The lawsuit claims the athlete took a varsity spot from a female runner and that when the girls wore "Save Girls Sports" T-shirts in protest, school administrators compared them to swastikas.The father of a girl who lost her varsity spot to the trans athlete previously told Fox News Digital that his daughter and other girls at the school were told "transgenders have more rights than cisgender[s]" by school administrators when they protested the athlete's participation.Last fall, Stone Ridge Christian High School's girls' volleyball team was scheduled to face San Francisco Waldorf in the Northern California Division 6 tournament, but they forfeited in an announcement just before the match over the presence of a trans athlete on the team.Meanwhile, a transgender volleyball player was booed and harassed during last October's match between Notre Dame Belmont in Belmont, California, and Half Moon Bay High School, according to ABC 7. Half Moon Bay rostered the transgender athlete.A bipartisan survey by the Public Policy Institute of California found the majority of California residents oppose biological male trans athletes competing in women's sports. That figure included more than 70% of the state's school parents."Most Californians support requiring transgender athletes to compete on teams matching the sex they were assigned at birth," the poll stated."Solid majorities of adults (65%) and likely voters (64%) support requiring that transgender athletes compete on teams that match the sex they were assigned at birth, not the gender they identify with. A California resident has tested positive for the plague after likely being bitten by an infected flea on a Lake Tahoe camping trip, health officials confirmed.The El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency said Tuesday the individual is recovering at home under medical supervision.The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) notified local officials of the case, prompting an investigation."Its believed that the person may have been bitten by an infected flea while camping in the South Lake Tahoe area. Health officials are investigating the situation," the county said in a news release.ARIZONA RESIDENT DIES OF PNEUMONIC PLAGUE, THE FIRST DEADLY CASE IN AREA IN NEARLY 20 YEARSPlague bacteria are most commonly spread by fleas that have fed on infected squirrels, chipmunks, or other wild rodents.From 2021 through 2024, El Dorado County identified 41 rodents showing evidence of plague exposure. In 2025 so far, four more plague-positive rodents have been found in the Tahoe Basin.Human plague infections are extremely rare in the U.S., averaging about seven cases per year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Most occur in the western states, particularly northern New Mexico and Arizona.DOCTORS REVEAL KEY SIGNS OF LYME DISEASE AS TICK SEASON INTENSIFIES ACROSS USSymptoms often begin with the bubonic form of the plague, which can cause health issues including fever, headache, chills, weakness, and swollen lymph nodes. Without treatment, it can progress to septicemic plague, which can cause stomach pain and bleeding into the skin."Plague is naturally present in many parts of California, including higher-elevation areas of El Dorado County," said Kyle Fliflet, the countys acting public health director."Its important that individuals take precautions for themselves and their pets when outdoors, especially while walking, hiking, or camping in areas where wild rodents are present."RARE TICK-BORNE VIRUS CAUSING NEUROLOGICAL SYMPTOMS DIAGNOSED IN NORTHEASTERN STATEThe most recent human case in El Dorado County before this one was reported in 2020, also thought to have come from the South Lake Tahoe area.In 2015, two people contracted the plague after exposure to infected rodents or fleas in Yosemite National Park. Both recovered after treatment. Those were the first human cases in California since 2006, officials said.Health authorities continue to investigate the latest case in Lake Tahoe."The person is fine and under medical care and the investigation is underway," El Dorado Deputy Chief Administrator, Carla Hass, told Fox News Digital.

A Harvard physicist who sounded the alarm earlier this month about a rare interstellar object passing through our solar system and suggested it might be more than a comet now says it could even be a nuclear-powered spaceship.The object, dubbed 3I/ATLAS, was first detected in early July by an Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) telescope in Chile. It marks only the third time an interstellar object has been observed entering our solar system, according to NASA.While NASA classified the object as a comet, Dr. Avi Loeb pointed out that an image showed an unexpected glow in front of the object rather than trailing behind it something he called "quite surprising."In a blog post this week, Loeb wrote that the objects brightness profile cannot be explained by sunlight reflection or standard cometary outgassing.METEORITE FRAGMENT THAT SLAMMED THROUGH HOMEOWNER'S ROOF IS BILLIONS OF YEARS OLD, PREDATES EARTH: PROFESSORInstead, he suggested, 3I/ATLAS might be generating its own light possibly from nuclear energy."Alternatively, 3I/ATLAS could be a spacecraft powered by nuclear energy, and the dust emitted from its frontal surface might be from dirt that accumulated on its surface during its interstellar travel," Loeb wrote. "This cannot be ruled out, but requires better evidence to be viable."Loeb dismissed other natural power sources. A primordial black hole, he said, would generate only about 20 nanowatts far too weak. Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons vowed to "flood" Boston with agents after Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu doubled down on her pledge to uphold the city's sanctuary policies and resist the Trump administrations crackdown on illegal immigration.Speaking on the local radio program "The Howie Carr Show," Lyons responded to Wu by saying, "Now youre going to see more ICE agents come to Boston to make sure that we take these public safety threats out that she wants to let go back into the communities."He pointed to the Trump administrations "Operation Patriot," which surged federal agents in the Boston area in March and yielded over a thousand arrests."We are going to keep doing it in Boston," he said. "Were going to continue to do our mission. Were going to keep making Boston safe as shes failing to do with these sanctuary city policies."LARGEST EVER ICE OPERATION RESULTS IN NEARLY 1,500 ILLEGALS ARRESTED IN BLUE STATEPressed on whether ICE will surge agents to the Boston area, similar to how agents are currently in Washington, D.C., Lyons responded, "100 percent you will see a larger ICE presence.""Were definitely going to, as youve heard the saying, flood the zone, especially in sanctuary jurisdictions," he went on. "And obviously Boston and Massachusetts decided that they wanted to stay sanctuaries and sanctuary does not mean safer streets it means more criminal aliens out and about in neighborhoods."Lyons pointed out that during Operation Patriot, ICE pursued "targeted enforcement operations" of criminal aliens released by the city of Boston and Massachusetts.Operation Patriot resulted in the arrest of nearly 1,500 illegal immigrants, including murderers, rapists, drug traffickers and child sex predators.Sources at ICE told Fox News that 790 of those arrested had criminal convictions or charges, and 277 had final removal or deportation orders. A day after a local news outlet exposed an Eric Adams aide for handing a reporter a wad of cash stuffed inside a bag of potato chips, a handful of folks from Adams' inner circle, including one of his former top advisers, have been indicted in their own alleged bribery scandal.The Manhattan District Attorney's Office announced four new indictments Thursday, alleging a pay-to-play scheme and other charges against multiple Adams' associates, including one of his former chief advisers and her son, local business owners, and two of Adams' reported political donors.Meanwhile, in light of the news, Adams' opponent in the upcoming race for New York City mayor, Andrew Cuomo, took a jab at Adams' Thursday when he handed out bags of chips to reporters at a press conference. "Sometimes a bag of chips is just a bag of chips," Cuomo told those in attendance.ADAMS, CUOMO TRADE JABS IN INTERVIEWS AS DEMS-TURNED-INDEPENDENTS COURT ANTI-MAMDANI VOTE"Frankly it is embarrassing for the City of New York," Cuomo, who himself is no stranger to scandals, added Thursday.The fresh corruption-related allegations follow an incident Wednesday, when, according to local New York City paper The City, one of Adams' aides, who has since been suspended, allegedly attempted to give money to one of their reporters hidden inside a bag of potato chips. The now-suspended Adams adviser, Winnie Greco, later called the move a "mistake," according to The City. Meanwhile, the indictments levied Thursday alleged a former chief adviser to Adams, Ingrid Lewis-Martin, who resigned in 2024 amid other accusations related to a different pay-to-play scheme, received $75,000 in bribes between March 2022 and November 2024.Among the bribes was a $50,000 cash payment "diverted from a City contract and other benefits" that was directed to her son's bank account, according to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. "While Ingrid Lewis-Martin no longer works for this administration, she has been a friend and colleague of the mayor for over 40 years, and he knows her as a devoted public servant; she has declared her innocence, and his prayers are with her and her family," Shapiro added. "Mayor Adams also recognizes that Jesse Hamilton has pleaded not guilty, and like anyone accused, he is entitled to the presumption of innocence. Gavin Newsom and officials with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have been in a heated war of words with the Trump administration over Singh.This week, Newsom's press office said on X that Singh obtained a work permit during President Donald Trump's first term.Tricia McLaughlin, the DHS assistant secretary for public affairs, responded, saying Singh was denied in September 2020, under Trump, but was granted one in June 2021, under the Biden administration.Singh has been extradited to Florida from California to face three counts of vehicular homicide.
