Colorado deputy could face massive fine for sharing information with immigration authorities
An officer sued by Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser for allegedly sharing information with federal immigration agents in violation of state law continues to be under investigation, but he could face a hefty fine."The complaint filed against the deputy is a civil lawsuit (not criminal). Violations of these laws can result in an injunction and civil penalties up to $50,000," Lawrence Pacheco, director of communications at the Colorado Attorney Generals Office, said in an email to Fox News Digital Friday.Mesa County Sheriff's Deputy Alexander Zwinckand another deputy were disciplined by the sheriffs office for allegedly sharing information with federal immigration agents on a drug task force during a Brazilian college student's arrest for an expired visa, according to The Associated Press.COLORADO DEPUTIES VIOLATED NEW STATE LAW WHEN SHARING INFORMATION WITH FEDERAL IMMIGRATION AGENTSMesa County Sheriff Todd Rowell said Caroline Dias-Goncalves, a 19-year-old nursing student, was pulled over by Zwinck for a traffic stop June 5 after she was allegedly driving too close to a semi-truck. While Dias-Goncalves was released with a warning after about 20 minutes, federal immigration agents stopped her and arrested her shortly after.Zwinck was placed on three weeks of unpaid leave, and Erik Olson was placed on two weeks of unpaid leave, Rowell said in a statement. Both were removed from the task force. Two supervisors were also disciplined, with one suspended without pay for two days and another receiving a letter of reprimand. A third supervisor received counseling.FLORIDA AG REFUSES TO BACK DOWN AFTER CONTEMPT RULING IN STATE IMMIGRATION LAW BATTLECLICK HERE FOR MORE IMMIGRATION COVERAGE"Based on our findings, the Mesa County Sheriffs Office should not have had any role in the chain of events leading to Miss Dias-Goncalvess detention, and I regret that this occurred. I apologize to Miss Dias-Goncalves," Mesa County Sheriff Todd Rowell said in a statement on Wednesday."I have pushed for collaboration with state and federal partners to solve crime in our community. In the area of drug interdiction, HSI has been our primary federal law enforcement partner. Although discussions were had with HSI supervision in the months preceding this incident to ensure my deputies would not be involved in immigration enforcement, the administrative review showed that those lines of collaboration were crossed."Colorado Gov. Jared Polis signed legislation earlier this year that prevents local governments from sharing immigration information with immigration officials at the federal level.'OBEY THE LAW': CONSERVATIVE FIREBRAND TORCHES BLUE STATE IMMIGRATION POLICIES AMID MAJOR LAWSUIT"Basically, this new law gives a narrow exception for Colorado law enforcement to cooperate with the federal government if ICE or the Department of Homeland Security asks for assistance in a particular crime investigation," Kristi Burton Brown, executive vice president of Advance Colorado, wrote in an email to Fox News Digital."However, there is an absolute ban on local law enforcement proactively notifying DHS if they discover that a violent criminal or repeat felon is here illegally. If they report to ICE anyway, they will face a $50,000 fine."The law preventing law enforcement from cooperating with the federal government in many circumstances was blasted by Rep. Gabe Evans, R-Colo., a former police officer."As a former cop, I know firsthand how Colorados sanctuary laws have flipped the switch on crime, handcuffing cops instead of criminals. Let me be clear: our states leftist laws dont prioritize public safety, they prioritize political games," Evans posted to X.

Netanyahu responds after Israeli hostage seen emaciated, digging grave: 'Cruelty of Hamas has no boundaries'
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has responded to a disturbing new Hamas propaganda video showing 24-year-old Israeli hostage Evyatar David severely emaciated and digging what he said was his own grave."The cruelty of Hamas has no boundaries," Netanyahu said in a statement. "While the State of Israel is allowing the entry of humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza, the terrorists of Hamas are deliberately starving our hostages and document them in a cynical and evil manner.""The entire world must take a stand in a clear message against the criminal Nazi abuse perpetrated by the Hamas terror organization," Netanyahu added. The office of the Israeli prime minister said Saturday that Netanyahu had spoken "at length" with the families of David and another hostage, Rom Braslavski, who was recently seen in similar condition. Netanyahu "expressed profound shock over the materials distributed by the terror organizations Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad." According to his office, the prime minister told the families "that the efforts to return all our hostages are ongoing, and will continue constantly and relentlessly."FREED AMERICAN-ISRAELI HOSTAGE DETAILS STARVATION AND ABUSE BY HAMAS AS FAMILIES PUSH TRUMP FOR DEALHis office said Netanyahu also "conveyed, in his wife Sara's name, a great embrace to the families, telling them that she is heartbroken over the unbearable videos."In one video released by the terror group and made public Friday, a shirtless David is seen crossing off dates on a calendar and digging the grave in a tunnel barely as tall as he is.In a statement released through the Hostages Families Forum Headquarters, David's family said they were forced to watch their beloved son and brother "deliberately and cynically starved in Hamass tunnels in Gaza a living skeleton, buried alive.""The deliberate starvation of our son as part of a propaganda campaign is one of the most horrifying acts the world has seen," the family said.David's brother, Ilay, spoke at a massive rally demanding a ceasefire and hostage release deal in Tel Aviv over the weekend.TRUMP BOASTS HE 'STOPPED ABOUT FIVE WARS' WHILE OPENING NEW SCOTLAND GOLF COURSE, VOWS TO WORK WITH NETANYAHU"They are on the absolute brink of death. In their current, unimaginable condition, they may have only days left to live," Ilay told the crowd in Hostages Square. "Hamas is using Evyatar in one of the most horrific and calculated campaigns of cruelty imaginable. A live hunger experiment. They are starving him deliberately, systematically, using his agonizing suffering as a twisted tool for depraved propaganda.""This is not just a violation of international law," he said. "It is a brutal, barbaric assault on every shred of basic human decency. It's an act so vile it scars the very soul of humanity." The U.S. and Israel pulled their negotiators from Doha, Qatar, two weeks ago as ceasefire and hostage-release talks with Hamas reached a standstill. On Friday, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff met with Netayahu in Israel before spending several hours in Gaza inspecting food distribution centers amid hunger concerns.Witkoff said they spent over five hours inside Gaza "level-setting the facts on the ground, assessing conditions," and meeting with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and other agencies. He said the purpose of the visit was to give President Donald Trump "a clear understanding of the humanitarian situation and help craft a plan to deliver food and medical aid to the people of Gaza."Chapin Fay, a spokesperson for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, said the visit reflected Trump's understanding of the stakes and that "feeding civilians, not Hamas, must be the priority."Fox News' Yael Kuriel and the Associated Press contributed to this report.

'Bachelor' couple Sean and Catherine Lowe push back on Ozempic craze: There's a healthier route
Reality TV stars Sean and Catherine Lowe are addressing the Ozempic craze in Hollywood, labeling the movement "triggering" and "hard to watch."The former "Bachelor" stars have found an alternative route when it comes to wellness. Sean and Catherine spoke to Fox News Digital about the new fitness habits they've created and their commitment to healthy Atkins recipes."We're inundated with [the Ozempic] messaging, and it's really hard, because we just don't know what's going to happen in the long term," Catherine said. "But we've seen that consistency and doing things more considerately about your wellness and making habits be part of your life that you're not going to see things instantly, but if you are consistent over a period of time, you're gonna be healthier."And so, Sean always talks about, just consistency is so important. And I think we are so prone to taking an easy route, but there are other options out there ... I think there's a lot of restriction, too."BROOKE BURKE SAYS OZEMPIC CAUSES TERRIBLE METABOLIC ISSUES, WARNS AGAINST TRYING TO 'CHEAT THE SYSTEMShe added: "It's been hard to watch the Ozempic craze. It's been, I'm sure, triggering for a lot of people, but there's a healthier route, and I think if you're willing to stay on track at something for a longer period of time, you'll see probably a healthier lifestyle in general."Sean and Catherine, who have partnered with Atkins for a healthier lifestyle, shared that they focus on walking after meals, going to the gym and consistency to stay on track with their goals."[You] try to go to the gym every day, and then you try to make really smart choices, which Atkins helps us do," Sean explained. "But I think where people get in trouble is when it's like all or nothing, 100 miles an hour, really strict, oppressive diet that you know is not gonna last.""And doing the same in the gym, just going way too hard, way too fast," he added. "And it's just, it's not built for longevity. So, for me, it's consistently making good choices, consistently going to the gym, being active, things like that."DENISE AUSTIN'S SECRET TO ROCKING A BIKINI BETTER AT 68 THAN HER 30SAPP USERS CLICK HERE TO VIEW THE INSTAGRAM POSTSean and Catherine first met on season 17 of "The Bachelor." Instead, Sean and Catherine joked they enjoy a "consistent fun simmer.""We met in such an unconventional way, and what attracted me to her the most was just this energy and this playfulness that she has," Sean said. "And I think we still have that 11 years later. Like, we're constantly just being playful with one another and acting like kids who are in love, right?"WATCH: 'Bachelor' couple says it's 'hard to watch the Ozempic craze'Catherine added: "We're just best friends, and we spend a ridiculous amount of time together. So, you know, most people, if they are away from each other for most of the day, you want to spend quality time with them. But we like literally disperse it throughout every single day. We're always together. And so we're just best friends, and we do everything together.""It's less of like quality time and a concentrated effort. "So, the pressure isn't super high. We just live life and happen to have a platform."CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT NEWSLETTERFor the couple, it's been "really easy" to show up online authentically because of their supportive followers who have grown from "Bachelor" fans into an online community."From the beginning, we've just shared authentic pictures and videos of us and our kids and having fun and things like that," Sean noted. "It's been really neat to see the people who watched us, what was that, 12 years ago, and then they became followers. And they've just kind of been on this journey with us for 12 years. And so, to answer your question more directly, it's been really easy because I think more times than not the people who follow us are just really supportive and kind and have nice things to say. And sometimes we share difficult things in our lives, and people offer support and encouragement. So for us, it's kind of natural and easy. And it's also been rewarding to, you know, have such good feedback from followers on social media."

Christian bodybuilder reveals how fitness honors God: 'Your body is a temple'
Regular exercise is known to benefit physical and mental health but there has been some debate about whether pursuing physical improvement could conflict with Christian principles. Some have cautioned that putting too much focus on fitness could veer into "idol worship," which is when another pursuit surpasses devotion to God.In the book "Counterfeit Gods: The Empty Promises of Money, Sex, and Power and the Only Hope that Matters," author Tim Keller defines an idol as "anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, anything you seek to give you what only God can give."According to some points of view, that could even include exercise.FORGET 10,000 STEPS RESEARCH REVEALS THE REAL NUMBER YOU NEED FOR BETTER HEALTHOthers like Hunter Sprague, a Christian bodybuilder and father of three in Texas take a different perspective. After spending time in Christian ministry, Sprague tapped into his personal passion for exercise and strength-building to launch Monolith Movement, a coaching and mentorship platform that helps men balance faith and fitness. In an on-camera interview with Fox News Digital, Sprague described physical health as a form of spiritual stewardship, which is reflected in 1 Corinthians in the New Testament: "Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit ... therefore honor God with your body." (See part of the interview in the video at the top of this article.)SIMPLE JAPANESE FITNESS TREND COULD ADD 7 YEARS TO LIFE EXPECTANCY, EXPERTS SAYSprague acknowledged that in Gnosticism a set of ancient religious beliefs that emerged around the 1st and 2nd centuries AD followers believed that the physical body and the material world "just didnt matter.""If you're going to be saved, be enlightened, you have to kind of ascend the body," he said of the belief. "Its this mindset that it's all about my heart, and my body doesn't matter."Over time, Sprague was able to strike a balance between his commitment to physical fitness and his devotion to his faith."Our bodies matter, our physical material world matters it was created," he said, noting that the physical form is a critical part of who we are designed to be."That is the natural created order if the Lord didn't desire for you to have a body, you wouldnt have one.""I think the Lord kind of used fitness to illuminate a lot of this to me," Sprague went on. "I can't just live a mental faith there has to be some experiential power that goes along with it."In his view, exercise and fitness are a form of embracing the control the "agency" that the Lord has given us over our bodies."This is primarily a matter of stewardship," Sprague said. "How are you stewarding the fact that you have a functioning body? How are you stewarding the fact that you've been given all of these tools and resources and abilities?""What are you doing with it for the benefit of others, for your benefit, as you seek to love the Lord and delight in him, and have that sense of peace and hope and resilience?"In his own personal fitness routine, Sprague said he focuses on a mix of strength training and cardio."For a lot of people, fitness equates to just weight loss, but if you're losing weight without building muscle, you're shooting yourself in the foot," he told Fox News Digital.Strength training is "absolutely crucial" for Americans right now, the expert said, as many people are "overweight and under-muscled."Sprague spends three to four days a week in the gym lifting weights and using cable machines."It's the hard part, it's the slow burn. It doesn't happen by accident," he said. "Its just pushing myself week after week, competing against myself."EXERCISE PROGRAM REDUCES COMMON CANCER RECURRENCE AND BOOSTS SURVIVALFor cardio, Sprague recommends finding opportunities to keep moving and to increase daily steps."You'll see a massive difference between 2,000 or 4,000 steps and doubling that to 8,000 or 10,000," he said. "And if you can go up from there, the more the merrier."Walking is an "easy barrier to entry," he said, and is very good for brain health and digestion. In addition to alternating between walking and sprinting, Sprague recommends finding other ways to stay active in day-to-day life."Just more activity that's coupled with something you enjoy is really helpful," he said.ZONE 2 TRAINING: THE TRENDING WORKOUT THAT BURNS FAT WITHOUT INTENSE EXERCISEIn terms of nutrition, Sprague focuses on what he calls "modular eating," including a few lean proteins, fibrous vegetables and a handful of carbs. If hes trying to achieve a particular goal, he carefully tracks his food intake to get "absolute clarity" into how hes doing. When it comes to supplements, Sprague said he keeps it "very, very simple.""I do creatine and monohydrate every day. I'll utilize protein powders to reach my protein target with minimal calories."For anyone looking to honor their body and also honor the Lord, Sprague said its important to recognize that the physical being matters, but that it will never be the main source of happiness or peace."Its hard to be satisfied, its hard to get to a place where you're like, I'm done, I made it," Sprague said. "There's always going to be this sense of, There's more to go, theres more to do.""My identity, my worth, my value, isn't wrapped up in what I achieve physically rather, this process is just a joy in itself."In the pursuit of greater physical fitness, Sprague said its essential to "notice God's goodness" in all of it."Its a means of grace that the Lord designed endorphins for you he designed dopamine for you," he noted. "He designed the feeling of accomplishment you get when you lift something or run a little bit farther or have a really good day with your food that's not inconsequential."Setting specific goals and making a plan to achieve them is the most effective path to success, according to the expert.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER"Just get some momentum and start putting one foot in front of the other," Sprague advised."It all comes down to time and effort. Put some pressure on yourself, set some deadlines and just go do it because the thinking, considering and mulling it over will get you absolutely nowhere," he went on.For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/health"And the more you bring the Lord into this and notice His goodness in it, the better it goes."

Charlamagne tha God casts doubt on potential Harris 2028 run, urges Dems to throw 'old regime' under the bus
Radio host Charlamagne Tha God threw some cold water on the idea of former Vice President Kamala Harris running for president in 2028, and urged the Democratic Party to throw the old regime "under the bus.""I don't personally know if I would run for president, if I was her, and, if she does, she has toget a real connection with the people. I think that's something that she's always been missing," he said during Fox News' "My View."Charlamagne sat for an exclusive interview with Fox News host Lara Trump on Saturday, days after Harris revealed she would not be running to be California's next governor."If you look at from 2020 to now, whenever you see her, it always seems like it's transactional, right? Like she ran for president. Soshe was trying to get people's attention for that. Then she became vice president, then she became the actual nominee. People have never seen the VP just out having a conversation, doing what she says she wants to do right there, which is just being of service to the people in that way. I think she just needs to establish a real connection with the people," the radio host continued.KAMALA HARRIS SCOLDS 'PILING ON' AGAINST JOE BIDEN WHEN ASKED ABOUT SEPARATING HERSELF DURING 2024 CAMPAIGNCharlamagne told the Democratic Party to throw the old regime "completely under the bus.""Whoever is going to be leading the party moving forward, whoever says that they're going to be the face of the party, moving forward. If we're talking about like a change agent coming from the outside, that's really going to shake things up and somebody that I feel like can speak to, you know, all people, plus we actually, he's a celebrity who actually knows what they're talking about, we've seen him get legislation and stuff passed before, like, we know where his heart is, he'd be somebody I'd like to see really get in the race and disrupt things in 2028," he said.Charlamagne then added, "maybe a Jon Stewart-Colbert ticket, because, you know, Colbert's not going to have a job."The liberal radio host also suggested the nominee would be a Democratic governor, pointing to Gov. Josh Shapiro, D-Pa., and Gov. Wes Moore, D-Md.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTUREDuring Charlamagne's radio show this week, he suggested Harris could be a leader of the Democratic Party, but said he wasn't sure about her running again."I don't know if she should run again, but I definitely would like to see her write a book. I definitely would like to, you know, see her start a podcast and just build a real connection with people, you know, and she is - I mean relatively young," Charlamagne said. "I just don't know what's going to happen in 2028, man. I just think Democrats suck so bad. I don't - I don't know."
