Rifle behind Charlie Kirks killing may be untraceable relic from WWI
Authorities said the gun used in the killing of Charlie Kirk may be adecades-old, untraceable rifle, authorities have said.Prosecutors and officials identified the gun as a Mauser Model 98 .30-06 caliber bolt-action rifle, a type originally manufactured in Germany for military use during both World Wars. It may predate U.S. laws enacted in 1968 following President John F. Kennedys assassination, which required firearms to carry serial numbers or other identifying marks making it harder for law enforcement to trace.Authorities said the firearm belonged to the grandfather of Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old Utah man accused ofassassinating Kirk. Police allege Robinson may have deliberately chosen the rifle because it was difficult to trace.Robinson himself appeared to echo that reasoning in a message to his roommate just hours after the assassination.ENGRAVINGS ON SHOOTER'S AMMO EXPOSES CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSINATION MOTIVE"Im worried what my old man would do if I dont bring back grandpas rifle," Robinson wrote, according to the New York Post. "IDK if it has a serial number but it wouldnt trace to me. Im worried about prints, I had to leave it in a bush where I changed outfits, didnt have the ability or time to take it with."Court documents indicate that the Utah State Bureau of Investigation found DNA on the murder weapon that officials say is consistent with Robinson.KIRK ASSASSIN USED GRANDFATHERS RIFLE TO COMMIT ACT AND PRAISED GUN AFTERWARDS, AUTHORITIES ALLEGEVintage firearms may complicate future investigations due to how easily would-be assassins can obtain such powerful and hard-to-trace weaponry, withmillions believed to be in homes across America. After the wars in Europe, countless American soldiers returned home with German-made Mausers. In the following years, Mauser rifles and other similar models could even be purchased through mail.WHAT IS A BOLT ACTION RIFLE? WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE GUN USED TO KILL CHARLIE KIRKA report from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) notes that it is exceedingly rare for such rifles to be used in crimes. Most gun violence in America is carried out with pistols, while semiautomatic AR-15-style rifles have been used in some of the nations deadliest mass shootings.ATF and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Salt Lake City did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

"He thought he was ending Charlie's life, but he really just created millions and millions of Charlie's followers to fight. To fight for our freedom, to fight for us to have a voice. For me to watch it, it's so sad and it breaks my heart. To see Erika [Charlie's wife] step in as a woman and take on this role, Charlie knew that if he couldn't do it, she was the only one that could do it."CHARLIE KIRK, TURNING POINT USA FOUNDER, DEAD AT 31 AFTER UTAH CAMPUS SHOOTINGChrisley said that Kirk "gave [her] a voice] in times when she felt she didn't have one."I was so excited to get to sit next to Charlie and open up to him and get to know him on a more personal level, like a lot of my friends who got to know him," she said. I know for me, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I don't know where I would be today without it. And so watching Erika, I don't know how she spoke the word of God after losing her husband. German officials condemn store owner who declaredJews banned from entry to protest Israel
A German shop owner in the northern city of Flensburg posted a sign on Wednesday that Jews are banned from entering his store, sparking outrage among state officials in Schleswig-Holstein.Hans-Velten Reisch, the60-year-old owner of the store that sells Gothic-Utensils and technical literature, posted a sign that reads, "Jews are banned from entering here! Nothing personal. No antisemitism. Just can't stand you."Germanys largest daily newspaper, Bild, reported on Thursday that Reisch defended his anti-Jewish sign. He told the paper that "I watch the news every evening. And when I saw what the Jews were doing in the Gaza Strip, I lost my temper and printed out the poster."Israel launched a defensive war against the Hamas terrorist movement in Gaza after Hamas slaughtered over 1,200 people on October 7, 2023, including American citizens.Reisch said the police told him on Wednesday evening that he has to take down the poster. The Schleswig-Holstein Minister of Culture Dorit Stenke and Gerhard Ulrich, the states controversial antisemitism commissioner, took Reisch to task for his reported antisemitism, issuing a joint statement on the state governments website."A sign that denies Jews access to a store is a frightening signal and an attack on the principles of our free coexistence," Stenke said in the statement. She continued, "We cannot allow such things to continue in our society and must take decisive action against it together. Antisemitism is a threat to our democracy and must not be tolerated in any form."IDF KILLS HAMAS TERRORIST IT SAYS WORKED FOR UNRWA, LED CHARGE ON REIM BOMB SHELTER MASSACREUlrich said, "We must stand together against every form of antisemitism," adding, "The fight against antisemitism is a special responsibility that we bear as Germans."The State Prosecutor launched an investigation against Reisch for incitement of hatred. Ulrich filed a criminal complaint for incitement of hatred against Reisch. A total of five criminal complaints were filed against Reisch, according to Bild."Antisemitic hate speech like this not only hurts those affected, but also disrupts public peace. The Flensburg incident, with its contemptuous rhetoric, is fatally reminiscent of the Nazi hate speech against Jews," said Ulrich. The outbreak of Jew-hatred in Flensburg is another example of the growing antisemitism in Schleswig-Holstein, the state officials said. In 2024, 588 antisemitic incidents were documented, an increase of 390 percent over 2023.Ulrich, however, has faced accusations that he has contributed to anti-Jewish and anti-Israel sentiments when he previously served as the Protestant Churchs Bishop for northern Germany.Rabbi Abraham Cooper, the associate dean of the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish human rights organization named after the legendary Nazi hunter, warned about Ulrichs alleged antisemitism in December 2022. Cooper urged Schleswig-Holsteins government to dismiss Ulrich, claiming he "is unfit to denounce the very antisemitism that he unfortunately legitimized and helped to spread in the mainstream of German society."DOSSIER REVEALS INFORMATION USED TO EXPLAIN UN AGENCY'S DEEP TIES TO HAMAS IN GAZAThe former bishop has said, "The name Israel is burdened with the horror and misery of this Middle East war."He also compared Israels security fence with the now-defunct Berlin Wall, suggesting Israel needs to dismantle its security fence. The anti-terrorist fence has saved the lives of thousands of Israelis from Palestinian terrorists coming from the West Bank (also known as the biblical region of Judea and Samaria), according to counter-terrorism officials in Israel.
