New Jersey GOP candidate Jack Ciattarelli confident state will flip red in 2025
New Jersey Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli was the picture of confidence on Friday, predicting victory in November and a Republican majority in the state legislature for the first time in decades.Speaking with "Fox & Friends" host Steve Doocy at a diner in Hackensack, N.J., Ciattarelli called the race against Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill a "dead heat.""We've got 61 days to go. We'll finish strong, and we're going to deliver a win for New Jersey," he said.He pledged to lower taxes and shrink government in a state known for its high costs.NEW JERSEY GOVERNOR'S RACE: DEMOCRAT SHERRILL LEADS REPUBLICAN CIATTARELLI BY SIX POINTS IN 2026 BELLWETHER"I'm going to reduce the size and cost of our state government to afford a tax cut for our individuals and businesses, and with a new school funding formula, we can lower property taxes," he said. "We'll get it done."Ciattarelli also promised a GOP majority in the legislature, noting the party flipped eight seats when he ran for governor in 2021. That year, he lost by only three points to Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy in a state that has long been blue but swung to the right in recent years.Former Vice President Kamala Harris won New Jersey by less than six points in the 2024 presidential election, a drastic shift from when former President Joe Biden won the state by nearly 16 points in 2020.GOP ACTIVIST REVEALS WHY NEW JERSEY IS NOT 'JUST A DEMOCRAT STATE' IN PUSH TO FLIP GOVERNORSHIP"Make no mistake, we're going to win a Republican majority this year," Ciattarelli said. "We can flip 13 this year. When we do that, we get something we haven't had in 25 years, a Republican majority in our state legislature."New Jersey is not a "deep-blue" state when it comes to governor's races, the candidate added, pointing out Republicans have won six of the past 11 gubernatorial elections. Republican Chris Christie won in 2009 and 2013 before Murphy won the past two elections."My opponent is Murphy 2.0," Ciattarelli said of Sherrill, adding, "she's not from New Jersey. So I got an idea. How about we elect a Jersey guy?"TRUMP NOT ON BALLOT, BUT PRESIDENT FRONT AND CENTER IN NEW JERSEY'S PRIMARY FOR GOVERNORPolling shows Ciattarelli has an uphill climb over the next two months, with a new survey showing him down seven points.Fox News Digital reached out to Sherrill's campaign for comment.

NFL to review Jalen Carter spitting incident from Eagles' win over Cowboys: report
The NFL will review the spitting interaction betweenDallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter that resulted in Carters early ejection from Thursday nights game, according to a report.Carter, 24, was tossed from the game just six seconds into the season opener after he appeared to spiton Prescott. In addition to Carters ejection for unsportsmanlike conduct, the Eagles were also hit with a 15-yard penalty. But Carter could face further discipline from the league.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMNFL Networks Tom Pelissero reported Friday morning that the NFL is reviewing the interaction for "possible additional discipline." He noted that Carters early ejection already served as a one-game suspension because he was tossed prior to the first snap of the game.Initial reaction to the spit was complicated when videos later shared to social media appeared to show Prescott spitting first. Speaking to reporters after the game, he confirmed that he did spit first but out of habit.Prescott explained thatthe Eagles star appeared to be "trolling" Cowboys guard Tyler Booker and that in the moment he felt the need to spitnot an unusual gameday practice for the veteran quarterback.EAGLES' JALEN CARTER ADDRESSES SPITTING INCIDENT, MAKES VOW TO TEAMMATES"I was just looking at him. I was right here by the two linemen and I guess I needed to spit and I wasnt going to spit on my linemen and I just spit ahead."Prescott said Carter called him out for trying to spit on him, an accusation he took offense at."At that point, I felt like he was insulting me. I wouldnt spit on somebody, and Im damn sure not trying to spit on you."Prescott said Carters retaliation was "more of a surprise than anything." He called him a "hell of a player," adding that the ejection was "unfortunate."Carter, for his part, apologized after the game."It was a mistake that happened on my side. Florida opens 'Deportation Depot' migrant detention facility inside former prison
Florida opened a second migrant detention facility called "Deportation Depot," which is now accepting detainees, the office of Gov. Ron DeSantis told Fox News on Friday. The detention facility is inside the former Baker Correctional Institution located in Sanderson, in the northern part of the state. The first detainees arrived on Tuesday, Sept. 2. As of Friday, 117 people are being held there. The facility has the capacity to house up to 1,500 detainees."The Baker County facility will now be a great supplement to Alligator Alcatraz. We'll use as many of the detention spaces as we can," Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier told Fox News. "We want to fill them up. We want deliver on this mission. The Baker County site was actually a pre-existing state jail that was no longer in use. So it's already retrofitted out to hold a lot of people. We'll fill it up quickly and we'll put it to good use."OPERATIONS AT ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ BACK ON AFTER APPEALS COURT HALTS JUDGE'S ORDERThe unveiling comes a day after a federal appeals court halted a lower court judges order to end operations indefinitely at the "Alligator Alcatraz" immigration detention center built in the Florida Everglades. The panel voted 2-1 to stay the judges order pending the outcome of an appeal, allowing the facility to continue holding migrant detainees for now.Last month, U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams issued a preliminary injunction blocking Florida from further expanding that detention center and ordering operations to dwindle by the end of October. The judge also ordered the state to transfer detainees to other facilities and to remove equipment and fencing.DHS HAS BEGUN FLYING MIGRANTS OUT OF FLORIDA'S ALLIGATOR ALCATRAZ, DESANTIS ANNOUNCESThe rulings came after a lawsuit brought by Friends of the Everglades, the Center for Biological Diversity and the Miccosukee Tribe accused the state and federal officials of not following federal law requiring an environmental review for the detention center, which the groups argue threatens sensitive wetlands that have protected plants and animals.President Donald Trump toured the facility in July and suggested it could be used as a model for future facilities across the country to support his mass deportation plan.Reacting to Thursday's ruling, DeSantis said that claims that the facility would soon shutter were false."We said we would fight that. We said the mission would continue. So Alligator Alcatraz is in fact, like we've always said, open for business," he said on social media.Uthmeier told Fox News he is not expecting any legal resistance to the "Deportation Depot" site.

DOJ task force finds 'numerous instances' of anti-Christian government bias under Biden
EXCLUSIVE: The Biden administration "weaponized the full weight of the federal government against Christians," according to Trump leadership, laying out in a new report the "numerous instances" of past anti-Christian bias and recommendations to protect faith in America.Fox News Digital exclusively obtained the report published by the Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias, created by President Donald Trump and chaired by Attorney General Pam Bondi.TRUMP ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE ORDER CREATING TASK FORCE TO 'ERADICATE ANTI-CHRISTIAN BIAS'The task force had a clear mandate to ensure that "any unlawful and improper conduct, policies, or practices that target Christians are identified, terminated, and rectified."The task force was directed to deliver an initial assessment, which Fox News Digital exclusively obtained Friday. The report provides an overview of "the damage that can be done when religious liberty is not protected and preserved for all Americans.""The Task Force makes this commitment: the federal government will never again be permitted to turn its power against people of faith," the report states. "Under President Trump and Attorney General Bondis leadership, in partnership with all members of this Task Force, the rule of law will be enforced with vigor, and every religion will be treated with equality in both policy and action."FLASHBACK: HOUSE WEAPONIZATION PANEL RELEASES 17,000-PAGE REPORT EXPOSING 'TWO-TIERED SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT'The report added: "The days of anti-Christian bias in the federal government are over. Faith is not a liability in Americait is a liberty."After a preliminary review of federal agencies and departments, the task force uncovered "numerous instances of anti-Christian bias during the Biden administration."FLASHBACK: FBI INTERVIEWED PRIEST, CHURCH CHOIR DIRECTOR AHEAD OF ANTI-CATHOLIC MEMO, HOUSE GOP FINDS"Joe Biden weaponized the full weight of the federal government against Christians and trampled on their fundamental First Amendment rights," White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers told Fox News Digital. "Unlike Joe Biden, President Trump is protecting Christians, not punishing them."The Task Force found that the Department of Defense, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Department of Labor all "deprioritized, mishandled, or denied requests for religious exemptions to the Biden administrations COVID-19 mandate."The Task Force also found that at the Department of Education the Biden administration "attempted to impose record-breaking fines on some of the nations largest Christian universities, including Liberty University ($14 million) and Grand Canyon University ($37.7 million)."TRUMP GATHERS CEOS FOR UNPRECEDENTED FAITH, ECONOMY MEETING TO RENEW US 'SPIRITUALLY AND FINANCIALLY'At the Department of Homeland Security, the task force found that Customs and Border Protection omitted Christian perspectives from a directive for detainees but deliberately noted accommodations for Islam, Rastafarianism and sects of Judaism. At the Justice Department, the task force found that the Biden administration lacked an effort to "address and prosecute violations of the law where anti-Christian bias was demonstrated by the persecutors.""Instead, during that time, the DOJ pursued novel theories of prosecution against those speaking or demonstrating based upon their Christian faith," the report states. The task force also found that the Department of Justice, under the Biden administration, arrested and convicted approximately two dozen individuals under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act for praying and demonstrating outside abortion facilities."Yet, the same DOJ refused to apply the FACE Act to protect places of worship and crisis pregnancy centers," the report states. At the FBI, the task force pointed to the bureaus memo asserting that "radical-traditionalist" Catholics were "domestic terrorism threats."At the Treasury Department, the task force pointed to the many "pro-Christian groups" that have been "debanked."TRUMP SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER ESTABLISHING WHITE HOUSE FAITH OFFICEThe task force found that, under the Biden administration, the Department of State provided "limited humanitarian relief to Christians relative to other populations and offered muted responses to attacks on Christians compared to other groups."Also at the State Department, the task force said it discovered evidence that "preferential employment practices were afforded" for those of non-Christian religions, while Christian employees "were disfavored.""It was particularly concerning that employees were less likely to be permitted leave for observation of certain Christian holidays as opposed to non-Christian ones."Officials also said the State Department imposed "radical LGBTQ gender ideology on foreign governments and State employees, including the forced usage of preferred pronouns and rainbow flags, violating the sincerely held religious beliefs of many Christians and other Americans of faith."The task force also found that the Department of Labor dismantled its office of faith-based initiatives and replaced it with a diversity, equity and inclusion office.INSIDE THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION'S WHITE HOUSE FAITH OFFICEThe task force also said that the Department of Housing and Urban Development "discriminated against Christian perspectives in its marketing, treating social media posts celebrating Christian holidays, such as Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter, differently than posts celebrating other religious or interest group holidays, including Pride Month, Ramadan, and Diwali."Officials said Housing and Urban Development took down the Christian posts and left up the others. The task force held its first meeting in April. Prior to the meeting, members of the task force conducted initial reviews of their respective agencies to identify any unlawful anti-Christian policies, practices or agency conduct during the Biden administration.Officials said that the task force is not finished with its inquiry, but merely just beginning, and will continue its work to investigate the full scope of anti-Christian bias that "pervaded the federal government during the Biden administration."A final report is expected by February 2026.Trump also signed an executive order establishing a White House Faith Office in February. The office empowers faith-based entities, community organizations and houses of worship "to better serve families and communities," according to the White House. The office is housed under the Domestic Policy Council and consults with experts in the faith community on policy changes to "better align with American values."A former Biden White House official did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Federal judge rips DOJ prosecutors, dismisses Trump threat case: 'Theres no credibility left'
Amid President Donald Trump's crime crackdown in the nation's capital, magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia criticized U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro's office, according to the Associated Press."Its not fair to say theyre losing credibility. Were past that now," Faruqui claimed, according to the outlet, which indicated that he later asserted, "Theres no credibility left."Pirro, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, slammed the Faruqui on social media.GRAND JURIES IN WASHINGTON, DC DECLINE TO INDICT TWO ACCUSED OF THREATENING TO KILL TRUMP"He has repeatedly indicated his allegiance to those who violate the law and carry illegal guns, justifying the possession of these guns and constantly pushing for the release of these dangerous criminals back into our communities," Pirro declared in part of a post on X."This judge took an oath to follow the law, yet he has allowed his politics to consistently cloud his judgment and his requirement to follow the law. America voted for safe communities, law and order, and this judge is the antithesis of that," she asserted in another portion of the post. The AP reported that Faruqui excoriated Pirro's office amid a hearing at which he agreed to dismiss a federal case against Edward Alexander Dana, an individual accused of threatening to kill the president. An affidavit to support a criminal complaint alleged that Dana was arrested after "damaging a light fixture by pulling it off the exterior wall of the restaurant."PIRRO TEARS INTO PRITZKER AFTER DEADLY WEEKEND IN CHICAGO: HE SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF"Im not going to tolerate fascism. And that means killing you, officer, killing the President, killing anyone who stands in the way of our Constitution You want to stand in the way of our Constitution, I will f[---]ing kill you," Dana said, according to the document.Because a grand jury did not indict, multiple misdemeanor charges have instead been lodged against Dana in D.C. Putin warns Western troops in Ukraine would be 'legitimate targets'
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned Friday that Western military personnel deployed to Ukraine would become "legitimate targets for defeat," raising fresh threats against the idea of international peacekeepers once a cease-fire is reached."This is one of the root causes (of the war): trying to involve Ukraine in NATO," Putin said, speaking at an economic forum in Russias Far East. "So if any troops appear there, especially during the ongoing hostilities, we assume they will be legitimate targets for defeat."His remarks came a day after European and allied nations signaled support for a coordinated postwar mission. At a gathering in Paris, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that 26 countries had committed to security guarantees for Kyiv, pledges that could involve military contributions "in the sky, in the sea and on the ground." French President Emmanuel Macron described the commitments as potential deployments "by land, sea or air" once hostilities have ceased.TALKS STALL AND PUTIN GRINS. WEAK GUARANTEES WILL ONLY INVITE MORE RUSSIAN STRIKESPutin countered that if Moscow and Kyiv are able to finalize a political settlement, foreign soldiers would only complicate matters. "If decisions are reached that lead to long-term peace, then I simply see no reason for their presence on Ukrainian territory," he said. "Because if such agreements are reached, let no one doubt that Russia will fully implement them."Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov echoed the Russian leaders long-standing grievances with NATO, casting Western guarantees for Ukraine as equivalent to pushing the alliance eastward."What was one of the root causes of this conflict? It was when the foundations of security guarantees for our country began to be eroded, when Ukraine was being drawn into NATO, and when NATOs military infrastructure began moving toward our borders," Peskov said, according to Russian state media. He added that any settlement would require guarantees "to both us and the Ukrainians."RUSSIA AGAIN BLASTS NOTION OF WESTERN TROOPS IN UKRAINE AHEAD OF TRUMP CALL WITH ZELENSKYY, EUROPEAN LEADERSThe Kremlins statements followed a week of high-profile diplomacy for Putin, who traveled to Beijing to appear alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. From China, Putin revealed that U.S. President Donald Trump had asked him to engage directly with Zelenskyy about ending the war."Donald asked me if it was possible to hold such a meeting. I said yes, it is possible. In the end, if Zelensky is ready, let him come to Moscow. Such a meeting will take place," Putin said. He later promised to ensure security for the Ukrainian leader in the Russian capital.Zelenskyy publicly dismissed the offer, arguing that Moscow was once again trying to delay serious negotiations. "Our American partners told me that Putin had invited me to Moscow. In my opinion, if someone wants the meeting to not take place, they should invite me to Moscow," Zelenskyy said Thursday.Ukraines foreign minister, Andrii Sybiha, insisted Kyiv is ready for direct talks but only on neutral ground. "Right now, at least seven countries are ready to host a meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and Russia to bring an end to the war Austria, the Holy See, Switzerland, Trkiye, and three Gulf states," he wrote on social media.
