Country star Ronnie McDowell suffered a stroke mid-performance at the Summer Solstice Music Festival in Pennsylvania earlier this summer.McDowell slurred his words onstage June 21 in Oley, before his son and tour manager stepped in and paused to show to make sure his dad was OK.In a new interview with Town & Country, McDowell revealed what he told his son at that moment."And I said, 'No, I think I'm having a stroke,'" he told the outlet. Ronnie was taken to a nearby hospital in Pennsylvania where the stroke was later confirmed.COUNTRY MUSIC SINGER RONNIE MCDOWELL RUSHED TO HOSPITAL MID-PERFORMANCE AFTER SLURRING WORDSAt the hospital, McDowell was informed that surgery was needed to clear the blockage that caused the stroke. He was told by the doctors onsite that he could travel home for the procedure and emergency surgery was not needed."[The doctor] said, 'I'm gonna let you go home, and let me tell you why. I've been doing this 30-something years. I listened to your heart, and you've got the strongest heart I have ever heard,'" McDowell recalled the conversation with his doctor.He continued, "He said, 'That's what saved you. Because you were 70-, almost 80 percent blocked.' He said, Your heart was pumping through that really hard, and it scraped the plaque off."McDowell had surgery a few weeks after his onstage stroke. The rescue of an experienced mountaineer has been called off in Kyrgyzstan nearly two weeks after Natasha Nagovitsina, 47, broke her leg not far from the summit of the countrys tallest mountain, according to reports.Nagovitsina, a Russian climber who garnered fame four years ago after she refused to leave her husband after he suffered a stroke, has been stuck at 22,965 feet on Victory Peak since Aug. 12, according to the Daily Mail. Despite her efforts, her husband died.The summit of Victory Peak, in the Tian Shan Mountain Range on the border with China, is 24,406 feet. A Columbia University student was among five people killed Friday when a tour bus returning from Niagara Falls rolled over on a rural stretch of Interstate 90 of the New York State Thruway in upstate New York, according to authorities.In a statement to Fox News Digital, Columbia University said it is mourning the death of Xie Hongzhuo, 22, of Beijing, China, who was a student in New York City."This heartbreaking loss is felt deeply across our community," a spokesperson wrote in a statement. Move over Eagles, another raptor is taking over the gridiron.Ospreys who chose to raise their chicks in a nest on top of a light pole at a high school football stadium in Minnesota now have the whole field to themselves.Ospreys are a federally and state protected species, and because of their nesting location, the Apple Valley High School Eagles football team must rearrange their schedule."When you tell someone this story of Wow, we have to reschedule because theres an osprey nest in our stadium, theyre like, You cant make this type of stuff up, right?" Cory Hanson, athletic director at the school, whose mascot is the Eagles, told The Associated Press.RARE SIGHTING AS THREATENED BIRD SPECIES LIKELY GOT LOST, ENDING UP 1,000 MILES FROM HOME IN WISCONSINThe Eagles must now play all of their home games during the day because turning on the floodlights where the birds have their nest could hurt them.Heidi Cyr, of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, said the school can remove the nest once the osprey chicks are able to fly away, which shouldnt take too long."Luckily for Apple Valley, they should be able to remove the nest within probably a week because the birds have already taken some of their first flights," Cyr explained.The school, which became aware of the nest in June, has been sending a drone up every few days to check on the chicks progress.School officials plan to relocate the nest to another platform on school grounds and build deterrents on the stadium lights once the chicks leave, hoping the ospreys will return next year.TITANS' FINAL PRESEASON GAME MARRED BY ADULT TOY THROWN ONTO FIELD"So if anyone sees that happening, dont worry," Cyr said. "The birds are safe.
