WWW.FOXNEWS.COMShedeur Sanders expected to start Browns' first preseason game vs Panthers: reportShedeur Sanders may be fourth string on the unofficial Browns depth chart right now, but he's getting the nod to start their first preseason game on Friday night. With Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel both dealing with hamstring injuries, Cleveland.com reported on Tuesday that Sanders is expected to be the first quarterback under center against the Carolina Panthers on the road.Sanders said on Monday that he didnt want to see his father, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, at practice yet due to not taking any first-team reps. But his father has something to watch right away when the Browns kick off on Friday night.CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"I don't want him to see me get a couple reps, and he's cheering like a good dad," Sanders said on Monday to reporters, the first time he spoke since his father revealed battling bladder cancer this offseason. "Like, nah, you can't be proud of me right now. I've got to get to where I'm going, and I know it's a lot I've got to do to get there.Sanders added that its "a gift and a curse" having an NFL legend father, because while it would be nice to have that support in person, he knows how it would be for those on the outside.SHEDEUR SANDERS EXPLAINS WHY HE TOLD HALL OF FAME DAD DEION SANDERS TO STAY AWAY FROM BROWNS' TRAINING CAMP"We know how everybody would take it, as taking away from the team, with my own dad showing up. Its a gift and a curse at the same time," Sanders said.Sanders, though, will get the first chance to show what he can do on the NFL stage with the Browns offense. The fifth-round pick also gets the start due to head coach Kevin Stefanski not wanting 40-year-old Joe Flacco, the teams presumptive starter, to risk injury in Week 1 of preseason. The Browns also signed quarterback Tyler Huntley due to the Pickett and Gabriel injuries, though hes likely to come off the bench when Sanders time on the field is over. The report added that Sanders has only seen reps against the first-team Browns defense, a formidable group, a total of four snaps, which came last week. But Sanders may have some chemistry issues with starting players like Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tilliman, Diontae Johnson and David Njoku considering the lack of reps.Sanders accuracy, though, has been a talking point at Browns camp, and its been in a good way. It was one of his biggest strengths while playing under his father at Colorado, and hes been showcasing that in Berea, Ohio thus far.Sanders knows the football world will be watching closely on Friday night just as they were during the 2025 NFL Draft, as he tumbled down the draft board to day three, where the Browns finally took him with the 144th overall pick. Gabriel was taken in the third round.Lastly, Sanders was held out of Saturdays training camp practice due to arm soreness, but he was participating fully on Monday. So, he is expected to be at full strength, and this will be his first opportunity to show the Browns and the rest of the NFL what he can do at this level.Follow Fox News Digitalssports coverage on X, and subscribe tothe Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 6 Views 0 previzualizare

If this continues, I am going to exert my powers, and FEDERALIZE this City. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"Former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk weighed in on X, sharing the story of a violent incident a DOGE employee was involved in."A few days ago, a gang of about a dozen young men tried to assault a woman in her car at night in DC," Musk wrote. WWW.FOXNEWS.COMIllegal immigrants potentially counted in US census take center stage in redistricting battleThe redistricting battle across the country is bringing renewed attention to how the census counts people who are non-citizens, and if people here illegally are inflating the statistics that ultimately decide congressional seats and the Electoral College.Texas is looking at redistricting, as blue states like California are eyeing the possibility of also redistricting to counter any potential Republican seat additions.Still, theres been a debate about whether to include a question asking to verify somebodys citizenship on the census, and only use the citizen figures to determine congressional district and Electoral College numbers.SENATE REPUBLICANS LAUNCH CRACKDOWN ON DC PERMITTING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, NONCITIZENS TO VOTE IN ELECTIONSMeanwhile, blue states and cities, particularly sanctuary jurisdictions, have faced major sweeps from federal immigration authorities, leading to questions about the number of illegal immigrants that could have been counted in the 2020 census, even though it was before the Biden-era border crisis. The Office of Homeland Security Statistics reported in 2024 that there were roughly 2.6 million "unauthorized immigrants" living in California, and just over 2 million living in Texas as of 2022.Many other states, like Florida, New Jersey, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Georgia, Washington, and Arizona, also had numbers in the hundreds of thousands, according to the offices estimates at the time.TRUMPS IMMIGRATION RESET IS LIFTING WAGES AND FORCING REAL ECONOMIC REFORMThe "Equal Representation Act" was re-introduced in the Senate in June with heavy Republican support, which would add the question and leave out non-citizens from being counted in the apportionments, as they have a major political impact."It is unconscionable that illegal immigrants and non-citizens are counted toward congressional district apportionment and our electoral map for the presidency, which also heavily skews the seat count in the U.S. House of Representatives,"Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn., said in a statement in June on the legislation."While people continue to flee Democrat-run cities, desperate Democrats have back-filled the mass exodus with illegal immigrants so that they do not lose their seats in Congress or their electoral votes, hence artificially boosting their political power and in turn diluting the power of other Americans votes. Im pleased to lead my colleagues in reintroducing this legislation that would require a citizenship question on the census and will ensure that only citizens are counted in congressional redistricting," he added.CLICK HERE FOR MORE IMMIGRATION COVERAGE"Most Americans would be surprised to learn that states with more illegal immigrants are awarded greater representation in Congress as a result. Addressing this perverse feature of reapportionment needs to be part of any discussion about redistricting reform going forward," Rep. Kevin Kiley, R-Calif., told Fox News Digital in a statement.TRUMP, REPUBLICANS RACE TO REDRAW TEXAS CONGRESSIONAL MAP AS DEMOCRATS THREATEN LEGAL WARThe argument from Republicans is that if people who are non-citizens and in the country illegally are being counted, it creates an artificially high number for representation. While theres been discussion in the past, the millions of illegal immigrants that arrived in the country during the Biden administration brought the concern back. A proposal from Rep. Chuck Edwards passed the House last year during the Biden administration, but it never became law and was brought back by the Republican this session."But even if not a single illegal alien casts a vote, the mere presence of illegal immigrants in the U.S. is having a profound impact on the outcome of elections, skewing the representation of Americans," Edwards said at the time."Mr. Biggs points out that the U.S. Constitution mandates that a census be carried out every ten years, where everyone who is present in the United States, regardless of their citizenship and immigration status, is counted. But the Constitution does not specify whether non-citizens or illegal aliens must be counted for the purpose of apportioning House seats," he added.0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 6 Views 0 previzualizare

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMSchool districts hire consultants to recruit students as they face enrollment crisis: reportSchool districts struggling with enrollment loss are hiring consultants to recruit students, as parents are choosing alternatives to public schools including homeschooling and private schools according to a new report. The New York Times reported Tuesday that schools in "Orlando, Newark, Memphis and dozens of other cities and towns have hired consultants who aggressively woo parents to convince them to enroll their children in local public schools.""Brian J. Stephens has built a business around this new reality. Mr. Stephens, a political consultant based in Memphis, runs Caissa K12, a consulting firm for public school districts with the tag line We recruit students,'" the report added.Public schools lose financial support when students choose alternative education options because per-pupil enrollment figures often determine state and federal funding. According to the Times, some districts are considering consolidating and rezoning schools. Orange County, Florida, which has projected a 25 percent drop in district kindergarten enrollment this fall, enlistedCaissa K12s servicesto help it recruit back families tempted by other options.NEW K-12 SCHOOL FOCUSES ON PROMOTING AMERICAN PRINCIPLES, ELIMINATING 'WOKE IDEOLOGY'The firm amassed over 100 district clients, the Times reported. The authors cited federal data showing that two-thirds of traditional public schools lost enrollment between 2019-2023.Fox News Digital previously reported on several other states following Arizona in passing universal school choice legislation, responding to the trend of parents seeking alternative options to traditional public schools. The legislation is introducing competition into the education landscape as parents have options outside the neighborhood school their child is zoned for, placing challenges on school districts that are struggling to retain students.Stephens, the lead architect of recruitment strategies for public schools, told the Times that school districts must prove to parents that they are better than alternative education models such as homeschooling and private schools."The monopoly is over," Stephens told the Times.WHAT ARE MICROSCHOOLS AND WHY IS THE EDUCATION MODEL GROWING IN INDIANA?Caissa K12s recruitment efforts entail setting up canvassers across Orange County to speak to parents. Their staff urge parents to visit public schools and address any"misconceptions about the superiority of private education.""Caroline Christian, a 25-year-old with a degree in marketing, set up a table at a Boys and Girls Club after-school program. Destiny Arnold, a former police officer, looked for garden apartments with childrens bikes parked out front. The team also visited a homeless shelter and a church preschool," the Times reported. The report went on to say, "They gave parents fliers advertising the districts arts and career-education programs. They also asked parents for their phone numbers. Caissa staff members, who can earn performance bonuses, might contact a parent 10, 20, even 30 times to prompt them to complete school-enrollment paperwork."There has been an uptick in parents choosing to homeschool their children since the coronavirus pandemic, indicating a growing trend of parents overlooking public schools. While microschools are not a new concept, they operate similarly to homeschooling.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREAfter Arizona launched its $800 million universal school choice program giving parents $7,000 to put toward their child's education expenses, Tucson Unified School District has reportedly recently faced financial and enrollment struggles citing losses of $20 million as parents overlooked the district. The Trump administration instituted a federal tax credit scholarship, giving individuals all across the country an opportunity to support school choice programs within their state, circumventing anti-school choice measures.School choice advocate, Corey DeAngelis of the American Culture Project, told Fox News Digital that "this new recruitment strategy by the public school system shows that school choice works.""The school system actually has to compete for its customers now that families can vote with their feet," he said.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"School choice is just the beginning. It's time to give teachers unions the same incentive to shift their focus towards the basics as opposed to political agendas. Teachers in every state can now opt out of their union dues and get free liability insurance by joining the Teacher Freedom Alliance."Education policy analyst Jason Bedrick of the Heritage Foundation said that the school district's move to hire consultants is a "good sign.""As parents increasingly have a variety of education options for their children, district schools are learning that they cannot to take families for granted. If district schools want to compete, they'll have to do more to meet the needs of the families they serve," Bedrick said.0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 8 Views 0 previzualizare

WWW.FOXNEWS.COMUSA Fencing Minnesota division to only sanction mixed events in response to trans banThe USA Fencing Minnesota division announced plans to only sanction mixed-gender events moving forward in response to new policies that prevent biologically male trans athletes from competing in women's competitions.USA Fencing changed its policies to ensure that only biological females are able to compete in the women's category last month after the entire U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) updated its athlete safety policy to suggest compliance with President Donald Trump's "Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports" executive order. Now, the Minnesota USA Fencing division is going out of its way to ensure that every single event it sanctions will allow biological males to compete against females in response. The division's announcement criticized USA Fencing's new policy as "harmful."CLICK HERE FOR MORE SPORTS COVERAGE ON FOXNEWS.COM"The Minnesota Division would like to confirm our commitment to inclusion and acknowledge the harmful effects of the new USA Fencing policy as guidened by the USOPC's guidelines," the announcement began. "The recent changes in the USA Fencing policy, in line with USOPC guidelines, has caused pain and confusion in the entire fencing community."The announcement went on to insist that the division must follow the Minnesota Human Rights Act, which protects gender identity."We are currently seeking guidance on how to move forward without violating either [the USA Fencing policy or the Minnesota Human Rights act]. Due to this, only mixed events will be sanctioned at this time," the announcement read."Trans and nonbinary fencers belong here, and we see you."Fox News Digital has reached out to USA Fencing for a response.TRACKING THE TRANS ATHLETE HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS CONTROVERSIES SHAKING THE NATION OVER THE LAST YEARUSA Fencing has been, arguably, the most scrutinized USOPC governing body in its 2025 string of controversies.USA Fencing has been under a national microscope for its gender eligibility policy since April 2, when footage of women's fencer Stephanie Turner kneeling to protest a trans opponent at a competition in Maryland went viral. Turner was disqualified and given a black card for her refusal to face the trans opponent, prompting mass backlash against USA Fencing. The controversy was then the subject of a federal hearing on May 7. The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) Subcommittee's "Unfair Play: Keeping Men Out of Womens Sports" saw Turner testify against USA Fencing chair Damien Lehfeldt. In early June, USA Fencing's board of directors voted to amend its previous policy that prioritized states with LGBTQ-friendly laws for host sites for competitions and a policy that may have prevented the playing of the national anthem at some events. Both of those policies were also highly criticized in the aftermath of Turner's viral protest. Then, the very next week, two USA Fencing board of directors members filed a lawsuit against the other six at-large members, alleging Lehfeldt made false statements to Congress at the May 7 hearing. The plaintiffs, Andrey Geva and Abdel Salem, each have long ties to the sport and organization, previously coaching or competing for Team USA.USA Fencing responded to the lawsuit in a statement to Fox News Digital, saying "this derivative lawsuit misrepresents our organization, and we will vigorously defend the organization in court; any attempt to disparage them will be addressed appropriately."Meanwhile, Minnesota has been one of the most resistant states in the country to Trump's executive order to protect women's sports. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Education have launched Title IX investigations into the state for its policies that allow trans athletes in women's and girls' sports. The DOE investigation was elevated to the federal Title IX investigation team, which operates in conjunction with the Department of Justice, on June 12.The state is also engaged in a pair of lawsuits over the issue, one filed by state Attorney General Keith Ellison against the Trump administration, and another filed by three anonymous girls softball players against Ellison and the state over having to compete with a transgender pitcher in the 2025 season.Follow Fox News Digitals sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 9 Views 0 previzualizare

Sunshine State leaders faced scrutiny from both left-wing immigration and environmental activists due to its location and purpose."Building a bare-bones tented detention center on hot tarmac in the middle of the Everglades and exposing imprisoned immigrants to the elements is a cruel and absurd proposal," Melissa Abdo, PhD, National Parks Conservation Association Sun Coast Regional Director, said in a July 1 statement in opposition to the facility. "The Everglades intense heat, humidity, and storms can be hazardous without proper precautions. This facilitys remote, harsh nature could leave people in very real danger, especially as Floridas heat index skyrockets and hurricane season escalates."0 Commentarii 0 Distribuiri 5 Views 0 previzualizare
