WWW.FOXNEWS.COMHochul, once Cuomo's second in command, identifies 'areas of alignment' with socialist MamdaniNew York Gov. Kathy Hochul once lieutenant governor under Andrew Cuomo said Sunday she has identified "areas of alignment" with democratic socialist New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani."Fox News Sunday" host Shannon Bream asked Hochul if she supported Mamdani, who is now running against Cuomo and others, after noting how the candidate praised her for hosting Texas Democratic lawmakers who fled the state to deter a GOP redistricting plan."We still have many differences. I don't know how you whitewash that away," Hochul said. "He can agree with me, and many people agree with, and I think it's not just Democrats who say New Yorkers stand up for our rights. We do that. It's what we're hardwired to do. We're fighters. I'm a mom from Buffalo. I guess they're not used to taking on a mom from Buffalo, perhaps."CUOMO SUPPORTERS LOOK TO WEALTHY ENCLAVE TO TAKE DOWN MAMDANI: REPORT"There's many areas of disagreement, but also there's areas of alignment, including affordability," the governor added of Mamdani. "You know, his election touched a nerve. And people said, you know what, we're just not getting ahead. And the Trump policies that were promised to lift people up, reduce costs, not touch Medicaid, make sure that tariffs create jobs, none of that happened. So there is this sense of we need some change now."As governor, Hochul said she's worked with two different mayors of New York City already, and she'll continue to "work with whomever the voters want me to, and I'll make it work."GOV. HOCHUL DODGES ON WHETHER SHE'LL ENDORSE ZOHRAN MAMDANI"I will make it work out because I'm not going to go to war with the 8 million residents of New York that I also represent, so my job is to calm things down," Hochul said. "Let's see what the election results are, but people have to recognize that candidate for mayor has also touched a nerve and we need to be responsive to that. So I'm aligned with him that we need to start finding ways to make life more affordable for New Yorkers."Hochul assumed the role of governor after Cuomo stepped down amid multiple controversies and she was later elected to a full term. After a June Democratic mayoral primary loss to Mamdani, Cuomo joined incumbent New York City Mayor Eric Adams as another independent candidate running in the general election.Adams and Cuomo have traded barbs about which of them should drop out before November to better the chances of a Mamdani defeat.0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 29 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMUS-Russian ballerina reflects on release from Russian penal colony after year-long ordealAn American ballerina imprisoned in Russia for more than one year has opened up about her agonizing ordeal and how President Trump gave her a "warm" welcome upon her return home."Im really happy to be here, and Im really happy to be back in America," Ksenia Karelina, a dual Russian and U.S. citizen, shared on Fox News' "My View with Lara Trump."Karelina was detained in Jan. 2024 when she had traveled to Russia, her home country, to visit her family. The ballerina, who worked as an esthetician at a Los Angeles spa, had been accused of treason over a 2022 donation totaling $51.80 that she made to a U.S. charity supporting victims of the war in Ukraine. She was sentenced to 12 years in a Russian labor camp."Right when I landed in my homeland, thats when everything started. I was going through border control for the paperwork check. They asked if I had another passport. I said that I do, and they asked for the passport, and they saw the other passport is an American passport. They took both documents, and they say theyre going to talk with me separate, and it was 11 hours of the first examination overnight," Karelina said.BRITTNEY GRINER REVEALS DISTURBING TRUTH ABOUT HER RUSSIAN PRISON CELLMATE'S CRIMES: 'DIDNT REALLY SLEEP'Russia invaded Ukraine in Feb. 2022, after having previously taken Crimea in 2014. Russia is estimated to have suffered nearly one million casualties with 250,000 killed, and Ukraine has seen as many as 400,000 casualties total with 60,000-100,000 believed to be killed, according to a Feb. 2025 CSIS report.Karelina shared that Russian authorities told her she was facing a lifetime sentence over the so-called "treason." The dual national said that, at first, the whole experience was surreal to her."You dont really realize it could be real," Karelina said. "You can imagine about prison just watching the movies or something, its that, but more."The ballerina said her parents were patriotic citizens of Russia, as she was as well, and it was devastating to her family that the country that they loved captured their own daughter.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREUKRAINIAN US AMBASSADOR, SEEN WITH HEAD IN HANDS DURING OVAL OFFICE MEETING, IS DEPARTING DCShe told Lara Trump that her family had to focus on supporting each other in order to survive the ordeal. Karelina said she drew inspiration from a book about a saint who survived in the desert in order to endure the endless days trapped inside the walls of her prison cell."You just need to survive somehow, and you just drag day to day I had this phrase in my head Just one more step, just do one more step, just one more step,' and thats how you drag through this, at first especially," she said.Karelina said she and her boyfriend, Chris Van Heerden, wrote letters back and forth throughout her ordeal in the penal colony. She said he was her "hero" who never stopped fighting for her. The ballerina said that Van Heerden never expressed any doubt that she would be freed. On April 10, 2025, her boyfriend was proved correct when Karelina was released in a prisoner swap. After her release, Karelina met with President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, which she likened to meeting an old friend."Never in my life I would imagine being in the Oval Office shaking President Trumps hand. It felt so warm, it felt almost like stopping by at someone you knew for a while. He was very warm, he was very simple, very welcoming. He was funny. He joked right away it felt overwhelming, and now I can tell more than ever if not for President Trump, Id still be in a Russian prison, but he really does care about regular citizens," Karelina said. The ballerina said she is now working to help free Olga Jezler, a 35-year-old United States permanent resident, who has been imprisoned in Russia for the last three years. She also expressed hope for an end to the war in Ukraine."People shouldnt die with no reason. I really hope everythings going to be peaceful soon."0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 29 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMPiers Morgan 'clarifies' sentiment on Jake Paul's 'staged' fights amid legal threatsTalk-show host Piers Morgan appeared to backtrack his sentiments on what he said were Jake Paul's "staged" fights after Paul and his team threatened legal action."I posted a few weeks ago that Jake Pauls boxing career has been boring staged bulls---. What I meant is that his fights have been predominantly against older, past-their-prime opponents, which may be lucrative for both sides, and may have entertainment value, but dont reveal how he stacks up against currently ranked boxers and therefore are not a good look for the sport,"Morgan posted to X."I did not intend to suggest that the outcome was predetermined and certainly didnt mean to suggest anything illegal. But if reports are correct that Jake is now in negotiations to fight Anthony Joshua, that would obviously be a seriously credible bout against one of the best heavyweights in the world. Jake is welcome to come on Uncensored to discuss this, and verbally slug it out with me, anytime."CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COMMorgan shared TMZ's post that said he "retract[ed]" his initial sentiment, but Morgan replied, "Clarifies, not retracts." He also deleted the post. That did not stop Paul from getting a final laugh, though."Omg the first peasant that I sue gets on his knees and apologizes who am I suing next for lying on my name?" Paul wrote in a post on his Instagram Stories on Saturday.Morgan wrote that he was not sued."If anyone says my fights are staged you will be sued and secondly you're a jealous a-- peasant who cannot even believe how good I am at this sport and you should go to church to fix your insecurities," Paul continued. "I pray for you because I have so much love humanity and that includes the people who are against me genuinely I pray for you and I want the world to be in a better place. You people are filled with a disease and I'm here to help you cure it."Last month, Paul posted to social media that he "asked my team to vigorously go after anyone who makes up lies about my boxing career." He hired attorney Alex Spiro, who once represented Elon Musk and Aaron Hernandez, earlier this month.MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian said on social media that Morgan can "count on" Bidarian suing him after the talk show host said the fights are "staged.""Its one thing to say, Youre not a good boxer. Its another thing to say, You fight older guys. But when you say the fights are staged, aka rigged, then youre defaming us," Bidarian told Fox News Digital in a recent interview. "You are destructing value for his brand, for MVPs brand and what we stand for, which is integrity of sport."You're actually attacking the California State Athletic Commission who oversaw this event (Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.). Then youre saying were risking going to federal prison for putting on staged events. So enough is enough, weve been patient for a long time, and now its time people either retract and admit they were wrong or go through with legal action.""Every single Jake Paul fight has been sanctioned by an athletic commission," Bidarian added. "Every single Jake Paul fight has had sports betting available on it. Every single Jake Paul fight has been with a large media partner. For someone to say that any of Jake's fights are anything other than professionally sanctioned fights with clear rules, is ridiculous."The calls about rigged fights grew loud after Paul fought Mike Tyson. At the time, Bidarian told Fox News Digital that it was all legitimate.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X,and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 44 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMBernie Sanders calls out Kamala Harris' campaign for being 'heavily influenced by wealthy people'Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., called out former Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign on Sunday for being influenced by wealthy people in 2024 and failing to speak to working families.CNN's "State of the Union" host Dana Bash pressed Sanders on a statement he made on one of his "Fighting Oligarchy" tour stops about the former vice president.Bash played a clip of Sanders telling the crowd, "One of the reasons, in my view, that Kamala Harris lost this election is she had too many billionaires telling her not to speak up for the working-class of this country."The CNN host reacted to the clip and said, "ouch."JOE ROGAN ASKS BERNIE SANDERS IF HE WILL RUN FOR PRESIDENT AGAIN, WHAT HE WOULD DO ON DAY ONE"I like her, shes a friend of mine, but her core consultants, you know, were heavily influenced by very wealthy people. How do you run for president and not develop a strong agenda which speaks to the economic crises facing working families?" Sanders asked."You know, more income and wealth inequality today than weve ever had. You have 60% of our people living paycheck to paycheck. Youve got a healthcare system which is broken and dysfunctional and despite spending so much were the only major country not to guarantee health care to all people. How do you not talk about these issues?" Sanders continued.Bash pushed back and said Harris talked about affordability.Sanders argued that Harris talked about it vaguely, but said he didn't want to rehash the 2024 campaign."I think the clue to Democratic victories is to understand that youve got to stand unequivocally with the working class of this country. You need an agenda that speaks to the needs of working people," Sanders said.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREHe went on to call for guaranteed healthcare for all Americans and an increased minimum wage."Is it [a] radical idea to say that in the midst of a competitive global economy, we need to make sure we have the best educated workforce that all of our kids, regardless of income, should be able to get a higher education? These ideas exist all over the world. They dont exist in America, and they dont exist because of the power of the oligarchs, economically and politically," he said. The senator called America's political system "broken and corrupt."Sanders was also asked if he planned to run for president again in 2028."Oh, god. Lets not worry about that. I am going to be 84 years of age next month, as a matter of fact. So I think that speaks for itself. But right now, what is more important in my view and I want to see, obviously, the most progressive candidate that we can have is to rally the grassroots of America," he said.0 Kommentare 0 Geteilt 61 Ansichten 0 Bewertungen
