Myrtle Beach girlfriend showed up at hospital after allegedly setting beau up for murder, mom says
Trey Wright was over the moon for his new girlfriend, a cheerleader he'd been dating going into summer break from school, according to his mom. But after an apparent fight, she allegedly set him up to die, then visited the hospital before his family knew what happened. Two days after the excited South Carolina 16-year-old told family that dating her "felt like a dream come true," it became a nightmare. Authorities allege that she set him up to be shot and killed by another teen three years his senior."They knew each other, far as I know, no longer than two months," his 35-year-old single mother, Ashley Lindsey, told Fox News Digital.Gianna Kistenmacher, 17, is being charged as an adult after authorities say she brought Devan Raper, 19, to Wright's location, knowing he was armed, angry and allegedly willing to shoot.VICTIM'S GIRLFRIEND AMONG 9 TEENS ARRESTED IN 16-YEAR-OLD'S BEACH TOWN MURDERAlthough they didn't know each other long, Wright made sure his family knew he was serious about his new girlfriend, his mother said."Every time she came to see him, he made a point of being around me with her, like he wanted me to get to know her," Lindsey said. "Because he truly liked her and enjoyed spending time with her."But after an escalating argument on the night of his murder, she and a group of teens allegedly drove about an hour to Wright's location in Johnsonville from where most of them lived in Myrtle Beach. Then Raper is accused of fatally shooting him. "She even went to the hospital after he was shot," Lindsey said of Kistenmacher. "I hugged her neck and was comforting her because I didn't know."SIX MIGRANTS CHARGED IN SC MOMS MURDER DETAILED CRIME IN EERIE MESSAGES: JUST THE BEGINNINGOne of Wright's female friends, another teen, snapped at Kistenmacher in the hospital. The adults broke it up, and she left with her parents only to be arrested later on charges of accessory before the fact. Prosecutors eventually upgraded the charges against her as the investigation dug deeper. In all, there are seven teens who are either over 18 or being charged as adults plus another two juveniles, who are all accused of playing a role in the setup and shooting. One of them recorded the slaying on video, according to the local sheriff a brutal and confusing fact for Lindsey."Why, why did they do this?" the mourning mom pondered. "What pushed them to the point to drive over an hour, nine kids, to commit murder, and then to record it?"It happened in late June, but authorities have continued to expand their case over the following months, naming two more suspects last week Braylyn O'Neil Thompson, 17, and Jaden Blaze Auclaire, 18.FATHER OUTRAGED AFTER DISCOVERING DAUGHTER'S ALLEGED KILLER SHOULD HAVE BEEN BEHIND BARS YEARS AGOWhile Lindsey said she doesn't expect any more arrests, she said the lead detective is still interviewing witnesses in search of more details about the motive.Other suspects facing murder charges are 18-year-olds Hunter Kendall and Corrine Belviso and 17-year-old Sydney Kearns.Raper faces charges of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and is being held without bond. Kendall is also being held without bond. The others have been released on bond and their parents' supervision, which Lindsey argues has proven to mean little.SOUTH CAROLINA DEPUTY SHOT AND KILLED IN AMBUSH, SHERIFF SAYS"These underage kids, they got out with ankle monitors on under their parents' supervision, but where were their parents the night that my kid was killed?" she said. "They're out at 11, 12 o'clock at night and y'all are underage. Where were the parents then?"Her son, meanwhile, was where he was "supposed to be," at a close friend's house, when the group showed up."Obviously, the parents ain't doing a good job at keeping them at home," she said. And she's already seen evidence that the terms of release have been violated, at least by some of the suspects, she said. Wright's best friends allegedly caught one juvenile reading their Snapchat story when he was not supposed to be using cellphones or other devices, she said. Two others, who were banned from having contact with their co-defendants, posed outside the juvenile justice center in a photo captioned, "I'm free," followed by a racial slur.MASS SHOOTING IN MYRTLE BEACH TOURIST HOT SPOT LEAVES 1 DEAD, 11 WOUNDEDWright played football and baseball and had been working at a local deer processor since he was 13, his mom told Fox News Digital. His bosses treated him like family, and she never missed a ballgame. He had only gotten into football in eighth grade, but he picked it up quick running for two touchdowns in his first game. He would have played up next year, she said.In general, he was a pleasant and positive young man, she said."He didnt too much care for school, but he still went every day with a smile on his face, because he was a morning person," she said. "He used to wake up singing, take 30 minutes in the mirror blow-drying his hair, so his little surfer boy flip on the side of his hat was perfect."He took his road test young and already had a driver's license. So his single mom bought him a truck for Christmas, and once he was driving, he was all over the place, she said."When I say my kid can go anywhere and never meet a stranger, everywhere he went he was making new friends, getting somebodys number," she told Fox News Digital. "I had a woman from Myrtle Beach, Little River, she wrote me after everything happened, and she said, look, me and my husband own a Southern Outfitters store, my daughter met your son over spring break. They talked every day, through Snapchat, whatever. She said Trey really touched her heart."He also began going to car shows closer to Myrtle Beach, where he met Kistenmacher, Raper and some of the others.Kistenmacher's Myrtle Beach-based lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

House GOP recruits candidates in Ohio, Michigan Trump districts held by Democrats
EXCLUSIVE: From Toledo to Flint, Republicans are targeting two Democratic-held congressional seats in the industrial Midwest that President Donald Trump won last year. With a razor-thin 219-212 majority in the U.S. House, Republicans are eyeing crossover districts the 13 congressional districts where Trump won at the top of the ticket, but Democrats held on down-ballot.Top of mind for Republicans ahead of the midterm elections is Ohio's 9th Congressional District, held by the longest-serving woman in Congress, Rep. Marcy Kaptur, and Michigan's 8th Congressional District, represented by freshman Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet.Freshman GOP Rep. Brian Jack of Georgia, Trump's former political director who is now leading candidate recruitment for House Republicans as deputy chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), visited those crossover districts this week.4 KEY SENATE SEATS REPUBLICANS AIM TO FLIP IN 2026 MIDTERMS TO EXPAND THEIR MAJORITYIn a phone interview with Fox News Digital from Toledo, Ohio, while "looking out on the Maumee River," Jack said Kaptur and McDonald Rivet are out of step with the constituents they represent.TRUMP, REPUBLICANS RACE TO REDRAW TEXAS CONGRESSIONAL MAP AS DEMOCRATS THREATEN LEGAL WAR"Kaptur has represented Toledo for 42 years, which is longer than some of our candidates have been alive," Jack said.Jack described how Kaptur has seen a "significant decline in her vote percentages." In 2016, Kaptur won with 68% of the vote. Last year, in 2024, the Democratic congresswoman received just 48% of the vote."I believe that's because, over the past seven, eight years, voters have become familiar with her posture toward President Trump," Jack said. "President Trump carried this district with 53%, a clear majority, and yet she still voted twice to subvert the will of her voters, by voting to twice impeach President Trump and remove him from office against the will her own constituents."While Kaptur remains in line with the Democratic Party on key issues, like rejecting Trump's "big, beautiful bill," his marquee legislation which includes tax cuts, green energy reform and border security Ohio has shifted red in recent election cycles."This used to be the perennial bellwether swing state," Jack said. "As we have seen from 2016 through 2024, it has increasingly aligned with President Trump and voted overwhelmingly to send President Trump to the White House three separate times. That accurately reflects the will of the people of this incredible state."Candidates for Ohio's 9th Congressional District include former GOP nominee and four-term state Rep. Derek Merrin, Ohio state Rep. Josh Williams, Air National Guard Lt. Col. Alea Nadeem, and retired Air Force Lt. Col. Wayne Kinsel.State Senate President Sen. Rob McColley is also considered a potential candidate. Jack met with local party officials, the four declared candidates and the potential candidate in the race while visiting the Buckeye State.Jack said Republicans are excited and inspired by these candidates, telling Fox News Digital, "When you look at the districts that are seeking a change in elected office, Ohio's ninth is one of the first districts that comes to mind."In McDonald Rivet's crossover district, Jack also met with U.S. Navy veteran Amir Hassan, who is the only declared Republican candidate."As voters continue to learn about the Rep. McDonald Rivet's voting record, I suspect that they're going to raise questions about why she's voting against the president, who the district overwhelmingly elected," Jack said.Jack said when he hosted Vice President JD Vance in his hometown of Peachtree City, Georgia, more than a thousand voters showed up in 90-degree heat, drawing a sharp contrast to the fewer than 50 people who were protesting in the swing state. And as Democrats campaign against Trump's "big, beautiful bill," and Medicaid cuts take center stage for Democrats ahead of the midterms, Jack told Fox News Digital, "It's incumbent upon us to continue to promote, not just the victories of the bill, but the details within it, because it is an encapsulation of everything on which Trump campaigned."When reached for comment, McDonald Rivet's campaign spokesperson, Tom Grandon, told Fox News Digital that she is "working every day to make life more affordable for working families.""She has proven countless times throughout her career that she will work with anyone, regardless of party, to accomplish that, and she has bipartisan bills that will lower key costs, like medicine, taxes, and eggs. However, she will also fight tirelessly against any agenda that prioritizes billionaires over lower costs for working people," the campaign added.Kaptur and the Democratic National Congressional Committee (DCCC) did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Todd Chrisley shares President Trumps surprising first remark after prison pardon
Just moments after he was released from federal prison for tax evasion and fraud charges, Todd Chrisley came face-to-face with the "gracious" man responsible for pardoning him and his wife, Julie Chrisley President Donald Trump. In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, the "Chrisley Knows Best" star who is currently promoting Lifetime's new docuseries, "The Chrisleys: Back to Reality," alongside his family opened up about the candid conversation he had with the president via FaceTime while still on prison grounds, revealed the unexpected comment he received, and detailed the "humble" side of Trump that the public rarely sees."He was very kind, as I've said before, and I'll say for the rest of my life, I'm grateful to President Trump because President Trump reunited my family," said Todd, who had just reunited with daughter, Savannah Chrisley, when he took the FaceTime call with Trump in May. "And regardless of how you feel about leaning left, right, or whatever your political beliefs are, I don't know of anyone that's incarcerated that would turn down a pardon from President Trump."TODD AND JULIE CHRISLEY RETURN TO REALITY TV AFTER TRUMP PARDON FREES THEM FROM PRISONThe Chrisleys, who rose to fame with their hit reality show "Chrisley Knows Best," were convicted of federal bank fraud and tax evasion and had been serving prison time since their 2022 conviction. The couple, who have maintained their innocence, reported to prison on Jan. 17, 2022 and were sentenced to 12 and seven years, respectively. In May, Todd and Julie were released from federal prison after they received pardons from President Trump."Its a terrible thing, but its a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow. Is that OK? Well try getting it done tomorrow," Trump told the Chrisley's children, Savannah and Chase, in a phone call from the Oval Office that was posted on the X account of a White House aide. The post was captioned in part, "Trump Knows Best!"CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERSavannah, who has worked tirelessly to get her parents pardoned, told Fox News Digital that her various conversations with President Trump always made her feel "heard.""For me, when I spoke to the president for the very first time, I like to tell people I was so shocked because it wasn't like I was having a conversation with the president," she said. "It felt like I was having a conversation with my father. The president was asking me about how I had custody of my brother and sister and how much time my parents got, and he wanted to know the story, and he wanted to know how I was doing. ""So for that, he made me feel heard," she added. "And for that I will forever be grateful for him and Alice Johnson and everyone else who worked on the case and fought for my family."On May 28, Todd recalled waking up in prison, expecting to go about his daily routine. He never expected to walk out a free man.WATCH: TODD CHRISLEY SHARES PRESIDENT TRUMPS SURPRISING FIRST REMARK AFTER PRISON PARDON"Listen, I've said again on our ['Chrisley Confessions 2.0'] podcast that I've had so many Joseph moments to happen in my life from the time this whole thing started," he said. "And so you go to bed on May the 27th, and you know that on the 28th you're going to get up and do the same thing over and over and over again. That's not the way my life happened."TODD AND JULIE CHRISLEY CALL LIFE AFTER PRISON MORE DIFFICULT THAN TIME BEHIND BARS"My Joseph moment was getting up that morning and then that afternoon being told, you've been pardoned, we've got to get you out of here," he continued. "That's how quickly your life can change. When I spoke with President Trump via FaceTime, his first thing was, Well, wow, you look great. And I was like, Well, thank you. But he was very kind and very gracious."The father-of-six said most of the public doesn't "get to see" that side of the President."We've been blessed to be able to see the kindness that President Trump has," Todd explained. "We've been blessed to see a humble man behind the scenes. And again, I want to separate political beliefs and let's look at each other as human beings, as all children of God, and to lift each other up.""I'm not looking to be divisive about anything," he added. "So President Trump has been wonderful to us and so has his family. Lara Trump has been wonderful to us, and we love her dearly."Additionally, Todd said he and his family owe a great deal to Alice Johnson, an American criminal justice reform advocate, who assisted in the pardon."And I don't think that Alice Johnson has been given all the credit that she deserves," Todd explained. "This woman has been fighting for so many years for so many people, and she's been on the inside. She knows what it's like. And so between God, President Trump, my daughter, Alice Johnson, we had a lot of people that stepped in and interceded on our behalf.""I think that it's very important for people to know that these pardons are not just given out," he continued. "There's a whole process that goes along with this and there's vetting, and they go through these legal records, and they do their research through the Department of Justice. And once they had established that there was huge issues in this case, that was the turning point.""Regardless of all the hard work that [Savannah] had done, it wouldn't have mattered had the merits not been there for President Trump to make that decision," he added. In July, Todd and Julie opened up about life in prison and explained why life on the outside can sometimes be more difficult."Ive actually talked to a few of the women that I was in prison with that theyre already home," Julie, 52, began to explain during the July 23 episode of their "Chrisley Confessions 2.0" podcast.WATCH: TODD CHRISLEY: WE'RE COMING BACK TO TELEVISION"We all have this general consensus that its kind of weird to even say it."Todd, 56, added, "No, its not weird. Life is rougher than prison life.""It is so horrific, the conditions that youre there for, but thats from a physical standpoint," he explained. "But from an emotional and psychological standpoint, it is harder dealing with day to day.""The Chrisleys: Back to Reality"will premiere as a two-night eventSeptember 1and 2 at 8/7c. Veteran burns American flag in front of White House on day of controversial Trump executive order
A U.S. military veteran was filmed burning an American flag outside the White House on the same day that President Donald Trump signed an executive order seeking new consequences for doing so.Trump signed the order on Monday, directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to prosecute violations of laws involving flag desecration and to pursue litigation that would clarify the scope of the First Amendment as it relates to flag desecration. The order additionally directs Bondi to refer flag desecration cases that violate state and local laws to appropriate local authorities.Footage from outside the White House on the same day shows a man who identified himself as a veteran speaking through a megaphone while burning the flag."I am a 20-year veteran of the United States Army," the man says as the flag burns at his feet. "It is our First Amendment right to burn this flag, regardless of what the president says."TRUMP FLAG BURNING EXECUTIVE ORDER COULD FLIP FIRST AMENDMENT ON ITS HEAD WITH NEW COURTAt one point in the video, another man approaches the veteran, but it is unclear what he says. The veteran responds by repeatedly telling him to "get away from me."Trump's order followed months of protesters burning American flags at various anti-Israel and anti-ICE demonstrations.VETERANS DISGUSTED BY ANTI-ISRAEL PROTESTS, FLAG-BURNING: 'DISGRACE' TO AMERICATrump has nevertheless faced pushback from the right on social media after signing the order, with conservatives largely defending flag-burning as a First Amendment right."I would never in a million years harm the American flag. But a president telling me I cant has me as close as Ill ever be to lighting one on fire. I am a free American citizen. And if I ever feel like torching one, I will. This is garbage," conservative radio host Jesse Kelly wrote on X."Flag burning is vile but the government has no right to control speech or expression," radio host Dana Loesch wrote.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPThe Supreme Court ruled in the 1989 case Texas v. Johnson that burning the American flag is a form of symbolic speech that is protected by the First Amendment. Trumps executive order, which directs the attorney general to "pursue litigation to clarify the scope of the First Amendment exceptions" in the realm of flag burning, signals there will likely be upcoming litigation challenging the 1989 ruling.Fox News' Lindsey Kornick contributed to this report

A 12-year-old boy missing for nearly two weeks in New Orleans was killed in an alligator attack, authorities said Wednesday, after the boys body was recovered from a lagoon. The Orleans Parish Coroners Office determined that Bryan Vasquez died from blunt force trauma due to an alligator and drowning, New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick told reporters at a press conference.Kirkpatrick said the boys death is considered "unclassified," and that an investigation remains ongoing.Vasquez, who is non-verbal, was first reported missing by family on Auguar 14 after he reportedly escaped through a bedroom window, the New Orleans Police Department said. He was seen wandering alone and wearing only a diaper on doorbell camera footage around 5:20 a.m. that morning.TEEN'S BODY FOUND UNDER SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES AT DETROIT AREA CEMETERY PROMPTS INVESTIGATIONHis body was pulled from a lagoon on Tuesday about 200 yards from where he likely entered the water near his home with the help of the United Cajun Navy and a thermal drone, Kirkpatrick said. The boys disappearance sparked a frantic search involving local, state and federal agencies, volunteers, airboats and bloodhounds. Police, however, have faced criticism over a five-hour delay in their response to a 911 call about the child.NORTH CAROLINA TEEN'S BODY DISCOVERED IN FLORIDA ONE WEEK AFTER HE VANISHED WITH CHILLING FINAL MESSAGEKirkpatrick said it was unclear what caused the delay, noting that there will be an internal investigation to determine why."I think the death of Bryan is a failure," Kirkpatrick said. "I think it is. We are going to look at everything, and I mean everything."Meanwhile, Kirkpatrick also confirmed that a search warrant was granted and several phones were confiscated, including Bryans mothers phone. Kirkpatrick said this was a normal part of the investigation and there were still no suspects at this time."Were looking at everyones situation, their history, their backgrounds, based on what weve been told," Kirkpatrick said. "Thats why all facts have to be put into context. But there is no suspect. Circumstances is what we have now."

Common painkillers may fuel deadly superbugs that resist antibiotics, study warns
A startling new study warns that two of Americas most common over-the-counter painkillers, ibuprofen (Advil) and acetaminophen (Tylenol), may have an unexpected role in one of the world's most urgent public health crises. The everyday painkillers were found to fuel the superbugs that contribute to antibiotic resistance.Researchers at the University of South Australia conducted lab tests with E. coli and ciprofloxacin, a common antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections.TWO CANCER DRUGS SHOW PROMISE IN REVERSING ALZHEIMER'S DEVASTATING EFFECTSThey found that ibuprofen and paracetamol (the generic name for Tylenol in Australia) not only drive antibiotic resistance when used individually, but amplify it when used together."It is well-known that overuse of antibiotics leads to resistance," Fox News senior medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel, who was not involved in the study, told Fox News Digital. It has previously been shown that the use of common pain relievers (NSAIDs) and antidepressants can lead to antibiotic resistance. In the new research, when E. coli was exposed to ciprofloxacin alongside ibuprofen and paracetamol both alone and especially when combined the painkillers significantly increased genetic mutations in the bacteria.NSAIDS VS. ACETAMINOPHEN: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOUR NEXT HEADACHEThese mutations made E. coli highly resistant to ciprofloxacin and other types of antibiotics."Antibiotic resistance isnt just about antibiotics anymore," Associate Professor Rietie Venter, the studys lead author, stated in a press release, highlighting the impact of medications beyond antibiotics. The study highlights a concern in settings where it's common to administer multiple medications, like elder care facilities.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTERResidents often receive combinations of painkillers, sleeping aids, decongestants and other drugs, many of which were included in the study. In this kind of environment, there is a heightened risk of resistant superbugs, experts warn. The World Health Organization designates antimicrobial resistance (AMR) as one of the top global public health threats. In 2019, drug-resistant bacteria were directly responsible for 1.27 million deaths and were associated with nearly five million deaths. If the current trend continues, projections suggest that AMR-related deaths could climb to nearly 40 million over the next 25 years."This doesnt mean we should stop using these medications, but we do need to be more mindful about how they interact with antibiotics and that includes looking beyond just two-drug combinations," Venter said in the press release. In high-risk settings like elder care, healthcare providers may want to re-examine medication schedules and consider safer alternatives, he suggests. For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/healthTo help curb AMR, experts recommend avoiding unnecessary prescriptions and completing full courses when needed.Fox News Digital reached out to the makers of Tylenol and Advil for comment.
