New DNC vice chair tells Maher Dems lost because they used $2 billion to tell voters Bidens not too old
New Democratic National Committee Vice Chair David Hogg told "Real Time" host Bill Maher on Friday that the Democratic Party lost in 2024 because they paid two billion dollars to get voters not to believe their own eyes and ears.Hogg, the 25-year-old progressive, who was elected to the position earlier this year, argued that his party lost voters among most demographics last November because they wanted voters to believe former President Biden was fine and that the economy was good, despite Americans seeing the opposite."People said to us that Joe Biden is too old, and they said that prices are too high. And we said with the power of two billion behind us, No, hes not, then Yes, he is, and then, No, theyre not. Look at this graph of the stock market," he said on the HBO talk show.BILL MAHER OFFERS OPEN LETTER TO POP STAR CHAPPELL ROAN ON ISRAEL: YOU DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT HISTORYPrior to Hoggs theory, Maher argued that wokeness was what prompted the loss. "It was more the woke stuff, wasnt it? Isnt that the strategy that Trump employed? Like, Shes for they/them and hes for you. That was the big ad that worked."Hogg acknowledged the point but zoomed out, saying it was more about President Donald Trump showing voters that he heard their concerns, while Democratic leaders seemed to deny what their voters were really feeling."I think the reason why that worked though, Bill, is because people felt like they werent heard by us," he said.DAVID HOGG AND EX-TRUMP OFFICIAL SPAR IN FIERY CLASH OVER KILMAR ABREGO GARCIA DEPORTATIONAfter mentioning the party covering for Biden, or being in denial about prices, he declared, "If you tell people not to believe their eyes and their wallets, youre going to lose them."The progressive has taken heat from fellow Democratic figures since being elected to the vice chair position. He made headlines last month for clashing with veteran Democratic strategist James Carville during an episode of journalist Tara Palmeris podcast. The two sparred over Hoggs strategy of primarying older Democratic lawmakers in blue districts to make room for new Democratic leaders.Carville criticized it as "abominable" and "jacka--ery of the highest level" for prioritizing pushing out Democrats over beating Republicans. Hogg shot back that the party is capable of both. Carville demanded Hogg focus on winning elections against the GOP.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREHogg insisted that the point of his strategy is to "win elections.""Its not to win an election in Queens which you dont ever run against a Republican. Its to help Democrats win elections."The two ended up burying the hatchet, with Carville posting to X that the DNC "needs him," as he "fights" for the party.Hoggs strategy even ran afoul of new DNC Chair Ken Martin, who said in an April conference call, "I've said to him, if you want to challenge incumbents, you're more than free to do that, but just not as an officer of the DNC, because our job is to be neutral arbiters. We can't be both the referee and also the player at the same time."Fox News Digitals Lindsay Kornick contributed to this report.

California track meet turns to political rally over trans athletes as schools speak out vs. state
A girls' track meet in California was turned into a political rally on Saturday amid a growing controversy over a trans athlete who has dominated in the girls' high-jump, long-jump and triple-jump this season. The rally came less than two days after three of the state's esteemed Christian high schools sent a letter to the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) challenging its longstanding policy that allows biological males in girls' sports.JSerra Catholic High School, Orange Lutheran High School and Crean Lutheran High School sent a joint letter to the CIF Thursday, referencing the trans athlete who competed in Saturday's state semifinal prelims.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"For young women, CIFs Gender Identity Policy means lost opportunities and an unlevel playing field. The consequences of this Policy will be felt this weekend as CIFs state semi-final competitions for track and field events take place. Star female athletes, some of whom attend our schools, will soon compete in multiple track and field events against a male athlete who self-identifies as a female," the letter read."CIFs Gender Identity Policy also fosters an environment that is increasingly hostile to religious member schools. CIFs expectation that all faith-based schools facilitate the CIF Gender Identity Policy puts religious schools in the untenable position of adhering to the tenets of their faith in their classrooms and communities but practicing something contrary to their faith on their athletic fields."The letter went on to suggest that some of the female athletes competing for the three Christian schools considered not competing against the trans athlete in Saturday's semifinal prelims. And then prior to Saturday's meet at Yorba Linda High School, multiple girls' athletes, parents and school officials spoke at a press conference organized by California Family Council outreach director Sophia Lorey."No matter how hard we train, how many hours we put in, reality will always set in that men and women are different," said Olivia Viola of Crean Lutheran. "To me, this just doesn't seem fair. CIF is doing nothing to protect us female athletes."The CIF is currently under investigation by the U.S. Department of Education for allowing trans athletes to compete in girls' sports, and potential Title IX violations.CALIFORNIA GIRL OPENS UP ON FIGHTING LEGAL AND POLITICAL BATTLE OVER TRANS ATHLETES AFTER LIFE-CHANGING PAINCalifornia was one of the first states to openly defy President Donald Trump's "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports" executive order after he signed it on Feb. 5."The CIF provides students with the opportunity to belong, connect, and compete in education-based experiences in compliance with California law [Education Code section 221.5. (f)] which permits students to participate in school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, consistent with the students gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the students records," the CIF previously said in a statement to Fox News Digital.California Governor Gavin Newsom said during an episode of his podcast that he believes trans athletes competing with girls is "deeply unfair." But the governor still justified policies that enable it for the sake of empathy for the trans community. The state has seen multiple controversies erupt over the past year regarding the issue, and many other residents and even some schools are taking stands against the state officials enforcing the inclusion policies. The Redlands Unified school board in San Bernardino voted in late April to adopt a new policy that would keep transgender athletes out of girls sports.A bipartisan surveyby the Public Policy Institute of California found that the majority of California residents oppose biological male trans athletes competing in women's sports. That figure included more than 70% ofthe state's school parents."Most Californians support requiring transgender athletes to compete on teams matching the sex they were assigned at birth," the poll stated."Solid majorities of adults (65%) and likely voters (64%) support requiring that transgender athletes compete on teams that match the sex they were assigned at birth, not the gender they identify with. An overwhelming majority of public school parents (71%) support such a requirement."Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.

"Please let me hold my baby. Just once. I need to tell him goodbye."Nurse Danella Walters was a woman of deep faith. She had seen many mothers in distress during her years of service, but she also knew the hospitals policy: Birth mothers were not permitted to bond with their babies in adoption cases.MOTHER'S DAY QUIZ! "We will, Mama."FOR MOTHER'S DAY, A VIRGINIA MOM'S STUNNING DISCOVERY REMINDS HER OF GOD'S LOVING PRESENCEBut when her mother left to buy something special for the baby to wear home, the agony returned, as did the tears.Signing the birth certificate giving her son a name she knew might be changed was almost too much to bear.Nurse Walters stood by silently, paperwork in hand, witnessing the young mother's sorrow. Then came a ray of sunshine. During a shift change, the nurse furtively reentered the room cradling something in a blanket. Who covered his face with kisses. She loved him so deeply, she allowed others to give him a better life. The young man listened in silence. Some time later, Amanda and Chad got married. When they were expecting their own first child, Chad decided to seek his birth records. He opened the official-looking envelope at Danella Walters kitchen table. Inside the White House's effort to pull India, Pakistan back from the brink of war
As officials in the White House became increasingly concerned about the escalation in the conflict between Pakistan and India, it was decided Friday morning that Vice President JD Vance would call Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Twenty-four hours before President Donald Trump announced on social media Saturday morning that a ceasefire had been reached, the scramble in the White House began.Senior officials began to fear that the situation could spiral out of control with neither side seriously considering options for de-escalation after Pakistan hit back at Indian military sites on Friday following an Indian missile attack on Pakistan. The strikes mark the latest escalation between the nuclear-armed rivals, a move triggered by a mass shooting for which India blames Pakistan.PAKISTAN SAYS IT HAS STRUCK MILITARY TARGETS INSIDE INDIA IN SERIES OF NEW ATTACKSIn his noon phone call with Modi, Vance made it clear that the U.S. believed that there was a high probability of dramatic escalation as the conflict went into the weekend. The vice president encouraged Modi to consider de-escalation options, including a potential off-ramp that U.S. officials knew the Pakistanis would be amenable to.Modi listened to the vice presidents message, although he didnt explicitly indicate openness to any of the options put forth.Vance's call to Modi came less than a month after he met with the Indian leader in New Delhi to discuss trade talks. From that point, key U.S. officials continued to work the phones with their counterparts in India and Pakistan into the night to help re-establish communications between the two sides, allowing them to work out terms for a ceasefire in the next 12 to 18 hours.PAKISTAN, INDIA SUGGEST POSSIBLE DE-ESCALATION AMID BOTH COUNTRIES' MISSILE STRIKES"After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE," President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social just before 8 a.m. on Saturday. Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Lisa McClain, R-Mich., reacted to the president's announcement byreferring to himin a post on X as "The Peace President."U.S. Secretary of StateMarco Rubionoted in a statement that he and Vance had engaged with officials from the two foreign countries."Over the past 48 hours, Vice President Vance and I have engaged with senior Indian and Pakistani officials, including Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif, External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and National Security Advisors Ajit Doval and Asim Malik," Rubio said in thestatement."I am pleased to announce the Governments of India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire and to start talks on a broad set of issues at a neutral site," he continued. "We commend Prime Ministers Modi and Sharif on their wisdom, prudence, and statesmanship in choosing the path of peace."Vance wrote in aposton X, "Great work from the Presidents team, especially Secretary Rubio. And my gratitude to the leaders of India and Pakistan for their hard work and willingness to engage in this ceasefire."

He will join a crowded quarterback room in Cleveland that also includes Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Kenny Pickett.Gabriel, who the Browns drafted in the third round, took an equal number of snaps as Sanders during a roughly 90-minute practice session at minicamp.Browns coach Kevin Stefanski complimented both rookies."I think the fun part is weve spent so much predraft time with these players, particularly when were talking about our quarterbacks with Dillon and Shedeur," he said. "Weve spent meeting time with them out of this building. Weve taken them through walk-throughs, and then they get to go do it in uniform with the helmets on and just see what they can take from the meeting room to the grass."Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
