Former MLB star David Justice attempted to move on from the reignited war of words between himself and his ex-wife Halle Berry on Friday night while on the red carpet for an event.Justice and his current wife Rebecca Villalobos appeared at the Harold and Carole Pump Foundation 25th Anniversary Celebrity Dinner in Los Angeles. He was asked about the initial remarks he made about wanting Berry to be "motherly" when the two first got married.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"Heres what I got to say this is my wife for 25 years. Take a look at my wife. She can cook, she know how to clean, she know how to raise a great family," Justice told Access Hollywood when asked if he wanted to clear anything up. "We got three beautiful children and one beautiful grandbaby."So, I aint got nothing else to say about nobody elses lady other than my lady. Period."Justice recalled his relationship with Berry in an interview on the "All the Smoke" podcast. The two married in 1993 and were officially divorced in 1997. The World Series champion remarked on what led to his split with the actress."Because I was young and I had only, honestly, been in one relationship before her, my knowledge and my understanding, my wisdom around relationships just wasnt vast," he said."So, Im looking at my mom and Im a Midwest guy. So, in my mind, Im thinking a wife at that time should cook, clean. Then Im thinking, OK, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with?"RED SOX SIGN NATHANIEL LOWE AFTER BEING CUT BY NATIONALSIn the mid to late 1990s, Berry had a contract with Revlon and had been in movies like "Boomerang," "Jungle Fever" and "The Last Boy Scout.""At that time, as a young guy, she dont cook, dont clean, dont really seem like motherly, and then we start having issues," Justice added. "Ill say this, we never had any issues about any women, other men."Berry responded subtly in a post on Instagram."Phew! cooking, cleaning and mothering," she wrote in the caption of a photo with her current husband Van Hunt.Justice earned his first All-Star nod in 1993, following their marriage. He was an All-Star again in 1994 before the players went on strike. Liberal media split: Who gets what in the messy NBC-MSNBC divorce?
The decades-long marriage between NBC and MSNBC is steadily headed towards a corporate divorce as parent company Comcast continues its NBCUniversal split, separating the famed Peacock brand from the majority of its cable assets.Last year, Comcast announced it was spinning off its cable networks into a separate company, now named Versant. Versant will be the new home for MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network, Oxygen, E!,SYFY andthe Golf Channel among other assets, while NBCUniversal maintains NBC News, the NBC News Now streaming network, Telemundo and Bravo. For years, NBC and MSNBC were joined at the hip as the cable network relied on the news-gathering operation and talent of its sister broadcast network. But the separation is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.So who gets what in the messy divorce?MSNBC TO CHANGE NAME TO MS NOW IN COMCAST SPINOFF DEALOne of the looming questions over MSNBC's future was whether it would keep its name and the iconic "Peacock" symbol. That answer came Monday when it was announced that MSNBC will be renamed MS NOW, an acronym for "My Source for News, Opinion, and the World."A new logo was also unveiled, replacing the fashionable rainbow bird with a striped flag with a red, white and blue color scheme.Notably, CNBC, which always stood for "Consumer News and Business Channel," will keep its name.MSNBC'S REVAMPED LINEUP FLOUNDERS, JEN PSAKI SHEDS 47% OF PREDECESSORS' VIEWERSHIPNew York City's Rockefeller Center has always been the home of NBC, and MSNBC when the cable network launched in 1996.But in the divorce, NBC gets to keep the house. MSNBC is packing up its boxes and will temporarily relocate to nearby 43rd Street until it finds a permanent home.It will also vacate NBC's Washington, D.C., bureau near the Capitol Building and establish its own office space.Throughout the NBC-MSNBC marriage, many of the hosts and correspondents hopped between the broadcast and cable networks on a regular basis to provide coverage of the latest breaking news. MSNBC has been on a hiring spree in recent months since NBC will maintain the news apparatus post-divorce, most notably poaching veteran journalist Carol Leonnig from the embattled Washington Post. But for the talent whose roles blurred the lines between both networks, a custody battle has ensued.NBC nabbed Steve Kornacki, the Peacock network's data and polling expert who had become a fixture on MSNBC's election night coverage. Andrea Mitchell, who ended her long-running MSNBC program "Andrea Mitchell Reports" in February, will remain with NBC as its chief Washington and foreign affairs correspondent.CLICK HERE FOR THE LATEST MEDIA AND CULTURE NEWSSimilarly, Jos Daz-Balart departed MSNBC earlier this year but will continue anchoring "NBC Nightly News Saturday" as well as Noticias Telemundo.Meanwhile, the NBC reporters who will be joining MS NOW include justice beat reporters Ken Dilanian and Ryan Reilly, national correspondent Jacob Soboroff, White House correspondent Vaughn Hillyard and internet reporter Brandy Zadrozny. A slew of other staffers will also make the leap from NBC to MS NOW.Everyone on MSNBC's current lineup will remain on the network through its transformation into MS NOW, including Stephanie Ruhle, who previously served as a senior business analyst for NBC News while hosting "The 11th Hour" on cable.Willie Geist, who currently hosts "Sunday TODAY" for NBC and co-hosts "Morning Joe" on MSNBC, has landed a rare deal where he is able to maintain both roles at each network after the separation, a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital.

Prince Williams mistrust of Meghan Markle is stalling peace with Prince Harry: author
Meghan Markle is said to be a major factor in the ongoing feud between Prince William and Prince Harry. The claim was made by Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of "My Mother and I." Seward, who has been writing about the royal family for over 20 years, claimed to Fox News Digital that William, heir to the British throne, is aware of how supporters of the monarchy in the U.K. feel about the Duchess of Sussex.Fox News Digital reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.PRINCE HARRY, MEGHAN MARKLE'S ROYAL EXIT CAUSED UNFORGIVABLE PAIN IN QUEEN ELIZABETHS FINAL YEARS: EXPERT"The flea in the ointment really is very much Meghan," Seward claimed to Fox News Digital. "Shes disliked intensely by a large number of the monarchists of this country. They see her as being very damaging to the royal family. And also, I think a lot of people in America feel the same. They dont like that Meghan [reportedly] dissed her husbands family and dissed her own family.""Its just extraordinary to think that her children have not met their grandfather," Seward shared, referring to former Hollywood lighting director Thomas Markle."I think people in the States find that extremely odd, and [we] find it very odd here. And I think thats a real black mark against Meghans character. I think she hasnt been able to embrace her own family, however much she feels about them. I mean, Harrys never even met her father, which is extraordinary.""There are a lot of difficult emotions [to] get over there," Seward added.British royal expert Hilary Fordwich also told Fox News Digital that many in the U.K. have "an unfavorable" view of the Duchess, 44."Persistent lack of trust is the main reason why senior royals remain reluctant to engage in reconciliation efforts," she claimed. "Their concerns are well-founded, that any private family discussions could become public or be used for commercial projects [Meghan] has no sense of duty towards the British public nor the institution."WATCH: PRINCE WILLIAMS MISTRUST OF MEGHAN MARKLE STALLS PEACE WITH PRINCE HARRY: AUTHORSeward and Fordwichs claims came shortly after People magazine reported in a cover story that William and Harry continue to go "on separate paths" with no communication between them."The rift is very profound and very long-lasting," Robert Lacey, author of "Battle of Brothers," told the outlet. "It will not be changed, in my opinion, until Harry makes a move and apologizes."Insiders also told the outlet that Harrys calls and messages to William had gone unanswered.Seward pointed out to Fox News Digital that William has "taken a firm stance" in keeping his distance amid the couples tell-alls in recent years. However, Harry has made it clear that his brother was "unpleasant" to Meghan, she argued."Harry thinks that William insulted Meghan," said Seward. "I think when you have that kind of animosity, its really hard to [get around it]. I just dont see any kind of reparation. I just dont see it at this moment."The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back as senior royals in 2020, citing the unbearable intrusions of the British press and a lack of support from the palace. Following their move to California that year, the couple aired their grievances in interviews and documentaries.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERIn 2023, Harry wrote a memoir, "Spare," where he recounts a long-standing sibling rivalry that worsened after he began a relationship with the former American actress, whom he married in 2018.He said that during an argument in 2019, William called Meghan "difficult" and "rude," then grabbed him by the collar and knocked him down. Harry suffered cuts and bruises from landing on a dog bowl.Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace have commented on any of the allegations.Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams claimed to Fox News Digital that "a mistrust of Meghan" is "a major reason" why William wont engage with his brother, but only one of many."William feels Harry has betrayed the royal family," Fitzwilliams explained. "Given the personal attacks on him in the memoir Spare, reconciliation is likely to be a tough call with the [Prince of Wales].""There are some things which are not forgotten," Fitzwilliams warned. "Of course, reconciliation is desirable and being in exile, which Harry is, is often very sad The last time the brothers were together, at the memorial service for Lord Fellowes last August, they reportedly didnt speak. I doubt much has changed."LIKE WHAT YOURE READING? CLICK HERE FOR MORE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSIn May of this year, Harry said he wanted to reconcile with his family after losing a court battle over his publicly funded security. The 40-year-old said his father, who is battling an undisclosed form of cancer, wouldnt speak to him."I would love reconciliation with my family. Theres no point in continuing to fight anymore," said Harry. "I dont know how much longer my father has."Seward said theres a good reason the king, 76, has also been keeping his distance."I think that Harry is very saddened by the fact that he has failed to reconcile at least with his father," said Seward. "But it is not that his father doesnt love him. Its because his father doesnt trust his son not to repeat what he says. He cant have that happen. So its easier for [the royal family] to avoid the issue."Its human nature, really, to just avoid confrontation. If you cant deal with it, and you dont know how to deal with it, or if theres no way of dealing with it, you just avoid it. And you can do that easily when you have a very, very busy life."Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital he remains hopeful the two families can eventually come together."I believe it to be totally correct that members of the royal family do not trust Meghan," he said. "And of course, she does not trust some members of the royal family in return Also, if every member of the royal family [doesnt trust Meghan], then why did King Charles instigate a meeting with his senior advisor and that of Harry and Meghans team? Is it all the royal family or is it perhaps William?""I hope that Harry and Meghan are warmly welcomed back to Britain with their children," he added. But Seward doesnt see Meghan, who is raising two children in California, returning to the U.K. anytime soon. The Duchess of Sussex is gearing up to launch Season 2 of her Netflix lifestyle series, "With Love, Meghan.""I dont think that Meghan has any intention of wanting to come back and live in the U.K.," she said. "Why should she? Shes got a beautiful house in Montecito. Shes got a lot of work in LA. Her friends are there. Her life is there. Why would she want to come back here? No reason at all. I certainly wouldnt if I were her. Why would you come back to a country where people really didnt like you or want you?"Still, Seward noted that Princess Diana "wouldve hated the idea that her boys werent speaking to each other." Harrys glamorous mother died in August 1997 at age 36 from injuries she sustained in a car crash."I think she wouldve been the one person that could have brought them together, possibly," said Seward.PRINCE WILLIAM'S ABSENCE AT KING CHARLES AND PRINCE HARRY'S 'PEACE SUMMIT' COULD BE A 'WARNING SHOT': EXPERT"They never wouldve fallen out. But Harry has always been very conscious of the fact that hes the spare. As we know, he wrote a book about it. And not just that, but he kept mentioning it. And William has always been rather jealous that Harry had all the fun without the responsibility of being a future monarch.""I feel that [this] wont go on forever," said Seward. "I just feel that at some stage they will begin to come together."People magazine reported that Harry is expected to be back in the U.K. in September. Hell be supporting WellChild, a charity that helps children with life-limiting conditions. Its unknown whether Harry will reunite with at least his father."This is the sadness of it [the brothers] arent supporting each other like they should be," a source close to the royal household told the outlet. "Thats what any mother would want that they are there for each other."

A former New York City Police Department detective says he thinks police in Washington, D.C. are treating the death of a congressional intern in an "unusual" way.According to police in Washington, D.C., Eric Tarpinian-Jachym, a 21-year-old student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, who was in D.C. for an internship, was shot on June 30 at around 10:28 p.m. and later died at a local hospital on July 1. Tarpinian-Jachym was interning for Rep. Ron Estes, R-Kan., at the time. The Metropolitan Police Department said several people were seen exiting a car before opening fire, when Tarpinian-Jachym was shot. Authorities said that Tarpinian-Jachym wasn't the intended target and that an adult female and 16-year-old male were injured. The shooting happened in the 1200 block of 7th Street, Northwest, near the Mt Vernon Sq 7th St-Convention Center Metro stop.Tarpinian-Jachym's mother, Tamara Jachym, told Fox News Digital that the Metropolitan Police Department hasn't been consistently updating her on the status of her son's case. An arrest hasn't been made in the shooting.MOTHER OF SLAIN CONGRESSIONAL INTERN SAYS DC COUNCIL TREATS VIOLENT CRIME LIKE A 'JOKE' AMID UNSOLVED KILLINGFormer NYPD Detective and security expert Pat Brosnan told Fox News Digital this is "unusual," stating that in his experience, families of homicide victims are frequently contacted by police."I think it's unusual," Brosnan said. "Certainly my experience and, you know, in other counties and municipalities, detectives are generally quite responsive to the uh inquiries from complaining witnesses because they understand the gravity of the crime they understand the impact on the effect that these criminal matters that occurred to different folks."Brosnan said the lack of consistent communication could be because of different factors, such as vacation or personal leave.MOM OF CONGRESSIONAL INTERN MURDERED IN DC WARNS PARENTS IT COULD HAPPEN TO THEIR KIDS"[Detectives] do understand that need for contact to provide a measure of comfort as well as direct knowledge process of the case. How the case is moving along," he said. "You know, are the witnesses been spoken to? Have there been eyewitnesses developed? Has the crime scene yielded any clues? And all the associated layers of an investigation."In a statement to Fox News Digital, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police Department said: "This is an active and open investigation that our detectives are continuing to work on. We remain in contact with the family and provide updates."In an earlier interview with Fox News Digital, Eric's mother, Tamara Jachym, said her son faced challenges in his life but constantly found ways to overcome it."He had ambition because he had some adversity in his life. A lot of things have happened to him. And he did struggle initially, like he had severe dyslexia as a first-grader. He couldn't read or write, but boy, he could do it. He taught himself mathematics and how to play chess from YouTube," Jachym said. "He had some adversity issues, but I think he felt accepted in D.C. because he was bright and articulate, and he was always kind of flat-faced. When he smiled, you knew he meant it. It was genuine."The FBI and Metropolitan Police Department are offering a $40,000 reward for anyone who provides information leading to an arrest and conviction, and are encouraging them to contact (202) 727-9099.

Trump calls White House talks 'very good, early step' toward Russia-Ukraine peace: Here's what's next
President Donald Trump described his White House negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders as "a very good, early step" toward ending the nearly four-year-old Russia-Ukraine war, announcing that he has already spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin about arranging a direct meeting with Zelenskyy.Trump said the group of world leaders held discussions on security guarantees for Ukraine, with commitments coming primarily from European nations "in coordination with the United States" in a statement on Truth Social after the meetings."Everyone is very happy about the possibility of PEACE for Russia/Ukraine," Trump said, adding that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and special envoy Steve Witkoff are now leading follow-up talks with Moscow and Kyiv.Zelenskyy signaled he too was ready to meet directly with Putin.A Kremlin readout of the Trump-Putin call confirmed the pair "discussed the idea of raising the level of direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations," but did not say whether Putin had agreed.FLASHBACK: WHAT HAPPENED THE PREVIOUS TIME ZELENSKYY MET WITH TRUMP IN THE OVAL OFFICETrump revealed that following the Oval Office meetings he phoned Putin to begin making "arrangements for a meeting, at a location to be determined, between President Putin and President Zelenskyy." If that takes place, he said, the next stage would be a "Trilat" a trilateral meeting involving himself, Putin, and Zelenskyy.Zelenskyy said he would be open to a meeting with Trump and Putin or a meeting with just Putin next."We confirmed that we are ready for a trilateral meeting," the Ukrainian president told reporters after the meeting. "And if Russia proposed to the President of the United States bilateral, and then we will see the result of the bilateral, then it can be trilateral. So I said, always, Ukraine will never stop on the way to peace, and we are ready for any kind of format but on the level of leaders."While Trump has previously cast himself as a mediator rather than a dealmaker, the suggestion that Putin is open to meeting face-to-face with Zelenskyy marked the biggest breakthrough in peace negotiations yet. "Again, this was a very good, early step for a war that has been going on for almost four years," he said. The idea of "security guarantees" has long been central to Ukraines demands. According to Trump, these would be provided primarily by European states, coordinated with Washington. Ahead of the meetings, Trump had not ruled out U.S. military involvement in the guarantees, but he has since stressed that Europe will bear the primary burden of defending Ukraine.Trump also reiterated his view that U.S. support should come through arms sales rather than aid packages. "Were not giving anything. Were selling weapons," he said earlier this week. Ukraine has reportedly floated a proposal to buy as much as $100 billion in U.S.-made weapons with European financing, according to the Financial Times.During the meeting, Trump and Zelenskyy were pictured viewing a map outlining the front lines of the war and the Ukrainian territory currently occupied by Russia, about 20% of the country. Trump may have used the map to discuss with Zelenskyy which regions he could realistically part with in order to obtain peace.According to a source familiar with Zelenskyys visit planning, clarity on U.S. and European security guarantees could help the Ukrainian leader make the case domestically for any territorial concessions a likely core element of talks with Russia. The question of which areas Ukraine could "let go" and which it must retain remains deeply sensitive in Kyiv, where public opinion has hardened after years of fighting and heavy civilian losses.RUSSIAN DRONE STRIKES KILL 7 IN KHARKIV DURING ZELENSKYY'S WHITE HOUSE MEETING WITH TRUMPMoscow strongly opposed the concept of NATO-style guarantees. The Russian foreign ministry released a statement during the White House talks warning that any arrangement involving NATO countries could trigger "uncontrolled escalation" with "unpredictable consequences," according to state media outlet RIA. That categorical rejection underscores the difficulty of bridging the gap between Ukraines security needs and Russias demands.German Chancellor Merz stressed that no meaningful talks could occur without at least a temporary ceasefire."I cant imagine that the next meeting would take place without a ceasefire," Merz said. "So lets work on that and put pressure on Russia, because the credibility of these efforts depends on at least a ceasefire."Fox News' Jacqui Heinrich contributed to this report.

Parental rights concerns erupt over California bill that would let non-relatives make decisions for kids
California's latest move against the Trump agenda has some parents and activists sounding the alarm over a proposal they say could create legal loopholes that could endanger children and hinder parental rights. The Family Preparedness Plan Act, also known as AB 495, is billed as a way to ensure children are cared for if their parents are suddenly detained or deported. Critics warn the measure goes too far by letting non-family adults step in as caregivers with limited oversight a change they argue could create dangerous workarounds."It basically means any adult can self-attest to their own authorization to take guardianship over any minor child," Elizabeth Barcohana, an attorney and California mother of four, told Fox News on Monday."Without parental notification, consent, background check, any guardrails, this adult can basically take control over anyones child."GOP BILL WOULD GRANT TRUMP RIGHT TO DEPLOY NATIONAL GUARD FOR IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENTThe bill specifies that the measure "does not affect the rights of the minors parents or legal guardian regarding the care, custody, and control of the minor, and does not mean that the caregiver has legal custody of the minor."Instead, it would authorize caregivers to handle school enrollment as well as authorize medical, mental health and dental care, given that the child lives inside that caregiver's home.Separate provisions of AB 495, however, expand the role of the courts, allowing judges to appoint a custodial parent and another adult nominated by that parent as joint guardians if the parent is expected to be temporarily unavailable, including in immigration-related cases. The bill also states that caregiver eligibility is limited to "nonrelative extended family members," defined as adults with an established familial or mentoring relationship with the child, including teachers, clergy, neighbors or family friends.Supporters say the bill is meant to protect children, not create loopholes.Lawmakers wrote that, "stable caregiving arrangements are essential for the health, safety, and emotional well-being of children" and argued that immigration crackdowns have put families at risk of "widespread family separations" that "disrupt caregiving stability for children under 18 years of age."MOODY ROLLS OUT BILL TO ALLOW STATES TO ASSIST IN IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT AMID VIOLENT LA ANTI-ICE RIOTSSeveral nonprofits have backed the measure, including the Alliance for Childrens Rights. Its president, Jennifer L. Braun, said the bill "advances the goal of putting childrens well-being at the forefront" by promoting parent engagement in "the hard decisions that are best for their family" and by providing options to support them in times of crisis. The caregivers authorization affidavit mentioned in the bill includes a section where caregivers must declare whether parents were notified regarding the caregiver's intent to authorize medical care and more. One option reads, "I have advised the parent(s) or other person(s) having legal custody of the minor of my intent to authorize medical care, and have received no objection."The other: "I am unable to contact the parent(s) or other person(s) having legal custody of the minor at this time, to notify them of my intended authorization."Critics like Barcohana say the second option allows adults to assume control of a child without ever speaking to the parents."[That's] the most egregious thing on this form," she said.Barcohana also warned the measure isnt confined to the children of deported illegal immigrants since the bills language applies to any child. She says the scope leaves the door open for abuse far beyond its intended purpose."That intention doesn't make it into the amendments to the statute itself, so it's not limited to that situation and, as a result, it applies to any child, not only California children but a child that is brought in by a trafficker from another state."
