WWW.FOXNEWS.COMKyle Chrisley sues Tennessee county and police for $1.7M, claims false arrest and excessive forceKyle Chrisley and his wife, Ashleigh, are suing Rutherford County and two sheriff deputies for $1.7 million over his aggravated assault arrest in September 2024.In court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, attorneys for the Chrisleys claim the couple were "terrorized in their own home" the afternoon of Sept. 9, 2024, and then "punished for calling for help."According to the lawsuit, a "disgruntled mechanic, angry over a payment dispute, showed up uninvited, kicked at their doors, threatened violence, and used his car as a weapon by ramming their SUV and nearly running Kyle over in front of multiple neighbors."KYLE CHRISLEY, FORMER 'CHRISLEY KNOWS BEST' STAR, ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT IN TENNESSEEKyle and the mechanic - who had done work on the Chrisleys' car and was allegedly paid in full - got into a physical altercation outside their home in Tennessee over a monetary dispute. The "Chrisley Knows Best" star allegedly "shoved back in self-defense and the two men pushed each other out of the garage and down the driveway," the lawsuit states.Ashleigh, who was "fearing for her familys safety," called the police after the mechanic allegedly "intentionally reversed into [her] parked SUV, smashing and damaging her vehicle" and "performed two 360-degree spins while flinging topsoil into the air, and sped away toward the neighborhood exit."The mechanic allegedly returned to the neighborhood shortly thereafter and continued to terrorize the Chrisleys, with neighbors looking on.According to a neighbor's security camera footage, the mechanic yelled, "Kyle, come get in front of my car so I can run your b---- ass over."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? "Instead, they arrested Kyle Chrisley, and ignored clear evidence that he was the victim, not the aggressor. Deputies disregarded eyewitnesses, overlooked available video footage, and ignored Tennessees self-defense law."When Kyle's wife pulled out her phone to begin recording the authorities' behavior, she was allegedly "threatened with arrest and ordered tostop."Authorities allegedly "threw Chrisley to the ground, placed knees on his back, and handcuffed him despite the fact that Chrisley used no force against theofficers and did not otherwise resist," the lawsuit states.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERAccording to the Chrisleys' filing, they decided to "bring this lawsuit because no family should face criminal charges or threats of arrest for defending themselves at home or for exercising their constitutional rights. This is a case about false arrest, excessive force, and retaliation for trying to hold police officers accountable.""Our hopes for this lawsuit are accountability and change because no family should have to endure what the Chrisley family endured in this terrifying scenario," Kyles lawyer, Wesley Clark of Brazil Clark, PLLC, said in a statement to Fox News Digital.A representative for the Rutherford County's Sheriff's office told Fox News Digital they will not be commenting on the lawsuit.0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 9 Views 0 Προεπισκόπηση

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMHouse Democrat clashes with activists over Israel 'genocide' as pro-Palestinian protests derail town hallA moderate House Democrats town hall devolved into chaos minutes after it began on Tuesday night, with pro-Palestinian activists clashing with both the congressman and fellow attendees in what became a near-constant torrent of interruptions and protests.Rep. Wesley Bell, D-Mo., who defeated far-left "Squad" member Cori Bush in the Democratic primary last year, repeatedly pleaded with protesters to allow him to speak while defending his position on Israel and Hamas."Stop talking. This is not your town hall. You can leave," Bell told protesters roughly 20 minutes after he began speaking. He said soon after, "While we're sitting here being divided and fighting one another, we've got other folks out there who are taking our democracy from us."At another point, his assertions that Hamas' initial attack on Israel "was not just a terror attack, October 7 was an invasion" was met with boos and jeers from the crowd.FAR-LEFT FIREBRAND SAYS SHE 'NEVER HAD A CONCERN' ABOUT BIDEN'S MENTAL STATE AS HOUSE PROBE HEATS UPEven calls to "surge aid" to Gaza were drowned out by demonstrators, prompting Bell to respond, "You disagree with that?"Despite repeated pleas for calm from both Bell and his moderator, protesters continued to call him a "war criminal" and accuse him of supporting genocide. The event grew more heated as the hour went on, reaching a fever pitch toward the end when Bell disputed a questioner labeling Israels invasion of Gaza a "genocide.""You dont get to set the genocide definition," an activist yelled.Bell responded, "No, I dont and heres the thing, people can disagree, thats what makes our country great.""When it comes to the word genocide, I kind of disagree with you... because Israel was attacked by an openly genocidal terrorist group," he said while protesters attempted to drown him out."Hamas said openly that they want to destroy Israel... and so youre accusing somebody of genocide, youre standing with an organization that says they want to commit genocide. You dont see that?"He continued over boos, "We need to see a surge in humanitarian aid into Gaza, we need to see an end to the war. We need to see every single hostage returned, and we need to see a viable future for Gaza without Hamas."And while pro-Palestinian protesters took up a majority of the attention, there did appear to be a significant number of attendees who were supportive of Bell, particularly when he attempted to bring the conversation back to local issues."The number one killer of kids in St. Louis between [ages] 1 and 17 is gun violence, and theres people who want to talk about that too," he said, earning applause.LONGTIME BIDEN AIDE SAYS HE STOOD TO EARN UP TO $8M HAD PRESIDENT WON RE-ELECTIONAt one point, a woman attempted to confront the demonstrators directly."Shut up with your White privilege," the woman could be heard yelling. "Youve never been hungry, youve never had a child be hungry, and yet you want to stand here and diminish the work he's doing?"Its not clear how or if the activists responded. The town halls moderator tried to deescalate the situation early on, calling security to escort an unruly demonstrator out minutes after it began."Let's do this the Democratic way, the democracy way. You cant hear anyone yelling. I hear you. As a mixed-race person, I hear you," she told activists. "We cant get through this if you are yelling and barking and acting like you want to get physical."At the end of the night, however, Bell released a statement thanking all attendees for coming."I want to thank everyone that came out to our town hall this evening yes the conversations were passionate at times, but Democracy is messy and we have to passionately defend it," Bell wrote on X. "At the end of the day we're going to continue to fight for the ST. LOUIS region and for our country."Fox News Digital reached out to Bells office for further comment.0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 16 Views 0 Προεπισκόπηση

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMAmid 'RushTok' craze, sorority season has parents spending big and stressing hardFor some mothers, the sorority rush isn't just their daughter's rite of passage it's theirs too. With "rush week" underway on campuses across the country and documented amid the viral "RushTok" trend, the spotlight is on not only potential new members but also their moms. Some of them go to great lengths to secure a coveted bid for their daughters in ways even fellow parents say can turn an already punishing process into a high-stakes family drama."For every girl going through rush, there's a mom behind her [who] wants it as bad as she does," rush coach Brandis Bradley said in the trailer for the new Lifetime series, "A Sorority Mom's Guide to Rush!"WITH RUSH WEEK BACK IN THE SPOTLIGHT, HERE IS THE REAL PRICE TAG OF JOINING A SORORITY"I might want it more," one mom admitted in the same trailer.Another said she was living "vicariously" through her daughter's experience. And yet another said that a rush budget, to her, is "nonexistent."Some families spend as much as $10,000 preparing their daughters from luxury accessories and designer wardrobes to stylists and coaches charging as much as $5,000 to guide girls through the interview process, according to reports. That's all before the annual dues and housing fees, which can top $15,000 if the young women are accepted into a chapter.COLLEGE SORORITY 'COLD ROOMS' GET THE HOT SPOTLIGHT IN VIRAL SOCIAL MEDIA TREND"When the personal and emotional investment of a parent in their child's activities becomes extreme, it's usually motivated by one of two simple explanations," said Seth Meyers, a Los Angeles-based clinical psychologist and host of the YouTube channel "Dr. Seth: Psychologist.""The parents either didn't have those opportunities themselves and try to overcompensate for that loss by making sure their child has those opportunities, or they had a particular experience and strongly believe their child having the same experience is important for both the child's future and for the closeness of the mother-daughter bond," Meyers told Fox News Digital. But too much involvement can backfire.Daughters may feel added anxiety about failing, disappointing their mothers or admitting disinterest in something their parents want so much, Meyers warned."It can be easy to forget how challenging the college years are," he added. "The experience of rushing while exciting temporarily adds to their stress and also yields serious upset if the process doesn't go the way they hoped."SORORITY TIES RUN DEEP FOR MOLLY SIMS, CARRIE UNDERWOOD AND OTHER SOUTHERN STARS AS RUSH SEASON BEGINSWhile fraternity recruitment is often described as a casual "open invite," the sorority rush can be "downright cruel," Daniel Karon, an Ohio-based attorney and fraternity chapter advisor, told Fox News Digital."It can involve dances, skits, dressing a certain way, submitting resumes, recommendation letters or portfolios, touring each house at least once and suffering through a mutual selection process," said Karon, who is a fraternity alum himself and parent of kids who were part of Greek life."This is how sorority rush worked in my wife's day and it's how it still works today," he added."It's a punishing, unnecessary and twisted process that does nothing to facilitate and foster the mental health that's so essential to freshmen women."While parents attempt to tip the scales, others argue the best approach is to step back.Marva Bailer, a University of Maryland Kappa Delta alum and mother of a sorority graduate, said she paid her own sorority fees while working her way through college."My attitude has always been, 'Figure things out yourself, because I'm not going to be there next to you in the interview or the office,'" Bailer told Fox News Digital.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR LIFESTYLE NEWSLETTER"But there are many moms who still feel they need to pick up all the school supplies, lost lunches and shoes that their kids forgot."Bailer, an Atlanta-based author, said the sorority rush can feel like an outlet for parents grappling with identity as children leave home."Rush feels like an opportunity to still influence their daughter's experience," she said."But [children] have to experience failure, disappointment and make decisions on their own," she added."Parents have to let go. You can't put a Band-Aid on everything."She emphasized that sorority life offers far more than themed parties and photo ops.Her daughter's chapter, Sigma Kappa at the University of Georgia, for example, helped raise $1 million for the Children's Miracle Network while she was there. For more Lifestyle articles, visit foxnews.com/lifestyle"Rush looks like a party, but it's really about skills planning, community bonding and networking," Bailer said.0 Σχόλια 0 Μοιράστηκε 16 Views 0 Προεπισκόπηση
