WWW.FOXNEWS.COMBenny Johnson scolds White House reporters who 'lie' about D.C. being safe during press briefingConservative media commentator Benny Johnson scolded reporters who he accused of lying about how safe Washington, D.C. is during Tuesday's White House press briefing.White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt kicked off the briefing by calling on Johnson, who sat in the new media seat established at the beginning of President Donald Trump's second term."As a D.C. resident of 15 years, I lived on Capitol Hill. I witnessed so many muggings and so much theft, I've lost track," Johnson said. "I was carjacked. I have murders on my ring camera and mass shootings. I witnessed a woman on my block get held up at gunpoint for $20, and my house was set ablaze in an arson with my infant child inside."CNN'S EFFORT TO RIDICULE TRUMP AS WASHINGTON'S BATMAN BACKFIRES AS SOCIAL MEDIA HAILS COOL COMPARISON"And so, to any reporter that says and lies that D.C. is a safe place to live and work, let me just say this: Thank you," he said, turning to Leavitt. "Thank you for making the city safe. Because no parent should have to go through what my family went through, having the fire department rip open their door to save their infant child. And so, thank you for your work on securing this city."The YouTube host went on to ask Leavitt to respond to attacks made by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reacting to Trump's crackdown on crime in the nation's capitol."Well, first of all, Benny, I'm so sorry that happened to you and your family," Leavitt responded. "There have been, unfortunately, far too many victims of crime in this city. And I know the majority of residents in the District of Columbia agree with you."TRUMP'S PLAN TO DEPLOY NATIONAL GUARD IN DC SPARKS BACKLASH FROM RESIDENTSBUT SOME WELCOME ITLeavitt went on to cite a Washington Post poll taken in May 2024 showing "65%" of D.C. residents think crime is a serious problem, up from 56% from the year prior."So it's quite funny how many of you in the media agreed with what the President was saying yesterday. But now, once the President says it, many of you are disagreeing with him," Leavitt chided the press. "So, the concern that you share with so many other residents in the District of Columbia is real, and that's why this President is taking action to address it."CLICK HERE FOR THE LATEST NEWS IN MEDIA AND CULTURELeavitt called the Democratic Party pushback "despicable," saying it "should be a winning issue for all Americans.""I don't understand it's just anything President Trump does, the Democrats want to disagree with," Leavitt said. "I think the President would love to work with Democrats on this issue to bring law and order to America's cities, but unfortunately, they have failed. And that's why he's taken this historic action to federalize the National Guard. And, as you're seeing from last night's numbers, we already have seen success. We are removing violent offenders, we are arresting criminals, and we are removing drugs and firearms off the streets of the city to make it safer for all of its residents."Johnson also asked Leavitt if the President would honor Edward "Big Balls" Coristine, a 19-year-old former DOGE staffer, who was attacked in D.C., by giving him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.Leavitt said she hadn't spoken to Trump about it, but also said it could be something he'd consider.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 12 Visualizações 0 Anterior

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMNew poll exposes trouble for rivals in heated NYC mayoral race as one candidate takes commanding leadNew York City Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani maintains a hefty lead in the race, according to a recent Siena poll of registered voters.Mamdani is polling at 44%, and former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whos running as an independent, is at 25%. Republican Curtis Sliwa is at 12%, and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams is at 7%."While City Democrats favor Mamdani over Cuomo 53-32%, with single digits for the other two, more than two-thirds of City Republicans support Sliwa. City independent voters are more closely divided, with 30% supporting Mamdani and 20% supporting Adams," Siena pollster Steven Greenberg said in a press release on Tuesday.CUOMO OPPONENTS SLAM HIS RE-ENTRY INTO NYC MAYOR RACE, SAY CITY WANTS TO MOVE ON FROM EX GOVERNOR"City voters under 35 are overwhelmingly supporting Mamdani, as are a plurality of voters 35-54, however, voters 55 and older back Cuomo over Mamdani, 38-32%," he added."Mamdani, included in the Siena poll for the first time, has a 46-32% favorability rating with New York City voters and a negative 28-37% favorability rating among voters statewide," Greenberg continued. However, the pollster said that Cuomo, who resigned as governor and then lost the Democratic primary to Mamdani, is facing serious favorability issues."Cuomo has an underwater favorability rating with City voters, 37-54%, and an evenworse 29-61% favorability rating with statewide voters, the worst ever favorability rating for Cuomo in a Siena poll. In fact, among Democrats statewide, Cuomos favorability rating is 36-56%, down from 51-39% in March," he said.CUOMO, ADAMS TRADE SHOTS OVER WHO SHOULD DROP OUT IN RACE AGAINST MAMDANI FOR NYC MAYORAdams, who opted to pursue the race as an independent, is also facing favorability woes, according to the poll. The mayor was indicted by the Department of Justice last year on bribery, conspiracy and campaign finance charges, but the case was later dropped. Adams has presented himself as a pro-law enforcement alternative to Mamdani, especially after the 345 Park Avenue office shooting last month."Adams is also underwater with voters in the City, 30-58%, statewide 22-51%, and among Democrats statewide 22-59%," Greenberg said. "Sliwa has a 26-30% statewide favorability rating, and 30-42% in the City."The recent poll comes as the nations eyes remain on the race, as Mamdanis win was seen as an upset against Cuomo, and the Democratic nominee has pushed several far-left policies. Currently, Mamdani is doing an anti-Trump tour across the city."There is no borough that will be free from Trump's cruelty," Mamdani said on Monday. "We will feel the pain of this legislation, whether we are in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens or Staten Island, and we will shine a light this week and every week on the costs of this vision that is coming out of Washington, D.C."MAMDANI'S PRIMARY WIN EXPOSES DEMOCRAT DIVIDE AS TOP LEADERS WITHHOLD ENDORSEMENTSAlthough some Democrats have held back on publicly supporting Mamdani, others, such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-NY.Cuomo, Adams, and Sliwa have taken aim at Mamdani on a variety of issues, including policing and rent control. Cuomo is even pitching "Zohran's Law" after it came out that Mamdani lives in a rent-stabilized apartment."Rent-stabilized apartments when they're vacant should only be rented to people who need affordable housing, not people like Zohran Mamdani," Cuomo told reporters in a videoposted on social media on Sunday."We must remember that Andrew Cuomo has spent more time talking about my apartment than asking why so many New Yorkers are being forced out of theirs. He has spent more time criticizing me than he has in criticizing the legislation that Donald Trump has passed," Mamdani fired back on Tuesday. The election is on Nov. 4, which makes it one of the few major off-year elections.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 12 Visualizações 0 Anterior

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMMike Tyson says whether he fights again depends on federal marijuana legalization and reschedulingEXCLUSIVE: As President Donald Trump determines whether to pursue federal cannabis reform, he may also wield the power to determine the future of Mike Tyson's boxing career.Tyson has been one of the most vocal advocates for the rescheduling of marijuana from a Schedule I drug to Schedule III which is considered a far less dangerous category of substance. Trump told reporters Monday it's a decision he will determine in the next few weeks.Tyson told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview on June 30 his 59th birthday whether he fights again will depend on whether cannabis is legalized and rescheduled.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"It depends on if cannabis ever becomes legal or not, and rescheduled," Tyson said when asked if it's possible that he would agree to another fight.Tyson said he agreed to his last fight vs. YouTuber Jake Paul while under the influence of marijuana, and wouldn't have agreed to the fight if he was sober."I don't really believe so. No, I wouldn't have did that," Tyson said when asked about the fight. "Because without cannabis, I'm getting too involved in my feelings. With cannabis, I'm very objective."He added that it "wouldn't take much" [cannabis] for him to agree to another fight, before ultimately suggesting that depends on the rescheduling of the plant.Tyson led a coalition of current and former athletes, including Kevin Durant, Dez Bryant and Antonio Brown, who signed a letter to the White House in late June, lobbying for federal Cannabis reform. The letter called for the rescheduling of cannabis from Schedule I to Schedule III, clemency for "nonviolent" marijuana offenses, and ending "discriminatory banking practices," related to financial regulations of the cannabis industry.Tyson told Fox News Digital in the June 30 interview that rescheduling was the "most important" goal in his letter. He added that he was "let down" by how former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden handled federal marijuana reform, but is hopeful that Trump will take a new approach.EX-NFLER SAYS HE'D 'BE IN TROUBLE' IF CANNABIS WERE STILL WIDELY ILLEGAL, GLAD TODAY'S PLAYERS CAN USE IT"It was a let-down," Tyson said of Obama and Biden's handling. "We have a different president now, so we're talking to him. So it seems a lot different talk to President Trump than it did with the other guys."Tyson has a long-running friendship with Trump that dates back to the 1980s, during the earlier years of Tyson's boxing career and Trump's rise as a celebrity New York City real estate developer. Now Tyson believes that Trump himself would make good decisions for the country under the influence of marijuana."I truly believe that, yes," Tyson said.Still, Tyson said he would never invite Trump to use marijuana with him."No way. No, he doesn't smoke, he doesn't believe in anything that can enhance the motor skills of your brain. And I respect that," Tyson said.In addition to rescheduling, clemency for nonviolent users is also a very personal priority for Tyson. Tyson said he has watched people get incarcerated for nonviolent marijuana offenses since he was a child."I'm friends with those people. Those people come from my community," Tyson said.Tyson recalled the first person he ever met who was incarcerated for such an offense."I know he did a lot of time. I know he went in there when I was a little kid. By the time he came out, I was boxing," Tyson said. "He was a friend of people in the neighborhood. Everybody in the neighborhood knew who he was. He wasn't really a friend that I hung out with or anything, but the whole neighborhood knew who he was I never smoked with him."A recent study by researchers at UC San Francisco determined that eating edible cannabis, such as gummies, has the same cardiovascular risk as smoking marijuana for long-term users. The risk stems from reduced blood vessel function, according to the study, published in JAMA Cardiology May 28.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 22 Visualizações 0 Anterior

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMStepdad punishes boy's disrespect with pushups and squats in viral videoA stepfather has gone viral for using exercise to discipline his stepson and then sharing the video on Instagram. The boy was caught telling his mother to "chill" after he was told to stop his current behavior. His stepdad stepped in, asking the boy, "Did you just tell your mom to chill'?"GRANDMOTHER'S RESPONSE TO MOM 'GIVING IN' TO TODDLER AT DINNER SPARKS HEATED DEBATEHe then instructed his stepson to do several push-ups, followed by 60 squats."Count em," the man told his stepson calmly, as he moved through the workout. "Keep squatting. All the way down."The punishment was followed by a conversation where the stepdad asked, "Do we tell our mom to chill out?"The boy replied, "No."The man responded, "Absolutely not. I will not let you talk to my girl that way Would I let anyone else talk to her like that? No. So, you dont get to talk to her like that."FAMILY VACATION DRAMA ERUPTS OVER GRANDMOTHER'S REQUEST FOR DINNER WITH HER GROWN KIDS ONLYThe two hugged it out, and the boy apologized to his mother with a wholesome, "Sorry, Mom."The stepdad ended the conversation by reassuring the boy that he was loved."Hey, I love you," he said. The video, which was posted on the family's Instagram account, raisingmaletich, has since gone viral on social media, receiving millions of views. The mother, who wrote the caption for the video, shared the following."I will never stop being grateful to be raising kids with a real man who knows how to be a father, especially to his boys. This is masculinity. I was trying to send a work email while making breakfast for my family and my son kept asking me to use my phone after I had repeatedly told him No, you need to wait. His dad overheard him tell me to chill and here is how he handled it."The parenting approach was met with mixed reactions, but many social media users shared their praise."Stepdad did the right thing. Awesome!" one X user commented under Fox News post of the video."Thats an awesome punishment. Good job on the stepdad!" another wrote.Educational psychologist and parenting expert Dr. Michele Borba reacted to the viral moment in an interview with Fox News Digital, noting that discipline is not one-size-fits-all.Borba, who is based in California, commented that the stepfather approached discipline the "right way" in this scenario, by responding calmly instead of reacting, and enforcing a punishment that seemed familiar and doable for the child."It may be something that he and the kid did together or the kid is good at, because [he] seems to have no problem doing it," she said.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER"The most amazing thing the dad did was right on the mark He said, 'Here's what was wrong.' He was very calm in his delivery," Borba went on. "And then he let his stepson know in no uncertain terms you don't speak like that to your mom and I don't want you to do it again."Where the punishment went wrong, the expert noted, was when the parents posted it on the internet, at which point it became less about physical consequences and more about public humiliation."Whatever was done now just crumbles, because the discipline is no longer face-to-face appropriate it's shaming," Borba said."The huge red flag was going viral with it, because now it's not guilt. It's shame. It's public," she added. "You've got a real emotional issue now."Borba stressed that discipline should always be age-appropriate and tailored to the child, as making a child do strenuous exercise they are not comfortable with would be considered inappropriate. For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/healthIt is important for discipline to be delivered in a way that is both responsible and respectful, the expert said."The key question is, will it enhance the child's behavior so they don't repeat the behavior?"0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 37 Visualizações 0 Anterior
