Socialist Dem mayoral candidate knocked over foreign-language rally as he loses key endorsement
Democratic socialist and Minneapolis mayoral candidate Omar Fateh, a Somali American, is being knocked for holding a political rally in a foreign language that appeared entirely devoid of any American flags. This comes as Fateh, who has been likened to socialist New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, lost a critical endorsement from the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party (DFL).House Majority Whip Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn., commented on the rally, saying in an X post, "This is the least shocking news: There were almost no American flags at a @OmarFatehMN rally. Palestinian stickers were the main focus instead.""Thats what you get when Democrats back a candidate who puts America last, hands out benefits to illegals, and pushes to defund the police," wrote Emmer.MINNEAPOLIS DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST OMAR FATEH VOWS TO PROTECT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS FROM 'HOSTILE' TRUMP ADMINPopular conservative social media account "End Wokeness" posted several excerpts from the rally, which included chanting in a foreign language and a crowd holding signs supporting Fateh."Omar Fateh rally in Minneapolis last night. 0 English. 0 American flags," End Wokeness commented.Another conservative influencer, Eric Daugherty, also chimed in, saying, "This was the rally for Omar Fateh last night, candidate for Mayor of Minneapolis. Third world music, third world language, third world attire.""Minneapolis is doomed," added Daugherty."RED, WHITE & GONE," another popular conservative account called NewYork-I posted, adding, "Omar Fateh rally in Minneapolis without a single U.S. flag or word of English."REPUBLICAN LEADER SHREDS TIM WALZ OVER MINNESOTA LAW THAT FREED AXE MURDEREROn Thursday, the Minnesota DFL dropped its endorsement of Fateh, citing "substantial failures in the Minneapolis Conventions voting process."DFL Party Chairman Richard Carlbom said in an official statement on Thursday that "after a thoughtful and transparent review of the challenges, the Constitution, Bylaws & Rules Committee found substantial failures in the Minneapolis Conventions voting process on July 19th, including an acknowledgment that a mayoral candidate was errantly eliminated from contention."Carlbom said that as a result of the review, "the Constitution, Bylaws & Rules Committee has vacated the mayoral endorsement."He called on the Minnesota Democratic Party to "turn our focus to unity and our common goal," saying, "with an eye towards the 2026 midterms, the Minnesota DFL will broaden our coalition to elect leaders who will build an affordable economy that works for everyone."Fatehs campaign had not responded to Fox News Digitals request for comment by the time of publication. However, in a video statement posted on X, Fateh claimed that the decision to revoke his endorsement was made by "28 party insiders" who he said included supporters and donors of incumbent Mayor Jacob Frey. Frey is also a Democrat and has been endorsed by Minnesota Democratic Gov. and one-time vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz.MAMDANI-MENTUM: WHO ARE THE OTHER SOCIALIST CANDIDATES SOARING AMONG DEMOCRATS"This is exactly what Minneapolis voters are sick of, the insider games, the backroom decisions and feeling like our voice doesnt matter in our own city," Fateh claimed."Let me be clear," he went on, "Were still in this fight and were going to win."Fox News Digital reached out to Freys office for comment, but also did not receive a response by the time of publication. In an X post, Frey wrote, "I'm proud to be a member of a party that believes in correcting our mistakes, and I'm glad that this inaccurate and obviously flawed process was set aside."ILHAN OMAR ERUPTS AT OWN PARTY FOR RENEGING ON SOCIALIST CANDIDATE'S ENDORSEMENT: 'INEXCUSABLE'"I look forward to having a full and honest debate with Senator Fateh about our city's future, with the outcome now resting squarely where it should with all the people of Minneapolis," he wrote.Emmer, meanwhile, weighed in on the controversy, telling Fox News Digital that "even Omar Fatehs own state party knows his radical, leftist policies would just add to the damage the DFL has already done to Minneapolis.""They can blame their unsecured voting system, as ironic as that is, but we all know Fatehs agenda was always doomed to fail," said Emmer.

Kamala Harris swears in top Dem on committee probing Biden as chairman urges her testimony
The top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee was sworn into his new leadership role earlier this week by former Vice President Kamala Harris one of the key ex-White House officials the panels chair is interested in hearing from in its probe of President Joe Biden.Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., was elected to serve as ranking member of the committee in June, following the death of former ranking member Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va.Harris, who swore Garcia in as mayor of Long Beach in 2014 when she was Californias attorney general, reprised that role on Wednesday in a ceremonial swearing-in when Garcia took over his new Oversight role.It happened the same week as House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., again didn't rule out bringing Harris in before his committee, as he investigates whether former President Joe Bidens top aides conspired to hide signs of mental decline in the ex-commander-in-chief.LONGTIME BIDEN AIDE SAYS HE STOOD TO EARN UP TO $8M HAD PRESIDENT WON RE-ELECTION"I think that it would be helpful to hear from Kamala Harris," Comer told Fox News Digital on Thursday."And I think that, you know, if I were her, wanted to have a political future, I would want to set the record straight on a lot of this stuff. Because it's going to haunt her her entire political career, because nobody thinks that Joe Biden was calling the shots in the end."The House Oversight Committees ranking member has traditionally served as a top foil to the party in power, coordinating their partys response to investigations led by the panels majority.RON KLAIN DODGES REPORTERS AFTER MARATHON GRILLING IN BIDEN COVER-UP PROBEAmong House Oversight Republicans key focuses right now is the probe into Biden.A Republican member of the panel, Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., previously called for Harris to be subpoenaed, but Comer said it was still up in the air."We haven't decided whether we're going to issue the subpoena or not, but certainly she's welcome to come to the committee," Comer said.Garcia said Wednesday that he was "honored" to be sworn in by Harris, who he said "has always fought for our country and shown us what true leadership looks like.""Im especially grateful to have been able to share this moment with Vice President Harris, and Im ready to get to work to hold Donald Trump and his administration accountable for their corruption and abuses of power. We will deliver real results for the American people," Garcia said in a statement without mentioning Comers Biden probe. He was elected to the ranking member role via an internal House Democratic Caucus vote, besting three other candidates, including Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas. Crockett notably dropped out of the race after failing to win Democratic leaders' recommendation for the job.

ICE notifies Kilmar Abrego Garcia's lawyers of possible deportation to Uganda after Tennessee jail release
Immigration and Customs Enforcement told the lawyers of illegal immigrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia that he may be deported to Uganda after he was released from jail in Tennessee on Friday, Fox News has learned.ICE and Department of Homeland Security documents obtained by Fox News showed that ICE notified Abrego Garcia's lawyers that he may be deported to Uganda in "no less than 72 hours" and must check in with any agent at the ICE office in Baltimore on Monday. This comes after Uganda reached a deal with the U.S. to accept third-party deportations.Following his release from a Tennessee jail on Friday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Barbara Holmes placed Abrego Garcia in his brother's custody as a third-party custodian ahead of trial. He must wear an electronic monitoring device, check in with Pretrial Services in Maryland and report there no later than 10 a.m. on Monday.ABREGO GARCIA RELEASED FROM JAIL, WILL RETURN TO MARYLAND TO AWAIT TRIALAbrego Garica was first deported to El Salvador earlier this year for being a suspected MS-13 member despite an immigration court in 2019 granting him protected status over the risk he would be targeted by gangs. He was brought back to the U.S. in June and placed in federal custody in Tennessee on human smuggling charges after a 2022 traffic stop resurfaced.Court filings later revealed the investigation began while he was jailed in El Salvador, raising questions about how the probe was conducted. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.JUDGE SETS STRICT CONDITIONS FOR ABREGO GARCIA'S RELEASE AS TRUMP OFFICIALS PURSUE CASE AGAINST HIMU.S. District Judge Paula Xinis in Maryland, who is overseeing Abrego Garcia's civil lawsuit challenging the legality of his deportation, has instructed federal officials to give his lawyers 72 hours notice before beginning deportation proceedings to allow them the opportunity to file a challenge.Abrego Garcia's case sparked national attention this year after the Trump administration initially refused to bring him back from El Salvador, despite acknowledging in court filings that his deportation was an "administrative error."His detention in the South American country sparked visits from U.S. lawmakers, notably Sen. Chris van Hollen, D-Md.His release on Friday was met with public frustration by Trump administration officials.Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem purported that Abrego Garcia is a criminal and a violator of immigration law, describing him as a "monster" released by "activist liberal judges" after he was released on Friday."We will not stop fighting till this Salvadoran man faces justice and is OUT of our country," Noem wrote on X.Fox News' Breanne Deppisch and Ashley Oliver, and Reuters contributed to this report.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markles wedding day sparked profane reaction from Prince Philip: book
Prince Philip didnt mince his words on his grandsons big day.Grant Harrold, King Charless former butler, claimed that the Duke of Edinburgh didnt hold back after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said "I do" in 2018. In his upcoming memoir, "The Royal Butler," the etiquette expert claimed he overheard "a few choice words" from Queen Elizabeth IIs husband."Once all the formalities were over, we watched as the happy couple, and then the other members of the royal family, filed out of the chapel," Harrold wrote, according to an excerpt published by The Telegraph.PRINCE HARRY, MEGHAN MARKLE'S ROYAL EXIT CAUSED UNFORGIVABLE PAIN IN QUEEN ELIZABETHS FINAL YEARS: EXPERT"When Prince Philip came out, he turned to the Queen and said, Thank f--- thats over."Archewell, which handles the offices for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, told Fox News Digital they had no comment.Meghan, an American actress who starred in "Suits," married the British prince in a ceremony that was held at St Georges Chapel. Both the queen, who died in 2022, and Philip, who passed away in 2021, were in attendance.Several royal experts told Fox News Digital they werent surprised by the alleged remarks made by Philip."He was 96 years old at their wedding," said British royals expert Hilary Fordwich. "He had just recovered from surgery, so he was likely in pain and tired. Anyone would not have been at their best, alone at his ripe age.""Prince Philip was infamous for his colorful language and, on occasion, inappropriate, offensive comments," said British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTER"His gaffes became the norm, many putting it down to his razor-sharp tongue, lack of inhibition and PC due to his older generation," she shared. "On this particular occasion, Prince Philip was feeling groggy, tired and fed up. Hed had enough for the day. He didnt have enough tact left in his tank.""It wasnt a personal swipe at the Sussexes," Chard added.Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner said he was all too familiar with Philips blistering words and no-nonsense approach to life."There are many expletives that could describe Philip, who was known for his outspoken views on anyone who would care to listen," said Turner. "I used to be a royal photographer. Whenever I was given that task, I would check my life insurance, as he could be dangerous at times, especially when he was on his horse and carriage."WATCH: PRINCE WILLIAMS MISTRUST OF MEGHAN MARKLE STALLS PEACE WITH PRINCE HARRY: AUTHOR"More than once, he would full charge towards me," he recalled. "Once I had to dive into a thorn bush to get out of his way, and he muttered a similar oath to me, even though I was doing his carriage championships a massive favor. In reality, he was my least popular royal to work with. He led his own life So, swearing after the wedding is just par for a man who thought he could get away with his behavior."Philip spent more than seven decades supporting his wife, Englands longest-reigning monarch. She affectionately referred to him as her rock in public. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020, citing the unbearable intrusions of the British press and a lack of support from the palace. They moved to California that year. The couple went on to air their grievances in interviews, documentaries, as well as Harrys 2023 memoir "Spare."In sit-downs leading up to the books publication, Harry accused members of the royal family of getting "into bed with the devil" to gain favorable tabloid coverage. He singled out Queen Camillas efforts to rehabilitate her image after her longtime affair with his father, the king. In the book, Harry also claimed that he and his brother begged their father not to marry Camilla.Harrold admitted to The Telegraph that he was surprised by Harrys words."[The family] got on so well," he told the outlet. "And thats why I dont understand what Harrys said, I really dont understand. Because I saw them. I saw them having dinners together, I saw them having drinks together, I saw them going to parties together The king used to do things to make [his sons] laugh and giggle."Harrold also noted that both Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, made sure to include Harry in their "little gang."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? Chelsy was always around. And Chelsy and Kate got on really well."The brothers were "so close," Harrold insisted about William and Harry."The banter was great," he told the outlet. "They used to go around being silly with each other and winding each other up, jumping out at their dad from corners and making him laugh. It was just like a [normal] family."

Cracker Barrel CEO serves up leftover corporate branding to unhappy customers
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, the chain of southern-style restaurants with a gift shop that lines highways across America, has gotten a makeover. Their logo has lost the "Old Country Store" tagline, as well as the iconic man in a chair resting his arm on a barrel in favor of the words Cracker Barrel in text only. Inside, per patron videos of remodeled locations, gone is the dark nostalgic feel replaced with a sterile renovation. The knick-knacks have gone from quirky kitsch from yesteryear to something you might see in a suburban craft store. While the companys CEO has said that initial reaction to these changes was positive, the verdict across social media was very much the opposite. The new look removes the old-school charm and character that was central to the brands identity for decades.Cracker Barrel is just the latest in a string of companies, including Jaguar more recently and even Coca-Cola in the mid-80s with their New Coke rollout, to violate the critical principle of making sure that you do not alienate your loyal customer base.DAVID MARCUS: CRACKER BARREL ABANDONS CUSTOMERS, TRADING AUTHENTICITY FOR CORPORATE SLOPI wear many hats in business and have more than 20 years of experience as an advocate for loyal customers and clients in business, working in an outsourced CCO (Chief Customer Officer) function and sharing my proprietary customer loyalty models via speeches and consulting with both the biggest companies in the world and a variety of small and mid-sized businesses. And I firmly believe that one of a companys most important assets isnt listed on its balance sheet: the companys loyal customers.Loyal customers are easier to sell more to, both in frequency of purchases and upsells, because they already love your business and have often given you permission to communicate with them and build a relationship. They are also excellent advocates for generating new business via their own advertising efforts word of mouth, posts on social media and more. While it is a challenge for companies to continually grow, and publicly traded companies are under even more pressure to do so, mathematically, growth becomes harder if you are losing customers from your key customer base.CRACKER BARREL'S NEW TEXT-ONLY LOGO IS 'HOW YOU DESTROY A BRAND,' CRITICS CLAIMIf you make your customers believe you do not care about them and their relationship with your brand and company, it is going to be very difficult for you to be successful in your business. This is the stark reality many businesses who have sought out new customers have faced lately. Its fine to reach new customers, but you must do it carefully and in a way that doesnt simultaneously burn goodwill with your existing customers.New customers should never be treated better or given more weight than existing, loyal customers. In my own social media post resharing a video of a Cracker Barrel dining room remodel, I received thousands of interactions. Among the majority comments from long-time customers expressing their displeasure at the changes, one other comment stood out. The poster said, "I dont eat there but it looks nice to me."And that is the crux of the issue. The poster is not a customer, and based on the comment, is not likely to become a customer. So, seeking her approval is not a revenue-enhancing win for the company. Maybe it gets some ROE (return on ego) points for the marketing team, but it doesnt get ROI (return on investment) for shareholders. CRACKER BARREL UNVEILS NEW SIMPLIFIED LOGO: 'OUR STORY HASNT CHANGED'For Cracker Barrel, losing character in a time when corporatization is making everything around us bland and soulless feels like something enjoyable from the past is being killed off. And for a brand which has been based on nostalgiafrom their dcor to their nostalgic candy and wares in their adjacent store it doesnt make a lot of sense. CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONI am a long-time Cracker Barrel patron. I stop in whenever I am on the road. And as a long-time customer, as well as business advisor and executive, I can tell you that Cracker Barrels logo was not their issue. My last stop in was in June on a road trip. I noted that I hadnt been there in a while prior, because I hadnt been on the road much. And in a moment where convenience is a part of the equation and DoorDash has taken hold of younger generations, it is harder to get touchpoints with a brand, even if you want them. This is a much bigger strategic endeavor that Cracker Barrel needs to think through.CRACKER BARREL EXECUTIVE INSISTS RESTAURANT REMODELS ARE 'WHAT THE GUESTS ASKED FOR'My other issue was the menu. They had taken off my favorite item and their hashbrown casserole tasted off the food overall wasnt as fresh as I had experienced in the past. In my social media post, there were several comments about a decline in food quality over recent years. Making the menu and food quality rock-solid is critical for a restaurant, particularly when consumers are trying to stretch their dollars.Cracker Barrel isnt the first and certainly wont be the last company to fall into the trap of thinking that all change is good. Companies should be bringing their customer voices to the table, which can be accomplished with a CCO whose job it is to know the customers well and advocate for them within the company or other loyalty specialist advising. Loyalty is hard to build and easy to lose. Companies always want to attract new customers, but that isnt effective if relationships with existing customers arent nurtured at the same time.CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM CAROL ROTH

DC statehood debate intensifies as Trump flexes authority over local police
President Donald Trumps grip on Washington D.C.s police force continued into a second week, spurring Democrats to reignite demands for the district to become a state.Trump last week invoked a provision of the Home Rule Act, the law that gives the nation's capital some autonomy from Congress, to effectively take over the Metropolitan Police Department in an effort to crack down on crime.Since then, numerous federal law enforcement agencies and the National Guard, aided by reserves from states across the country, have patrolled the streets of D.C., and the White House has touted rapid decreases in crime and dozens of arrests.CAPITOL HILL PREPARES FOR HIGH-STAKES BATTLE OVER TRUMP CRIME PACKAGE, DC POLICE AUTHORITYBecause its not a state, Washington has no voting representation in Congress and, despite having a mayor and city council, is overseen by Congress. But some lawmakers see the move as another attempt by the president to overextend his powers, and argue that its another reason that D.C. should be a state a notion that Trump last week rebuked as "ridiculous.""If D.C. was a state, the president could not do what he is doing outside of the federal enclave," Sen. Paul Strauss, the districts shadow senator, told Fox News Digital.Strauss, D-D.C., has long pushed for statehood in his role as shadow senator, Washington D.C.s elected non-voting member of the Senate. He said the whole idea behind statehood is to give D.C. residents agency and self-determination, something he believed the crackdown was ignoring."It would be one thing if we actually had a crime emergency here, but we don't," Strauss said. "Violent crime in particular is down to 30-year lows. That's not what's happening here. He is using these national guardsmen and women as a stunt, and that's wrong."TRUMP AUTHORIZED TO CONTROL DC POLICE INDEFINITELY UNDER HOUSE GOP PROPOSALHis colleague in the House, D.C. non-voting Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, also a Democrat, agreed."The president's abuses are evidence of the urgent need for D.C. statehood so that more than 700,000 D.C. residents can finally have the full rights and privileges afforded to other Americans, including control of their own local resources and policies," she said in a statement to Fox News Digital.White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers countered that violent crime in the district has "been spiraling out of control and the Democrats are lying to the American people when they pretend there is no crime in our nations capital.""If they needed some anecdotal evidence, they could ask their own Democrat colleague about the time he was carjacked outside of his D.C. apartment by three armed criminals," she told Fox News Digital. "The Democrats case of Trump Derangement Syndrome is so severe, they wont even support President Trumps commonsense policies to remove dangerous criminals from the streets of our nations capital."Strauss and Norton were joined by lawmakers from neighboring Virginia and Maryland, the states that Washington, D.C., was carved out of over two centuries ago, who argued that Trumps move to federalize the local police shined "a light on the urgent need for D.C. statehood."Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., told Fox News Digital that the police takeover was "a prime example of why D.C. deserves the same rights as states."Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., charged that "Republicans in Congress have been all too willing to play political games with the districts funding for public safety and critical services while backing an authoritarian overreach by a lawless president."Van Hollen announced plans earlier this month to reintroduce a bill alongside Norton to grant statehood to D.C.Van Hollen, Norton and Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., introduced a joint resolution in the House to halt Trumps takeover of the D.C. police, too.REPUBLICANS READY TO SUPPORT TRUMP'S MOVE TO SKIRT CONGRESS IN DC CRIME CRACKDOWNRaskin told Fox News Digital in a statement that the districts residents are "the only people who live in a capital city on earth who are disenfranchised in their national legislature.""The people of Washington have petitioned for statehood and should be admitted as a state rather than treated as a MAGA-colonized populace," he said. But the reality of actually turning D.C. into a state, at least while Republicans have a trifecta in Washington, is slim at best."I think there's probably not a pathway to get this done while Republicans control all three branches of the government," Strauss said. "Because they have shown that they're more interested in the partisan impact of controlling the legislative branch and not really interested in the principle of self-determination for Washington, D.C., residents."

Trump praises Noem for making border wall untouchable with new upgrade
President Donald Trump praised DHS Secretary Kristi Noem for moving to paint the entire southern border wall black, saying it will increase the walls effectiveness, making it "untouchable" for would-be illegal immigrants.Speaking to the press in the Oval Office on Friday, Trump said, "I didn't know she was listening" when he suggested the wall should be black."So, I turn on last night and I see Kristi is painting the wall and it looked beautiful, by the way, when that paint went on, it's beautiful," he said, adding, "It's hot, if it's white, its not hot. If it's black, it's going to be very hard to climb that sucker."The president also touted the walls quality, saying, "I built the same wall that the Border Patrol asked me to build," consisting of high-grade steel, reinforced with thick rebar and 9,000-pound concrete.RUBIO PAUSES WORKER VISAS FOR TRUCK DRIVERS AFTER DEADLY FLORIDA CRASH INVOLVING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT KILLS 3Noem announced on Tuesday that the entire southern border wall will be painted black as part of the Trump administrations efforts to increase the effectiveness of the wall as a deterrent.Speaking in front of a portion of the southern border wall in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, Noem explained that the wall would be painted entirely black for the dual purposes of making it heat up more and thus harder to climb, as well as preserving the metal from rust. Noem credited the "one big, beautiful bill" that was passed by Congress in July for allocating "an incredible amount of resources" that she said is "going to allow us to continue construction" of the wall, which she said is advancing at a pace of about half a mile of new wall per day.The secretary explained that the new paintwork comes "specifically at the request of the president, who understands that in the hot temperatures down here, when something is painted black, it gets even warmer, and it will make it even harder for people to climb."DHS SECRETARY REVEALS WHY BORDER WALL IS BEING PAINTED BLACK"So, we are going to be painting the entire southern border wall black to make sure that we encourage individuals to not come into our country illegally, to not break our federal laws, but that they will abide and come to our country the right way so that they can stay and have the opportunity to become United States citizens and pursue the American dream," said Noem.Speaking in the White House on Friday, Trump recalled the moment he told Noem, "We got to get a coat of paint on it.""And I didn't know she was listening, but I said, we got to get a coat of paint, and it should be black because black makes the steel very hot. It's untouchable," he explained. "You could fry an egg on it, and if you got a good, black, flat paint, it would look beautiful, and it will preserve it from rust. And that was it, and I gave it to her along with 30 other things."SANCTUARY CITIES DEFY BONDIS DEADLINE TO COOPERATE: NO INTENTION OF CHANGINGTurning to Noem, who was in the room beside him, Trump asked, "Is that going to be a two-coat job or one coat?" to which the secretary answered, "Just one coat."The president quipped back, "The two-coat [job] will take place in three years from now, we'll do the second.""But it looks beautiful," he continued. "But thank you very much. I didn't know you were listening. Like, we talked about seven different subjects. And all of a sudden, I see you're out there painting with a lot of painters and everything else, but it was a beautiful thing to see."

Former Real Housewife says Bravo canceled her for being conservative
"I didn't leave the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party left me," Annemarie Wiley told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview.Wiley, who gained recognition as a cast member on season 13 of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," spoke about her conservative awakening and her belief that she was not invited back to the show because she appeared to hold conservative views. In addition to her TV tenure, Wiley is the wife of former NFL player Marcellus Wiley, a mother of four, a nurse anesthetist, and a former collegiate athlete. And since her exit from the show, Wiley has become a political commentator. She began voicing her political opinions about one issue in particular: Girls' sports.FORMER BRAVO STAR SAYS TRUMP VOTERS NEED TO BE BANNED FROM MEXICAN RESTAURANTS IN PROFANE RANTIn 2023, Marcellus Wiley posted a video voicing his opinions on protecting girls sports as a father of girls."I am very clear on this, you could be a transgender, you can be the homie, but I'll be damned if a male at birth turns into a female and tries to compete against my daughter. She ain't out there. We out. Don't make this a human rights issue, this is a biological issue, simple as that." Her husband's video resurfaced and Wiley said the surrounding narrative went from glowing to negative."Annemarie Wiley, wife of Marcellus Wiley and you know, she's a nurse anesthetist, she is a former athlete, she's a mother, she got this really big, full, exciting life. She's so fun, she's so funny, she's going to be a perfect addition to the cast," she said. But, she explained, "Immediately the narrative around me completely changed. So it went from all of these glowing reviews to, 'Oh, she's transphobic, and she's a bigot.'"Wiley agreed with her husband and came out in support of his statements defending girls' sports."I didn't know at the time that that was a political issue. I just felt like it was truth. It was common sense. It was biology, but I learned very quickly that that is a very big political topic. It literally just came down to the women's sports issue, because, again, that is just truth and common sense and I can't defy common sense and truth."Following the controversy, Wiley was not invited back for another season of RHOBH. She believes that decision was directly tied to her perceived political leanings."I was given a terrible edit by Bravo and I found out after the season was finished when they didn't invite me back that that was the reason that I was given that edit apparently, is because I was a conservative."However, Wiley said she was apolitical and actually fairly liberal previously."I grew up in Canada. I'd been a Democrat my entire life. And then all of a sudden, I, you know, was forced to talk about this," she said. "I was very apolitical. I was not at all into the political space and so that experience made me look at what the two parties stood for."That experience sparked a political awakening."I was like, well, I stand for truth, common sense, my family, and, you know, protection as a society. And I'm like, okay, well I guess that makes me conservative, so here we go."She added that her values remain consistent.Wiley said her views haven't changed much."The love of my family, the love of God, my faith, wanting safety for our country wanting safe borders. You know, that's another thing because I'm from Canada. I am an immigrant. I immigrated here the legal way, so that's something that I am very passionate about as well, but I wouldn't say there's anything that I changed my mind on. I always say that I didn't leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me."FORMER STAR GYMNAST REACTS TO TEAM USA FOLLOWING TRUMP'S EXECUTIVE ORDER TO PROTECT WOMEN'S SPORTSIn January, Wiley fully embraced being a conservative and posted a video in support of Trump backing girls' sports that went viral."And then shortly after that," Wiley said, "I was invited to the White House for Black History Month. It was an incredible experience."Fox News Digital reached out to Bravo multiple times for comment.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP

Taiwan's energy dependence is 'Achilles heel' amid immense threat by China
Voters in Taiwan are headed to the polls on Saturday to decide whether Taipei should reignite its nuclear power capabilities as the island faces immense energy vulnerabilities amid growing concern over threats posed by China. In May, Taiwan shut the Maanshan Nuclear Power Plant its last remaining nuclear plant after the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) pledged in 2016 to phase outnuclear powerby 2025 over concerns relating to nuclear fallout following the 2011 Fukushima accident in Japan.Security experts have since been sounding the alarm that the move further exposes Taiwans vulnerabilities to China as the island is highly dependent on energy imports, relying heavily on nations like the U.S., Australia, Saudi Arabia and Qatar for both Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and crude oil imports."Taiwan's energy dependence is an Achilles heel," Craig Singleton, China Program senior director and senior fellow with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD), said during a media call following a delegations visit to the island earlier this month.CHINA EYES TRUMP-PUTIN MEETING, GAUGES WESTS RESOLVE ON UKRAINE"Beijing can exploit this issue without firing a single shot," he added, noting the ease at which China can cut off trade to the island. "China can leverage its maritime dominance, its legal warfare and cyber tools to choke supply and test Taiwan's political resilience."Over the last decade, Taiwan has imported up to 97% of its energy needs, largely through fossil fuel options, which currently make up a little over 90% of its energy usage, while renewables reportedly make up another 7%, according to FDD experts.Though prior to its decision to cut ties with the alternative energy option, nuclear power was a strong supply source and provided nearly 12% of the islands needs in 2011.By 2021, that supply had dropped to roughly 9.5% and by the following year it had dipped to just over 4% before completely being eliminated this year.Nuclear power for some nations, especially in Europe, has become a solution as they look to drop dependence on carbon-emitting fuels amid escalating concern over climate change.TRUMP'S REPORTED SNUB OF TAIWAN PRESIDENT SPURS CONCERNS OVER DEFERENCE TO CHINABut some nations, like Germany, have taken a strong anti-nuclear approach over concerns relating to nuclear fallout as seen following the devastating consequences of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster, which not only affected those in the immediate vicinity of Ukraine, but had resounding effects across Europe.Berlin in 2023 also phased out nuclear power entirely but Taiwan is facing some glaring security challenges that Germany is not. Some opponents of nuclear power have also pointed out that wartime scenarios in recent years have shown the security risks surrounding active nuclear power plants as seen during Russias invasion of Ukraine and its fight over the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. But experts also argue that Taiwan would likely use up its stores of oil in a matter of weeks to days if China implemented a blockade, according to a report by DW.Therefore, nuclear power would give Taipei an additional energy storage solution.JAPAN CALLS AXIS OF CHINA, RUSSIA, NORTH KOREA THE 'GRAVEST THREAT' TO GLOBAL ORDER SINCE WWII"Nuclear power does, in my view, change that calculus, providing a lot of continuity under coercion, and I think it really complicates Beijing's playbook," Singleton argued. Ultimately, he said that Taiwan needs to better diversify its energy needs in order to better protect against a potential Chinese blockade."The U.S. needs to help Taiwan diversify fast, cut exposure to vulnerable suppliers like Qatar, and probably prepare for a contest of endurance because I think that's exactly how China is thinking about this issue," he added, noting Qatars relationship with China and its large number of LNG exports to Bejing.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPSingleton pointed out that Ukraine has proven a helpful case study, not just when it comes to the vulnerabilities of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, but how an invading nation can target the vulnerabilities in every aspect of the energy sector."Ukraine shows that energy is one of the fastest ways to undermine a country's will. And obviously Russia targeted power to free cities and to fracture cohesion and to force concessions," Singleton explained. "I think Beijing is absolutely studying that playbook."

Rhode Island prosecutor in viral arrest video placed on unpaid leave, job future unclear
The Rhode Island assistant attorney general, whose arrest went viral earlier this week after she seemingly tried to use her position to evade arrest, telling officers they'd "regret" putting her behind bars, will be placed on unpaid leave.Special Assistant Attorney General Devon Flanagan, who was arrested for trespassing, was placed on paid leave directly after the incident while the Rhode Island Attorney General's office reviewed the matter. But, starting Monday, Flanagan will go on unpaid leave, the office told Fox News Digital. It is unclear how long Flanagan will remain on unpaid leave until a final determination is made on her employment. The Attorney General's office did not respond to additional questions about its ongoing review of the matter, or when it might make a final decision.FORMER TOP ADAMS ADVISOR, DONORS CHARGED IN BRIBERY CASE; CUOMO MOCKS WITH POTATO CHIP STUNTState payroll records, according to the Boston Globe, show that Flanagan was raking in approximately $113,000 a year in her position as a Special Assistant Attorney General."I'm an AG! I'm an AG!" Flanagan could be heard saying to police as they tried to detain her for failing to comply with their demands. "You're going to regret this. You're going to regret it. I'm an A-" Flanagan said as she was escorted to the back of a police car and the door was shut."Good for you, I don't give a s---," one of the arresting officers can be heard saying back at one point.CONTROVERSIAL NEW ORLEANS MAYOR INDICTED FOR ALLEGED ILLICIT RELATIONSHIP WITH TAXPAYER-FUNDED BODYGUARDIn a subsequent radio interview following Flanagan's arrest, Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha called the incident "inexcusable behavior" that will likely result in "strong, strong sanction[s]." However, he did note that this isn't the first time he's dealt with a case like this involving his staff."I've got 110 lawyers, she embarrassed all of them. I haven't had many issues like this while I've been attorney general. I've had a few, and I let one guy go for driving drunk had to bring him back well I didn't have to, but did bring him back after I fired him about a year later because, again, I needed somebody to go into a courtroom and try ugly, hard murder cases," Neronha told WPRO Radio."It's just really hard to find and keep capable lawyers and so I just have to think really carefully about this one. But no question there will be a strong, strong sanction here," the attorney general continued.Neronha added that he believed the incident was alcohol-related, and noted that doesn't necessarily excuse the behavior. He also said Flanagan had an "unblemished" record working under him, is thought highly of by the state bar association and is taking steps to make amends with the New Port Police Department, including issuing an apology. The attorney general was asked about certain details of the incident, including whether Flanagan was right in telling the officer it was the law that he must turn off his body camera upon request by a citizen."Im not sure what she was thinking. Clearly, she was not thinking straight," said Neronha, who added that Flanagan was incorrect in her assertion that police officers must shut off their bodycam upon request."Shes humiliated herself," Neronha added. "Regardless of what happens vis a vis her employment with us, shes going to have a long time coming back from this. Its just really unfortunate."
