Virginia Dem gubernatorial candidate and ex-CIA officer took $50K from CCP-linked tycoon
Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger took $50,000 from a Chinese businessman tied to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), according to campaign finance records. The donations came in two $25,000 installments in April and May from Pin Ni, president of Wanxiang America, the U.S. arm of Chinese automotive conglomerate Wanxiang Group. The revelation comes as Spanberger, a former U.S. representative from Virginia, champions electric vehicle tax credits and mandates policies that could directly benefit Wanxiangs EV operations.DEM GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE TOOK MONEY FROM CCP-LINKED BUSINESSMAN, HUNTER BIDEN ART BUYERSpanberger's campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. While accepting the $50,000 in campaign contributions from Pin, Spanberger has continued to spotlight her national security credentials on the campaign trail."At the CIA, she had one mission: protect and serve the United States of America," her campaign website states. "She worked undercover to identify threats to national security, prevent terrorist attacks, stop the spread of nuclear weapons, and track transnational criminal networks."Lawmakers from both parties have long raised concerns that the Chinese government exploits educational exchanges, research partnerships, and business investments in the U.S. as cover for espionage activities. These warnings have intensified in recent years amid growing scrutiny of Beijings influence operations on U.S. soil.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPA spokesperson for the Winsome Earle-Sears campaign told Fox News that Spanberger was "once again cozying up to international interests.""Taking $50,000 from someone with clear Chinese CommunistParty ties tells us all we need to know," said the spokesperson. "You cant claim to stand up to foreign threats while pocketing money from someone celebrated by the CCP."According to campaign finance records from the Federal Election Commission, Pin Ni has a long history of political donations to both Democratic and Republican candidates across the country. His contributions span multiple election cycles and include candidates at both the state and federal levels. In October 2024, Pin donated to the Republican National Committee and to New Jersey Democrat Senator Cory Booker's "Purpose Pac."

Trump admin cuts red tape on commercial drones to compete with China's dominance of the market
Delivery drones could soon take to the skies in full force, following a landmark proposed rule by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).The long-anticipated rule is aimed at allowing drones to operatebeyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) a move designed to counter Chinas dominance in unmanned aviation.Currently, operators must obtain individual FAA waivers only657 issued so far to fly drones beyond where they can physically see them, hampered by months of delay and bureaucratic setbacks. "Because of that complication, I don't think we saw the innovation that we should have in America," said Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on Tuesday."Our new rule will reform outdated regulations that were holding innovators back," the secretary claimed. "Thanks to President Trump, America not China will lead the way in this exciting new technology."RULES KEEPING DRONES ON LEASH COULD LOOSEN WITH DEREGULATION PROPOSAL FROM CONGRESSThis regulatory shift comes amid growing concern that the U.S. drone industry lags behind a Chinese sector dominated by firms like DJI, which controls as much as 90 percent of the global commercial drone market.Critics have warned that investment and development have drifted to China while American rules hold drones grounded."From search and rescue and public safety to package delivery, this is a big win for every industry and institution that would benefit from the expanded use of drones," Rep. Jen Kiggans, R-Va., who led the effort to expand commercial drone use in Congress, told Fox News Digital. "Our society isn't ever going to go backwards. Drone use is a reality."AMERICA'S SKIES ARE WIDE OPEN TO NATIONAL SECURITY THREATS, DRONE EXPERT WARNS: 'WE HAVE NO AWARENESS'President Donald Trump issued executive orders in June 2025 instructing the FAA to expedite BVLOS rulemaking and directing federal agencies to favor American-made drones while tightening oversight of Chinese-made models.Despite strong momentum, the FAA has a history of missed deadlines. Industry groups and lawmakers note that the NPRM has already been delayed past the congressional deadline initiated by the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024, which called for a proposed rule within four months of enactment and a final rule within 20 months. Industry experts have warned that further delays threaten billions in economic opportunity for Americas drone sector. They say it has delayed large-scale implementation of drones to perform tasks like inspecting powerlines and pipelines or carting medical supplies between facilities. The new rule launches a formal public comment period, expected to last about 60 days. Government agencies, drone manufacturers, and public safety partners will review the draft and submit feedback. After review, FAA aims to finalize the BVLOS rule by early 2026, though that timeline depends on the volume of comments and the remaining regulatory work.It comes at a time when the public remains spooked by commercial flight mishaps. But the new rule would require such drones to be built with collision-avoidance technology that can sense and stay away from aircraft and fly at an altitude of 400 feet or lower.

New tattoo sticker detects date rape drugs in 1 second
Checking your drink for drugs no longer needs to feel like a science experiment. Scientists in South Korea have created a new solution, a temporary tattoo sticker that instantly detects tampering. This simple sticker works fast, stays discreet, and offers surprisingly powerful protection. At first glance, it looks like ordinary skin art. In reality, it functions as a chemical sensor. The sticker detects GHB (gamma hydroxybutyrate), a drug commonly used to spike drinks. When even a tiny amount of GHB touches the sticker, the design changes from yellow to red within one second. This breakthrough gives partygoers, college students, and anyone in social settings a quick and subtle way to stay safe. Best of all, it's easier to use than any traditional strip, swab, or test card.Sign up for my FREE CyberGuy ReportGet my best tech tips, urgent security alerts, and exclusive deals delivered straight to your inbox. Plus, youll get instant access to my Ultimate Scam Survival Guide - free when you join myCYBERGUY.COM/NEWSLETTER.AI MODELS CAN SECRETLY INFECT EACH OTHERUsing the tattoo is simple. Apply the sticker to your arm, wrist, or hand before heading out. Later, if you're unsure about your drink, just dip your finger in, then touch that drop to the sticker. A color change to red means the drink contains GHB. Unlike other tests that can take several minutes or require privacy to use, this method is fast and low-profile, perfect for crowded clubs, bars, or house parties. The science behind this sticker is impressive. It's made from a flexible material called polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), and inside are gels containing a chemical called BHEI. That's what reacts to GHB and triggers the color change. Researchers tested the stickers on drinks like whiskey, beer, vodka, soju, and even coffee. They still worked after being stretched, twisted, or exposed to water. The detection limit is so sensitive that it can catch as little as 0.01 micrograms of GHB per milliliter.WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)?Even better? If your sticker changes color, the red result stays visible for up to 30 days after you remove it. That means you could potentially use it as evidence if needed. The scientists shared these results in a paper published in the journal ACS Sensors.Heading to a concert, a party, or just grabbing drinks with friends? This tiny sticker puts control in your hands. No lab gear or technical skills are necessary. Plus, there's no need to explain what you're doing to strangers. Just take a second to apply the sticker. Because it's designed to be low-cost and easy to mass-produce, wide availability could be coming soon.GET FOX BUSINESS ON THE GO BY CLICKING HEREDrink spiking is a serious issue that's hard to see, hard to stop, and hard to prove. But this tattoo-like sensor changes that. It adds a layer of protection that's quick, subtle, and science-backed. More versions may come in the future to detect other drugs like ketamine or Rohypnol. But even now, this single-sticker solution could help prevent dangerous situations before they start.Would you trust a tiny sticker on your skin to help keep you safe? NYC mayor flips script on Mamdani amid scramble to walk back anti-police rhetoric
New York Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani continues to walk past comments advocating for defunding the police, including at a National Night Out Against Crime event in the city on Tuesday night, but his opponent, Mayor Eric Adams, is not buying it."You can't become pro-public safety when you decide to run for mayor. That just can't happen," Adams said on Wednesday during a press conference, accusing Mamdani of flip-flopping."So are you just saying things to get elected, or are you saying things that you believe? Go look over my 30-year history, and youll see the consistency on what I want in this city around safety. Let's not tinker with what's working," he continued.MAMDANI'S ATTEMPTED POLICE PIVOT CONTINUES AFTER ADAMS ASKS 'WHERE WAS HE?'Mamdani has faced intense backlash following the 345 Park Avenue shooting last month in Manhattan, as five individuals, including the suspect and NYPD Officer Didarul Islam, were killed."I've said that since the beginning of the campaign, it is my belief, and whenever there have been tweets that have been cited from many years ago before I was an elected official, I've made very clear, as I said last week, that those are out of step with my positions as a candidate," he told reporters at the event. On the campaign trail, the Democrat maintains his stance that there should be a creation of a Department of Community Safety to deal with certain mental health-related emergency matters, as opposed to law enforcement.'DAMAGE CONTROL': MAMDANI'S 'BLATANT FLIP-FLOP' ON DEFUNDING POLICE RIPPED AS 'POLITICAL THEATRE'He reiterated his stance in a press conference with Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., on Monday, saying that "forced overtime" is a main contributor to officers leaving the NYPD, and that he wants "to empower police officers to respond to serious crime and hire mental health professionals to respond to mental health calls."He touched on it during his remarks at Tuesdays event as well, adding that "if we want our officers to be able to respond to the serious crimes that they signed up to join the department to address, then we must stop asking them to respond to nearly every single failure of the social safety net.""We dont need an investigation to know that the NYPD is racist, antiqueer & a major threat to public safety," he posted on June 28, 2020. "What we need is to #DefundTheNYPD. But your compromise uses budget tricks to keep as many cops as possible on the beat. NO to fake cuts defundthepolice.""We need a socialist city council to defund the police," he wrote on July 3, 2020.MAMDANI DODGES RESPONSIBILITY FOR THREATS TO NYPD IN FIRST PRESSER SINCE DEADLY MANHATTAN SHOOTING"City Council tried to make the NYPD reduce its overtime budget by half," Mamdaniposted on X in December 2020. "They simply refused. There is no negotiating with an institution this wicked & corrupt. Defund it. Dismantle it. End the cycle of violence."During his run for mayor, he changed his position from five years ago, including during a debate during the fiercely competitive Democratic primary."I will not defund the police. I will work with the police because I believe the police have a critical role to play in public service, public safety," he said at the time.Mamdani is in a closely watched race against Adams, who is a former police officer himself. In addition, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is running as an independent after losing the Democratic primary to Mamdani, and Republican Curtis Sliwa is the Republican nominee in the Nov. 4 election.

Kristi Noem rebukes NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani over ICE 'abduction' claims
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem delivered a pointed rebuttal to New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdanis accusation that ICE is "abduct[ing]" immigrants, telling Fox News that his rhetoric ignores the agencys critical role in getting dangerous criminals off the streets."I can't even imagine how the people of New York City feel listening to that, knowing that if he were elected as mayor, that they would have to continue to live with the dangerous criminals that are on their streets terrorizing that city right now," she said Wednesday on "Fox & Friends.""Literally hundreds and hundreds of [criminal illegal immigrants] have been removed already in New York City because of President Trump's leadership. We need to continue to do that work, and we need a mayor that will work with us and have our backs when we're out there making sure we're going after those individuals."NYC OFFICIAL WARNS BUSINESSES WILL FLEE 'IN DROVES' IF DEMOCRATIC SOCIALIST CANDIDATE WINS MAYORAL RACENoem insisted that the Big Apple would be a "train wreck" under the Democratic socialist's leadership and such a debacle would leave families "nowhere to go for help."Mamdani told the congregation at the Greater Allen Cathedral of New York on Sunday that the "authoritarian" Trump administration has created a "dark moment" to be a "stranger" in the U.S. He accused the administration of setting the stage for immigrant "abductions" by dispatching mass agents to carry out the task.TRUMP CAUTIONS THAT NY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME IF COMMUNIST MAMDANI IS ELECTED"That is not justice. It is cruelty, and it is criminal," he said."These are our neighbors. These are people who are guilty of only wanting a field of their own to harvest."Mamdani's politically-charged sermon also contained a push to justify his campaign platform. The Democratic candidate's proposals for city-run grocery stores, free buses, rent controls and more have raised eyebrows among some who believe the policies would be unsustainable.Voters will be asked in November to choose between Mamdani and rivaling candidates: Republican Curtis Sliwa, and Andrew Cuomo and incumbent Mayor Eric Adams, who have both launched independent bids.Fox News' Andrew Mark Miller and Cameron Cawthorne contributed to this report.

'Should have been prepared': GOP senators fight for unified message on Trump's 'big, beautiful bill'
Now that the Senate has fled Washington until after Labor Day, Republicans finally have a chance to sell President Donald Trumps "big, beautiful bill" to their constituents, but some fear that Democrats already have an advantage in the messaging war.Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., said that Republicans could "absolutely" do better in selling the colossal bill to combat Democrats "lies." "Well, we should have been prepared right off the bat and talked about, No, we're not talking about reforming Medicaid designed for [women, children and the elderly]. We're looking at how we can save and preserve it and repair the damage done by the Obamacare addition to it,'" he told Fox News Digital. "We should have been talking about that, but we didn't."SENATE GOP READY TO GO NUCLEAR AFTER SCHUMER'S 'POLITICAL EXTORTION' OF NOMINEESSince Trump signed the bill into law, and throughout the entire process to get it to his desk, Democrats have largely been unified in their attacks against the bill, rebranding it as Republicans "big, ugly betrayal," and targeting cuts to Medicaid, food assistance and a litany of other policies."It's a very unpopular bill, so if I were them, I would probably go out and start trying to spin," Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., told Fox News Digital.Messaging against the bill has become routine in Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumers floor speeches, where he often targets the cuts to Medicaid touted by the GOP as reforms to a broken system."The more Americans learn about the Republicans bill, the more they are realizing that Donald Trump and Republicans sold them a raw deal," the New York Democrat said in a floor speech last week. "The Republicans big, ugly betrayal is one of the most devastating bills for Americans healthcare that weve ever seen."TRUMP TELLS SCHUMER TO 'GO TO HELL' OVER SENATE NOMINEE DEAL FUNDING DEMANDS AFTER NEGOTIATIONS COLLAPSEPolling of the bills favorability among Americans is also working against Republicans. A Fox News poll conducted in June after the House GOP passed the legislation found that 59% of respondents opposed the bill.Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., charged that "90% of the media is lying" about the bill, and countered that Republicans were actually increasing Medicaid spending faster than the rate of inflation "to the tune of $200 billion a year when it's all said.""This is not the first message like this that we've struggled to get the truth through," he told Fox News Digital."Republicans need to lean into it," he continued. "We worked really hard, and we're going to save and preserve Medicaid for those who need it the most. And we need to be sharing that."TAX CUTS, WORK REQUIREMENTS AND ASYLUM FEES: HERE'S WHAT'S INSIDE THE SENATE'S VERSION OF TRUMP'S BILLSen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., contended that Republicans shouldnt be shy about the work they put into the bill.Hawley, shortly after the bill passed early last month, held an event in his home state pushing the bill. He, alongside former Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., lauded the bills inclusion of his Radiation Exposure Compensation Act, which renewed and expanded compensation funding for people exposed to nuclear waste. When asked if Republicans had gotten off to a slow start on selling the bill, he said that too much time had been devoted to talking "about Medicaid, for my own taste.""It's less of that," he said. "Talk about the tax cuts in this bill for working people, you know. I mean, that's what people want. I mean, I was asked when I went home. I was asked immediately by people, When are those no taxes on tips? When does that start? So, I mean, people are tracking it, but they're tracking what's for them."And Sen. Tommy Tubberville, R-Ala., charged that Democrats had "zero credibility" when it came to bashing the GOP for cuts and reforms."We got a lot of time," he told Fox News Digital. "There will be a lot of water underneath the bridge. You wont hear about the big, beautiful bill here in another year because there's going to be a couple more big, beautiful bills."
