Browns trade Joe Flacco to Bengals amid Cincinnati's QB struggles
The Cincinnati Bengals are desperate to save their season. After Jake Browning lost each of his first three starts following Joe Burrows injury, the Bengals acquired Joe Flacco from the Cleveland Browns. The teams announced the deal later Tuesday.Flacco was recently benched by Cleveland in place of Dillon Gabriel, and with the Bengals quarterback situation, it became apparent that Flacco might be expendable.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMTREVOR LAWRENCE'S STUMBLING TOUCHDOWN CAPS LAST-MINUTE DRIVE TO GIVE JAGUARS WIN OVER CHIEFSIn four games this season, Flacco completed 58.1% of his passes for 815 yards, two touchdowns and six interceptions.Browning took the place of Burrow following his turf toe injury in Week 2, which will cause him to be out until at least December. He threw for 241 yards and two touchdowns in his first game of the season (against three picks) but threw for only 265 yards in his next two combined.Browning bounced back against the Detroit Lions on Sunday with 251 yards, three touchdowns and three more picks, but it was not enough in their 37-24 loss.Cincinnati is 2-3 on the season after missing the playoffs last year, but it does not appear that their defense has improved much. In fact, it might be worse. After allowing 25.5 points per game last season, they are allowing 31.2 this year, the third-worst mark behind the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens. This now makes Shedeur Sanders the backup quarterback in Cleveland - despite Gabriel being named the starter, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski had named Flacco the backup. The move figures to make Flacco the starter in Cincinnati, but nothing is yet official. The current backup with Burrow's injury is Brett Rypien.Things are not getting much easier for the Bengals, who travel to Green Bay this weekend to face the Packers before hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers the following Thursday.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Deep blue New Jersey amid 'Lord of the Rings' moment to 'save the state' from Democrats: Scott Presler
New Jersey is in the midst of a "Lord of the Rings" moment as Republicans work to rally voters to flip the deep blue state red in a tight gubernatorial election that's coming down to its final days, Republican activist Scott Presler told Fox News Digital in an exclusive Zoom interview."To anyone who thinks that New Jersey is not winnable this November, I want to remind you that in 2021, that election was decided by 84,000 votes," Presler told Fox News Digital in a Zoom interview Monday afternoon. "Six hundred thousand Republicans did not vote in that election. That election was winnable. Did you know that there are 250,000 gun owners in New Jersey that are not registered to vote? If simply every Second Amendment supporter got registered and voted, we would flip New Jersey from blue to red."Presler is on a "flip it red" mission in the Garden State, registering voters and promoting GOP candidate Jack Ciaterelli's campaign against Democrat candidate, Rep. Mikie Sherrill, in an off-year election that could add to the Democratic Party's mounting woes following 2024's ballot box losses or preserve the party's legacy in the longtime blue state.Presler is the founder of Early Vote Action, a PAC he operates that focuses on voter registration and rallied support for President Donald Trump's campaign and the GOP in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania during the 2024 election. The Republican activist spent months criss-crossing the Keystone State to rally support for the TrumpVance ticket before the battleground ultimately threw its support behind the GOP on Election Day.BLUE STATE GUBERNATORIAL NOMINEES TRADE BARBS OVER CRUCIAL ISSUE WEEKS AHEAD OF ELECTION DAYPresler has since crossed the Delaware River into New Jersey, where he's targeting the longtime blue state with conservative activism."We just won a landslide victory for Donald Trump, winning all seven swing states and winning the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with our work at Early Vote Action. In December of 2024, I announced that we were going to focus next on helping to flip the New Jersey governorship from blue to red. So we have currently, 14 full-time staff on the ground across New Jersey's 21 counties. We have been working tirelessly all throughout 2025, helping to register voters. And our message is: leave no county untouched," he said, explaining he and staff are not only focused on deep blue counties ahead of the election, but also on reinvigorating voters in rural and right-leaning counties.New Jersey is in the midst of a "Lord of the Rings" or "Star Wars" moment, Presler said, saying voters have the chance to "save their state" and pointed to data showing how Republican support has increased in the state."This is their opportunity to save the state. This election in 2025 is gonna be seen as a referendum. The final opportunity, this is your Lord of the Rings,' This is your Star Wars moment when people have the chance to save their state," he said.CIATTARELLI UNLOADS ON MIKIE SHERRILL IN NJ TOWN HALL, CITING IMMIGRATION AND NAVAL ACADEMY: NOT A CENTRISTNew Jersey voted to elect former Vice President Kamala Harris as president nearly a year ago. Trump, however, made big inroads with Garden State voters, flipping five counties red, and improved on his 16-point loss in the state during the 2020 election to a six-point loss in 2024."Every month besides June, when that party switching was happening, Republicans have gained in an off-year election when the Democrats are spending more money than us and in a blue state. That shows me that I think the tide is changing, and I think that we have wind at our backs," he said.Presler rattled off that New Jersey voters have become increasingly incensed by the state's notoriously high property taxes, its spiraling energy rates and even its ongoing ban on plastic bags at checkout lines that have spurred some residents to abandon Democrats in favor of the GOP ticket."Republicans, we must be that common-sense home, that common-sense party, that we are going to bring down property taxes, which is hurting New Jersey families and that's the number one issue that I hear about," he said. "That we wanna bring down electricity prices, the number two issue that hear about from voters. And voters also want the third common-sense issue, which is law and order. They want us to deport and arrest criminal illegal aliens that are committing crimes against New Jersey voters. And from being on the ground this last year in 2025, I think you're gonna see a huge amount of independent and Democrat voters vote for Jack because of those three common sense policies."The activist pointed to one former Democrat voter and teacher he chatted with at a fair in Sussex County, New Jersey a rural area of the state that borders both New York and Pennsylvania who remarked Democrats had become so "extreme" in their views that he left the party and is considering casting a red vote.REPUBLICAN AIMING TO FLIP BLUE STATE RIPS DEM RIVAL FOR BLAMING 'EVERYTHING ON TRUMP"They have become so extreme, so radical in their beliefs, even when it comes to things like allowing children to change their gender at such a young age. He says that he wants nothing to do with that party anymore," Presler said of what the voter relayed to him. "And after a conversation I had with him, he's even willing to give Jack Ciattarelli a closer look. And so that just shows me that Democrats are fleeing their former party. And they're looking for a new home."Gen Z, the youngest American generation that is able to vote, played a pivotal role in delivering Trump a victory in 2024, with Presler saying male Gen Zers, specifically, are moving more to the right in New Jersey's gubernatorial election. The GOP activist pointed to another resident he chatted with during the Monmouth County, New Jersey, Fair over the summer, an 18-year-old who was not yet registered to vote."When I am talking to a voter, I really want to get into the mind and the head of the voter. And I was just asking him some questions. Hey, would you like to own a home one day?' And he was saying, Yeah I want to but gosh the property he said this, not me 'the property taxes are so high here,'" Presler recounted."As I'm just talking to him, I'm really discerning most of his beliefs. I think all of them really are congruent with the Republican Party. And so I'm courting him, and I'm asking for his vote for Jack Ciattarelli, and I am asking him to register to vote. And it's young men like that man that I think you're going to see who carried Donald Trump to victory in 2024, a lot of those some voters are gonna come out this year," he added.NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR'S RACE: DEMOCRAT SHERRILL LEADS REPUBLICAN CIATTERELLI BY SIX POINTS IN 2026 BELLWETHERSherrill is in the midst of facing a campaign scandal after a report in September revealed that the United States Naval Academy blocked Sherrill from taking part in her graduation amid the cheating scandal. The Democrat House lawmaker slammed the release of the report and said she was banned from walking at her graduation because she declined to report classmates who were involved in the scandal."Mikie Cheating Scandal Sherrill," Presler called Sherrill. "She voted against (the Laken Riley Act). She has no plan to bring down property taxes. She has no plan to bring down electricity crisis prices. And she doesn't know where she made her money, $7 million worth in stock trades. In fact, I would argue that those are the reasons why Democrat turnout is gonna be depressed. Their candidate is uninspiring versus Jack Ciattarelli."Fox News Digital reached out to Sherrill's campaign Tuesday morning regarding Presler's remarks but did not immediately receive a response. On the flip side, Presler said, Trump-endorsed Ciattarelli is offering voters policies that would bring taxes and electricity prices down, ending New Jersey's ban on plastic bags, opposing offshore wind to protect marine life, among other policies."They want to make life affordable for New Jersey voters so they don't have to move to Pennsylvania," he said. "They don't to move Florida. They want to stay in new Jersey. And so really Jack Ciattarelli is offering policies that the residents are responding to."

Georgia prosecutors request 90-day extension to replace Willis in Trump election case
Georgia prosecutors have requested a 90-day extension to appoint a new attorney in the election interference case against PresidentDonald Trumpand 14 co-defendants, citing a heavy backlog and the cases complexity. The Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia (PACGA) has been tasked with replacing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis after she was permanently sidelined from prosecuting the case last month. The councils executive director, Pete Skandalakis, filed an extension request on Friday to name a district attorney pro tempore, writing that said the case file is so large that PACGA doesnt expect to receive it for about four weeks, meaning an appointment may not come until January or February 2026.MAURENE COMEY SUES DOJ FOR 'UNLAWFUL' FIRING, DEMANDS REINSTATEMENTSkandalakis asked the court for up to 90 days after receiving the full case file to make that appointment. He said the council is currently managing 21 pending appointments and has handled 448 conflict referrals statewide so far this year."Due to the complexity of this case and the vast personnel and resources required to handle a case of this nature, it will require time to seek a District Attorney Pro Tempore willing to take on this prosecution," the motion reads."Without having the file, the undersigned cannot intelligently answer questions of anyone requested to take the appointment or to do his own diligence in finding a prosecutor who is not encumbered by a significant appearance of impropriety," the motion said. The request camethree days after a Fulton County judge warnedthat the case could be dismissed "for want of prosecution" unless a replacement prosecutor was named or an extension was requested within 14 days, according to Fox Atlanta.HOUSE COMMITTEE WITHDRAWS JAMES COMEY SUBPOENA FOR JEFFREY EPSTEIN TESTIMONYWhile some early motions and hearings focused on Trump personally, the final disqualification applied to the entire case brought under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act not just to Trumps individual counts. The new motion lists all 15 defendants, including Trump, his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, constitutional law Professor John Eastman and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, among others. Four defendants have already pleaded guilty in the case. The Georgia Court of Appeals in December ruled that Willis and her office could not continue to prosecute the case, citing an "appearance of impropriety" stemming from her romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade.Willis appealed to the Georgia Supreme Court in January, but last month the high court declined in a 4-3 decision to take up the case. One judge didnt participate and another was disqualified.Skandalakis said last month that once a new prosecutor is appointed it will be "up to him or her what to do with the case."That person could continue on the track Willis had taken, pursue only some charges or dismiss the case altogether. Finding a prosecutor willing to handle it could be difficult, given its complexity and the resources required.Even if a new prosecutor tries to follow Willis path, it seems unlikely Trump could be prosecuted now that he is the sitting president.Willis indictment accused Trump of pressuring officials to overturn the 2020 vote in Georgia, organizing "fake electors" and harassing election workers.A Fulton County grand jury indicted Trump and 18 others in August 2023, and Trump surrendered at the Fulton County Jail on Aug. 24. Thats when the now-famous mugshot was taken the first ever for a U.S. president. The pair eventually acknowledged the relationship but argued it had no impact on the prosecution. Wade later resigned, but the controversy persisted and the Court of Appeals ruled Willis and her entire office had to be disqualified due to the appearance of impropriety. The Associated Press contributed to this report.

California's largest high school district adopts policy to oppose trans athletes in girls' sports
The biggest high school district by enrollment and land area in the state of California voted 3-2 to adopt a Title IX resolution that would only allow female students in girls' sports, on Monday. The vote comes as the state's educational agencies face a lawsuit from the U.S. Department of Justice for alleged Title IX violations by allowing biological males to play in girls' sports.Kern High School District regularly enrolls more than 40,000 students and employs more than 1,700 staff per year across its 31 schools. Now, it becomes the 16th school district, individual school or board of education in California to adopt an amendment to comply with Title IX, rejecting the current state policy that protects trans athletes in girls' sports.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe resolution was authored by Chino Valley Unified School District Board of Education President Sonja Shaw. Shaw's district is one of the 16 in California to also pass a resolution on the issue."I authored this resolution to be the voice of our communities to stand with our girls and protect the truth that shouldve never been silenced," Shaw said. "Boys are boys. Girls are girls. God made them beautiful just the way they are. Its time to put fairness, truth, and common sense back into education."Kern County School District, which is separate from Kern High School District but shares a county, was one of the other districts to propose its own resolutions back in August.Trans athletes have been legally allowed to compete in girls' sports under California state law dating back to 2013. President Donald Trump signed the "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports" executive order back in February, but the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) became one of the first high school sports leagues in the country to announce it wouldn't comply with the order.Trump's DOJ announced it would sue the state over the issue back in July, weeks after a trans athlete won two state titles in girls' track and field on the final day of May. The DOJ is engaged in a similar lawsuit with Maine's educational agencies over the same issue, and has given a deadline of Oct. 10 to Minnesota's to change its polices on the issue, otherwise a lawsuit is likely to be launched there too.The state's continued enabling of trans athletes in girls' sports has resulted in several controversial related incidents across the state, and some have resulted in separate lawsuits.INSIDE GAVIN NEWSOM'S TRANSGENDER VOLLEYBALL CRISISIn Riverside County, two girls' cross country runners sued the Riverside Unified School district after a trans athlete took one of their varsity spots. The lawsuit partially advanced past motions to dismiss in September. In that same county, girls' volleyball players have sued the Jurupa Unified School District after spending the previous three seasons sharing a court and locker room with a trans teammate the same athlete who took the girls' track and field titles back in the spring.Gov. Gavin Newsom has openly said he agrees that males competing in girls' sports is "unfair," and has even said he's heard complaints about the issue in his state from "like-minded" parents at his kids' soccer games.Newsom's office previously provided a statement to Fox News Digital suggesting the state's ongoing trans athlete issue is not his responsibility."CIF is an independent nonprofit that governs high school sports. The California Department of Education is a separate constitutional office. Neither is under the Governors authority. CIF and the CDE have stated they follow existing state law a law that was passed in 2013 and signed by Governor Jerry Brown (not Newsom) andin line with 21 other states. For the law to change, the legislature would need to send the Governor a bill. They have not," the statement read.A bipartisan survey by the Public Policy Institute of California found the majority of California residents oppose biological male trans athletes competing in women's sports. That figure included more than 70% of the state's school parents."Most Californians support requiring transgender athletes to compete on teams matching the sex they were assigned at birth," the poll stated."Solid majorities of adults (65%) and likely voters (64%) support requiring that transgender athletes compete on teams that match the sex they were assigned at birth, not the gender they identify with. An overwhelming majority of public school parents (71%) support such a requirement."Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

Alexander Vindmans congressman brother leads off Dems boosting Jay Jones after texts: 'Send a message'
Democratic Virginia Rep. Yevgeny "Eugene" Vindman, twin brother of Trump impeachment figure Alexander Vindman, blasted out to his Twitter followers a call to vote for Democrats Jay Jones and Abigail Spanberger days after texts showed the former referenced killing Republicans.Meanwhile, a House of Delegates candidate in conservative southside Virginia doubles and triples down on support of Jones amid social media pushback. As Jones controversy and campaign unraveled over the weekend, Vindman, D-Va., took to X to issue comments standing behind the entire Democratic ticket."Were just a month out from Election Day in Virginia. Its time for our Commonwealth to send a message that were tired of Republican chaos," Vindman wrote Sunday, two days after texts came to light showing Jones envisioning the murder of then-Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert, R-Shenandoah.YOUNGKIN SAYS DEMOCRAT AG CANDIDATE JAY JONES MUST 'STEP AWAY IN DISGRACE OVER TEXTS ABOUT FORMER GOP LEADERVirginia "make a plan to vote early if you can," he said, adding "for" and the three X handles for gubernatorial nominee Abigail Spanberger, lieutenant gubernatorial nominee Ghazala Hashmi and Jones."Your voice couldnt be more important this year," concluded Rep. Eugene Vindman, who coincidentally holds Democratic gubernatorial nominee Abigail Spanberger's former seat. The post got ratioed by critics, including one telling Vindman, "Nobody is voting for Jay Two Bullet Jones.""Get lost," the man wrote.JAY JONES SAID IF MORE POLICE WERE KILLED IT WOULD REDUCE SHOOTINGS OF CIVILIANS, ACCORDING TO VIRGINIA LAWMAKERAnother respondent posted a meme image of the Harrison family from "Pawn Stars" speaking with a customer and the caption "We need to tone down the political violence rhetoric" "Virginia Democrats: Best I can do is murder your children."A third posted the ubiquitous "Marked Safe From Today" flag meme, with the caption "Virginia Attorney General candidate Jay Jones.""Virginia not for lovers anymore," another wrote, referring to the Old Dominions famous 50-year tourism slogan.Rep. Eugene Vindman's brother Alexander Vindman was a key figure in then-Rep. Adam Schiff's impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump. Schiff defended then-witness Alexander Vindman in congressional hearings after Trump and other Republicans repeatedly condemned the former Ukraine-focused National Security Council staffer. In Washington, Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine also defended his support for Jones, saying he's known the former Norfolk state delegate for 25 years."I think those statements were not in character, and he has apologized I wish other people in public life would sincerely apologize for stuff," Kaine said.At the other end of Virginia, a Democrat running for a seat in Pittsylvania County and vicinity doubled and tripled down on her endorsement of Jones as the controversy continued.YOUNGKIN PRESSES DEMS TO PUSH JAY JONES OFF VIRGINIA AG TICKET AFTER 'BEYOND DISQUALIFYING' MESSAGES SURFACECandidate Melody Cartwright, a former graphic designer at the Virginia Museum of Natural History in Martinsville, lambasted the delegate whom Jones had incidentally texted the invective to and vociferously defended the attorney generalship nominee.Jay Jones "will defend Virginia's rights, healthcare, and education. Stay the course," Cartwright wrote on X, inscribing Jones handle."I stand with (Jay Jones) period. End of statement," Cartwright wrote in a second tweet, both of which were lambasted by critics."Then you stand for a man who fantasizes about the murder of his political opponent's children and wants to kill them, the parents, and piss on their graves," replied former Energy Department staffer Matt van Swol.Another critic said Cartwrights comment wasnt just a show of support but "an endorsement of an (expletive) death-obsessed lunatic.""No one is surprised. By you, by him, or by your entire party. Its who you are," wrote conservative figure Western Lensman.Another reply included a one-second clip of conservative journalist Andrew Breitbart from his CPAC 2012 intro video, saying "War," which had been one of the last appearances by the major right-wing figure before his death just days later. Breitbart's stern-faced delivery of the singular word grew into a memorialization on the right in the time since; depicting the view that the left holds visceral hatred for the right.Virginia Del. Eric Phillips, R-Martinsville, who defeated Cartwright last cycle and faces her again, told Fox News Digital its "not the Virginia way" to even entertain chatter in terms of what Jones referenced in his texts."It's disturbing and disgraceful for my opponent to defend Jay Jones' vile comments," Phillips said of Cartwright."Standing with someone who talks about shooting colleagues in the head, harming their children, and desecrating graves is indefensible," Phillips added."Anyone who excuses or embraces that kind of hate has no business asking to serve in the Virginia House of Delegates."In a separate tweet, Cartwright also bashed Virginia Del. Carrie Coyner, R-Chester, who originally had shared Jones texts with the National Review and Fox News Digital.

Joy Behar argues Trump sending National Guard troops to US cities to stop next election
"The View" co-host Joy Behar argued Tuesday that President Donald Trump was sending National Guard troops to U.S. cities to stop future elections, suggesting Americans may not be allowed to vote."This is a pretext to stop the next election," Behar argued. "That's what I think."The panel discussed Trump's orders to deploy troops to Portland and Chicago, criticizing the move. The president said he would consider invoking the Insurrection Act to deploy federal troops after a federal judge blocked his administration from sending National Guard units to Portland."This is in order to make the case, because in all of their minds, they now believe they have carte blanche to do whatever they want to," co-host Whoopi Goldberg said.CHICAGO ANTI-ICE PROTESTERS BLOCK VEHICLES, GET HIT WITH TEAR GAS AND PEPPER BALLSBehar said, "And if they stop us from voting, thats the one thing people have."Goldberg replied, "Its the one thing that makes us very different from lots of other countries. Police release surveillance video of Kyren Lacy's 'reckless operation' they say led to fatal crash
Louisiana State Police released a "Critical Incident Briefing Video" after Kyren Lacy's attorney provided evidence in an attempt to prove the innocence of the late LSU star on charges he was facing before dying by suicide in April.Lacy was under investigation in Louisiana for a crash in December that left 78-year-old Herman Hall, a passenger, dead. He was accused of driving recklessly speeding and passing in a no-passing zone when the motorist swerved to avoid Lacy and crashed into another vehicle. The video appeared to show that Lacy was driving at "a high rate of speed, passing three passenger vehicles and one loaded 18-wheeler in a designated no-passing zone with a 40 mph posted speed limit," according to police. Lacys attorney, Matthew Ory, said there was "no disputing" that Lacy illegally passed four vehicles, which was also caught on surveillance.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe video then shows bodycam footage of a responding officer speaking to a witness the driver of the red 18-wheeler seen on surveillance. That witness said the driver of a gold truck going north jammed on his or her brakes as Lacys Charger approached, causing a female driver in a Kia Cadenza behind the gold truck to swerve into the southbound lane to avoid the truck. The Cadenza then crashed into the Kia Sorrento carrying Hill, which was going south."Did you see a green Charger flying that way? A green Charger caused all this," said the driver of the 18-wheeler.Police said "numerous witnesses" told responding officers Lacy's driving caused the crash.Another witness said "she had no choice" but to move out of the way, according to police."The other car was trying to pass the other car. I was trying to dodge by not hitting him, by coming around," the female driver told police while being treated for her injuries. One written report said, "I would say [Lacy was traveling at] no less than 80 mph.""The gold truck traveling north veered right to avoid a head-on collision with the green charger. As the gold truck veered right, the driver of the Kia Cadenza saw the approaching green charger. In reaction, the Kia Cadenza driver swerved left into the southbound lane and impacted a northbound Kia Sorrento," police said, adding that the driver of the gold truck "reacted appropriately" to avoid a crash with Lacy.PENN STATE'S JAMES FRANKLIN FACES SCRUTINY FOLLOWING BAD LOSS TO UCLA"All evidence collected supports the conclusion that Lacy's reckless operation of the green Charger into oncoming traffic triggered the chain of events involving the other drivers, ultimately resulting in the fatal crash."Ory said that Lacy could not have caused the crash, considering he was nearly a football field's distance away from the wreck by the time he got back into the correct lane."At the time of impact, hes 72.6 yards behind the vehicles at the time of impact. Key word: behind the vehicles. That is not how this story was ever painted. Never," Ory said.Rocky Arceneaux, Lacys agent, said in January that his client was cooperating with authorities in the investigation.Lacy transferred to LSU in 2022. He had his best season in 2024, when he recorded 58 catches for 866 yards and nine touchdowns.Fox News' Ryan Gaydos contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
