WWW.FOXNEWS.COMExpert details how latest injuries to Jayden Daniels, JJ McCarthy could hamper their abilitiesJayden Daniels isn't expected to miss much time, if any, but he may not look like his usual self right away.Fresh off an Offensive Rookie of the Year campaign, Daniels is dealing with a sprain in his knee that Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said will keep him out of practice until Friday. The Commanders split each of their first two games, handling the New York Giants 21-6 in Week 1 before the Green Bay Packers took care of business with a 27-18 victory three days later.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMWhile the Philadelphia Eagles remain the favorite to win the NFC East, the Commanders should be in the mix as long as Daniels is healthy. However, Tom Christ, a doctor of physical therapy and founder of Fantasy Injury Team, said that Daniels' injury could show on the stat sheet, even if he's on the field."So, Daniels is really interesting. They are just vaguely labeling it a sprain, not telling us what tissue is sprained. If you watch the video, he lands on his shin with his knee nearly fully flexed, which is a common way to get a PCL injury, and by their terminology, it probably is Grade 1, which is not terrible at all. You can rehab that and return to play," Christ said in a recent interview with Fox News Digital."But what we see historically is the first couple games, the athlete looks a little bit slow, a little bit hesitant to cut off that knee and a little bit unstable. Daniels is obviously a massive rushing threat, so I would be surprised if he has the same stat-line running the ball and the same effect running the ball the first couple games after he plays. Good news is it's his left knee, so it's not going to affect his ability to push off his right leg to throw the ball. So, can still be effective, but probably not quite as effective on the ground."DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY EXPLAINS WHAT TURF TOE ACTUALLY IS, WHY IT MAY COST JOE BURROW REST OF THE SEASONDaniels rushed for 891 yards, the ninth-most ever by a quarterback and the most by a rookie QB.As for Minnesota Vikings starter J.J. McCarthy, his first year as a starter is not off to an ideal start. After missing his rookie season with a torn meniscus, he is now dealing with an ankle sprain. He, too, may still deal with some lingering effects."The time frame of two-to-four weeks is pretty consistent with a Grade 2 high-ankle sprain, where there is some, what we call, tissue laxity or instability in the ankle," Christ said. "That should be able to get under control, but what can happen there, especially with it being his right ankle, is it can be just a little less firm when he pushes off to throw the ball. So we'll see how long he's actually out for."I believe they have a bye week somewhere in there (Week 6), so a lot of people are speculating he may not return till after that, which, if that's the case, he should be fine by that point, but if they do try to really speed things up, and it's more like a two-week absence, he may have some issues pushing off that back leg initially when he's throwing."Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 11 Views 0 previzualizare

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMTennis legend Martina Navratilova reacts to Jimmy Kimmel being pulled off air after Charlie Kirk commentsFormer women's tennis star Martina Navratilova fired off a series of social media posts on Wednesday seemingly in response to news that Disney pulled talk show host Jimmy Kimmel off the air after he made controversial comments about Charlie Kirk's assassination.Navratilova is known as a highly outspoken liberal as a former athlete. She expressed objection to Disney's removal of Kimmel from his show, in a series of X posts.Navratilova also re-shared a handful of X posts referencing the situation involving Kimmel.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMOn Monday, Kimmel accused conservatives of reaching "new lows" in trying to pin a left-wing ideology on 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson, even though prosecutors reaffirmed those ties in Tuesdays indictment."We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said.Kimmels comments came one day after both FBI officials and Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said that Robinson held a "leftist ideology" and was increasingly radicalized in recent years. It was also revealed that he had a romantic relationship with a transgender partner who was biologically male and transitioning to female.Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr then issued a threat against Disney if it didn't address the controversy.FCC CHAIR LEVELS THREAT AGAINST ABC, DISNEY AFTER KIMMEL SUGGESTED CHARLIE KIRK ASSASSIN WAS MAGAAppearing on Wednesday's "The Benny Show," Carr called Kimmel's comments "some of the sickest conduct" and suggested there were potential "avenues" the FCC could pursue."In some quarters, there's a very concerted effort to try to lie to the American people about the nature of one of the most significant newsworthy public interest acts that we've seen in a long time in what appears to be an action by Jimmy Kimmel to play into that narrative that this was somehow a MAGA or a Republican-motivated person," Carr told host Benny Johnson.Nexstar Media Group, which owns hundreds of television stations, announced earlier it would preempt Kimmel's show on its ABC affiliates starting Wednesday night "for the foreseeable future" and would replace it with other programming over his comments about alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson.News of Kimmel's removal from air was then confirmed by Disney later on Wednesday night."Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-empted indefinitely," a Disney spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital.Fox News Digital's Joseph A. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMAmericans cheering accused killers shows dangerous 'dehumanization' of opponents, Douglas Murray warnsAlleged killers Tyler Robinson and Luigi Mangione appeared in court this week on murder charges, drawing not only headlines but a surprising wave of public support. The sympathy is raising questions about why some Americans are willing to justify violence."The terrorists and the assassins and the murderers now have this growing number of people who seem frankly, as I wrote in The Post the other day, to treat life as if it's some kind of computer game," said Douglas Murray, a New York Post contributor on "Americas Newsroom"."As though you just take people out and there's no consequences."Mangione appeared in a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday on charges related to the December killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. He faces multiple state and federal charges, though some of the top counts against him were dropped.APPARENT LUIGI MANGIONE SUPPORTER CLAIMS SHE'S 'MARRIED' TO HIS 'AI' AT COURTHOUSE RALLYVideo from outside the courthouse showed Mangiones supporters cheering after the decision.Murray said that while killers in the past sometimes attracted fringe sympathies, whats different today is the chorus of "excuses" now being made by both ordinary Americans and prominent politicians."So many people have made excuses for him when it's really a very straightforward case. Do people have the right, or should they be justified, in taking things into their own hands and murdering other Americans in cold blood on the street? Yes or no?"LUIGI MANGIONE FACES JUDGE AS POLICE WARN BUSINESS LEADERS OF RISING ASSASSINATION RISKSHe added that even political figures have made those excuses, pointing to Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warrens comments on Mangiones supporters. She told the Huffington Post: "Violence is never the answer, but people can only be pushed so far."Murray also linked the reaction to Mangiones case with support Robinson has drawn since the death of political activist Charlie Kirk last week. Like Thompson, Kirk was a husband and father who was shot and killed."As if a legitimate extension of having a disagreement or an imagined disagreement with somebody over healthcare, over politics, whatever, could ever justify somebody picking up a gun and murdering," said Murray.FLASHBACK: CHARLIE KIRK WARNED OF LEFT-WING 'ASSASSINATION CULTURE' MONTHS BEFORE HIS MURDERHe argued this shift reflects a broader culture of dehumanization accelerated by social media."We have to address this thing of why so many segments of the political left have been able to dehumanize their opponents," he said."We also have to address this question of why so many people, including some prominent politicians in this country, have made excuses for the use of violence."President Donald Trump has made similar comments in the wake of Kirks death, calling out the role social media plays in radicalizing people. He told reporters that there are "deep, dark holes" online he considers "cancerous."Murray agreed that addressing the online environment is critical."It means that the faceless person online can get away with making their opponent faceless as well, and taking away their life for nothing and no reason."0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 30 Views 0 previzualizare
