Former ICE chief reveals what to expect from major Chicago immigration operation
As "Operation Midway Blitz" launches in the Chicago area this week, former acting ICE Chief Jonathan Fahey explains that Americans can expect "known targets" to be the focus on the sweep.ICE has been ramping up its mass deportation efforts since President Donald Trump took office in January, including in large cities such as Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. In recent weeks, Trump has expressed interest in cracking down on crime in the Windy City, after a multi-agency surge in the nations capital has led to a decrease in crime and hundreds of immigration-related arrests."I think it's going to be very targeted towards a lot of people with criminal records either that have been let out of jail and maybe have been convicted or let out of jail pending trial," Fahey said.TRUMP'S LOOMING CHICAGO TAKEOVER PUTS VIOLENT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT CRIMES IN SPOTLIGHT: 'INCOMPETENT MAYOR'The Homeland Security expert added that because both Los Angeles and Chicago are considered sanctuary cities, there could be similarities. Fahey said its likely that "the focus is going be criminals, gang members and things of that nature."CLICK HERE FOR MORE IMMIGRATION COVERAGE"It doesn't mean when they arrest somebody, if they're with a bunch of other people that are here illegally, those people are gonna get locked up as well," he continued.Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker have been adamantly opposed to a federal surge in the city.TOM HOMAN PUTS SANCTUARY CITIES 'ON NOTICE' AS TRUMP ADMINISTRATION CRACKS DOWN ON IMMIGRATION"The City of Chicago received no notice of any enhanced immigration action by the Trump administration," Johnson posted to X. "We remain opposed to any potential militarized immigration enforcement without due process because of ICEs track record of detaining and deporting American citizens and violating the human rights of hundreds of detainees."In a statement from DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin on Tuesday, she said the "operation will target the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens in Chicago."Fahey said that Mondays Supreme Court temporary ruling shooting down a California district court judge on ICEs patrolling strategy in Los Angeles, could send a legal message to Illinois Democrats."I think it could help them legally. I don't think it will change what they're doing, but it could maybe prevent some sort of injunction or other type of thing," he said, as the Supreme Courts stay on a temporary restraining order only applies to Southern California. LOS ANGELES JUDGE WEIGHS SEVERE LIMITS ON TRUMP'S IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT IN CALIFORNIAMcLaughlin called the stay a "win for the safety of Californians and the rule of law," whereas the American Civil Liberties Union considered it deeply concerning."This decision is a devastating setback for our plaintiffs and communities who, for months, have been subjected to immigration stops because of the color of their skin, occupation, or the language they speak," Mohammad Tajsar, senior staff attorney at the ACLU Foundation of Southern California, said in a statement Monday.

Antisemitism watchdog slams UK government response to 70k rally against Jew-hatred
The left-leaning government of Prime Minister Keir Starmer is facing growing criticism for failing to take seriously a march attended by an estimated70,000 people Sunday to protest growing antisemitism and violence against Jews. The main surge in British antisemitism has its origins in pro-Palestinian activism that bleeds at times into support for the U.S.-designated terrorist movement Hamas, according to experts. Hamas invaded Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, and slaughtered roughly 1,200 people, including American and British citizens.According to a survey commissioned by the U.K.-based Campaign Against Antisemitism on British adults attitudes towards Jews, "an astounding 21% of the British public affirmed four or more antisemitic statements, compared to 16% last year. In 2021, the figure was 11%."UK PUNK-RAP DUO SPARKS OUTRAGE WITH ANTI-ISRAEL CHANTS AT MAJOR MUSIC FESTIVALA spokesperson for the Campaign Against Antisemitism told Fox News Digital that, "The absence of a senior government representative from Britains March Against Antisemitism was disappointing. We reached out weeks ago to all major parties to ensure that the Jewish community would hear from high-ranking figures with relevant portfolios at a time when antisemitism in Britain is at its highest levels in living memory. The opposition and Reform UK understood the importance of this moment and responded accordingly by sending senior officials, the Government did not."The spokesperson for the campaign against antisemitism added, "Instead, Labour dragged its feet and at the last moment offered a backbench peer, which could hardly be said to represent the government, let alone carry the authority of a senior minister. That fell far short of what was required and expected. The decision not to send a proper representative was scandalous, and it will do nothing to reassure British Jews that this government has their back or even recognizes the scale of the crisis."Britains Chief Rabbi, Sir Efraim Mirvis, told the protestors: "These are awful times. We have seen an explosion of hatred right across the UK. Antisemitism is rife right across the UK. You will see it. You will hear it. You will feel it. Britain, wake up now."According to the campaigns representative, "Sundays March Against Antisemitism was a powerful show of unity, with an estimated 70,000 people taking to the streets of London to stand shoulder to shoulder against the record levels of antisemitism blighting our country."An Israeli minister told Fox News Digital last year that London is the "worlds most antisemitic city."UK GOVERNMENT ACCUSED OF CRACKING DOWN ON FREE SPEECH: 'THINK BEFORE YOU POST'When asked about whether British Jews should immigrate to Israel, the spokesperson for the campaign organization said "Since Oct. 7, 2023, half of British Jews have considered leaving the U.K. due to antisemitism, rising to two-thirds among young Jews. Only a third of the community believes Jews have a long-term future here. Jews should not be made to feel they must leave Britain to be safe. It is the responsibility of the authorities to ensure that our community can live proudly and securely in this country."Adding to the problems facing British Jews was the appointment last week by Keir Starmer of Shabana Mahmood as his new Home Secretary the equivalent of Americas secretary of Homeland Security who has been accused of stoking hatred of the Jewish state by her anti-Israel activism.Nile Gardiner, director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom at The Heritage Foundation in Washington D.C., slammed her appointment, writing on X, "A far Left, Israel hating extremist is now the UK Home Secretary," and linked to a video ofMahmood, participating in an anti-Israel protest.Fox News Digital reached out numerous times to British Prime Minister Keir Starmers office for a comment. A spokeswoman said she would respond but had not answered by time of publication. Starmer has faced criticism from Israels government for his decision to recognize a Palestinan state. Israel views the move as a reward for Hamas massacre on Oct. 7.The stakes are high for British Jews because the mass rallies against Israel in the countryhave frequently generated antisemitism. The U.K. has also declined to outlawIrans Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in contrast to the United States, Canada and Australia. According to a July British parliamentary report, Irans regime is seeking to kill and abduct. The clerical regime uses the IRGC for its terrorist and kidnapping operations abroad. The spokesperson for the Campaign Against Antisemitism warned,"British Jews are facing the worst antisemitism we have ever recorded. Our young people are being radicalized before our eyes and hatred is spreading unchecked. At such a perilous time, the Jewish community needed to hear clearly from the government that it stands with us. Instead, the Prime Ministers absence has left British Jews questioning whether this government is serious about confronting the hatred consuming our country."

Kamala Harris complains about 'impossible' lack of support from Biden's comms team, inner circle
Former Vice President Kamala Harris complained about a lack of support from former President Joe Biden's White House team during her 2024 presidential campaign in an excerpt from her new book published Wednesday."They had a huge comms team; they had Karine Jean-Pierre briefing in the pressroom every day. But getting anything positive said about my work or any defense against untrue attacks was almost impossible," Harris wrote in her new book, according to The Atlantic. The book about her failed 2024 presidential bid, titled "107 Days," will be released Sept. 30.KAMALA HARRIS RULES OUT 2026 RUN IN HER HOME STATE OF CALIFORNIAHarris cited a specific example, a 2021 meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, during which he hoped to resolve "friction" between the two countries caused by the Australia-U.K.-U.S. security pact. She referenced headlines stating she used a "French accent" during the trip and called the notion "total nonsense," but added, "the White House seemed glad to let reporting about my gaffe overwhelm the significant thaw in foreign relations Id achieved."She also accused Biden's staff of fueling other negative reporting, specifically reports about her staff."Worse, I often learned that the presidents staff was adding fuel to negative narratives that sprang up around me. One narrative that took a stubborn hold was that I had a chaotic' office and unusually high staff turnover during my first year," she wrote. She said her staff had the additional challenge of "confronting gendered stereotypes" and said she was the first vice president to have a dedicated press pool "tracking my every public move."HARRIS ADMITS BIDEN 'GOT TIRED,' DENIES 'CONSPIRACY' TO HIDE MENTAL DECLINEHARRIS TAPS DEM EMAILS LISTS TO MARKET NEW BOOK, SPARKING PARTY NEUTRALITY CONCERNSHarris also suggested Biden's inner circle wanted to knock her down further by having her tackle "irregular immigration.""When Republicans mischaracterized my role as border czar, no one in the White House comms team helped me to effectively push back and explain what I had really been tasked to do, nor to highlight any of the progress I had achieved," Harris wrote.Harris defended her record on immigration in the book excerpt and said her story went untold by the White House."Their thinking was zero-sum: If shes shining, hes dimmed. None of them grasped that if I did well, he did well. That given the concerns about his age, my visible success as his vice president was vital. It would serve as a testament to his judgment in choosing me and reassurance that if something happened, the country was in good hands. My success was important for him," the former vice president wrote. "His team didnt get it."CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREBiden's office did not immediately return a request for comment.

Ex-ESPN host calls on NYC mayor to take 'clearly unwell and violent men' off streets after Charlotte stabbing
Former ESPN personality Samantha Ponder called on New York City Mayor Eric Adams to take measures to ensure a brutal killing, like the one that took place in Charlotte, doesnt happen.Ponder posted a message on social media in reaction to the killing of Iryna Zarutska. President Donald Trump has since called for Decarlos Brown Jr., the man accused of murder in the stabbing of the woman on a Charlotte light rail car, to face the death penalty.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMThe former host wrote that Adams should make it a point to get "clearly unwell and violent men" off the streets."I take the subway multiple times a day, every day, with my 3 kids. Every single day we encounter several clearly unwell and violent men," she wrote on X. "Ive taught my kids not to make eye contact, to switch train cars even when its not our stop & to never get on a nearly empty train. All split second decisions as we try to gauge whether an obviously sick person is going to hurt someone or just continue screaming, knocking things over, etc."The horrific video of Irynas murder has confirmed my belief that we HAVE to get these men off the streets. Our DAs and judges have failed us. They show the illusion of empathy for the mentally ill but it is neither loving nor safe to continue to let career criminals roam the streets."She tagged Adams X account in the post.Ponder reacted with some of the comments she received over her post. She made clear that what happened in Charlotte and what she deals with in New York arent isolated incidents.IRYNA ZARUTSKA'S FAMILY DEMANDS JUSTICE IN FIRST STATEMENT SINCE 'HORRIFIC' STABBING"I dont know how you live like that. Why subject your kids to degeneracy and violence? So many places to live," one person wrote.Ponder responded, "Like Charlotte? Or how about Auburn, Alabama? Maybe Athens? This is happening all over the country. It wasn't always like this here and it doesn't have to be."When another person told her to move to Arizona, Ponder revealed a harrowing tale from when she was a child."I was followed to school at age 5 by an exposed child molester in Arizona. Had a kidnapper try to pull me inside his van at a bus stop in Arizona. Should I go on? There's a lot more," she wrote.Brown, who is Black, was arrested soon after the stabbing and charged with first-degree murder. On Tuesday, the Department of Justice charged Brown with one count of committing an act causing death on a mass transportation system.Records obtained by Fox News Digital showed that Brown has a history of arrests going back more than a decade, including convictions for felony larceny and felony breaking and entering in 2013, and a 2015 conviction for robbery with a dangerous weapon that sent him to prison for more than six years. He was released in 2020 but remained on parole until 2021, and subsequent charges against him included communicating threats and misuse of the 911 system earlier this year.Trump has since called on cities to end cashless bail.Fox News' Anders Hagstrom contributed to this report.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
