Jessie James Decker's unique military roots help her raise strong, 'resilient' kids
Jessie James Decker credits her unique military roots to her approach to motherhood. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, the 37-year-old mom-of-four who recently partnered with Rocket Mortgage and USO for their "Homefront Heroes"initiative opened up about how her upbringing played a major role in raising "resilient" kids and explained how her mom's view on life helped shift her own mindset."I don't know that my mom would ever say that there were any challenges [being a military spouse]," Decker, whose father served in the Air Force, said. "She's the most positive person, so she looked at the whole experience as the most incredible adventure, and she was just the most proud military spouse you could ever imagine. She was so happy to be part of it. She loved what her husband did for this country, and she never complained once."JESSIE JAMES DECKER DIDNT WANT TO SHARE SWIMSUIT PICS AFTER WELCOMING BABY 3 MONTHS AGO: EASY TO COMPAREDecker, who was joined by her mom, Karen Parker, for an Instagram Live session on Friday in celebration of Military Spouse Appreciation Day, said her mom's approach to parenting inspired her own way of doing things."I can honestly tell you when it was time to move, she was like, Time to go! and we would just box everything and roll to the next place," Decker told Fox News Digital. "She always did it with a smile on her face."CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERWhile the moves made her "resilient and adaptable," Decker admitted it was challenging at times but her mom was always there to carry the burden and make things fun."I think just her positive attitude and her ability to, she always had this way about her and made everything feel at ease," she continued. "So something that maybe would've been stressful for the family, she was able to kind of spin on it, you know what I mean?""When we moved, she would do things like, 'OK, we're in a new place and let's find the top five fun things about this city and let's go do them, or let's learn about them, or let's go to the library. Let's get books on the new place that we're going to be moving to and let's all just spread out on the carpet let's look it all up.' She was always very positive. And so I feel like I've definitely instilled that in my children, where I make everything fun and exciting, and I'm able to put a twist on anything that may be tough."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? And every single baby that I've brought into this world has been an incredible journey to motherhood, and I just cannot believe what my body has done. It's just unbelievable.""I am proud of my body because when you have four children, you do want to feel healthy, and you do want to feel strong, because I want to have the energy to be the best mother that I can be, and I want to be healthy, and I want to set that example to my children," she added. "So it is a true statement. I am proud of my body more than I ever have, but it is more than just the surface."

Trump and China close in on trade deal after productive talks, Bessent says
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Sunday that the Trump administration has made progress in its trade negotiations with China."We will be giving details tomorrow. "But I can tell you that the talks were productive," Bessent told members of the media on Sunday from Switzerland. "We had the vice premier, two vice ministers who were integrally involved, Ambassador Jamieson [Greer] and myself. And I spoke to President Trump, as did Ambassador Jamieson last night, and he is fully informed of what is going on."The Trump administration has leveled tariffs as high as 145% on Chinese goods as the president looks to bring parity to the nation's chronic trade deficit with foreign countries. Trump paused his April 2 reciprocal tariff plan on dozens of nations as countries called on the administration to make trade deals, but he upped the ante on China after Beijing rebuked Trump's trade policies with tariffs of its own, including 125% duty taxes on U.S. goods.Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer met with their Chinese counterparts this weekend in Switzerland to discuss the countries' economic futures, which Trump addressed in a Truth Social post on Saturday evening.TRUMP SAYS 'TOTAL RESET NEGOTIATED' WITH CHINA DURING TARIFF TALKS IN GENEVA"Many things discussed, much agreed to. A total reset negotiated in a friendly, but constructive, manner. We want to see, for the good of both China and the U.S., an opening up of China to American business. GREAT PROGRESS MADE!!!" he posted on Truth Social.China's Ministry of Commerce said earlier this month that officials were "evaluating" an offer from the Trump administration to hold trade talks on the 145% U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods.PIVOTAL TRADE TALKS WITH BEIJING LOOM AS TRUMP SWEARS IN NEW US AMBASSADOR TO CHINA: WHAT TIMING"The U.S. has recently taken the initiative on many occasions to convey information to China through relevant parties, saying it hopes to talk with China," the statement said, according to Reuters.Trump and the administration have previously said they were willing to hold trade negotiations with China, including the president saying on April 8, "We are waiting for their call. It will happen."TRUMP SAYS 80% TARIFF ON CHINA SEEMS RIGHT AHEAD OF WEEKEND TALKS WITH BEIJINGThe update on China comes after the Trump administration inked a separate trade deal with the UK last week the first trade deal signed since Trump's "Liberation Day" announcement on April 2 that leveled tariffs on nations worldwide as the administration looked to end trade barriers on U.S. goods and even the playing field for U.S. exports."With this deal, the U.K. joins the United States in affirming that reciprocity and fairness is an essential and vital principle of international trade," Trump said Thursday of the deal. "The deal includes billions of dollars of increased market access for American exports, especially in agriculture, dramatically increasing access for American beef, ethanol and virtually all of the products produced by our great farmers."The UK deal keeps an existing 10% tariff in place against U.K. goods, while removing some import taxes on items like steel and cars.

'Daily Show' star who recently became US citizen says becoming American is like joining 'evil empire'
Ronny Chieng, host of "The Daily Show," compared becoming a U.S. citizen to joining an "evil empire" during an appearance on Variety's "Awards Circuit" podcast on Friday.Chieng, who was born in Malaysia and moved to the U.S. as a child before returning to Malaysia at age seven, described his eventual return to America in 2015 as "30 years in the making."He said he came back to the U.S. to pursue his career in stand-up comedy and that it was a "weird time" to become an American.CRAZY RICH ASIANS ACTOR SAYS HED LIKE TO HAVE CONSERVATIVES IN AMERICA WHO ARENT F------ MORONS"I turn down offers to tour overseas all the time," Chieng said. "Ive got no interest in it, because I came from there. Ive been trying to come here so it makes sense for me to get citizenship, because if I do leave the country, I know I can come back in to the stuff that Ive been building here."Chieng told Variety that the type of things that attracted him to America were "Back to the Future" and "Seinfeld" and not "the Iraq War.""Its like youre joining this evil empire, but thats not why you joined it. It just so happened, the evil empire had some really nice TV shows, and they do stand-up comedy in The Death Star," he said.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREBeginning his tenure on the "Daily Show" in 2015, Chieng noted that "this Trump thing" is all he's known, saying that since he came to America, President Donald Trump's "shadow has been looming or in charge.""Hes [Trump's] been talking s--- for a long time now. Were used to him talking s---," he explained. "Hes been throwing chaos in the mix for a long time now. So in that sense, it doesnt feel like anything new in terms of coverage."Chieng also compared covering Trump's second term on the "Daily Show" to "being in an emergency room," describing the non-stop coverage of the president as "outlandish.""You kind of get numb to it, because its always a car wreck every day. Its something new coming in, and its something you have to comment on," Chieng said. "It seems outlandish, but at the same time, its been outlandish for nine years. So is it outlandish? Thats the feeling."

Free speech advocates praise Trump admin for speaking out on global censorship
A Canadian free speech advocate who was fined by Australian authorities spoke out after the U.S. State Department appeared to come to his defense."It's phenomenal. The Trump administration has been tremendous on this issue," Chris Elston, popularly known as "Billboard Chris" for his custom of wearing sandwich boards with slogans on them, said.In the Australian case, Elston had been fined $806 for "obstructing public movement" in response to displaying his billboard reading "children cannot consent to puberty blockers."Elston said he was peacefully conversing with members of the public and was issued a police "move on" order before being sent away.MUSK, CANADIAN MAN SUE AUSTRALIAN AUTHORITIES FOR CENSORING X POSTThat incident was separate from a legal challenge Elston launched in April against the countrys eSafety commission after the government had his tweet of a Daily Mail article about a transgender activist seated on an Australian board."Its such a zealous overuse of authority," Elston said. "We don't elect [officials] to decide what we can say."After he was censored, the case was included in a tweet from a State Department bureau decrying government censorship and their coercion of tech companies into targeting individuals.BILLBOARD CHRIS REFLECTS ON VIOLENCE HE'S MET WITH PROTESTING GENDER SURGERIES FOR CHILDREN"Freedom of expression must be protected online and offline," it tweeted."Examples of this conduct are troublingly numerous. EU Commissioner Thierry Breton threatened X for hosting political speech; Trkiye fined Meta for refusing to restrict content about protests; and Australia required X to remove a post criticizing an individual for promoting gender ideology.""The United States opposes efforts to undermine freedom of expression."CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPLois McLatchie Miller of Alliance Defending Freedom International, which has been defending Elston, said the group believes "everybody has the right to live and speak their truth, and Chris is a great example of that.""[W]e stood up with Chris alongside the Human Rights Law Alliance in Australia to defend free speech there, but we also see in my own country in the U.K., where people are having censorship thrust upon them, even being arrested for expressing their views."
