Fox News Channel dominates all of television in July, CNN hits rock bottom among key demo
Fox News Channel dominated all of television during July, outdrawing broadcast networks in critical categories, while CNN hit rock bottom among viewers sought after by advertisers.Fox News averaged 1.5 million total day viewers to dominate all cable throughout July as No. 2 MSNBC settled for an average audience of 530,000 and CNN managed only 370,000 average total day viewers.During primetime, Fox News averaged a staggering 2.4 million viewers, to more than double the audience of runner-up MSNBC, which managed 865,000 average viewers from 8-11 p.m. ET. CNN averaged a dismal primetime audience of 497,000 to finish behind ESPN, HGTV and Hallmark, in addition to Fox News and MSNBC. Fox News has now topped both CNN and MSNBC during primetime for 54 straight months.FOX NEWS MEDIA LOSES BELOVED FIELD PRODUCER ROBERT SHAFFER AFTER LONG ILLNESSWhile Fox News dominated cable, it also all beat broadcast networks in primetime as NBC managed 2.1 million viewers and CBS and ABC settled for 2 million apiece.Since the first day of summer on June 20, Fox News has also led the broadcast networks in primetime with 2.6 million viewers, compared to ABCs 2.3 million viewers, NBCs 2.1 million viewers and CBS 2 million viewers.Fox News also completely obliterated competition among the advertiser-coveted demographic of adults aged 25-54 during July, a critical category that has long plagued MSNBC.Fox News averaged 184,000 total day viewers among the demo to finish atop all cable offerings, including ESPN, TBS, USA, Comedy Central, FX and Food Network.FOX NEWS' GREG GUTFELD DOMINATES LATE-NIGHT TELEVISION RATINGS AS CBS ENDS COLBERT'S 'LATE SHOW'CNN managed only 62,000 demo viewers for its lowest-rated July of all time and MSNBC achieved only 52,000 as they failed to top Fox News combined.Fox News averaged 257,000 demo viewers during primetime, compared to only 92,000 for CNN, which had its worst month ever in that category, too. But while CNN failed to crack the top ten cable networks in the critical category and had its worst July of all time, it still managed to trounce MSNBC.MSNBCs primetime lineup averaged only 81,000 demo viewers to finish with a smaller audience than a variety of cable options, including A&E, TLC, Bravo, Nick-at-Nite, Comedy Central and Adult Swim.July marked the 53rd straight month that Fox News swept cable news among both total viewers and the key demo. Fox News commanded 63% of the cable news share with viewers across total day and 64% in primetime."The Five," with Dana Perino, Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, Jessica Tarlov and Harold Ford Jr., averaged 3.5 million total viewers and 378,000 among the demo to lead cable news in both categories."Jesse Watters Primetime," "Gutfeld!," "Hannity," "Special Report with Bret Baier," "The Ingraham Angle" and "The Will Cain Show" all finished with larger audiences than anything CNN or MSNBC had to offer as Fox News swept the top seven programs."Gutfeld!" outdrew "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" despite the free advertising the CBS program generated by announcing it would cancel the program in 2026.The most-watched, non-Fox News program was MSNBCs "The Rachel Maddow Show," which managed an average audience of 2 million. However, "Maddow" only aired three times during the entire month of July as its namesake continues to only work on Monday nights.KAROLINE LEAVITT STOPS BY RUTHLESS TO TOUT TRUMPS 'INCREDIBLE' FIRST SIX MONTHS OF SECOND TERM"FOX & Friends" finished July with 1.3 million viewers and 169,000 in the demo, remaining the No. 1 cable news program in the mornings in both categories for the 53rd consecutive month."Americas Newsroomwith Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino," "The Faulkner Focus," "Outnumbered," "America Reportswith John Roberts and Sandra Smith" and Martha MacCallums"The Story" all also had strong months to help Fox News crush the competition during the day and "Fox News @ Night" dominated its timeslot.CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE OF MEDIA AND CULTURE"The Big Weekend Show" averaged 1.5 million viewers to finish as the No. 1 cable news program on Saturdays, while "Sunday Morning Futures" averaged 1.7 million to take the Sunday title. UCLA pays big settlement over 'Jew Exclusion Zone' discrimination claims from students
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) has agreed to pay $6 million to settle a lawsuit brought by Jewish students and faculty members over the school's handling of anti-Israel protests, including allowing protesters to ban Jews from a part of the campus known as a "Jew Exclusion Zone."The lawsuit was brought last year by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, which accused UCLA of "aiding and abetting" an antisemitic culture, including "segregating Jewish students and preventing them from accessing the heart of campus."In a statement to Fox News Digital, Mary Osako, the UCLA vice chancellor for strategic communications, said the university has taken "concrete action to enhance campus safety by creating a new Office of Campus and Community Safety, instituting new policies to manage protests on campus and taking decisive action for conduct that violates our longstanding policies."EDUCATION SECRETARY LINDA MCMAHON TOUTS COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY'S $200M SETTLEMENT 'TEMPLATE'"Antisemitism has no place at UCLA, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to eradicating it from our community," Osako said. "We have reflected candidly on our progress and are working to expunge antisemitism from our community in its entirety."These efforts have been supplemented by our continuing work to eliminate antisemitism completely and definitively through our Initiative to Combat Antisemitism," she added. "This work, and todays settlement, represent an important next step as we build upon our past efforts and stride toward fulfilling our promise of being an exemplary university."The university agreed to enter into a consent judgment and pay more than $6.13 million to the plaintiffs. A federal judge still needs to give final approval. In August 2024, a federal judge ordered the school to stop allowing anti-Israel protesters to ban Jews from portions of the school's campus. School officials acknowledged that students had been physically blocked from accessing parts of campus.TRUMP SECURES $221M COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY SETTLEMENT OVER ALLEGED CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS"In the year 2024, in the United States of America, in the State of California, in the City of Los Angeles, Jewish students were excluded from portions of the UCLA campus because they refused to denounce their faith," a federal court found at the time."This fact is so unimaginable and so abhorrent to our constitutional guarantee of religious freedom that it bears repeating, Jewish students were excluded from portions of the UCLA campus because they refused to denounce their faith."Yitzchok Frankel, then a third-year law student at UCLA and father of four who said he faced antisemitic harassment for wearing a kippah, was forced to abandon his regular routes through campus because of the Jew Exclusion Zone."When antisemites were terrorizing Jews and excluding them from campus, UCLA chose to protect the thugs and help keep Jews out," Frankel said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital by the Becket Fund. "That was shameful, and it is sad that my own school defended those actions for more than a year. But todays court judgment brings justice back to our campus and ensures Jews will be safe and be treated equally once again."Mark Rienzi, president of Becket and an attorney for the students involved in the lawsuit, said campus administrators across the country bent their knees to antisemites as encampments spread across college campuses.CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APP"They are now on notice: Treating Jews like second-class citizens is wrong, illegal and very costly," he said. "UCLA should be commended for accepting judgment against that misbehavior and setting the precedent that allowing mistreatment of Jews violates the Constitution and civil rights laws. Students across the country are safer for it."Fox News Digital's Brianna Herlihy contributed to this report.

Trump issues firm 10-day deadline to Putin to end war
President Donald Trump on Tuesday firmed up threats he issued one day prior against Russian President Vladimir Putin and said he had exactly 10 days to enter into a peace deal or face sanctions."Ten days from today," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on his trip back from Scotland."Then you know we're going to put on tariffs and stuff," the president continued. "And I don't know if it's going to affect Russia because he wants to, obviously, probably keep the war going."TRUMP 'DISAPPOINTED' IN PUTIN, SAYS HE'LL REDUCE 50-DAY DEADLINE"But we're going to put on tariffs and the various things that you put up, it may or may not affect them, but it could," Trump added.Trumps comments highlight some skepticism over whether his threat to levy 100% tariffs and secondary tariffs on third-party nations that purchase Russian oil will do much to impact Putins decision calculus when it comes to his war aims in Ukraine.U.S. purchases from Moscow are already significantly reduced due to Putins invasion of Ukraine, with U.S. imports from Russia totaling just $3 billion in 2024, down 34.2% from 2023, according to government data. The figures reportedly represent less than 1% of Russias total exports, but what could impact Moscows war efforts is the effect of tariffs targeting the $192 billion that Russia profited from foreign oil sales in 2024.FROM TALK TO TACTICS: TRUMP PIVOTS ON RUSSIA STRATEGY TO END WARChina and India are consistently the top purchasers of Russian oil, and it is highly unlikely they are able to divert their oil needs to other markets in a 10-day time frame. It is unclear how Trump will enforce the secondary sanctions on China and India, particularly as trade negotiations with both nations remain ongoing.Despite talks in Stockholm this week with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and his Chinese counterparts, the U.S. has not yet solidified an official trade deal with China. The U.S. had until Aug. 12 to either extend the tariff pause or see a 145% hike on the prices of all Chinese goods bought in the U.S.But with Trumps latest 10-day deadline to Putin, and by extension, buyers of Russian oil, this date may have just been moved up to Aug. 8.It remains unclear how the additional threat of 100% secondary sanctions will impact the presidents decision-making when it comes to trade with Beijing.

Pope Leo XIV condemns brutal machete attack that killed 49 Christians during prayer in DR Congo
The Pope, the State Department, the United Nations and a leading Christian group have all condemned a new major attack on Christians in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which the U.N. says left at least 49 dead.In the latest attack in a tragic long string of mass murders by Islamist terrorists in both Nigeria and the DRC, the U.N. said rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a sanctioned rebel group allied to Islamic State with roots in Uganda, burst into a church in the Eastern town of Komanda and set about hacking Christians who were worshipping inside with machetes and other knives. The congregation was attacked at 1 a.m. last Sunday morning, while they were on a night vigil, reportedly praying for peace. The rebels also burnt nearby homes. Nine children are said to be among the dead. Several villagers have been abducted.A State Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital, "The United States designated the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), also known as ISIS-DRC, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in 2021. We are concerned by reports of the recent attack on civilians in the Democratic Republic of Congo and strongly condemn this cowardly act of violence against Christians in their place of worship."POPE, STATE DEPARTMENT CONDEMN LATEST MASSACRE OF CHRISTIANS BY ISLAMIST MILITANTS IN NIGERIAPope Leo XIV also condemned the attack. "May the blood of these martyrs become a seed of peace, reconciliation, fraternity, and love for the Congolese people." A Vatican Cardinal added that the Pope "learned with dismay and deep sorrow of the attack."The U.N.s Stablization Mission in the DRC, MONUSCO, expressed "deep outrage at these heinous acts of violence, which constitute serious violations of international humanitarian law and infringements on human rights.""The killings are strategic," Illia Djadi, senior sub-Saharan researcher for Christian charity Open Doors, who support and speak up for Christians persecuted for their faith, stated. He added, "The ADF have a very clear aim: they want to turn a large part of DRC into an Islamic caliphate, like the horrific one instigated in Iraq and Syria in 2014 by Islamic State."Contacted by Fox News Digital on Tuesday, Djadi said, "The presence of Islamic State groups across the region means that sub-Saharan Africa has become the new epicenter of jihadism." Muslims are in the minority here; its said that Christians account for between 80-95% of the population.BISHOP'S VILLAGE ATTACKED, 20 SLAIN AFTER RECENT TESTIMONY TO CONGRESS ON CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION70 Christians were reported beheaded, again in a church in the DRC, in February. The killings of Christians are worse in Nigeria, with Pope Leo XIV telling crowds at the Vatican that "some 200 people were murdered, with extraordinary cruelty" on June 13 in Yelewata, in Nigerias Benue State.According to Open Doors Internationals 2025 World Watch List (WWL), of the 4,476 Christians killed worldwide in WWLs latest reporting period, 3,100 of those who died (69%) were in Nigeria.Djadi told Fox News Digital that despite President Trumps brokered peace deal in the DRC, Christians in the East of the country are still at risk. "There has been a lot of attention paid to the DRC recently, with Donald Trump spearheading a peace initiative between the DRC and Rwanda, whose rebel fighters the M23 have taken a large proportion of territories in the east of the DRC.""However," Djadi added, "while government forces are trying to contain the M23 in the urban regions, the rural areas are left undefended. It has left a security vacuum, meaning that the ADF are free to slaughter hundreds of innocent civilians with impunity, with Christians especially at risk."It is the primary responsibility of (the) Congolese government to protect the whole nation, regardless of their religious faith or ethnic background. What would happen if the ADF continues its killing unopposed is too awful to contemplate."

Doctors share bladder cancer warning signs after Deion Sanders reveals diagnosis and recovery
After Hall of Fame athlete Deion Sanders announcement that he battled bladder cancer, doctors are sharing warning signs to monitor.Sanders, who is currently head football coach at the University of Colorado Boulder, spoke about his medical struggles during a Monday press conference held at Folsom Field in Boulder. The former NFL and MLB star, 57, appeared alongside his care team and representatives from University of Colorado Health (UC Health) and University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Anschutz).MAN'S DEADLY BRAIN CANCER TUMOR DISAPPEARS AFTER EXPERIMENTAL DRUG TRIALSanders was diagnosed with "very high-risk, non-muscle invasive bladder cancer," but is now cancer-free, according to a statement from his oncologist."We removed the tumor. It was very high-grade and invading through the bladder wall," said Dr. Janet Kukreja, urological oncology director at CU Anshutz. "I am pleased to report that the results from the surgery are that he is cured from the cancer."The oncologist noted that Sanders type of cancer has a very high rate of recurrence and progression.Treating the disease within the bladder would require a long series of treatments over a three-year period, and there would still be a 50% chance of the cancer coming back. The cancer could also have spread to the muscle, the doctor said, which happens in about half of cases.CANCER COULD BE DETECTED THREE YEARS BEFORE DIAGNOSIS WITH EXPERIMENTAL BLOOD TEST"Only about 10% of people live five years, even with our current medical treatment, if it metastasizes," she said.Together with his care team, Sanders made the decision to have a bladder removal, in which surgeons performed a "full robot-assisted laparoscopic bladder removal" and created a new bladder."Its a laparoscopic surgery where we attach a robot to the patient, and then we do all the maneuvering of the robot," Kukreja said. "And then once the bladder comes out, we also take some lymph nodes to make sure it hasn't spread, and then we make a new bladder using [the patients] own intestines.""It is a new way of life. And it is a learning curve for sure."Lauren Askevold, an athletic trainer at the University of Colorado, shared that Sanders bladder tumor was discovered inadvertently during a CT scan to monitor his heart health.Sanders, who lost 25 pounds during the course of his cancer journey, said he is thankful and urged others to be aware of warning signs and to seek medical attention.RARE CANCER DIAGNOSES SURGE DRAMATICALLY AMONG MILLENNIALS AND GEN X"It's been a tremendous journey. It has been tough," he said at the press conference. "Everybody get checked out, because if it wasn't for me getting tested for something else, they wouldn't have stumbled upon this.""And make sure you go to the get the right care. Because without wonderful people like this, I probably wouldn't be sitting here today, because it grew so expeditiously."Sanders also spoke about his struggles with using a catheter and no longer having control of his bladder, noting that "its a whole life change.""I know a lot of people out there are going through what I'm going through and dealing with what I'm dealing with, and let's stop being ashamed of it let's deal with it head-on," he said.Sanders said he is feeling strong and ready to coach again. "It was never in my spirit, in my heart, that God wouldn't allow me to coach again."Kukreja noted that Sanders outlook is "very good.""We'll just keep him on routine surveillance scans. Other than that, nothing else."Although Sanders said he had "no signs whatsoever," Kukreja emphasized the importance of people being aware of any red flags for bladder cancer, which is the fourth most common cancer in men."The early signs are usually blood in the urine," she said during the press conference. "Blood in the urine in the absence of infection is never normal and should always get checked out."Even in the absence of symptoms, Kukreja recommends regularly seeing a primary care doctor, eating well and abstaining from smoking."Coach was never a smoker, and one of the people that just unfortunately got bladder cancer," she said. "But that's also something that's very heavily associated with bladder cancer."Dr. Chad Ryan Ritch, M.D., a urologic oncologist at the University of Miami Health System, did not treat Sanders but shared input on bladder cancer warning signs."The main sign is the presence of visible (or microscopic) blood in the urine, without pain and in the absence of infection or trauma," he told Fox News Digital.Less common signs, according to Ritch, include strong urges to urinate and frequent urination with mild discomfort that does not subside with common treatments.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR HEALTH NEWSLETTER"These are known as irritative voiding symptoms," he noted. In advanced cases, some patients may experience urinary obstruction with blockage of the ureter, which connects the kidney to the bladder."This may present as pain in the flank and should not be ignored, especially if it occurs with blood in the urine and without other identifiable causes, such as infection or trauma," said Ritch. The doctor reiterated that the most common cause of urothelial bladder cancer in the U.S. is smoking "thus, quitting and avoiding tobacco smoking is the best prevention."For more Health articles, visitwww.foxnews.com/health"Chronic urinary tract infections and decades of bladder inflammation from instrumentation such as catheters may also cause squamous cell bladder cancer," Ritch added."The take-home message is that if you have these risk factors and have visible or microscopic blood in the urine, then it is important to see a doctor."

Democratic policies paved way for Cincinnati brawl, say Ohio Republicans: 'Fear and chaos'
Republican members of Ohio's congressional delegation say Democratic policies created societal conditions that led to a violent brawl in downtown Cincinnati that went viral online."Name one major city in America where you'd feel safe letting your kids walk alone. You can't, and that should alarm every one of us," Rep. Michael Rulli, R-Ohio, told Fox News Digital on Tuesday."For too long, we've accepted fear and chaos as normal while left-wing politicians push sanctuary cities, slash police funding, and let violent criminals and the mentally ill roam the streets. This isn't compassion. It's failure."Meanwhile, Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio, called for Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval's resignation over the incident.CINCINNATI MAYORAL CANDIDATE, VP VANCE'S HALF-BROTHER, SLAMS CITY LEADERSHIP AFTER BRUTAL BEATDOWN"It's a heinous attack. The mayor of Cincinnati is a disgrace," Moreno said. When asked what could be done to stop such incidents, he said, "Have the mayor resign. Have a congressman that actually cares about his district, and fund the police in Cincinnati."Fox News Digital reached out to the mayor's office for comment, as well as the office of Rep. Greg Landsman, D-Ohio, whose congressional district includes Cincinnati. It comes after a video lit up social media over the weekend that appeared to show a mob of people violently attacking one man, and a woman who tried to help him.CINCINNATI POLICE CHIEF SAYS OUT OF 100 PEOPLE WATCHING AND RECORDING VIOLENT ATTACK, ONLY 1 CALLED 911Pureval issued a statement condemning the "vicious fight" and pledging that arrests were "forthcoming."Fox 19 Cincinnati reported Monday that five people had been charged. But Rulli and Moreno are two of the latest Republican officials from Ohio to comment on the brawl that took place on Saturday.Vice President JD Vance, who served in the Senate before being elected to the White House with President Donald Trump, said Monday that Moreno showed him a video of the violence."Its disgusting. I hope every single one of those people who engaged in violence is prosecuted to the full extent of the law," Vance said during an event in Canton, Ohio."When you have a grown man sucker-punching a middle-aged woman, that person ought to go to jail for a very long time. And frankly, he is lucky there werent some better people around because they would handle it themselves Weve had way too much lawlessness on the streets of great American cities."The details of what started the fight, and who initiated the aggression, are still unclear.

Five charged in viral Cincinnati street attack but prosecutor's office awaits details
The top prosecutor in Hamilton County, Ohio, Connie Pillich, said despite claims from Cincinnati Chief of Police Teresa Theetge, that five people have been charged in connection to an attack over the weekend, those charges have not yet been filed with the court. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Pillich said to her knowledge, five people were charged, though her office has yet to receive any word on what the charges are.The charges stem from a beating that took place on Friday night between Elm and Fourth Streets, that resulted in videos of the incident going viral on social media.Video circulating around social media shows two people attacking a man wearing a white T-shirt, who is eventually shoved to the ground. The man wearing a white T-shirt was kicked several times while he was on the ground but eventually gets up.CINCINNATI BUSINESS OWNERS SLAM VIRAL 'OUT OF CONTROL' BEATING AMID FIGHT TO CLEAN UP DOWNTOWNA woman was also seen lying unconscious in the street after being punched. Several people can be seen helping her get up, and she eventually regained consciousness."What I saw in that video was very, very troubling to me," Pillich told Fox News Digital. "Just people fighting, using violence to solve some, probably, some minor disagreement. And thats just not acceptable behavior."Even more concerning to the prosecutor was that the incident took place in a part of Cincinnati that she said has very little crime.CINCINNATI MAYORAL CANDIDATE, VP VANCE'S HALF-BROTHER, SLAMS CITY LEADERSHIP AFTER BRUTAL BEATDOWN"It was just a perfect storm of people being out, being out late, probably drinking, having some sort of disagreement that exploded into a fistfight," Pillich said. "That can happen with alcohol, and as you can seesome of them were dressed up very nicely, and they were just out on the town."Pillich explained that incidents like that from over the weekend do not happen all the time. When the assault took place, several events were taking place in Cincinnati, including a music festival, a basketball tournament at the Heritage Bank Center arena, and a Cincinnati Reds baseball game.POLICE IDENTIFY MULTIPLE SUSPECTS IN BRUTAL CINCINNATI STREET FIGHT: 'CRUEL AND ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE'"There was a lot going on down here and all of it was safe," Pillich said. "When you get a bunch of people [together] sometimes people disagree people might disagree with you when youre driving down the highway."So, were just seeing that kind of temperature being stoked a little bit, probably through, in my mind, through social media, through gossip transmitted across social media," she added. "So, we need to step that down a little bit."During a press conference on Monday, Theetge slammed social media for not showing the full story of what happened that led to what some have claimed to be a Black on White crime in Cincinnati. The chief also took issue with the medias coverage of the incident.BRUTAL DOWNTOWN BRAWL LEAVES VICTIMS BLOODIED AS CINCINNATI POLICE LAUNCH INVESTIGATIONTheetge said during the presser that over 100 people were watching and filming the attack, though only one person called 911 to alert police to the incident. When officers arrived, the attack had come to an end, she said."The idea that nobody called 911I think is part of the culture that were in right now where we want to record everything, and I dont know what people do with those recordings," Pillich said. "But calling 911 has got to be what we do first. 911s been around for decades, way earlier than this century was arriving here. People should know 911, and perhaps this is a very good reminder to everyone that we should all call 911 if we see something."And despite the police chief saying many people were watching and recording the attack, Pillich said she saw another side not mentioned."I can tell you when I looked at a couple of the videos, I saw people yelling, Stop! Stop!" she said. "I saw [people] pulling people out of the melee. I saw a small amount of people trying to help, and Im really glad about those good people who understand that were better than this."
