's an option that should be considered."Look, 50%, 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck," he said. "We're going to trip that wire next week. Now if there's another paycheck that's probably 80% of Americans that can't go without two paychecks in a row. I think at that point we have to look at it and say the Democrats are still doing political stunts."Republicans also found a new point of attack against Democrats. Schumer told Punchbowl News in an interview that "Every day gets better for us," in his assessment of Senate Democrats political momentum as the shutdown marches onward."Who is us? Not better for the American people," Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said. "Who does he mean by us? Not the military who is not getting paid. Not the Border Patrol who are not getting paid. Not the air traffic controllers who are not getting paid. Who is us? Hes playing a game!"But Senate Democrats are largely shrugging off the issue. Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, contended that it was Republicans' latest attempt to "change the topic from 114% increase in premiums," a point Democrats have argued could happen if the Obamacare tax credits arent extended."They're a little desperate to change the news cycle, and this is their latest attempt," Schatz said.0 Comments 0 Shares 9 Views 0 Reviews
